    Tomahawk Steak
    Alex C.

I don't know what happened to my review. Perhaps mentioning staff by name for providing good service or maybe pointing out great food and drinks. I highly recommend the Tomahawk steak, bread pudding and apple turnover with vanilla ice cream a la mode. It's been a while since I've eaten there but all were memorable. I had taken some photos of the speakeasy bar in the basement. It's has a really cool ambiance and very friendly service. I'm just sad that my previous review was somehow removed. I give the 1901 five stars for flavor, fun, food quality and fresh innovative menu options. I'm hoping that this review with stay!

1901 - you outdid yourself. I visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday with a group of 7 women. Each of us ordered something different and we all loved our meal. The prices l, the atmosphere, our waitress Vicky (outstanding) took care of us and we never had to wait. Also, THE BEST BREAD PUDDING I've ever had other than my moms We cannot wait to return - THANK YOU!

1901 is a very nice spot in Oxnard, yes in Oxnard. The restaurant has a very nice space for outside dining complete with a nice water wall for relaxation. I ordered the Spaghetti which was very rich and was quite tasty. It did not refrigerate well though. There were two younger kiddos with us and they were served first and enjoyed their dinners and some tasty French fry's. Service was excellent and prompt. After dinner we enjoyed a nice concert in the bar preformed by "Ticket to Ride". They are Beatles impersonators and were excellent. If you are ever in that neck of the world, you would probably enjoy your visit.

    Seafood linguine

We're coming back! The best seafood linguine I've ever had; the clams, mussels salmon and scallops were oh my goodness great. I can't eat shrimp and the chef was able to pass them along to my dinner mates. Had mussels with bread-yum. Very nice of the waiter to keep the bread basket full. Yummy drinks. Both of my mates had the sea bass. I had enough linguine for a couple meals. The space was tight; old Victorian house. Despite moving to another chair my mate was still climbed over by the staff getting to the bread and dessert station. I watched as a hungry waiter sliced the bread and ate a piece. We skipped dessert and went for McConnell ice cream.

    Gnocchi & Lasagna

My friend and I were in search of Italian food and found this to be just the spot. They were booked in the restaurante section however, were able to seat us right away in the speakeasy. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating to us despite us not having a reservation. Despite being in the speakeasy we were still able to order from the restaurant menu. We ordered the lasagna & gnocchi which were both delicious! We ended our dinner with an order of the Tiramisu. The tiramisu was a great portion and definitely shareable for two.

When I first arrived, I was a bit confused. Let me explain: the downstairs area is a beautiful speakeasy, and somehow we ended up there initially, even though we had reservations for the restaurant upstairs. We only realized this after asking the bartender. It turns out you actually pass through the speakeasy to reach the restaurant. Once we made it upstairs, we were impressed--the restaurant was spotless, and the staff were fantastic. The food we ordered was phenomenal! From the duck to the lasagna, everything was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous enough to have leftovers for the next day's dinner. I highly recommend this place! If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be back!

The lamb and the best l've ever had

Just recently discovered this place and WOWZERS! From the moment we walked in... excellent hospitality. Vickie was our waitress and she was GREAT! We ordered the porterhouse steak and the rack of lamb. Best dinner of the year. It was all cooked to perfection and pair with a great glass of wine. After dinner we walked downstairs to their speakeasy bar were we enjoyed some really nice libations and their live music around their fireplace. Definitely my new favorite spot. Worth the $$$

Attentive, professional, and somehow always there right when we needed her without hovering. Started with a Cadillac margarita and yes... it was balanced, refreshing, and dangerous in the "I could have two more" way. Love that they add the Grand Marnier on the side, as they should. Food rundown because everything deserved its moment: * Diavola pizza: the crust?? perfect. Light, crisp, slightly chewy, all the things. Ingredients tasted fresh fresh. The calabrese + crushed red pepper combo had a nice kick without doing too much. * Romana salad: not your basic salad. The speck, artichokes, goat cheese, pine nuts... it's giving main character energy. * Beef carpaccio: super tender, bright from the lemon, and balanced with the arugula + parm. Clean and simple in the best way. * Arancini: crispy outside, cheesy center, sitting in that tomato sauce like they know they're the favorite. Overall vibe: cozy but elevated, great service, and food that actually lives up to the menu descriptions (rare). Only complaint? I'm already planning my next visit.

The staff in the kitchen was equally skilled, and my family will be returning to try more of their menu. We shared a variety of dishes. The deviled eggs and bacon plate started the meal, and while the deviled eggs were well done, the bacon tasting plate was both a delicious and unique dish that I strongly recommend. We tried the pancakes (perfectly fluffy), the chicken and waffles (the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and a delicious crunch as well on the Parmesan crust), and the Eggs Benedict (well executed, and I intend to explore their three other variations when I go back) Finally, the price was reasonable for everything, and frankly cheaper than I expected for the quality of food and service. There are many restaurants competing for attention and business at Immigrant Son Caffe's price point and, having been to many of them, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. The menu had a nice selection of primarily savory options that made it hard to narrow down as everything sounded so good. Ultimately, I ended up going with the "Caffe Breakfast" ($19) which came with 2 eggs, my choice of bacon and season potatoes, along with a slice of ciabatta. Everything was delicious, but my favorite item on the plate actually ended up being their house made berry jam. It was so good paired with their perfectly crusty ciabatta bread! We also ordered the "Breakfast Charcuterie" as an appetizer which was beautifully plated. I loved the toasted focaccia and it was so fun getting to top your own bread with the sunny side up egg, creamy cheese options, fresh avocado, smoked salmon, pickled red onions, calabrian chili crunch, and pickled pistachios. While I didn't get to try their toasts, our table also ordered their "Salmon Avocado Toast" ($19) and their "Avocado Pomodoro Toast" ($18). Each dish was so aesthetically pleasing. I only wish the portions were a little bigger as everything felt on a bit on the smaller side and we all left still feeling like we could have eaten more. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the food and our experience at Immigrant Son Caffe. The restaurant was clean and inviting, the wait staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. If you're not an early riser, be prepared to wait though. When we arrived closer to 8:45am on a holiday weekday, we were able to get seated right away and there were only a few tables occupied. However, when we left closer to 9:45am, there was already a line formed outside that wrapped around the side of the building.

I wasn't expecting a restaurant to be so full on a Tuesday night, but when you're as good as Ottavio's you develop a loyal following of locals who enjoy their time here. Many celebrations were obviously being had in just our little portion of the restaurant. There are multiple rooms, accommodating various sized parties, and the hot, delicious Italian faire just kept coming. Fresh, warm bread was delivered with our water and we dove into that doughy deliciousness strait away. Hubs went with a 50/50 plate of spaghetti and cheese ravioli with a meat sauce and added meatballs. I snuck a bite of the meatballs and they were very good, as was the sauce. I opted for the Tortellini Silvana, which was described as cheese tortellini w/sauteed chicken, fresh spinach, basil and sun dried tomato cream sauce. It was FABulous! Light and delicate sauce with full flavor. A generous portion, I took about 1/2 home! Our entrees each came with a choice of soup or salad. Hubs chose Italian Wedding and I went with Minestrone.
