I see the last person who left a review was 2 months ago and it was terrific. That's about the time I went and it was really good. What the heck happened to this place? The service was not friendly....they don't have garlic bread anymore. Italian place? No garlic bread? Instead they only have store bought rolls. The meatballs were those little ones you can buy in the frozen section of the grocery store. I know their taste very well. That's what they were. Ravioli. Again, store bought. If I want store bought I'll buy them myself. These were so obviously reheated in a microwave it's stupid. Parts of the raviolis were hard and a had just a tiny amount of filling. Part of the spaghetti noodles hard & mushy. I detect more microwave cooking here too. Does anyone know what happened to them? It's such a shame as it used to be a prime dining experience. Whenever me and my husband go to Little Tony's the owner Javier and his family are so sweet and welcoming. I jokingly call him Mr. Little Tony. The food is so bomb with great portion sizes. Their lasagna is bomb and my husband gets it almost every time. All of their pasta is great, especially if you get the spaghetti with meat sauce. Usually I think of spaghetti is kind of boring but something about Little Tony's is just better. The pizza and cheesy bread is great. I also LOVE their Italian sub. I don't actually know if it's on their menu or they just make it for me, but it's my favorite sandwich in the world! The rest of my party commented on how much they enjoyed their dishes (pizza and chicken parm). However, my chicken marsala was by far the worst version of this dish I have ever eaten. The marsala had the consistency and appearance of grey gravy with small cut mushrooms. It almost looked congealed and seemed more akin to something scooped out of a can that something make from scratch. I scraped off the "marsala" to eat the chicken breast. I would have sent it back but we had already waited far too long. Our waitress was great and very attentive...if not for her top-notch service I would've ranked this as a single star. Oh my goodness! I love this restaurant. It was just what I was looking for. I was visiting and staying at a hotel where the food was highly overpriced. I decided to look around the the area and I found Little Tony's. I'm Italian and I love an old style Italian restaurant, including the hanging wine bottles, fake grapes on the wall and leather booths. This place did not disappoint. It was so good we went there two nights in a row. The clam linguine, chicken parmigiana and the pizza were all excellent. We also loved the antipasto. The service was fast and friendly. It's our first time here.We're not local but we have our beach house here,So today we decided to give it a try and it's worth it. My husband got half spaghetti & beef ravioli with marinara sauce and I got linguini with clams sauce (White).Food might take a lil longer but it's worth to wait though,Pasta cooked perfect and the portion were huge! Both of our dish came with dinner salad and we chose Italian dressing.My husband like it but for me the dressing was too vinegary for me.The complimentary bread are warm and fresh and delicious! Staffs are nice and take good care of us. Are we coming back? Definitely! Next time we're around,This place is our new favorite go-to spot. I cannot believe we have been sleeping on this hidden gem for so long. My fiancé and I absolutely adore the warm and classic esthetic and thoroughly enjoy the classic hits that they play. I love their pizza (ask for the thick crust, if that's your thing) and he always gets the seafood linguini but to be honest, we've never had a bad meal. I got there eggplant Parmesan. It was really super good. Very cheesy. The red sauce was perfect. The service is so friendly. It's not that busy when we went so she was able to chat with us and we talked about how it was years ago. Also, the restaurant is very clean. The boost were in great condition. Some places that we've been the booth that cracked or cut or something, but these were Primo. Love having the wine craft or whatever you call them hanging from the ceiling. The moment I walked in, I was hit with that musty dusty grandma's house from the 70's smell! Got a glass of Cab that tasted like it had been opened for a long time. Clam Chowder tasted bland from a can. Salad was lack luster. Dinner rolls were ok. Fettuccine Alfredo was also bland. Lasagna was decent. Came here for dinner on my first day as a resident of Oxnard. One of my neighbors, Tony, who is an Italian from Turin said he likes this restaurant for the quality and the prices. I figured if an Italian transplant says the food is good then it is worth trying. The restaurant is no frills. The decor is reminiscent of the pizza parlor feel with spacious seating. They serve beer & wine featuring the typical Italian table reds, a glass for $7 or an entire bottle for $28 to $34. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs & the girlfriend had the veal with mushroom. She chose the Clam chowder soup and i had the Minestrone. I feel the minestrone was on point while the clam chowder was a tad watery. The portion size was big, that's for sure. I would NEVER recommend this place! I ordered chicken cacciatore and chicken Marsala (both came with choice of pasta) so I ordered linguini and received penne and both pastas came with Marinara on top. Smh! I received NO silverware, (we are staying in a hotel) NO butter for our bread, NO napkins and I requested a water and didn't receive that either. My plate looked like a pile of dog throw up. (See pics) The Marsala also tasted like a thick flour gravy.. When I called and spoke to the manager he said I DID receive linguini and tried to explain what linguini was & stated they don't even have penne LOL! Aren't you an ITALIAN restaurant?! States you are in your business name..CLEARLY you do have penne! Apparently, as he stated, "they don't provide silverware for orders, will not provide drinks, entrees come with that pasta and sauce and butter is upon request" lol! So you don't provide utensils for TO-GO ORDERS? Haha, got it. Absolute WORST customer service and we will never order from there again or refer family or friends in the area. read more

Called in our take out order and asked what desserts they had, guy said he had to check, comes back on and says, "NO desserts for take out." Cute place inside, but just ok food. Got the manicotti and lasagna which didn't have much flavor. It comes with very large bread rolls that are good, but we paid extra for the garlic bread but it was old, hard and not much garlic flavor. Good anti-pasta salad, good ranch but the Italian was just that full oil type with little else to it. read more

Update: I had been wanting a good pizza so me and the family ordered a few pizzas. The first one Canadian bacon and 2nd pepperoni. The pep was burnt to a crisp. I flipped it over to see and it was bad!! I called in and they apologized and asked if the top was burnt cause usually they both are. Nope not this time. They offered a replacement and I said ok. Went back to get pizza and this one is burnt also. I'm not going to call back again! Lesson learned! Officially removing little Tony's off of our pizza places. read more

This place is a hidden gem, unfortunately I never noticed it until last week. My wife and I got a large pizza that took us a few days to polish off, which was delicious. They also give a wonderful amount of delicious dinner rolls and a soup with each meal, of which the soup is just like grandma's homemade! We didn't have to wait long for the soup and the dinner came as we were finishing the soup. The lasagna was delicious, the ravioli was awesome, and the kids spaghetti my daughter got is big enough to make a few meals, with noodles about 20 inches long and succulent sauce! I was quite impressed. As for the interior, the place feels superbly warm and inviting, as a proper Italian restaurant SHOULD! It has murals of Lake Cuomo adorning the walls, those classic fake vines and canopies above the booths, and good old Frank Sinatra playing on the speakers. Well, how do I say this? I've been Oxnard native for 40 years and this restaurant has always been a little staple of my childhood but last night I went and I have to say it needs a complete makeover in the kitchen and outside the kitchen. Some items that we requested were not in stock, and my boyfriend got the veal Parmesan, which was obviously reheated from frozen and was very tough to eat. We checked it out for dinner and just to let you know, the parking lot is kinda scary lol There's a dark alley nearby and I feel like should run haha. But once you're inside, it's really small, cozy and safe lol They have some fresh bread rolls to start which is nice but wasn't memorable. The spaghetti and meatballs I ordered came in large portions and who doesn't love big meatballs? They were delish! I forgot what my coworker had (some pasta thing with eggplant?) but it looked good too. Great prices for authentic Italian food. Our server checked up on us frequently but probably because it was us and another group in the restaurant.
