Took truck here but he's very disorganized. You can't just take your car there if it needs to stay overnight. He wants it simple just take him your carb by itself. There's many other places and they welcome you in . Bad bad customer experience. Don't waist your time here, I will never go there again considering there's so so many carburetor places. I was referred to Freddy's by Mike Sr. at McMillen's garage. Initially I was supposed to talk to Felix, but since Felix was busy...Miguel helped me. I explained my dilemma (car stalls at red lights and stops, but works fine when it is accelerating or moving), and Miguel pulls my car into the garage and investigates the codes and engine. Miguel confirms what Mike Sr. at McMillen's assumed, that it was indeed the EGR valve. But after taking the EGR valve apart, Miguel says there is no need to replace it but shows me where the issue is. Apparently a piece of carbon solidified and was jammed up in the EGR valve. So it just needed to be cleared/cleaned, and he even had a guy from the local auto parts store bring in an EGR valve filter to avoid this problem from happening again. Miguel was awesome. He explained the issue, told me how he was going to fix it and advised me of the costs. The costs were way less than what I thought it would be, because we didn't have to replace the EGR valve...but just clean it. He also told me I had other emissions codes that could wait, but if I am due for a smog, I should go get them fixed when I could afford it. He did not try to upsell me or anything. I was referred to Freddy's by another repair shop which I prefer. I needed a charcoal canister replaced in my 1999 Corolla and had the part with me. Felix quoted me a very reasonable rate to do the work. I went on a Saturday mid-morning and was immediately attended to. It took Felix less than an hour to get the part replaced and even offered to reset the CEL light. My SMOG test was due a couple of days later and passed with no problems. I would gladly head back to Freddy's if there was work that needed done on my car. They are very honest and judging by the cleanliness of the work place very organised. read more

I brought in my car for a smog check, I left them the key to do what they had to do. I went into Sky Burger to wait as I ate my breakfast noticing that there place was empty and still they hadn't taken my car in. An hour after I finish eating, I ask them if they had finished my car and he says, no that he was barely going to take it in. Fk that, I came down the street and they took my car in right away. read more

I too was referred here by mike sr at McMillens. Felix helped me out with my catalytic converter and saved me a bunch of money by using CA certified parts that would pass smog. Since they are also a smog shop and I need a smog test I'll be back next week once the converter is broken in and as long as it passes this will stay a 5 star review. Also like others have said very cleanly and organized and the guys aren't pushy or obnoxious. Just professional hard working guys. read more
