No other shops in town would touch something so old so James to the rescue. He was willing to try old fashioned fixes rather than just throwing parts at the car which I always appreciate. In the end his prices were fairly reasonable considering it's alaska, and he got my jeep back on the road! Only downmarks at all if you can call it that is sometimes communication can be a bit slow. But know I can be an over communicator so I'll share some blame there. Overall would recommend!

It wasn't a big deal for me because I didn't need my car but it was annoying to not know what to expect. The hours aren't always correct but using the phone number to set up an appointment works just fine. The work wasn't particularly cheap, but car stuff can be expensive so I don't think that reflects on the business.

When I pointed this out to the owner, he pushed the broken pieces back into place, and told me "it's fine". At this point, unbidden the mechanic some over and said, "I didn't do that". I said ok but it wasn't broke when I dropped it off, and the owner told me to go to hell. I said I wouldn't be back, he said fuck you, he would write my name down so I couldn't come back. After just dropping 570 on a water pump. Easy as an apology and I would have been fine. What incredibly bad service.

And of course I didn't have a jumper box. Had a cabbie jump it and then I drove it over to these guys, in a panic expecting the worst. (This car's alternator dumped on me within 6 months of driving it off the lot and it has always had battery drain issues so I was paranoid.) The guys at Alaska Auto Repait quickly figured out the issue and charged it up at no cost without any mocking (I was doing that for myself plenty enough). They sure made this dumb girl in distress feel a lot better and they didn't even bat an eye. I will alwaslys recommend them for their kindness and great service, which has been my experience with them two other times when I have brought it in for repairs.

I also have family members who live here and have purchased several vehicles from them without any issues. Kyle and the rest of the staff are fantastic. I find the reviews below extremely inaccurate, considering my experience and my families experiences. But as someone who owns a business, it's pretty typical of people with entitled attitudes to write things that are completely inaccurate just because they weren't handed everything on a silver platter.

If you leave a message, there's a 100% chance nobody's calling you back. I've tried for years and I've gotten through to somebody named Greg one time who is, less than brilliant we'll say. You have to drive down there and when you do there's likely nobody there anyway. I'm not even sure they have people working in those departments. Nobody has any idea what they're doing at this dealership. Stay far away.
