I went with what they call a Colorado Cheeseburger meal, the Beef is Flame-Grilled, with my favorite Cheese, Swiss Cheese, and there's Jalapeños in it. There's nothing more All-American than a Cheeseburger. The Cheeseburger was better than expected, it was flavorful, seasoned well, so juicy, and the juices were dripping everywhere. And there's some Heat, to it. The French Fries were exceptional as well. But it tasted like a frozen burger. It was dry and grey inside. Also it had too much salt. The fries were the opposite. They had no taste. There was no salt or seasonings. I decided to try this place since a one of my favorite YouTubers mentioned it and he said that the burgers are really good here. He went to the one in Sacramento, but I went to the one in San Jose since I reside in the Bay Area. Another location is at Fairfield. The restaurant doesn't really have any customers when I arrived. It was really empty. Workers started preparing meals as soon as I ordered and along with other customers, who came here not that long ago. The burger is very good though. I can really tell that it's done well with the way the texture looks. The fries are very thin but crispy at the same time. Basically, this is a very underrated restaurant and it deserves more recognition. Hopefully, business owners do something about it other than promoting it on social media. This is definitely a burger spot. The burger looked aesthetically pleasing. It tasted flavorful juicy. It's an enjoyable burger, and those days that I want a burger like that I will try them again. It's a solid pic for a burger spot. The milkshake it was lacking. I ordered a vanilla milkshake and it just felt like it was just milk and ice cream and cream on the top. Some people don't realize this but milk isn't sweet milk is just milk. Ice cream is sweet so when you mix milk with ice cream it's like added water to ice cream. There's no flavor to the milk. It's just what it is mixed with the ice cream so that's exactly what it taste like. A nice burger joint! I've been to this location few times and it's been pretty consistent in food. Service is fast and food is fresh. I love their chicken sandwich and it's up there, but arguably not the best. However, I really like the buns they use which is why I like to go back here. Their fries are thin cut and I like their bacon cheese fries. We tried their wild fries, which is similar to in n outs animal style fries, but my fiance and I aren't a huge fan of it. I get the lettuce wrapped chicken sandwich and it's one of my favorite things to order for lunch. It's so easy to order online for pick up walk over from my office and grab it to go or eat it in the square outside under the veranda of flowers such a vibe I love their french fries as well. The day I got back from Lexington KY I got picked up from the airport and was starving thanks to some delays. This was the closest place we could find that had a little food for everyone. The service here is always friendly and attentive. The food is always grilled fresh or fried on the spot the moment you order is when they start cooking. The place is very spacious and booths are clean. The fries are so yummy that salt is not needed and the meat portions to me are overwhelming as they give you a generous portions and I can never finish my sandwich. The negative reviews are accurate. The service here has deteriorated significantly. For example, I recently placed an ubereats order for pick-up, and they confirmed my order - I got to the store and the lady said they cancelled it because they were closing soon, but I could still order with them directly if I wanted. Then why confirm the order in the first place only to cancel it during store hours?? Unbelievable. This is becoming a pattern now, and so they've lost my business entirely. I came in on a Tuesday evening & was craving a really good burger and decided to give this place a try. I will say, this place did not disappoint at all. I ordered their cheeseburger combo and swapped out the regular fries for the wild fries (they're topped with cheese, grilled onions & house sauce). Their house sauce is very unique and nothing like I've ever tried or tasted before. It has an interesting kick at the end, but it is honestly one of those sauces that you either like it or you don't. I really enjoyed the fact that the patty had the char marks similar to the one's you see on tv lol. The burger was pretty juicy and seasoned nicely. Most of the staff was friendly, however the cashier flipped the switch when the guy from Aramark showed up. She kept saying it was her boyfriend he just didn't know it. Fred's is newer to this area near the San Jose airport. I've been waiting to try it, and it certainly did not disappoint! One thing that really stood out to me from the first bite was the even amount of sauce coating not just the bottom bun, but also the top one! This was such a small detail that just elevated what at first seemed like a typical burger. The meat patty did not have any overly burnt flavor and lacked the common gaminess found in other local burger joints, being a huge plus in flavor and making it very decent as well. It was a simple order, but it was executed very well. Every layer seemed intentional and delivered in whole what I believe was a solid burger. I was also impressed by the respectful and speedy service. I was recognized promptly and received my order in a timely manner. In terms of the store, I would say it was very clean and well kept when I went in to grab lunch. "Fred's Burger" is an excellent choice for a burger . The standard cheese burger is fresh and comes with a quarter pound beef on a soft toasted bun, with spread, onions, tomatoes, and crisp lettuce. I got the combo which came with thin crispy and well seasoned fries (some of the best I've had), a side of special sauce to dip into, and a medium drink you fill yourself. This definitely a great value when you compare it to a fast food option, like the McDonald's quarter pounder combo which only provides you a small fries and a small drink at the same price point.
