10/10! Found this place on TikTok looking for "the best burgers in Atlanta" and with many spots being closed on Monday this was an automatic yes! The burgers were fresh and flavorful. The fries were also awesome, we order the ranch fries and plain fries. The service was great and the person taking our order was quite helpful. Inside Krog Street food hall so you do have to find a place to eat but great spot that you can walk around the Beltline right after.

This was my first visit here and it won't be the last. This place was delicious. The customer service was good. And the food was fresh and came out super fast. We ordered the garlic Parmesan fries, a burger, and the Korean cheese steak. I'm typically a picky eater when it comes to onions and other toppings on my sandwich. I decided to order it as is at the suggestion of the cashier and I am so glad I listened to her. The restaurant is located in Krog street market. You are able to enjoy your food at the bar, additional seating in the dining hall or you can take it to go.

Best fries in my life I normally would never do a Yelp review for a one-time visit but literally the old bay seasoned fries with tartar sauce were nearly life changing. I've eaten many fries in my life but these literally were the best ever. Thick cut, I was surprised that they were fried to perfection. No thick fry mush. Pro-tip: Skip the line and order online for pickup. Staff was friendly on pickup and I didn't have to stand around for 30 minutes. Bonus is that their burger is also fab. I had both to-go and planned on devouring hours later but my sample of the fries made me go all in on them. I had half the burger on the run and it was really pretty darn perfect too. Great vibe in the food hall. I'll be back again soon but this review could not wait.

Stumbled upon this cheesesteak shop at Krog Market Street and learned that they appeared on Michelin Bib Gourmand! Even though they're famous for their cheesesteak, I still prefer their Blackened Salmon better because of the peppery spicy taste, juicy salmon patty, and fresh and nutty arugula. Plus, $12.25 is pretty worth it IMO for a salmon burger *that* good. Will definitely be back for the burger! They have an online ordering system or an in-person ordering. Either way, you can grab your food and sit at their 4-stool counter or head outside for some fresh air and sunlight.

I heard about Fred's in Krog so wanted to try it! I had their Korean cheesesteak and I definitely enjoyed it! I think their steak is more of a bulgogi style. Though one thing about it is that it's not evenly spiced. Most of it wasn't too spicy, but there was a few meats in the middle one of the sandwich half that was quite spicy.

Okay the cheesesteak was BOMB! Bread was super soft and the chopped cheese was very much chopped and cheesy! I also got a side of just regular fries and they were also good! Service was friendly and pretty quick. It's located inside Krogg which is nice but you know the weekends can be busy!

WOW! Don't be scared and try that Korean steak Philly because it is like NO OTHER! I took a risk and it was the best decision yet! Incredible how the fusion complements each other between that sesame bread! Fries were perfectly crisp and steak style! Definitely enough to serve two! You know you've hit a gem when it's got the longest line of the food hall! FYI For those who consider the burger we were advised to stick to the Philly's! The vibe was it and the staff worked efficiently to bang the orders out!

After all the years I've been coming to Krog Street Market, I finally tried Fred's Meat & Bread--and I was not disappointed. The service was great. The young lady at the front was especially helpful since it was my first time. She walked me through the menu and helped me decide on the Korean cheesesteak. You can choose chicken or ribeye, and of course I went with ribeye because I'm definitely a steak girl. Naturally, I had to get fries. They have so many good options: hand-cut fries, garlic fries & ranch, pommes frites with aioli, Old Bay fries with tartar sauce, and truffle Parmesan fries with aioli. I went with the Old Bay fries, and that seasoning was the perfect touch. Both the cheesesteak and the fries were a total home run. I opted out of the jalapeños, but there was still a slight kick--just a heads up if you're not into spice. Still, it was absolutely delicious and very filling. I happily saved the second half for the next day. I'm so glad I finally decided to try Fred's, and I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu.

Fred's is a 1 of 1 everything I've tried here has been great. The line to order was very long as it was a Saturday but it moved quickly and I didn't wait long for my order either. Cheesesteak was great. The fries are good if you don't like thick cut fries or skins you won't like their fries. There is not alot of seating but this location is inside of the Krog street market where there is additional seating at the front of the building.

Nice sandwich spot in Krog Street Market. There was quite a line and wait time due to its popularity, but was worth the wait. The Italian grinder was flavorful and a great portion size. The cheesesteak fell a bit flat for me as I couldnt see that much cheese in it. Top it all off with the fries on the side, I was struggling to finish as it was a filling meal. Will be interested to try their other sandwiches next time.

Fred's Meat & Bread is located inside the Krog Street Market, an excellent venue that showcases many small businesses and the like. Dee wanted to show us a portion of Atlanta, and she mentioned that she liked the burgers that Fred's offers. Neal and I were open to anything that we couldn't find in Virginia, so off we went Ponce Street Market and proceeded to walk from Ponce Street to Krog Street. For the Hampton Roads, VA locals, Fred's is reminiscent of the old Norfolk Waterside and its many eateries. Fred's is small - just big enough for a kitchen and front counter. There is some bar seating, but there is community seating inside Krog Street Market (this venue used to be a factory for making stoves). We arrived just before a lunch rush, so our wait wasn't long. Dee had the cheesesteak (which was massive and full of sliced ribeye), Neal had the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, and I had the Burger Stack. We split an order of Garlic Fries - Neal was the only one who actually finished his sandwich. Fred's puts out some quality food and, despite the hot and humid weather, it was worth the 1.3 mile walk. I was ready to call it a day, but Neal and I still had to head over to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for VT v. South Carolina! Regardless, this was a memorable and fun time, and Fred's had a lot to do with that. Thank you, Fred's! JV

Customer service 10/10 all the girls were so sweet and attentive to the customers at the counter and whilst taking orders. Line moved quick. I loved the set up of their shop, you could see your order coming up. They had stools at the counter so you could sit right there it was very inviting. I am so sad I didn't just get the blackened salmon sandwich, the man next to me ordered it and when it came out my heart broke it smelt so hotlanta goodt!!! The italian grinder, the bread was phenomenal and the spicy peppers added some jazz to it but the vinegar on the sandwich outweighed all the other ingredients. The fries were so yummy! I like mine a bit more crisp but the flavor was there, next time i need two ranches! i will definitely be back to try their other options! Also super affordable!

I ordered the Korean cheesesteak with ribeye and the garlic fries. The cheesesteak was spicy but in a good way. The meat was tender and had a lot of flavor. The garlic fries are good but you better love garlic. You can smell the fries coming before they get to you. Everything was good though and I would eat here again. read more

Was on the Beltline and finally stopped into the food hall that houses the infamous Fred's. As an Asian-fusion enthusiast, the Korean ribeye cheesesteak was the obvious choice. I think my check came out to a little less than $20 without any fries or drinks which I thought was a bit steep for a sandwich, but the cheesesteak was a good side and the ingredient quality helped me quickly understand. After ordering at the counter, my food was packaged and given to me in under 10 minutes which i appreciated. Luckily, we found some space at the picnic type tables to enjoy our sandwich! I will start with my expectation of the cheesesteak having a sweet, bulgogi flavor but this sandwich was actually very savory and spicy. The bread was nice and soft, the meat very tender, and the spice very bold and built up slowly as I continued to eat the sandwich. My friend ended up getting a pepper and had to run and grab a drink to put the fire out! Took the other half home and it reheated well. Bread stayed soft and adding mayo did it some justice in cooking it down. Overall, I'd try something else on the menu next time probably. read more

The Korean cheesesteak, regular cheesesteak, double stack burger, fries are all amazing. The service is order at the counter but is quick. The Krog Street Market is a cool and has other good choices. Seating is difficult to find. read more

I went to Fred's Meat & Bread with my boyfriend, and it was a 10/10 experience! We did have to wait in line and for our food, but it was absolutely worth it. Next time, I'd probably order ahead if I knew that's where we were eating at Krog Market. I got the Italian Grinder, and I wouldn't have changed a single thing about it. It was flavorful, saucy, and perfectly balanced. We also ordered the garlic fries with ranch, which were delicious and packed with spices. My only critique is that the ranch portion was way too small for the generous amount of fries. If extra ranch costs more, it would be nice if they mentioned that up front or included a little more with the order. Overall, though, the food was fantastic and I'd definitely go back! read more

OK, first of all let me say this is the first time I've been here, but I have seen reviews on yelp and also YouTube so I was really excited to try this place. First of all the ambience because it's a warehouse that has a bunch of little restaurants in it it's pretty cooland it's pretty busy overall. so I was a little not so excited when I found out that they didn't have steak. They had ran out and only had chicken so I decided to have the chicken Philly and the garlic fries and I also had a crush grape soda that was pretty good. The food overall was OK. I'm not a big chicken Philly person wish they would've had the steak and didn't run out so early so I will have to go back and try it again someday but it was OK I'll put a picture so you can see it. Hopefully next time I can get steak so I can get them a little bit better review but there was a lot of people so somebody likes it so check it out if you are in this area. read more

This is located in the Krog Street Food hall, so it's a pretty chill spot. I have seen and passed this place a million times and never stopped to eat. Plus, the line is always outrageous. One Friday I got there early and was able to place an order. I got the Korean Chicken Cheesesteak and the garlic fries. My niece suggested the fries and if I'm honest, I wasn't that impressed. I do believe in second chances, so I went seriously early and the owner, Fred, was there and convinced me to try the fries again! OMG! Delicious!! Definitely on my list for fast, casual and delicious food in Atlanta! read more

I'm not sure I understand hype around this place. After hearing many great reviews from friends, family, etc I was definitely expecting to be blown away. The cheesesteak was fine. I liked that there was plenty of cheese, however, there was nothing special about this sandwich. The hand cut fries were made well which I did appreciate. It was good to check off the list, but probably won't return. At least any time soon. read more

Ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and was not disappointed. The shrimp were ok size and had nice cornmeal crust giving it a crunch. The shrimp were nicely seasoned and they were not dry at all. The lettuce was crispy and the Remoulade was creamy and a little sweet which went very well with the tang of the pickles. I dont know if there was some pickle vinaigrette or brine but the sandwich had a nice pickle taste which went very well with the shrimp. The bread was slightly buttery with a crunchy exterior and soft interior to it. I would def order the po boy again. read more

I ordered the Ribeye Korean cheesesteak and it was savory, flavorful, and with just the right amount of kick. The steak is tender, the melted cheese ties it all together, and the spice sneaks up in the best way. Definitely not your average cheesesteak. This place is in the middle of Krog St Market, so it's pretty loud hectic and can be hard to hear them call your name when your order is ready unless you stand right in front of the establishment. The cheesesteak came out pretty fast even though there was a long line so that's always a plus. Knowing that this place is on the Michelin guide I feel like I had to try. The cheesesteak can get a bit messy so be prepared to have napkins handy. Still, I'd gladly come back for another round if I'm in the area. Solid flavor bomb. read more

I love taking my friends visiting from out-of-state here and they love it too! Located at Krog St Market on the beltline, so it's always on the itinerary. Krog St and the Beltline are a vibe. The sandwiches are huge, I'd say two portions in one. You can also grab beer from Hop City brewery to enjoy with your sandwich. The Korean cheesesteak is always a hit. I would suggest getting it with chicken because the marinade is traditionally on chicken in korean cuisine. The burger is also amazing!! It will put you in a good mood. read more

I heard that this place had the best burger in Atlanta, so I had to try it. In a city with a ton of great burgers, that statement can't be ignored. Is the burger good? Yes. Is it the best burger in Atlanta? Not in my useless opinion. lol. I should've listened to the lady in line with me and ordered the cheesesteak. I would give the burger 3.5/5. the food is usually great but today the cheesesteak was more cheese than steak, but above that the service was not top tier... I was not greeted and instead was asked "what do you want ",When i received my food it was tossed down at the bar and the server walked away with no words. i'm truly disappointed because i love their food and usually the service is great. We shared: Burger Stack - american cheese, bread & butter pickles, & mayo Korean Cheese steak - gochujang sauce, american cheese, candied jalapenos, garlic aioli, & green onions Italian Grinder - salami, mortadella, pork shoulder, provolone, tomato, iceberg lettuce, garlic aioli, cherry peppers, oil & vinegar I would recommend any of these sandwiches. The common denominator across all three that impressed me was the bread - not dry, not too much, and structural integrity. My personal favorite was the cheeseburger. I don't know what beef blend they use but the flavor is so pronounced, seasoned, and delicious. The garlic fries were excellent in garlic flavor and texture. No issues with service. Good luck finding a table. read more

Must get: Kimchi cheesesteak! This is, by far, the best sandwich I have had all year. Excellent food to prep for a night out, or to soak up drinks if you get it later on. Service was good and wait time was appropriate for all of the stalls in Krog Market. The stall's aesthetic is cute and vaguely retro, I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable sandwich. read more

The best spot inside of Krog Street Market. Fred's burgers are simplistic yet delicious, sandwiches are fat and flavorful, and their garlic fries are mindblowing. Unreal, good cheesesteak, sliced up prime rib, very multi American cheese, sautéed onions, nice bun that holds it together, but doesn't get in the way. I also got the old bay fries with a side of ranch, those are delicious as well. Fast easy service at the kiosk, and then social tables nearby. Highly recommend. read more

I really love the vibe of Krog Street Market, and Fred's had the longest line so of course I had to try it! I saw that Fred's got a Michelin Bib recently, so I was really excited. My friend and I split the BBQ Fries and the Philly Cheesesteak. The food took around 15 mins to come out - it was harder to find a table than we thought. We finally decided to sit outside which wasn't too bad! I thought the BBQ Fries were awesome. Each fry was so seasoned and I liked the white BBQ sauce that it came with! Wish there was more :( we were definitely running out by the end. The Philly Cheesesteak was fine. I liked how juicy the meat was but I don't think there was enough cheese - def not like an actual Philly cheesesteak. I did like the fact that it was shareable, it was even already cut in half. I got the Cheesesteak and Korean Cheesesteak. Both were good, but for a place listed on the Michelin guide, quite underwhelming. I couldn't find anything outstanding about the sandwiches nor the bread. Prices were extremely high for a cheesesteak as well. The place is in Krog Street Market right off the Beltline, so you can take a stroll after your meal. read more

The hype is REAL! These are hands down the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. The meat is perfectly seasoned, the cheese is melty and just the right amount, and the roll is soft but holds everything together perfectly. Every bite is pure heaven--definitely worth the wait. Mediocre. Went on a Monday at lunch, had a burger, the garlic fries, and the pepperoni parm. Saw every person who ordered before and after us during the lunch rush receive their food. Apparently this was because of the pepperoni chicken parm, which wasn't worth the wait at all. The cheese was all smushed to one side and the chicken wasn't crispy. The garlic fries are covered in the herb and garlic mixture, which doesn't sound bad except they were so wet they weren't edible. I want to like Fred's as it's been around forever and I've liked it in the past, but I just left feeling sick to my stomach and annoyed when I could go to somewhere like Hero Boy or Baldinos and get good quality food that isn't over priced. read more

Well, as a Philadelphia native I must give credit where credit is due. This steak was surprisingly delicious! The fries were a bit salty for my liking though. The customer service was great. They had two guys working the counter and both were very polite and knowledgeable when it came to explaining the ingredients for the options we chose. This place is located inside the KROG street market food hall. This was my first time ever going to a food hall so it was a bit overwhelming (no fault of this establishment) There are just a ton of food options to choose from. The customer service was great and took about 10 mins or so get my food. I ordered the Shroom shire cheesesteak and old bay fries with the tartar sauce. The fries were the best I've ever had! I was hesitate at first because i don't care for tartar sauce but this combo is amazing. The fries were fried perfectly, generously seasoned, and large. The cheesesteak was PACKED and i also got extra cheese. It was so packed i was able to share half of a half! There are A LOT of mushrooms on this sandwich so if that's not your thing maybe ask for light because it seems like you would've thought i asked for extra mushrooms too! Update: came on a weekday and didn't have to wait to order. Only had to wait about 10 minutes for the food. My friend and I shared the shroom shire cheesesteak and garlic fries. The korean cheesesteak is definitely better and has a lot more flavor. The garlic fries were drenched in oil and garlic. Wouldn't get the shroom shire cheesesteak again. Used to love Freds..now there's a whole lotta not give a #%#k in the kitchen, even when its slow. Had to return another order today. The amigos sent out soggy garlic fries, with little garlic/butter, undercooked..with 2nd round still sucked..no love. The first time I tried to come to El Rey Del Taco, I couldn't find a parking spot. I've been back…read morethree times since then, and I understand the hype. They have quickly become my favorite place to get Mexican food. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located on Buford Highway in a small shopping plaza. The lot is medium sized, but they are sharing it with a few other businesses, and depending on the night it could definitely be hard to find a spot so keep that in mind. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!

Underwhelming Dining Experience at Fred's Meat and Bread: I recently dined at Fred's Meat and Bread, the sandwich and Philly cheesesteak spot located within Krog Street Market. Unfortunately, my experience led me to rate it two stars, and I'm hesitant to consider another visit. The sandwiches at Fred's were disappointingly dry, lacking the essential juiciness that makes a sandwich enjoyable. What's more, the flavor was far from bold and didn't deliver the anticipated punch. This lack of robust taste left much to be desired. On top of that, the fries were quite the letdown. Rather than being properly salted, they were overloaded with an excessive amount of garlic, oil, and herbs. This heavy seasoning detracted from the enjoyment of the fries. While the portion sizes were decent, offering a satisfying amount of food, it wasn't enough to offset the blandness of the sandwiches and the mishandling of the fries. Given my experience, I find it difficult to recommend a return to Fred's Meat and Bread. The lack of flavorful sandwiches and the over-seasoned fries were major letdowns. It's unfortunate that these issues marred what could have been a better dining experience. read more

While wandering through Krog District, we stumbled upon this gem. The long line outside was enough to pique our curiosity, and we're so glad we decided to check it out! I'm a huge fan of Italian sandwiches, but when I saw they offered an Italian grinder, I knew it was something special. The meat was flavorful, warm, and perfectly complemented by the bread--it had the perfect texture: not too hard, not too soft. My husband, a die-hard cheesesteak fan, was having a tough time choosing between the regular cheesesteak and the korean cheesesteak. The cashier suggested the Korean cheesesteak made with ribeye, and my husband was blown away by the bold flavors. The gochujang sauce, candied jalapeños, and garlic aioli came together perfectly. The cashier also mentioned that the garlic aioli fries were a must-try, and we did have them--they were just as delicious as promised! We sat at the counter and enjoyed our meals while soaking in the market-like atmosphere. The vibe was so welcoming, and it made our experience even more enjoyable. We're already planning our next visit and can't wait to try more of the amazing dishes. Highly recommend! read more

Marcus is the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered. A friend of mine introduced me to Yalla on Saturday and I have been here ever since. I literally came in the next day on Sunday because the food was so good. On Monday I was with my friend who introduced me to yalla and speaks very highly of the place. Prior to placing our order, my friend told me that the guy that is working at the moment (Marcus) is always very rude to him. I brushed it off. When it was our turn to order I witnessed Marcus' rude behavior first hand. I ordered a build your own wrap which I always get. Marcus decided to inform me in a very hostile way that there is a portion control for the build your own wraps. I had no problem with that but I did have a problem with his attitude. After my friend decided not to eat there anymore I cancelled my order as well. Sorry to say that a place with such great food has such a terrible employee. read more

Fred's in Krog City Market - A Must-Visit Spot in Atlanta! If you're in Atlanta and looking for an unforgettable meal, Fred's in Krog City Market is the place to be! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was absolutely top-tier--10/10. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure I had a great experience. Now, let's talk about the food! I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and it was hands down a 10/10. Packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and loaded with delicious ingredients, it was so big I could only eat half. The fries? Fresh, crispy, and just the right amount of seasoning--everything you want in a side. And to top it all off, I loved their selection of soft drinks, which added a nice touch to the meal. I recently visited Fred's Meat and Bread at the Krog St Food Hall in Atlanta, which is a Bib Gourmand spot in the Michelin Guide and highly recommended by many. I got the chicken Philly sandwich and garlic fries, and they did not disappoint. The chicken Philly was packed with cheesy goodness and tasted just like a classic Philly cheese steak. The chopped chicken had a strong peppery flavor, and the mix of cheese made the sandwich hearty--perfect for one person or a solid meal to share. Time for an update on this one; it is one of my favorite places in Krog Street market. My go-to is usually the Cheesesteak, this is typically a winner I got the fries this go around with a Cheerwine. I have to say that the cheesesteak has lost a step, from a 4-star to a 3-star. Don't get me wrong, it's still good but in the age when prices are going up on everything $15.75 for just a sandwich can be a hard call for some. The fries were just average and Cheerwine Is always a winner. As with some of the other reviews have mentioned parking over here can be a pain sometimes.. If you stop by make sure to pay a visit to Yalla which is nearby. read more

The Burger Stack is an absolute classic. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the burger was cooked juicy and tender -- truly done to perfection. Out all the restaurants inside the krog street market Fred's meat & bread seemed to have the hugest crowd ! The name speaks for itself, and they alway deliver very delicious food. They have many different varieties of sandwiches. From your traditional cheeseburger and cheesesteak to Korean fried chicken sandwich with spicy kimchi slaw. The Korean chicken was very evenly crispy and crunch and the kimchi added a great spicy to go along with the sandwich. Their fries were also very good season just right with salt. Went to the Krog District knowing we wanted to go to Freds. We got the Korean cheesteak and the burger with bacon. The burger was delicious. Crunchy pickles and lots of bacon but the star was definitely the Philly. I can't eat SUPER spicy things and this had heat but it wasn't so spicy I couldn't eat it. I live in Tampa and I have a feeling I will be back to Atlanta because I am going to crave this sandwhich! Highly reccomend. Also, the guy that helped us was SO NICE. They have a bunch of flavored bottled sodas and he guided us to the ones he liked best. I got the black cherry soda and it was SO GOOD. read more

Updating my review because I recently tried the cheesesteak. Unfortunately I was slightly disappointed. While the restaurant is called meat and bread, I was hoping for at least a little more on the cheesesteak. The cheese and onions, while delicious were dwarfed by the amounts of meat. This is generally a good thing, but it just made the sandwich a bit too oily and heavy. The bread and meat were delicious but I would have loved a bit more cheese and onions or peppers to even it out. The burger is still delicious and I would recommend that over the philly. read more

Fred's Meat & Bread absolutely lives up to the hype! The cheesesteak was incredible--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor from the first bite to the last. It's easily one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had and worth the trip on its own. While I personally wasn't a fan of the fries, the star of the show more than made up for it. Good food but service lacking. They charge you $1 for credit card but it's not posted anywhere and they don't inform you, and on top of that on my particular order they overcharge me, adding bacon on my burger without asking me and then made almost no effort to rectify the situation. read more
