It was even better fresh: oozing with cheese and flavor. The fries were so salty and delicious. The service was also great and quick. My first time here and I definitely want to come back. The service was great. My waiter was very attentive and offered a good snack recommendation. I had a very disappointing experience at H&F Burger in Old Fourth Ward. While waiting for my order, I watched a waitress take a French fry from a customer's plate at the pickup window, bite half of it, and then feed the other half to another waitress while they were both looking at pictures on a phone. That alone raised serious concerns about food handling and professionalism. The atmosphere behind the counter felt chaotic. Waitresses were loudly screaming out customer names, cups were being dropped on the floor, and the overall environment seemed disorganized. At one point, a customer asked a waitress a simple question, and she responded that she didn't know and told the customer to ask another waiter instead of taking ownership and helping. On top of that, the pricing was excessive for what was delivered. Two burgers, two fries (which were not included and cost extra), and two beers came out to about $90 with tip. The burger alone was $20, and the quality and service did not justify the price. For those prices, I expect professionalism, basic food safety, and competent customer service. Inside Ponce City market has an absolutely amazing burger spot. The burger was spot on and hit all the notes. If you're walking on the first floor of putz City market, if you go all the way to the end, you actually can't miss it. Even though it's not a big shop, it does stand out a little. It's not a typical restaurant setting, it's basically one long curvy bar top. But it works because a lot of times people are just in and out they don't want to have a full dinner setting because they're just passing through. I actually had not tried to burger before so I had to go ahead and go with what they are known for and I was not disappointed. Who doesn't love a good burger? H&F are serving up some of the best smash burgers in the Atlanta area. I like this spot in PCM, all bar/counter seating. There's plenty of seats but it does get pretty crowded at times due to the popularity of this burger. Burger and fries with a Coke will run you about $15. After being in Atlanta for a decade now, I still think it's my favorite burger in town, and holds up against some of the popular ones I've had in NYC. It is a nice, juicy burger, thick but not overstuffed, with a toasty bun, and not a lot of extra frills. It will absolutely hit the burger craving. Will everyone agree it's "the best" in town? No, because people will split hairs over differences that most people can't even discern. So please do yourself a favor and just go enjoy it.
