Spoke to Abigail on the phone and she helped me put a pair of shoes on hold for pickup today. When I came into the store I wasn't greeted, but all the girls working today were super friendly... I was worried about coming to this location because of previous bad reviews about customer service, but I genuinely had great interactions with all the girls on the sales floor. The customer service is very rude and condescending. The two associates were just talking to each other and I didn't even know if they were workers or just customers. They were not helpful and the one associate answered very coldly and condescending, didn't even bother to help out. I'll start by saying I called beforehand explaining my situation and was told it wouldn't be an issue. I had a very similar experience here with some pants I had bought that started to shred after a wash or two. Not a good shred either, along the seems so I couldn't fix it. The employees there were both super rude, saying they understood but couldn't do anything. Then called another regular employee over to "ask their opinion" who OF COURSE agreed (was she really going to disagree with her friend?!) so I had to go from really sweet to returning their attitude. After a few minutes the actual manager came over by chance (they never called her like they claimed) and she overhead our convo and said that it was fine. I get very mixed experiences, depending on who is working, but it's always between meh and very bad. Never actual good service. It's a bummer because I love FP more than I should so it's sad that this store always has me leaving very unsatisfied. read more

Fantastic Black Friday experience!! Jessica was so kind and helpful, she even brought more recommendations and sizes from the back while trying stuff on. Another worker let us know ahead of time as well that if there was an online sale on an item we were buying in store, they would price match! Thinking about my experience here still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I traveled here with friends for the weekend and the service here was completely horrible. I'm from Vegas and the Free People stores here are so much nicer than this location. The clothes here are just to die for! But the girls who were working here just had horrible horrible customer service and attitudes. I made eye contact with the same girl twice and she didn't even speak one word. When I was next to an older woman, the girl didn't hesitate to start a dressing room or even just introduce herself. I even entered the store a second time to check up on my friends and both girls didn't even speak one word. Whoever is hiring these girls needs to train them on how to match the quality of their clothes with the service. Extremely disappointing. read more

I had a great experience at Free People today. The staff were helpful and sweet. They went out of their way to find the sizes I needed and help me find what I was looking for. Some might complain about the high price, but their clothes are cute, unique and good quality. The store is clean and organized, dressing rooms are roomy with big mirrors and good light. This store is beautiful, well kept and always has such nice service. Yesterday when I came in, Kayli (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was so sweet to help me and tell me all the reasons I looked great in the jeans I tried on. I can't impulse shop so I came back today after I made up my mind to get them. Kayli remembered me and treated me so warmly. She connects with every customer that comes in making them feel like gold. Every time she talks to customers she finds a connection point and brings out the best in the customers experience. She is also really passionate about the brand which really shows in her knowledge of the product. Excellent employee! :) UPDATE: I went back and Kayli once again was the kindest person! What TERRIBLE SERVICE and from a MANAGER ( Colayla) not sure if spelled correct . Went in with some returns and a couple were about 6 months old but had tags and receipts and return policy states after 30 days you can only get merchant card ( which is fine ) but the manager said , not true and she'd make an exception this time , she was very COLD and acted like she was doing me a favor . I proceeded to shop and gathers some stuff and I get her the MANAGER again .. after she totaled me up , I decided to remove an item and OMG she acted like this was an ORDEAL and her coldness made me feel like why am I spending $400 right now ?? If she's going to be in that role that has gone to her HEAD she needs to be behind closed doors . Then I leave and get to my car and forgot to validate parking ticket but there was an on-site girl at meter . I told her my story and she asked to see receipt and let me out at no charge . Kristi at the meter turned my experience into a positive at Pacific CITY and that's what the manger should of done at FREE PEOPLE ! Now I get home with new clothes and excited to wear and the MANAGER left the security devices on the clothing !!! Now I have to go back . This location is awful... I went in this last weekend to return a pair of sunglasses I got two weeks ago. Initially when I had bought them, the lady at the front desk asked if I wanted to wear them out and I said yeah sure, why not? She proceeded to remove the tags off the sunglasses which didn't seem like a problem at the time considering I had just bought them and had all the intentions of keeping them. When I went in this last weekend I had the receipt in hand ready to return the pair thinking it would be no problem at all. I walk up to the front desk to two women, both blonde, one middle aged who I assumed was the manager, she ended up being the woman who made my experience here so so bad. I happily walk up letting the two women know my situation, receipt in hand ready to return. Instead of even asking for the receipt or anything about the return, she immediately shut me down saying their policy is absolutely no returns without the tag. I let her know that one of her employees was the one who removed the tag without even telling me I wouldn't be able to return them.... She looked at me like I was stupid and just continued to say "Yeah, no there's no way sorry hun." No remorse at all... She never even asked to look at the item or the receipt. I left the store with the worst taste in my mouth & started to cry on my way out because I didn't expect to be greeted with anger and complete rudeness. Later that day I called the Long Beach location and told the lady on the phone my situation. She let me know I can come on down whenever I'd like and return the item, regardless of the tag or not. As long as I had my receipt... Whoever runs the Huntington location should be more weary of who they hire. It's such a bad look for the brand and i'll never forget how awful that experience was. I look forward to going to the Long Beach location to get my return!!! read more

My review is long overdue. This store is my absolute favorite and why I come here all the time. Page, Scarlet, Virginia and everyone else are always super nice to me, always greet me by my name and always more than helpful. I shop a lot everywhere, I mean everywhere like South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island but never got great customer service like FP Pacific City Huntington Beach store. I live in Lakewood and drive 25 min at least once a week and know when I go there I would leave happy. I come here to return everything I buy online probably 80% the time lol but girls are never annoyed if they see me 2-3 times a week. The store also has the best clothing selection, separate sale room is huge and organized, clean and color coordinated. I visited every FP store in OC, LA, Las Vegas, San Diego area but this one is my favorite. If you wanna great shopping experience this is the place! I've worked in retail for more than five years, including high-end stores such as this store and I always made sure my clients get the help they deserve whether they buy something or not because sales associates represent the brand they work for. I went in the other night and accidentally left a shopping bag from Sephora in the Free People shop. My friend and I were the last customers in Free People that night, and the next day I called and asked if they found a sephora shopping bag in their store, and they did! Marvelous. The ladies at free people were very helpful and kind, and I retrieved the sephora bag that day- only to find one of my items missing. I had bought 2 Better Than Sex mascaras from Sephora and one of the boxes was empty. I speculate that one of the employees from Free People pinched one of my mascaras. Very disappointed read more

It sucks that some times they only have one person at the registers but as someone who orders a lot. I expect to return a lot due to sizing and styles. This location has been friendly and large.
