Best chilaquiles I have ever had in my life and the conchas were out of this world. This is the real deal. My wife told me it reminded her of her abuela's cooking. The restaurant was so clean and had a calming aesthetic. Our server was very professional and polite. Next time we are in town we are coming here. I wish I had time to try the whole menu. Such an amazing spot to have Mexican food in San Antonio. The restaurant is very busy but the waitress was super sweet and they got the coffee and food out fairly quickly. I ordered the cafe de olla and it was so good, it is too sweet for me but the waitress gave me a great tip to mix some regular and cafe de olla coffee and that made it the perfect sweetness for me. I had the chilaquiles verdes and oh my gosh, they are the best chilaquiles I've had in San Antonio. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great place for Mexican food. A M A Z I N G Came on a recommendation from a friend. So glad we tried it out!! To begin, the place was pretty empty at 4 pm on Saturday. The hostess told us to sit anywhere we'd like. They came immediately to ask us for drinks. The horchata was so good! They also had offerings of fresh juices and cafe de olla (will be trying that for breakfast one day). The chips and beans were given to us shortly after and they tasted soooo good. We needed time to look at the menu but the waitress was really nice. The inside of the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. The plates remind me of Mexico and it's beautifully handcrafted. All the food was delicious but we definitely favor the sopes and the enchiladas. The concha's came out warm and are so soft! 10/5 will come here many times in the future. Worth the money. read more

Wow!!! This was seriously maybe the best place I have ever eaten. I suggested it for my coworkers and since we're from out of this state, they agreed with me to go here. As we pulled up the outside looked cute, but honestly when we walked in we were all even more excited. The vibe in here was super energetic with their super nice layout and the fun enjoyable music playing. The food we each order blew our minds and even the basic chips and dips that were dropped off at first were all legit. I always love genuine Mexican food but service is always my main priority and the service here was seriously perfect. This place reminds me of Brownsville in the best, most nostalgic way. My friend and I saw how good the food looked on Tlahco's instagram and website and decided to give it a shot for Sunday brunch. The inside of the restaurant was like visiting the Valley. We had a 25-minute wait, but it was worth it. There was so much to choose from on the menu, but I picked the cochinita pibil, and my friend picked the mole. We also ordered an horchata and cafe de olla each. The horchata and cafe de olla were perfectly sweet. Both dishes came with a side of rice, beans, and tortillas. (I got 1 corn and 1 flour, and he got two flour) We also had complementary chips and salsa, and much to my delight, they were the homemade thicc and sturdy chips. Nothing will break in those salsas. My dish was served in a GIANT molcajete. It was a little overwhelming to be honest! In fact, all the dishes were so authentic, being heavy clay or volcanic rock. Fortunately I was allowed to take my leftovers home and enjoy them for dinner. Service was great. They were all incredibly polite and never left us waiting. They knew exactly when to approach us. There were some really nice things on the menu I wanted to try but didn't have enough room in my stomach: The conchas with chocolate dipping sauce, the guava pie, and much more. Parking might be tight, depending on when you arrive--at least the lot in front is a little cramped, jammed between the main road and the building. With thirst getting the better of us, we opted for Lime Agua Fresca and a Horchata. After rehydrating, we decided to nab Parrillada al Carbon--a platter of mixed grilled meats--accompanied by rice, borracho beans, guacamole, and tortillas. We also enjoyed the chips with bean dip and salsa. It was quite a bit of food, and we took home a doggie bag. The meats were well seasoned and succulent. The shrimp was crisp and not mushy. The quesadilla was hot and cheesy. The jalapeños were juicy and slightly spicy. The grilled onions went with everything. We went through the tortillas pretty quickly, so we asked for more. I love when I finally find an authentic Mexican restaurant. I'm not talking about Tex-Mex. I'm talking about the real deal Mexican food and I'm so happy that I stopped by San Antonio and tried this place. The dining room is your standard environment, small dining room but everyone's there to eat so it's an algia type of experience. What I love about the guacamole and the chips is it's just an incredible dish. The chips are extra crispy fresh snap of the tortilla chips love the flavor, and you're talking about the freshest guacamole. I mean they had to have had made it prior because when I had the guacamole, you could taste how fresh it is and it's incredible From the pico de gallo on top of the guacamole to the zip and Zhang of the lime juice when you have the fresh creamy guacamole on top of the chip it's a money bite. The chicken flautas dish, I've had plenty in Austin Houston and in San Antonio, but this is that one restaurant where it's fresh flautas. Pretty sure they wrapped it with fresh chicken and deep fried to order. Love the crispiness and what I like about the dish is the creamy beans and the authentic rice I never finish my beans and rice because frankly most places I go to it tastes like it either from a jar or a can but those beings has a different type of creaminess and being taste that I actually finished my entire dish. I even scooped up all the rice, which I never do the rice had to be one of the best Mexican rice I've ever had very strong chicken, bouillon, and tomato taste when you add the creamy sour cream on top with the pickled red onions. It really breaks up the flavors and each time you go for a biteit freshens your pallet. The breakfast eggs, potato and meat platters great. I personally would prefer my potatoes to be crispy, but those potatoes are seasoned beautifully and amazing textures and flavors from the eggs with the cheese on top and a sliced ham overall great experience authentic restaurant. read more

Our party of 9 waited about an hour and a half for a Sunday lunch. We all enjoyed our meals - menudo, quesadillas, birria, and enchiladas. I had the posole, it had plenty of pork, almost too much. We ended the meal with a couple of orders of warm conchas. It was sweet idea to include hot chocolate and whipped cream but because I've had better conchas it felt a little gimmicky. And it was hard to taste the hot chocolate so maybe a warm chocolate sauce would translate better. My father-in-law wanted a variety of colored conchas instead of all pink ;) But overall a good meal! read more

Visited this place while looking for a good Mexican restaurant! The food was solid and the service was great! The best part of the meal was the cafe de Olla which had great flavor and super cinnamony if that makes sense. The tacos were good or above average but I've had better. Apparently they are more known for their soups and lunch. I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area. The restaurant ambiance is nice no frills Mexican restaurant. read more
