Don't let them tell you otherwise I can't even get a boat mid week because they're all booked on Lake Union, both locations .. I've been a member for four years and because of my one ALL DAY reservation on Seafair Sunday, that eliminates me from making any reservations at all until that one is cleared. Been trying to get out on the water 2 weekends in a row and Boats are not available... even mid week!!?? So much for paying for an unlimited (no restriction) membership. As a loyal member for three years, I have been diligently paying my monthly dues even during the winter months when boating is not feasible. Now, in the peak summer season, I expect to fully utilize my membership. However, it is very disappointing that we can't reserve ANY weekend evening boat at ANY Lake or Seattle dock THREE weeks out. If you can't boat in the summer at the weekend, there is little point in this $$$ membership. When you get a boat, the service is very good, and the team at the docks does a nice job of helping out. The boats themselves vary in quality--newer boats are awesome, but the 2022 boats are showing their age. FBC - increase your capacity or slow down your membership growth! read more

So far, FBC has exceeded our expectations big time. Being near Knoxville (Loudon Cty TN), we are fortunate to have most major boat manufacturers right here. So the boats at our 5 local FBC marinas are virtually brand new. The staff (note DockMaster Brian Uhls plus Liz, Aiden, Wilson, Layla... ) is exceptional. On our 4th trip out with Freedom Boat Club. I can't say enough about this awesome club. Having owned a boat for over ten years, what a difference Freedom is! All the fun without any of the worry! They always have our boat ready and waiting, clean and gassed up. We load up and travel to wherever our hearts take us for the day. Once we're ready to come back, the Dockmaster meets us at the slip, we pay for the gas we used and off we go! Previously, we always boated in the summer and in Lake Washington but now with Freedom, we can boat almost all year long and have so many more options available to us. I love that all the boats have a full bimini cover so that we can stay nice and dry during the non summer months. These last few trips we've jaunted over to Bainbridge or Poulsbo for the day, have lunch, walk around and relax in the small town atmosphere. Really looking forward to crabbing season on one of Freedom's fishing boats. Hubby will no longer have to manually pull up 150/200 feet of line as Freedom has pot pullers! So wish Freedom was around 10 years ago as I would have joined in a heartbeat given how expensive it was for maintaining, repairing, and mooring our boat. Best decision we made this summer was join FBC! My family had been looking into FBC up in Vancouver a few years back, and social-distancing provided the best excuse to finally look into this in Seattle. Keith was great in providing us information and follow up, and within 1 week of our initial meeting we were ready to hit the water! Big shoutout to the dock staff as well - always friendly and helpful. Even with the busy-ness of the summer, the way the reservation system is set up, it makes it fair for everyone to have access to the boats. We managed to get out almost every weekend (or if not, the some weeknights) this summer. I've been a member now for several months and I have to say this is one of the best things I've done. I have no issues getting out on the water frequently and in all capacities. Fishing, cruising the Sound, floating on the lake. All of it possible because of all the different boats. Also the people who work here - the dock guys and gals - they are awesome. My husband showed a recent interest in boating and FBC saved the day. Rather than dealing with boat ownership, all the hassles that come with it and what could have been a lot of stress in our relationship, we are happy members of FBC instead. FBC has been absolutely amazing to work with! We just moved to Seattle from Iowa a year ago and when I am not on the computer or speaking/traveling, I love to be on the water. We just got our boat licenses, and my wife and I had a great time going through New Boater Orientation. This is definitely my first experience driving anything other than a pontoon, and I look forward to working my way up to their Cruiser class boats. Let's be honest, they look like mini Yachts to me! Thanks to Natalie who worked tirelessly to get us a NBO on the weekend. With my wife just starting her new job out here she didn't have the vacation time built up to take during the week, and I am often traveling. So much fun! We just joined a month ago, and we are so glad we did. We were worried it might be difficult to get reservations, but that has not been an issue, even at prime times in the height of summer. We work 8-5 on weekdays, but still have managed to get out after work and on weekends a few times a week. I'm not quite sure how I got on Nick's email list but I'm glad I did! I'd often receive emails about their open house but never had the time to go. One day I was in the area, checked my email and low and behold there was an open house that day. Went there, captain Doug gave me a ride and I signed up that day! I don't know why anyone would want to buy their own boat with a club like this! -No maintenance -No cleaning -No towing -No storing -No hassles You literally walk up to the dock, go through a quick check-in process, have an amazing time out on the water and hand your keys to one of the extremely friendly staff at FBC who's there waiting for you to help you dock and unload your stuff! The one thing I was worried about was availability, but for every 8 people that join they buy a new boat! That keeps the availability really great! I also enjoy having access to various types of boats unlike owning just one. I've been on all of them now and they all bring a different experience when you go out. Not to mention you also get to reserve boats all over the country! I'll be in FL next week and already have some reserved at a few different locations! If you're on the fence about joining, don't be. You won't regret it! My only regret is not joining sooner! read more

We've been in the club since October 2019. So far it's been fantastic. Show up, jump on board, head out, have a great time, come back, and hand over the keys. The dock guys are super helpful and always have the boats ready to go. So much more cost-effective and hassle-free than owning a boat. I have friends with boats, and they don't actually use them, because of all the hassle and cost. FBC removes literally every single hassle, and every single cost except fuel. It pencils all day. The boat has been really well maintained, and is in great condition (we had it surveyed and it was in excellent condition as advertised). Since I wrote this I was charged replacement and labor for a marine radio with a small crack that I could not have done. No investigation. No question of me. Just a bill sent and demanded. I took the same boat out the next week and the crack was still there and amazingly the radio worked just fine just as it had the day they said I did it. Also, right now, due to COVID you have no access to boats and no relieve from the club whatsoever. read more

We've had a great experience so far with our membership. It's so easy. If you've owned a boat then you know how much time and $ they take. This club adds all the fun and they take care of the maintenance and cleaning. You just show up and go! We've also taken boats out with this club in Chicago and Bremerton and has the same wonderful service. One piece of advice for the best experience is to double check the day before your reservation and make sure you mention your plans of where you are going and what you'd like to do (fish/crab) to ensure it's possible ahead of time. read more

We have had three excursions with what I will call "our boat" from the Freedom Boat Club. This time we took a trip to Poulsbo. This was just an AMAZING day! Took our time getting there, trolling with a couple of fishing poles off the stern. Didn't catch anything, but never mind that! This was more about the journey than fishing today. There is nothing like being on a boat in the Puget Sound and discovering new places! We have had success fishing on the pilot house, "our boat", and our first outing was about 3 weeks ago for a trip to Blake Island for a hike. Having been a boat owner for 10 years we will never go back. Boating without any hassles but experiencing all the positives! The boats are great, the staff are awesome and the reservation system is fair. When you return the boat you just pay for the fuel you have used and then literally walk away. The crew cleans and refuels the boat. Quick. Easy. Hassle free. My friend has a boat and we spend an hour messing around after pulling it out of the water or even after just docking it. I'm a longtime boater and I just bought a used boat from Nick, the owner of FBC. He seems like a really nice guy who wants to make sure you have a good time on the water. He made everything about the process super straightforward. He took time out of his own schedule to give me a bunch of info about the boat and take me out on a test drive - even helped load it onto my trailer. The Kirkland marina was clean, parking was easy, and it looks like he takes good care of the boats in the fleet. We recently moved from Seattle to Portland, but if we still lived there we would probably join FBC instead of buying our own! read more
