I've been a Freedom Chevrolet customer for a couple of years now and I can say with all honesty that I am very happy with their sales team. So long story short, our lease was coming to an end and before we had to make any big decisions we stopped by the dealership about three months ago to get a little more info on what our potential options could be. The person that helped us was pretty straight forward and gave us some amazing advice and by all means did not tried to push us to make any early decision. He actually recommended us to come back in early December since they usually have better deals and offers to trade cars and all that good stuff. We followed his lead and couldn't be happier. We were able to find a car that worked for us and got a great deal on the new car. The only reason why I am not giving them five stars is because of their service department. Any kind of appointment can take all day and there just seems to be a lot of miscommunication within that team which results in longer waiting times and/or having to come back another day to get any kind of issue fixed. Besides them, the sales team is great but having to deal with their service department is a pain. read more

BUYER BEWARE. I cant believe they would even put the vehicle out for resale, but I am not surprised after the fact. The vehicle had been in 2 accidents with no engine damage, but it is a hard to find vehicle which I was set on finding and owning so I decided to take the chance thinking the dealership had enough integrity to only have vehicles that are in truly good shape out on the lot. Unfortunately, in this case they did not. It was only because I purchased the extended warranty that I am not personally out thousands of dollars from mechanical issues that have come up likely due to those previous accidents the vehicle was involved in. Bottom line, it should not have been resold at the price they were demanding. I will take the responsibility of buying the car with the knowledge of it being in 2 accidents, but selling someone a vehicle as if it had been successfully repaired and up to par when it did not take long before issues would begin to arise is diabolically evil. A place that is willing to do that for profit is a place that is willing to cut corners and screw people any way they can. The salesman was good at his job, and I almost cant blame him since he isn't a service tech and is only doing what they hired him to do which is sell the cars that are available. read more

I've never been more mad at a dealership, or really any business than I am with Freedom Chevy. I bought two vehicles here the same day. A 2018 Silverado and 2019 tahoe. THE SAME DAY I left, I didn't realize the screen on the truck didn't work. I immediately called the dealership and they said I can pay $400 to get it fixed. "You bought it as is." Yes, I understand that, however, it was still the same damn day. I fixed it myself after some research for $20. THEN my tahoe, after only a bit of miles, HEAD GASKETS broke. I had to pay $6600 to fix it. Now, 4 months later, it's idiling rough again. I took it in, and I was quoted 19k for a new engine. NINETEEN THOUSAND. So, in 6 months, I have spent 28k in REPAIRS on a vehicle that I JUST BOUGHT. Yes, I fully understand "As is" however, when I ask "do these vehicles get looked at thoroughly by your mechanics and you answer "yes," I trusted you guys as a company. This has put me in such a financial bind. I am in the military and have told every person who is just getting here looking for a vehicle to stay away from freedom chevy. I'm only giving one star because it won't let me do 0. Late last week I noticed a noise coming from underneath the engine of my 23 Colorado. I took the truck in this past Monday to get it checked out and fixed. Made an appointment online. Called to confirm it. Showed up and the guy receiving said they were a couple days behind. Odd because the appointments were wide open. Why can I make a service appointment when the truck is just going to sit there for multiple days? I get it. Things get backed up. But the appointments should reflect that. Anyway, I need my truck fixed and I planned on getting a rental anyway. So while I was waiting for them to do the paperwork they had a couple techs come out and look at it. Got under the truck trying to see where the noise could be coming from. Pretty much confirmed it was coming from the engine. Didn't mention anything about the fact that it was lifted. I leave the truck Monday and don't hear anything for a few days so I start calling Thursday morning. The guy on the phone tells me that the tech just started the inspection and will hopefully hear something later that day. My rental is coming to an end later that day so I had to drive back over near the shop to extend or renew it. I decided to pop back in to see if there was an update available. Still the same story and no update. So I go extend my rental another few days since they still don't know what's wrong with it and would have to fix it. On my way home from enterprise I get a text saying my vehicle is ready. I show up the next day to pick it up and all they've done is write "vehicle modify/recommend return to factory" and washed their hands of the situation. I asked the guy giving my key back why it seems like nothing has been done. He goes "yeah if it's modified they won't touch it unless it's stock( mind you it's the engine making the noise and not the drive train). If that's the policy then that's fine but there were 3 staff members looking at it when I dropped it off and not one person mentioned that they wouldn't even try to fix it. So my truck sat at the dealership for an entire work week, nothing was fixed, and I'm out 400 dollars for a rental. The entire situation seems sketchy and I'm not 100% sure they didn't just give up and say return to factory just to get it out of the shop. By far the WORST experience I've ever had with a dealership and I wouldn't recommend anyone bring their vehicle here for anything more than an oil change. *Edit* After reading the other reviews, I wouldn't even recommend bringing it in for an oil change. From start to finish, my experience here was nothing short of a disaster. At no point did I feel my vehicle was in capable hands. Communication? Nonexistent. The service technician, for lack of a better word, was terrible at providing updates, leaving me in the dark for hours. But the real kicker? They tried to overcharge me a whopping $550 just to remove a bumper and replace a part--not including the cost of parts! Let that sink in. Keep in mind, the very thing they attempted to fix wasn't even the issue I brought the car in for. Instead, they suggested replacing a part inside the front bumper, and when I balked at the outrageous quote of over $1200, I was left wondering what exactly I was paying for--certainly not quality work. Typically I do not write reviews because I always try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt however, my fiancé and I went in to test drive a vehicle and did not have a good experience. The sales associate Christopher T did a wonderful job and was extremely helpful and personable. However the finance manager was extremely rude and condescending. We worked with Jojo Munoz and he was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful of me and my husband's time and budget. I show up and they have 20 people in-line, then was told the appointment is meant for me to meet the service rep not to schedule oil change. What kind of crap is that. Being told to wait 3 hours. Gave this place another shot and I'm comfortable leaving it 3/5 stars for OK. Had an appointment bright and early at 7 am. Brandi, my attendant, said it would take an hour and a half and it did. Website says car wash with oil change + tire rotation, but still no car wash. The guys wrapped my wheel in plastic and left a random plastic bag at the gas peddles. Looked like they were in a rush. Again, it's just meh experience. I am spoiled by other Chevy dealership experiences. This one is just bare bones. Get in. Get out. Boom. COVID/Mask Policy Update: Firstly, I can't stand this mask policy is political. What should be safety precautions is an "Us vs Them" political campaign. Anyway, I went on the first day the mask mandate was lifted. As Gov Abbott stated the removal of the mask mandate "does not abandon safe practices that Texans have mastered over the past year." Gov Abbott believes that "Texans are smart" even stating he would continue to wear a mask himself despite removing the mandate. I'm glad 98% of people were being smart at Chevy. Of course with my luck, my attendant, the one I was assigned to, decided to not wear a mask and be...political. I was glad Chevy still had the plastic barriers because I would've asked to be assisted by someone else. I am a healthcare provider who works at the local hospitals. Whatever I pick up, I take to my patients; people who are already ill & compromised. We don't realize how much we touch our faces. I watched my attendant, without a mask, scratch her nose twice, touch my keys, and hand me my paperwork....Thankfully, I AM aware of these things and sanitized before getting into my car and heading to work. This has been the ABSOLUTE WORST experience. Took my car in for an oil change and to check the engine light because my check engine had come on but went off (the check engine light was off when it was brought it) my car was dropped off around 7:20am I was not called/messaged about my car until 2:45pm when Adriana called she let me know that my battery was weak, it was outputting 8.2 and it should be at least 12 I let her know that I'd take it to auto zone to get a replacement because the battery wasn't a year old. She also let me know that the Cadillac converter was going bad and it would be 1k to fix it, i let her know that I would take it to my mechanic, she said ok and I was able to pick up my car. I picked it up and went to go eat, my car started and a few seconds later it cut completely off. I was able to get it back started and I started, while driving it cut off again but somehow I was still able to drive it, the speedometer was stuck at 42mph radio, air, all lights cut off and I wasn't able to roll the window down. I called freedom Chevrolet and spoke with ADRIANA and let her know what happened she said it's possible that the service technician didn't tighten the battery cords back completely and that's why my car cut off like that. She said that they would send a technicians to my home to look at it, I provided my address and phone number. She called me back and said that her manager TUMAY NGUYEM would not be sending out a technician and that I'd have to get it towed to she dealership, I explained that I would not be spending any money when they caused the issue. I had my sister drive me back up to freedom and I spoke with Tumay she said oh it sounds like you just have a battery issue. I also spoke with the technician G as well as another technician, they let me know that it probably wasn't the battery or the Cadillac converter but some other issue that they FAILED TO LET ME KNOW ABOUT because I declined to get a battery from them. The only thing that they said I could do was get the vehicle to them so they could then try and fix the issue. I will say this I bought my 2021 Chevy trailblazer BRAND NEW from this dealership and haven't had any issues with driving/starting my car until now. Tumay was VERY dismissive & took no responsibility for what I was told and offered no solutions even after I was told by Adriana that a technician would be sent to my home. I've had a dead battery before and I was still able to roll the windows down and lock/unlock my car door. I asked for Tumay's mangers name and phone number and her response to me was "Does it matter" she is so disrespectful and she shouldn't have a managers position. While I was explaining to her that I've experienced a dead battery before and that I could still roll the windows down she said " well are YOU a mechanic?" If you can take your car ANY OTHER PLACE please do so because this place is nothing but a headache. read more

I had an appointment for an oil change at 9:30 a.m. today. I arrived and checked in at 9:15. They said it would be two hours so I decided to wait. At 12:15 I went to check on my vehicle and they told me that it was just put into a bay and would be another 1 1/2 hours. Just unbelievable poor customer service. I will never be back and will use another Chevy dealership from now on and I recommend you do the same! I bought a 2014 Chevy Cruze in Dec. of 2019 with cash, and my salesperson was kind and helpful. I was assured the car was good and only had 70k miles on it, so I thought I got a good deal. I do live in OK but was in TX for the semester, and was planning to go back to OK in Jan. of 2020. I had to call multiple times to get my paperwork sent to me so I could have my title and other papers in order to get my registration. Overall it took over 2 months just to mail it to me. This was the beginning of issues that would continue after my purchase. Several months later, I had electrical problems and issues with the car dying and the key being stuck. I had to tow it several times. Cables to the battery were loose, wires were in the wrong places, my battery died multiple times, and had to pay to get it fixed. This happened again and again. Over the summer of 2021, I had issues with the engine overheating. I was able to have a mechanic fix the issue, which ended up a leak in the coolant tank. I thought this was the end of the problem. Last week in Dec. of 2021, I was driving from OK to San Antonio, TX. About two hours into the trip, my engine started to smoke. Just after, I got a notification that my engine was too hot and the AC was turning off. I pulled over and was able to get it towed to the nearest town. Someone had to drive up from SA to Ardmore (5 hours) to get a hotel and drive me around while my car was being worked on. I was told that the engine got too hot too quickly and was essentially ruined. I was shocked. The third gasket lost all pressure and there was no coolant in the engine, so everything got messed up. My battery also died from the hazard lights being on for hours while I waited on the tow. I was informed by the initial mechanic and a second mechanic (from another shop) that this engine overheating problem was very common for this make and model, and it also had several recalls on it that indirectly caused the issues I had. I was not told by anyone at the dealership that this car had any kind of issues. I feel really misled on this vehicle and it requires a full engine replacement to even work again. I paid 10k for the car in cash and the engine replacement is 6k. It is not even worth investing into because it may have this problem again. Since it won't run or drive, I can only sell it for maybe 1k. I am losing 9 thousand dollars because I didn't have a trustworthy salesperson or dealership. I have only had the car for two years. I wish the dealership was more experienced with their vehicles and was honest about the cars state and potential problems. I am so disappointed. I'm a poor pre-med college student putting myself through school. This is such a loss for me. I will have no car for the next year while I try to save up again. Please do somewhere you know and trust and not to a stranger. read more

Was visiting San Antonio when my 2018 suburban started having transmission trouble. Told them it was slipping and they cleaned the injectors for $500. Problem remained, returned the next day and they determined it needed a new transfer case, $1,900, at least they gave credit for the $500 already spent. Problem still persisted on the way home so I got rid of the vehicle. Service manager at Freedom Chevrolet said he was going to reach out to corporate to see if they would cover the work since there were issues with this year and model. Once I left town he no longer accepted my calls or returned them. My first experience with this dealership and will not be coming back. Asked to speak with a manger and they are conveniently running late.
