It was a smooth experience until it wasn't. My appointment was for 11 but the person handling my car didn't clock in till 11 so I had to go to a restaurant and come back. When I come back, my friend who was going into work late to help me get to the dealership and I, are told my wife is required to be there as well. She wasn't on the purchase contract so according to the website she shouldn't need to be there. Guess it was mistaken. Turns out there was a phone call I was supposed to get before hand to make sure nothing is missing. No explanation as to why they forgot to call me I assume? Friend takes me and a hour+ later coming back with my wife. I don't have my ID because I left it in the computer scanner, because their AI on the website was having issues and I needed to scan the thing multiple times a few days back. Underwriter on the phone tells me it's only giving her the front even though I sent the front and back multiple times. I finally get the car later that day and there are scratches on it not listed on car page listing. Get told nothing can be down about small visual defects like that. They are faint scratches so annoying but I need a car for work. I was the car a few days later and on the driver door underneath what looked like some extra wax or something? There's a deeper scratch, no paint, nail catches on it on the driver door. Definitely wasn't on the site. Check the cars closely when you get them and call them if they "forget" to call you before you get there. Avoid yourself the aggravation. Everything else was good before that point. Overall, my experience was good and could have been great. However, I was disappointed that the price offered for my vehicle was changed when i went in to drop off my vehicle. I was told the pricing was entirely AI-based and that there was nothing they could do to override the revised offer. The reason given for the reduction was the cost of repairing a couple of rock chips on the bumper. I followed the sale of my vehicle online afterward and saw that it was ultimately sold with those same rock chips still unrepaired. On 9/17/2026 Carvana basically sells a car out from under me after being on the phone with 3 different agents (Tempe, AZ) since 9am. So, I escalate and speak to a supervisor's supervisor, (who shall remain nameless at this time), and he offers me a cash consolation of $300 for the multiple snafus that day. I thank him and reluctantly agree, thankful for anything, at this point. I ultimately purchase another vehicle, which was scheduled for delivery today, 9/19/26, between 1100 & 1400. Guess what??? Carvana delivery was a No-Show. No call, no text, no email, not even an update in their system. At 5:30, their system still showed the original delivery time. Three calls after my delivery window, I am told that my car is not even in the correct city!!! Still, no update in the system and no one bothered to notify me. Then, I kindly asked the Carvana advocate to annotate my "displeasure" with not receiving my vehicle and requesting compensation. He said there is no compensation for a missed delivery. I explaing how my call the other day was escalated to a supervisor and then her supervisor. This guy said, I don't see that in my notesz So he doubted me? I said, "Look, your in Tempe right? I spoke to...and...and...and was escalated to...and then escalated again to... and besides it's in my notes and recordings". He said,"Asre you recording this call?" I said yes. He said, "We have to end this call immediately!" I said, "Why? Aren't you recording this call anyway?" He confirmed they were and then went silent. I told him this didn't make sense, they couldn't help me anyway, wished him a gold night and ended the call. How funny..._They don't want you to record, but they can. Not funny...I have a whole wasted day spent waiting on Carvana and have no vehicle or newly scheduled appointment. No one bothered. They were all so flustered on how to navigate their snafu and how bewildered they were feeling, no one bothered to consider my feelings or what I needed or what was needed to get my vehicle to me. When I asked to speak to a manager she was just as rude. When I explained that the experience was frustrating. She didn't apologize. She and the service person told that they could see minor hail damage and deducted $1000 for the agreed sales price. I had never had any difficulty before with Carvana until now. We purchased a 2021 Ford Expedition XLT and had it for one day before the check engine light came on. We reached out to SilverRock - which is the company Carvana has partnered with for their limited warranty. They gave us a few FireStone locations we could take our vehicle to for a diagnostic. After the diagnostic it was determined the catalytic converters had to be replaced. Our vehicle has now been in the shop for 6 days. We were asked to drop it back off at FireStone so SilverRock could send a 3rd party to do their own inspection and determine if the repairs are needed. That was Thursday (the inspector didn't show until Monday) and it is now Tuesday and we are being told they're still reviewing the information before they can approve the repairs. At this point our vehicle has spent more time in the shop than at our home. This is our only method of transportation and being stranded at home for days on end has been ridiculous. read more

Second time buying from Carvana because my first experience was great. I will never buy from them again and will no longer recommend to friends. It started from the jump go to pick up my car and the vending machine was broken, apparently the platform broke the day before. When I get in the car the air fresheners that were in the floorboards were nauseating and the inside of the car was dirty. French fry between the seats dirty. It appeared that tape was put around the gas tank door during transport and the pinstripes were ripped off when it was removed. Nothing was noted online for defects of the interior before I purchased the car, but significant scratches were on the trim of the dash and driver's door. Submited the 3 cosmetic claims with in the 7 day window. I received an email a hour later denying all 3 as typical wear and tear. Called the next day and spoke to an Advocate he spoke to leadership and they requested I get a quote and upload it. Did so the next day and called customer service. The person I spoke with said that Richard the advocate I had spoken with previously would call me back. He never did I had to call 3 more times and the final Advocate had a supervisor look over my claims and denied all of them. Said the car is priced with those things in mind, however the car was at the top of its price range when purchased. Complete waste of my time and this is totally a scam. Now I'm out $1000 to fix these cosmetic defects that I had no idea were there before I purchased. read more

By far the worst experience. Highly do not recommend buying a vehicle from Carvana. Sold me a vehicle that should have never been sold, the car was a complete total loss the moment it left the lot. Spent over 1k only for it to be towed back to the location because it was totaled 2 days after. Mind you they claimed to do a 150 point inspection when they never did. I also was not compensated for the 1k I had to spend, even with the "7-day guarantee." Because I traded in a car I was unfortunately locked in to buying a second car after the first was a complete loss. I received a call that the car would be available for pick up Monday, I questioned at that time if the car was ready and all inspections were done so I do not run into the same issue as the first, and I was reassured by the manager it was good. Only to receive a text less than 10 hours before the planned pick up that the car is now not available for 2 weeks. But yet as customers we cannot change our edit our pickup times within 24 hours, but they can cancel less than 10 hours before. So here I am stranded yet again without a vehicle. So I am forced to get a 3rd car. With all the hassle and multiple phone calls, caravan refuses to pay me my 1k back and pay for shipping for the THIRD vehicle. Also I was in rental due to their mess ups consistently and they refused to pay for that. I am STILL waiting for that leadership call I was promised within 72 hours. Mind you we are on week two without any call back. Place is a complete joke and waste of time. Do not buy. read more

Easy peasy! The Curt-mobile had to go. Selling my car to Carvana was easy! I went on their website, answered a whole lotta questions about the condition of my vehicle, the mileage, and whether it had this that or the other, and they made me an offer- cash! It was higher than CarMax, so I took 'em up on it. It's not easy finding buyers for a Mercedes Maybach. At the appointed time, they arrived with a double decker car truck with a few other vehicles piled up on top of it. After sitting around in the car checking things out for a few, he loaded the car up, and before we knew it, he was gone! The guy didn't even take it for a test drive. In the end, it wasn't really cash, cash. It was a check, which was easy too. I didn't have to have a bunch of people coming over and kicking the tires, and it was so painless- I'll check them out to sell 'em my next car. I can only hope that my car is now in a giant vehicle vending machine, where someone drops in a token and a giant claw comes down and grabs my old car and delivers it to the next driver. read more

I am filing a formal complaint regarding a 2016 Ram 1500 purchased from Carvana in March 2025, covered by Carvana's highest-tier extended warranty administered by SilverRock. The truck had approximately 71,000 miles at purchase. Shortly after the seven-day return window closed, the vehicle began suffering major mechanical failures that never stopped. Within seven months of ownership, the truck has required two engine replacements, including two replacements within the same month, and has been out of my possession for approximately three to four months total due to warranty repairs. Despite purchasing the most comprehensive warranty available, I have been left without a safe or reliable vehicle. Early warranty repairs included a fuel pump, upper and lower oil pan gaskets, and a front shock. Soon after, the engine began running poorly and consuming oil. I was later told by SilverRock that oil consumption was not covered, even as the engine deteriorated further. Over the next several months, I filed at least five additional warranty claims related to engine and drivability problems. At its worst, the truck was burning approximately 1.5 quarts of oil per day. SilverRock sent the vehicle to Firestone, an authorized repair facility. What was initially quoted as a five-day repair turned into weeks of delays. After the first engine replacement, the check engine light came on before I had driven a mile. The truck was kept for another several weeks, and Firestone attempted to charge me for spark plugs despite the engine being newly replaced under warranty. Additional failures followed immediately, including oil line issues. Shortly afterward, the engine began smoking heavily while driving, requiring a roadside tow. Although I was told the tow would arrive within an hour, it took approximately five hours. Firestone diagnosed a thermostat failure, and when I questioned why a newly replaced engine was repeatedly failing, a Firestone employee told me to "shut the f* up" and "get the f*** out of the store."** This behavior was hostile, abusive, and completely unprofessional. Firestone also attempted to deny warranty coverage for this failure. Due to this conduct, I took the truck to an independent shop for inspection. They reported poor and unsafe engine installation, broken wiring harnesses, and damaged components caused during prior repairs. They refused to work on the vehicle due to its condition. I later took the truck to a different Firestone location, where technicians found that the oil filter housing and radiator were leaking, parts that should have been addressed during the engine replacement. These were repaired, and the vehicle was released. On the very first drive, the truck shut down completely. Firestone then informed me the replacement engine had locked up and that SilverRock had supplied a defective engine. I was told the engine would now be replaced again, marking the second engine replacement in the same month. Throughout this process, I continued paying for insurance, registration, loan payments, and warranty coverage while repeatedly being without the vehicle. This experience reflects: * Sale of a vehicle with serious mechanical defects * Unsafe and negligent repairs by authorized facilities * Excessive and unreasonable repair delays * Hostile and abusive treatment by an authorized shop * Defective replacement engine supplied under warranty * Two engine replacements in seven months After seven months, repeated catastrophic failures, and months without possession of the vehicle, it is clear this truck cannot be made reliable or safe. I am seeking a full buyback/refund or replacement with a comparable, reliable vehicle. read more
