Greetings, Yelpers! I just wanted to a few kind things about Freelance Technical Support, run by Ron Gravatt. A friend of mine introduced me to Ron after having had her computer serviced. My own computer was acting funny ------ "funny" enough so that it was becoming seriously LESS than "funny". I contacted Ron, and we establihed that it was best for him to pay a home visit. He arrived on time, and after my description of the symptoms, he began to analyze the MANY problems within the machine. I won't go into detail, but Ron showed me a host of problems (many due to my neglect) and then fixed each and every one. Prior to that, I was so frustrated with my computer's "behavior" that I was ready to trash it and start anew. It's a GOOD THING I ran into this man ------- my computer runs like new! I my opinion, he brought this machine "back from the dead". Subsequently, I have taken private general computer lessons from him, and in those two hours, I have increased my computer knowledge at least fourfold! If your computer is lagging or you are suspicious of it's "behavior" for any reason, DO contact Freelance Technical Support ----- he can even access your computer remotely, while you sit and marvel. Ron is, with out a doubt, the most knowledgeable, friendly, honest and fair computer repair technician I have ever dealt with. I brought my wife's mid- 2010 MacBook Pro into Ron for an error message. I had taken it to two other Mac repair stores, and got completely different explanations as to what was causing the error message. One store wanted to replace the hard drive ! Ron asked if he could keep it overnight to look into the issue further. He called me the next day, and said he could not repair the suspected problem, as he suspected it was a soldered component on the Logic Board, integral to the Mother Board. However, the amazing part was that he did a considerable amount of research regarding what he described as a "Kernel Error" that Apple was aware of, and he provided his research to substantiate his findings. He pointed-out that Apple had extended the warranty for this component, and if I asked Apple to run a specific test that would identify this, they might repair it for free - it was a $400 fix otherwise !! Sure enough, I did as Ron had suggested, brought it to Apple, and asked them to run this test. Yep, it was just as Ron had described; the component on the Logic Board was failing. My work laptop was stuck in BIOS for what I thought was no good reason. It wouldn't even recognize the HD. I thought I was done-for. I found Ron through Yelp, saw all his stellar reviews, and gave him a call. He was able to take a look right away and had it back to me within 24 hours ON A WEEKEND, and charged me a very reasonable rate. He even organized my files after asking my permission to do so (would optimize performance), and was communicative and friendly throughout the entire process. Good Day. Just wanted to chime in about Ron at Computer Repair Freelance. I took my laptop to Ron a few months ago because it was attacked.He had it for probably two days and saved it for me! Last week when I turned it on I had the blue screen blues. I phoned him and told him about my problem and he told me to bring it on over for a look see. Ron saved the day for me!! My several year old laptop went on the fritz and I was beside myself because all my family photos were on the computer and I had not backed them up. He was terrific to deal with and calmed my nerves. In a few hours after dropping off my laptop, my problem was solved. Ron was able to retrieve my photos and documents from the hardrive and essentially create a portable drive that I can use to download my photos to a new computer. His fee was also very reasonable. Ron is my go to guy for computer repairs over the years and he never disappoints. He is fast to diagnose the problem, quick to do the actual repair, and unquestionably reasonable on his prices. One time I called him with a problem and he actually referred me to someone else that he said was better with that particular issue (they also did a great job). I called a few days ago to discuss my HP desktop certain app`s log in problems.While explaining my dilemma to my surprise he recommended trying a few certain options before bringing it to him. How wonderful is that! Unfortunately it didn`t solve my problems. Ron replaced the keyboard on my wife's MacBook Pro laptop after it had suffered water damage. I was extremely happy with his service and would use him again without hesitation. He responded quickly to my initial email inquiry with a quote and was able to start work on the machine as soon as I had agreed to proceed with the work.
