My classic Corvette had issues going straight down the road at speed ever since I bought it. It had 5 alignments at different shops (including one for over 700 bucks!) None of them got it dialed in. I was advised by another quality shop (BFS in Santa Clara- another great shop to deal with) to take it to Tony at Freeman Frame. They had it corrected in just a few hours, and at a very fair price. This is the place to go if nobody can get your car going straight down the freeway. Don't judge a book by it's cover, this shop looks old and scrubby, but does the quality of work you need. Came in to get my car aligned "by referral" I called them in morning to make an appointment, I was told I could bring in my car in 1.5 hours and that he would do the alignment while I waited. The person that did my alignment was super nice, I ended up talking with him for about a 1/2 hour about Hot Rods. The parking around the shop area is very limited and it's hard to drive through the parking lot. The alignment took about 45 minutes, he told me where he set my specs but unfortunately he did not give me a computer readout so I have no way to know for sure if the specs are in fact where he set them. Overall the car seems to track straight and my steering wheel which was off center is now straight. I just wish I had a readout because I gave him the specs I wanted him to set the alignment too "not factory specs" so If my tires show abnormal, or I can have them make the small corrections. My 73 Camaro needed it's alignment dialed in after the front suspension and steering had been replaced. I called a few places that looked reputable but were all weeks out, Freeman happen to have an immediate opening so I rushed over. This is an old school alignment shop, if you're looking for a laser alignment with the latest machines this isn't the place. Instead you get skilled work from experienced staff using the tools and devices needed to dial in the alignment. I was a bit skeptical at first but about halfway through my alignment a clean Chevelle rolls in with a full aftermarket front suspension because apparently this is the spot to go. If you plan on waiting there is a bit of witty banter between them to keep you entertained. Went in for a frame straightening and front end alignment. Job was well done and was taken care of immediately. Everything was good with the Mexican guy and the White guy with the mustache and brace. Beware of the other old white dude though. He's a Scrooge, and if I would've met him before I would have had second thoughts about coming to this shop. Overall, my experience was good here. This shop does not try to push you to do extra auto work that is needed. How ever he will tell you it will need to be done soon and gives you the option to do the work now are later. The labor price is good and the auto work is excellent. I took my care in for some work and my car was finished in a timely manner. As for the staff they have great customer service and they are very honest. I also recommend this place if you have a classic car. read more

2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 that was pulling to the right despite having an alignment that was all in spec and all completely BRAND NEW front suspension components. I brought it in same day at 10am and they diagnosed the issue within about 10 minutes. The caster was off because the front subrame was slignhtlt bent. They were able to have it fixed and on its way within roughly an hr. The car drives straight and true now and no longer pulls to the right. Im HAPPY! They also fixed a bent pinchweld on my car from improper use of a car jack!!! read more

Freeman Frame came highly recommend over 4-Wheel parts. I needed upper & lower control arms installed, axel centered and the front end aligned. My truck is a 4-wheel drive with a straight axel and it can be a pain. Recently I've had everything replaced or rebuilt with the exception of the control arms. If one component is off like the control arms, it can damage other components over time, and if you have bad or worn out parts, the same can occur. I called on a Monday to schedule an appointment to take in my truck and I clearly advise what I need done to it. I came in first thing Friday at 0800. Again I went over everything that I had done to my front end...just a brief run down..the history. Terry advises me that it should be done around 2pm/1400...ok. Uber'd home and met up with my wife and took her to the movies..We saw Dunkirk. Movie is over and I called and spoke to Terry..ALL DONE! Cool, I am on my way. I got in my truck and grabbed the package of baby wipes...What?!? Like you don't have baby wipes handy in your ride?!? I pull out a few and proceed to wipe down the steering wheel, center console and door handles... DIRTY Mechanics!! While driving home, the truck was pulling to the left. :/ It being a Friday I'm not going to call till Monday. Let the guys chill and have their weekend. Visually I didn't see anything wrong till the next day. I noticed that my coils were forward, not centered as they should be. The sway bar link were off as well. About a inch from the coil..Almost touching. I ran a few errands and it just didn't feel right?!?! :/ Monday I call, expressed my concerns made a appointment. Wednesday I'm back again. Visually pointed out what I see and explains to Terry on how my truck rides. 2 hours later and it's finally done right. I just wish they could of done it right the first time. I don't mean to actually rate this place 3 stars for service- to clarify, I didn't get anything done here. However, I just got new tires and the place I got them told me to go get a tire alignment. I came here, asked for a tire alignment and they told me that I needed to get a FRAME alignment and tire alignment. Consulted a friend who does other work on cars and they advised me to get a second opinion. My second opinion said that I definitely only needed a tire alignment. I got what I needed and I saved $135. They're nice guys, but I would not go back here again not recommend any of my friends to come here. Brought my father-in-law's truck here to Freeman's shop to have the frame inspected and estimated. Spoke to Mr. Terry and he was a really cool guy. So the truck was inspected after they fiddled around underneath the vehicle. My father-in-law and I was thinking it might be over $800. My classic truck has some play in the steering. Tony (new owner) is very experienced, I thought the steering box was the problem but he found the issue to be the front right drag link was hitting another part of the truck. He did a search on his computer and showed me what the correct drag link looks like, so my truck has an incorrect drag link for some reason. Tony ordered the right part and fixed the problem for me at a reasonable price. Will definitely go back to Tony whenever I need automotive service. read more

New owner from the last time I had work done years back.. This time I paid to have my rotors turned and during a recent tire change found out that they had not been turned. Having done most of the basic maintenance on my vehicles for the last 60 years, I'm 80, I have removed and replaced rotors and taken rotors to be turned on many occasions. The vehicle has been driven less than 500 miles since I paid for the work. The owner refused to give me my money back unless he sees for himself what the rotors look like. That may seem reasonable unless he is the kind of person who would charge you for work he hasn't done. I don't want him near my vehicles. The vehicle is scheduled to have the brakes done this week at Prosperity Auto. I trust them. read more

A very long and overdue review of Freeman Frame. I first came across Freeman Frame in 1980. I was involved in an auto accident with my Jeep CJ5 and Freeman Frame was the sub-contractor to my insurance company to replace my rear axle assemble and make sure that the rest of the frame and alignment were straight. What a great job they did some 32 years ago. I still use them today. My latest trip was my 1999 Suburban K2500. A very loud squeak coming from the left front tire that I was unable to diagnose by myself. I stopped by their shop on Thursday, February 23. Terry there had my truck into their service bay immediately. Within a couple of minutes he is able to determine that the left side lower ball has served it's life, 271K miles, and needs to be replaced. I concurred and agree to come back on Tuesday, February 28 to have the work done. From them doing a right side unit many years ago, i knew this would be an all day job. I left my Suburban off on February 28 at 800a, and by 300p I was called that it was complete along with an alignment. The job was reasonably priced and I am, as always, a satisfied customer. This shop is old school. Don't be turned off by how this shop looks, they do great work. Have a great following. Their alignments are better than most other places do and Freeman's uses an old school non-computerized alignment rack. They also have the capability to do on the vehicle wheel balancing. Their alignments are not cheap. However they are totally worth the cost. This is one great place, just a little hard to find. Well worth it. read more

The worst and this place is a complete fraud!. This place tries go sell you some manual tech work saying they are more precise and accurate than the typical alignment machine. I paid about 400 bucks and nothing was done to fix my alignment. Called them to tell them this issue has not improvrd and the problem is still their. Their response - "You need to replace one of your bad tires, but i dont know which one' YOU DONT KNOW WHICH ONE????. WHAT A COMPLETE JOKE. A complete fake and Scam scam scam. I had not seen a master in Alignment for a long time now. My HONDA CRV had an alignment issue that several computer alignment shops just kept saying" it's all aligned, the computer said so". But it didn't fix it. Finally I friend recommended Freeman and OMG, like what "Terry" the mechanic says, it's " FM" . These guys are the best. Who else grinds, and drills, and shaves metal and straighten out parts by hand anymore. It's a dying art I think but these guys truly understands the craft. What else, they will align your vehicle without using a computer. They do it the classic "analog" method with classic measuring tools. I'm writing this review as if I would be the person to read it before bringing my car to this shop. My car needed shocks and the steering box replaced. My goal is not to bring harm to this shop, only to report fact and to help the next person. Forget the long narrative story so typical of Yelp reviews. Here are the facts: I was charged $161.96 for 2 (two) Monroe Gas-Magnum shocks by Freeman. Later I found the same shocks selling between $80 to $106. Full price, brick and mortar stores - not even on sale. I was charged $155.95 for 2 (two) Monroe Max-Air shocks. O'reilly's sells them (undiscounted) for $65 per pair. This shop doubled the price for shocks. Worse, they charged $190 to install them. Midway into the job, I called to find the status and the owner complained that the installation (of shocks!) was difficult and that he wanted to charge an additional 2 hours of labor - to install shocks! I had to fight to pay $190 to install shocks. It could have been $400. The car was returned to me with grease on the carpet, door, hood and interior upholstery. When I pointed it out, the owner tried to clean it with a can of brake clean and a rag. This shop is filthy and the mechanics were unfriendly, if not off putting. And by the way, the owner of this shop won't provide a written estimate unless strongly pushed to do so. He's a "time and materials" kind of guy. The longer it takes to fix your car, the more it costs. You are paying by the hour regardless of how efficient he is compared to reasonable shops. And this: The owner performed a wheel alignment. $100. I paid it -- and just realized -- an alignment has nothing to do with the job his shop performed. Replacing the steering box does nothing to change the alignment AND I HAD THE ALIGNMENT DONE 3 WEEKS EARLIER. For $89. If the aligment was checked, it should have been obvious that an aligment ADJUSTMENT was not needed. Overall, this experience was not a good one. On the other hand, the owner seems very experienced and capable. Furthermore, a nice clean shop does not necessarily mean that work can not get done well. My overall impression is that they can do good work but if you go there you had better not trust anything you're told, and you better not go dressed looking like you have disposable income. read more

In regards to my car problem mentioned in my Firestone review; my car ended up here. A friend had recommended another body shop; and after they looked at it, the shop recommended this place. My wonderful husband took time out of his day and brought my car here while I was at work - so I didn't actually get to come here myself. But it seems like this shop is another honest place that will not try to rip you off. The guys here were able to quickly determine that it was a bent steering knuckle, which they straightened out. They warned my husband that it was possible that it might break while trying to do this - but it all turned out ok. This all got done in just a couple of hours, and I'm only out about 250 bucks. Honestly really disappointed in the customer service of Terry's employee and the lack of effort that went into fixing my car. I got my car aligned by them and the day after got brand new tires. About 2 weeks later it started pulling to the right. I took it back in today and they say it's because of my tires. So they went ahead swapped the wheels from left to right in the front. When the guy came back from the test drive he tossed the keys to me and said "now it pulls to the left" and walked right past me without offering to fix it. On my way home I felt my steering vibrate and sure enough none of my lug nuts were tightened. Bottom line avoid this shop. The equipment and methods they use are out of date and will just end up with the same problem shortly down the road. read more

A mechanic from this location quoted me a fixed price to install an a/c part installs it, then we go to pay and the "manager" charges us for more time when it was just under an hour of work. You would think they would communicate properly between each of them. The excuse was "oh yea my boss does that..." that's BS!!!! Not only was it not functioning properly, panels were hanging off and the air conditioning only was blowing cold air from one side and hot from the other- like who wants that?? New Vehicle new issues. My Yukon was pulling to the right since the day I bought it, it had developed a crazy shake. I had gone to a different shop previously and they were saying I would need to get a new steering rack to correct my alignment. Before dumping money in to my Yukon I decided to go back to a shop I know and trusted and was happy to find Freeman Frame still open. I had my Yukon dripped off and they aligned it before the end of the day. During my pickup Terry had stated they got the alignment dialed in, but that the tires needed to be replaced (second time I recall a shop saying I needed new tires but not mentioning why) and to bring it back after getting new tires to recheck the alignment. Still unsure as to why I needed new tires I drove the Yukon home, steering wheel was not center, still had a right pull and a minor shake. After getting home I looked at the tire tread and there was still plenty of life left. I decided to jack the front end up and look at the tires. At first I spotted nothing while I spun the tires and when I was about to call it a day, I found my driver side tire had a hump. Now I found the culprit for my pull and shake. Not knowing if the issue went further than 1 tire I bought new wheels and tires and installed them myself. After the new tires, the Yukon does not pull anymore and the shake is gone, steering wheel is now center and I had not had time to go back to have the alignment rechecked to make sure it's where it's supposed to be. Great place if you have a trouble alignment. The company I work for uses them on all of the cars in our body shop that have been hit really hard or are lowered. I don't know how they do it but they seem to be able to make adjustments that other alignment shops can't even think about doing. I don't know if they give a computer print out of the readings but you can trust that your car will not pull after taking it to them. read more
