I wanted new tires plus a spare for the trip. Savio referred me to Ramon's and they did a wonderful job with the tires, including locating a rim for the spare. The Solis has no space for a spare. I ordered a mounted from Landed Gear and had it shipped to Leales and Leales followed the instructions for the installation so that the spare stayed put even when we drove the famously rough Alcan Highway there and back. The road is built on permafrost and its reputation has not been exaggerated - we encountered one car with two flat tires - but with good tires and slow driving, we never needed our spare. We also did not experience the problems I've read people have with other brands or improperly installed back door mounted spare tire racks: broken window or warping of the metal doors.

April was by then on maternity leave, so we worked with Briana, who was equally friendly, knowledgable, and low-key. The transaction was smooth and painless. No last minute charges, no pressure to buy extended warranty (though one was available if we wanted it). We arranged for financing with our credit union, and that was fine, too (no pressure to take financing through the dealer). On the day we arrived for pick-up, they had cleaned and prepped the trailer, and Luis gave us a thorough walk through, making sure we understood how everything worked, from the smart hitch to the a/c to the slide-out & etc. We had been to another, big RV dealership months earlier, and were so traumatized by the high pressure sales tactics and endless (endless!!!) "follow-up" phone calls that we were paranoid about shopping again, but we had heard good things about Family RV, so we took a chance. Glad we did! The office folks continue to try and skew and bend the truth. Side maker lights work was never approved or requested which is documented in email. Damage happened twice on my rig at this shop. Once was covered and fixed, the second damage occurrence, they are denying responsibility. I also paid for all this work far in advance of it being done, in full, which was my mistake, clearly. We are now in small claims court unfortunately due to the company's inability to stand up and do what's right. I think this all started due to the employee we started with Ron who is no longer working there. Originally contacted Family RV to make a 7pin pig tail for our Lance truck camper. That pig tail wasn't done right or something happened to it, intermitent issues with turn signals and brake lights. Decided to take the entire rig in for service to get a new furnace and some electrical work done. New furnace is great, they did work I did not ask for or approve and charged me for it. The rig also was damaged while in their care, exterior was hit and punctured a pretty good hole in the front of the camper. They provided us with a free rental since we had planned to use our RV. That rental's slide out stopped operating at the RV park... They couldn't find the short for the electrical work I asked for... Short story 5800 dollars, a new furnace, repaired damage caused at their shop, the same short, and a new pig tail. We are now in small claims court to get some of the money back for the work that I didn't ask to be done and electrical work that was never identified or fixed. That's where the positivity ended. When the kit arrived and I took it home on 12/30/25, it was clear it was not compatible with my specific awning variant. I called back to ask if they could confirm compatibility with the manufacturer. Instead of assistance, I was told I'd have to wait for the person who initially helped me. It felt like a letdown. Why couldn't anyone just step in to help? I was told I'd get a call after New Year's. That call never came. I understand the holidays can be busy, but it felt like my issue was forgotten. And they noticed that it had a code related to the cadillac converter one of the gentleman there told the one that was scanning for codes. Raise up the vehicle, make sure that all the sensors are connected. They could have missed not connecting one. And that can be the cause of the check engine light. They did remove that check engine light. And also they had the person that was working on my car. The day before, and he mentioned that one of the gaskets in the exhaust before the Cadillac converter was a little deteriorated, and they recommended that I change that. I had a great experience working with Duane at California Camper Repair…read more I originally brought my Winnebago in for body work related to what I thought was collision damage. During the process, Duane identified a structural issue that I don't believe a typical RV service center would have caught -- the passenger-side wall was separating from the floor near the entry door due to a missing bracket tying the wall to the chassis. He designed and fabricated a custom heavy-duty bracket to properly secure it. The repair completely resolved the issue and even reduced a significant amount of noise in the coach. Duane takes a true problem-solving approach and is willing to go beyond standard repairs to get things done right. That's hard to find. Once parts were available, the turnaround was quick, and I also appreciated the flexibility -- he allowed us to take the rig and use it after part of the work was completed while waiting on the remaining parts. That made a big difference for us. Overall, very happy with the work and would definitely recommend California Camper Repair, especially for more complex or hard-to-diagnose issues.

Repair and paint job look like new. Water heater works like new, my wife is very pleased. The inverter was a bigger problem, he checked and measured according to the manufacturers help line and eventually they determined that a tiny switch in the converter had been left in the wrong position. Charging works well now, just have to return it to have it load tested as I needed it for a couple of days. Dwayne was great to work with, knowledgeable and he likes to explain things as they were happening. The cost was a very pleasant surprise, it was much less than I expected for all the work that was done. I am very satisfied. He is now my new go to guy.
