I was having issues with a strong exhaust smell in the cab of my…read more2013 Chevy Equinox, and was in search for a trustworthy mechanic to take a look and hopefully repair any problems before an upcoming SoCal roadtrip that I was taking with my family. I used Yelp to put a blanket request for the Sacramento area, and Stress Free Auto reached out right away! I was able to take my car in first thing the next morning and was greeted in such a friendly and warm way. Knowing they had a few jobs ahead of me, they called a niiiice Lyft and made sure I got home free of charge! From there the communication was excellent. There were continual texts that provided information about their progress not only with searching for the main problem, but also a general overall inspection of my vehicle. Once complete they sent me an estimate, I called to coordinate which things I wanted repaired/addressed, and they sent over a finalized quote that I signed immediately. It was quick, informative, and quite literally stress free The main problem was a cracked exhaust manifold. Seems like an extensive repair, right? Well, they let me know later that afternoon that they were done! Amazing same day service! Absolutely incredible. It's been a month since the repair and I haven't had any issues. So, in my book, that's a job well done! The only small gripe I have is the cost. Again, it was same day service, so it's understandable that I might have paid more than I would have at another local shop, but they did offer a discount on the initial inspection cost. Some other shops roll the inspection cost into the cost of repairs, but unfortunately Stress Free doesn't do that. Plus, a couple of suggested repairs were somewhat of a laughable cost. If memory serves, they quoted me around $60 to replace wipers. I'm not sure if it was a quote for all 3, or just one, but I spent $15 on a wiper on the way home and installed it myself. Whatever, they are trying to make money! Despite my small price gripe, I will be using Stress Free in the future for any vehicle concerns I have!

I called to set up a test drive and met Hector and Lianna upon arrival. Hector showed me around the shop and took me on a tour like it was my first day on the job. It was a nice touch and is a great way to ease tension between buyer and seller that is common when car shopping. After the tour we sat and talked and he proactively told me the car I was interested in was a salvage title. Proactively! While most dealers would avoid this important detail unless asked he told me upfront and unprompted. Talk about a way to gain trust from a customer. I did the test drive and the atmosphere was laid back from beginning to end. After a few more days of shopping I decided to buy. We stayed in communication and was able to plan payment, pickup, etc without any pressure. This car was a present and was financed through a bank that took several days to pay. Hector was very flexible working with me getting the car home and letting me know how to proceed with payment every step of the way. Everyone I interacted was professional and friendly - Hector, Lianna, and all the mechanics. This is the 9th car I have purchased and easily the best experience. Great deal, Great people, Great all around.

While out on the lot looking at the car I had asked the sales person if there was anything wrong with it, he replied no, no problems. I don't know much about engines so I took his word on it. 41 days later while driving the car starts smoking. I brought it to a shop to get a diagnosis turns out it has a head gasket leak and multiple other issues. I sent them an email asking to remedy this problem and they have not gotten back to me. This is totally dealer fraud. So now I have a broken car that I can't drive, still have to continue making payments on it. And now have to find and pay for a lawyer. please save yourself the stress and never purchase from this untrustworthy dealer.
