I live an hour away and requested an out-the-door price before making the drive to purchase the car. I took time off work, brought a second person with me, and even had our family mechanic come along to inspect the vehicle. The car's A/C was not working during the test drive. That immediately raised concerns for me about the dealership's reconditioning process and the overall condition of its inventory. We also observed six separate rock-chip impact points on the front windshield, a partially worn windshield seal, and what felt like an unstable suspension during the drive. The dealership agreed to repair the A/C but refused to replace the windshield, offering only to fill the chips with resin. They had their mechanic inspected the suspension and come back saying it was good. Based on what I experienced, I decided to walk away and take my business elsewhere. In my opinion, the vehicle was not in the condition I expected, and I left with concerns about their thoroughness of the inspection and reconditioning process. read more

Wasn't a bad experience as Luis was friendly. Left with the car I wanted, the rest of my down payment was taken late due to them forgetting.(Got it taken care of) Unfortunately within a few days of owning the car, my check engine light came on as if a code was erased prior to sale. Car runs and drive perfectly, possible acceleration lag? I called Luis and asked if it was possible to fix this issue as I had just bought the car within 72 hours when the CE light came on, apparently it was going to be a cost that was and should have never been intended. I feel played and bamboozled to an extent and I truly wish that I had some kind of relief to get the issue taken care of. I'm not sure if I'd go back or recommend after multiple calls to address this, as well as trying to get them to take the rest of my car payment. I wish I could rate higher, but I did not intend on buying a car and then expect to pay more shortly after to repair what should have already been taken care of. read more

They tried to add multiple items/warranties that I did not ask for. I spied them in reviewing the sales docs ...I'm an old lady, and I guess they thought I wouldn't notice the additional thousands of $ ? They over charged me for the DMV registration. I sent them a letter requesting my refund and they did not respond. At the time of purchase, they charged me $ 972.00 for the registration fee, when I owed $322.00. The $972.00 included the registration for the 2024-25 year, plus $. I bought the car in June of 2025. The DMV told me that M & S owes me $650.00,and that M & S actually charged me for the registration of the vehicle I purchased, for the year BEFORE I bought the car, plus some.The DMV told me that the vehicle wasn't registered in 2024-25, and M & S added that fee to my registration fee, plus extra $. I did notice the overcharge at the time of purchase, and they promised that the DMV would issue me a refund. They lied. In addition to the overcharge on the registration, they didn't process the sale promptly with the DMV, and I received multiple bills from bridge tolls and parking tickets incurred by my trade-in vehicle, AFTER they took ownership, which I had to deal with. I have submitted complaints to the BBB and the State Attorney Generals, DMV division, who handles claims vs auto dealers. read more

I was shopping for a car from Las Vegas and worked with this Sacramento dealership over the phone for more than 10 days. I even asked my cousin, who lives nearby, to go check the car in person. That's when I missed the first red flag: they gave her one price, then backtracked and said the manager hadn't approved it. I brushed it off and moved forward. After more back-and-forth, we agreed on a price and they promised they would hold the car for me. The night before my flight, they confirmed it was ready and even offered to pick me up from the airport. Taking them at their word, I went to the bank for a check made out in the dealership's name and flew in from Las Vegas the next morning. The second I landed, I got a text from the manager: "Oops, we sold the car." No warning, no courtesy call, no apology, no attempt to make it right. Instead, the staff just blamed each other -- one said the manager didn't know, another said the salesperson shouldn't have promised. That doesn't matter. What matters is they strung me along for days, broke their promise, and left me stranded after I traveled across state lines with a bank check in hand. This was a complete waste of my time, money, and energy. At the very least, they could have apologized or offered to cover my flight. Instead, they acted like it meant nothing. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. My partner and I walked in, very upfront and honest about our situation. We were looking for a second car, but we had no down payment and not the best credit. The sales guy we talked to (I think his name was Jesse) told us he would be able to make it work and it's no problem at all, saying he has a favor he can call in because he sends them 150 loans a month. As soon as they ran my partners credit, Jesse said to us "Wherever you buy a car, you have to put money down. I just didn't want to tell you that." (Which isn't true. I know plenty of people with not the best credit who have put $0 down.) At this point, I was ready to leave because I was frustrated at the deception that was shown. Especially after he wanted to tell us all of his sob stories like he was some decent guy. I'm assuming this was to build some type or rapport with us. After this, the finance guy shows up. He's trying to make it work, but can't. I told him we would come back and he says "we want to keep you in this building because statistics say that 3% of people who say they're going to come back, come back." So we stayed just to see what he could do. He says "do you have any money to put down?" I said no. We said we have no money down as soon as we walked in and we were honest about that. He says "you don't have anything? Not $500?" I said nope. He said "$100" I said nope again. He then says "you don't even have $100?" At this point, I had to get up and leave the table. I came back and the sales guy is trying to sell us a car that had just come in that morning that hadn't been serviced or cleaned. It was disgusting and had almost 200,000 miles on it. They didn't even know if anything was wrong with it. We then told them we're going to leave because there was no point in staying there. We ended up going to a Honda dealership who was able to make it work for us and get us a car with our situation. Great interest rate and NO MONEY DOWN. If you're looking to be deceived and taken advantage of, then go ahead and try them out, but I wouldn't recommend, even if you're desperate. read more

My husband had a good experience with the salesman at M&S Auto he was friendly and helpful throughout the buying process. Unfortunately, the vehicle itself has been a completely different story. We purchased the car in August 2024, and the very first time the engine went out was April 2025. The car was literally full on shaking and barely driving it wouldn't go faster than about 15 miles per hour on the freeway. It was a terrifying experience, especially being 9 months pregnant at the time. Thankfully, Kia service at the Elk Grove location replaced the engine at no cost. However, even after the replacement, the problems continued. Since then, the car was towed 6-7 times and brought back to Kia's service department three separate times for big issues. We have an infant daughter, and we could no longer keep a vehicle that unreliable. We didn't want to take any more chances of it breaking down while she was in the car with us. It ultimately became a serious safety concern, and we decided to get rid of the car altogether. Please do your research before purchasing a vehicle here. I strongly suggest buying from a reputable dealership at an automall to avoid going through what we did. It's also known that some small dealerships purchase vehicles at auction that larger dealerships like CarMax and EchoPark are unable to sell, so that's something to keep in mind when making your decision. read more

Was sold a truck few years ago and they only let me drive down streets that speed limit not over 25. Got on freeway on way home and instantly had transmission problem. Took to their mechanic on site, they kept my truck 3 days . mechanic said he took transmission apart saw nothing wrong. Couple days later transmission went out on way to Oakland.paid in full 2005 Chevy avalanche I bought from yall in 2017. My purchase at M&S was by far the WORST car buying experience I've ever had in my life! The DECEIT and DISHONESTY is the last thing you want when buying a car but it was on full display throughout my purchase. I'll break it down: - I pre-scheduled my visit and when I got there I was left waiting for several minutes at a time. And when the salesman did finally come over, it was for 10 seconds at a time, acting very rushed and insisting I quickly sign whatever document was put in front of me. Even when I did ask to look things over, he acted annoyed and dismissive. EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL and the exact opposite of how you'd want to be treated during such a large purchase. - When I eventually got to "financing", the man helping me seemed nice. But as we started going through signing forms, I noticed one for the navigation. I paused and asked him what that was for and if there was a cost, to which he replied, "well yes everything costs money". I soon discovered that they had included a TWO THOUSAND dollar anti-theft package that I never agreed to!! The agent acted surprised and went to get the salesman. After another long wait, he came over and acted shocked because I hadn't had an objection when he quickly showed me a number that included the anti-theft. But he definitely knew what he was doing. Finally I got the agent to go over the cost breakdown in detail, since he had ignored my first 3 requests to do so. It just became so obvious what was happening. They both intended to handle things as vaguely as possible and just hope that I didn't pay any attention when signing. That behavior is deplorable and disgusting for a business that should always be acting with integrity and respect. And then towards the end of my puchase, the agent literally said he was going to do me a favor - he said that usually they hang onto 1 of the keys but this time he's going to let me have both. Um, excuse me, what?! This guy belongs in the 1970's because he's a comical cliche for the sketchy car salesman who thinks he's smarter than everyone else.
