I have a such mixed feelings about freestyle!! I got introduced at their reno location and LOVED shopping and selling there, I attended their events as an influencer and as a customer and had great success selling and shopping there. However, now being in Roseville, its hard to sell, for house of CB, Wondery, and Doc Martens items (10 in total) I only received 63 dollars in return...not very much for the price and quality of the items I sent in. I'd recommend freestyle for shopping every time, but ill be checking out competitors like platos, crossroads and threads moving forward and will let you know how it goes! read more

Preface: The people here are very kind and polite. Nothing against the employee service. Onto the real review: This place kinda sucks. Everything on the rack anymore is fast fashion. The people who choose the items that they accept have ZERO discerning eye for quality. The amount of Shein on the rack is annoying and kind of disturbing. I even saw a skirt from a Spirit Halloween costume on the rack. A COSTUME. Not to mention that these are all overpriced (you're probably paying more for used Shein here than you would direct from Shein). I've also noticed that many of the tags on the clothes have been removed... I wouldn't blink an eye usually but TONS of stuff had their tags removed yesterday. Maybe this is conspiratorial of me, but I suspect they're removing fast fashion brand tags deliberately so that you don't realize you're buying trash. And onto the next thing: I dropped my clothes here for store credit some months ago. They gave me a gift card which was SUPPOSED to have my store credit on it. I went to use it yesterday and they told me the card had NOTHING on it. Seriously? They never loaded the card? I high key feel ripped off. I gave my clothes with the expectation that I'd have store credit and it was never given to me. Do NOT drop your clothes here if you're concerned about being properly compensated. read more

The clothes are pretty worn and ugly . Threads on Vernon is way classier . I usually enjoy thinking but this place just seemed junky . I went in there a few years ago and never went back even though I shopped at Trader Joe's tons. They most likely accept just about any old junk . Better luck and better price points at the Good Will if you want something comparable. read more

The selection and prices here are pretty decent for clothes for teenagers. My daughter even got her prom dress here for $19. We've been two or three times and usually find something for her. I would say their shoe selection looks a little too used. Be warned they close their fitting rooms 30 minutes before they close the store. They didn't warn us about that while we were shopping and we had to come back the next day, I wouldn't sell here because as you can see from their reviews, they don't give very good prices to sellers. read more

It's been a while for me personally since I've taken in clothes to sell here so I had high hopes. Selling here isn't the best if you're looking for the real value of what you bring in is worth. Took in brands, of only clothing, such as Urban Outfitters, CottonOn, RipNDip, and Champion and got $63 cash value for 13 items... with conditions of them being RARELY worn/like brand new and some items being rare/dead stock. If your looking to make a quick buck sure it's nice to sell here but to maximize your profit/return look to selling online or elsewhere if possible. Love this place they have some cool vintage clothes and customer service was good. I bought a nice top for going out and I liked how the racks were setup. The shop was very organized and for the value it was very fair. I will be going back and they do take clothes you bring in and give you credit to use in the store. My experience here was kinda sub-par, to say the least. I had heard all these great things about Freestyle so I decided to check them out. The store is well-organized and the employees seemed nice. However, the selection was not it. I know that it is considered a more up-scale thrift/consignment store, but there were literally items from Shein and Forever 21 that had price tags priced higher than you can get them from those actual stores. Nice items! Started hunting for my costume for Halloween and I started my search in this consignment store. The hunt was even made more fun when a friend of mine came along with me and helped with my search as well as give me tips on the clothing style of that era. Found some clothes (not costume related) that were cute and I almost forgot what I went there for in the first place. I almost left the store empty handed until I saw a small rack towards the front of the door with a handful of "costumes"... I found the perfect one and it fit perfectly! Unfortunately, I couldn't complete my costume just yet because they didn't have the shoes that complemented the outfit. They buy, sell, and trade. So I found out how it worked since I've never sold clothes to a consignment store before. You can bring your items you'd like to sell to any of their locations. They have buyers available every day from open to close that will price your items on the spot. Right now they are looking for Fall trends for men and women. I don't know how they price the items but the item I purchased was $16 and I got a 10% discount at Yelp check-in. The gals working there were all helpful and nice. Lots of dressing rooms in the back of the store. The whole place is nice and kept neat. I didn't find any clothes on the floor. I definitely felt like the oldest person there while shopping last week (Millennial mom of 4 in da house!), lol. Reminds me a lot of Buffalo Exchange in Berkeley, with both the selection and overall vibe of stylish employees, new wave music and unexpected fun clothing finds. I tried on a ton of cute things I found and was pleased with the overall selection and ease of finding hidden treasures. I shop for high quality pieces and am not overly concerned with labels but it's nice to get resale clothing from reputable brands that last, fit well and are made from good materials. That being said, I spied a lot of Anthro and Nordstrom brands, such as Free People, Maeve, etc. I ended up with some perfect additions for Spring/Summer - you can tell they keep the selection pretty current. Went to check out a pair of shoes and in the process of doing so the tag fell off the shoes on my way up to the counter. The employee then took the shoes into the back to do a quick price check so we could continue with the transaction. While the employee was in the back I found the tag on the floor and showed it to another employee as to say they didn't need to go through the hassle of price checking. The original employee then returns with another employee and proceeds to tell me that they had a pricing error on their behalf when first pricing the shoes and that they couldn't sell it to me at the original price. Instead of coming back with a set price for the shoes that they were certain they underpriced, they gave me a ball park number of $50-$55 for the shoes. The original price tag was set at $28. Felt like they were pulling numbers out of thin air for something they were so certain was severely underpriced. Made me feel like I was in the wrong for wanting to purchase shoes at a reasonable price. Not accommodating at all. read more

This is one of my second favorite places to sell items to buy gently used a new items very conveniently located in the Roseville shopping Square right next to Trader Joe shopping center. This is a very clean establishment very clean atmosphere. They have lots of different cute items to choose from including plus sizes, namebrand shoes, pants, handbags, and much more one of my beer places to go to whenever I am in town is freestyle. I always get more than I need lol but you can't beat the prices on the items one of my favorite places, friendly staff great items great experience. I have even found some items that still have the brand new tags on them if you have not checked them out I recommend going to freestyle.com and see if there's something there that you may like I highly recommend freestyle of Roseville. They are a great company and they sell great cute affordable items for everyone One of my go to places thank you freestyle in Roseville you guys are awesome. Really love shopping here but recently I purchased these Nike af1s and they had spiderwebs inside. Do they not clean or Sanitize their items? Either way, I shouldn't be finding spiderwebs in shoes even if their "thrifted". It's not hard to check the inside of shoes and brush off debris. I cleaned them up with bleach & they look like new but kinda disgusted with Freestyle. Point is, clean the clothes when you get them & inspect items before buying. Otherwise I enjoy selling/buying here. read more

I called in advance, hours ahead and spoke to a gal, Angelle. She was nice and helpful. I was clear to indicate what I was brining in and to see if it would be worth a shot considering I was coming from Auburn. I am VERY disappointed. I brought in fall/winter clothes only for the buyer/supervisor to say they don't fit the season they're looking for. I let her know I had spoken to Angelle who assured me these things would qualify including a nice Guess black blazer & with the exception of my long purple dress. Even with dresses on display and a few blazers on the floor, she said it's not what they're looking for. It's black. What do you mean it's not what you're looking for? Not to mention, I sold them a practically new North Face rain jacket and she bought it for $5. I felt judged the moment I walked in. I wish I could back, give them the $20 back and grab my stuff. I came here about an hour or two before closing, hauling my bag of clothes to sell. The salesgirl working the front counter told me that they have had a really busy day & were done accepting clothes. She was polite, and the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. A few days later, I figured it would be best to call ahead to make sure they were still accepting clothes before I made the drive. The girl on the phone was extremely rude and cut me off halfway through my sentence saying "we accept clothes every single day until closing". I started to explain that they didn't accept my clothes last time, but she cut me off again to say that they're still accepting "as long as you're here like, 30 minutes before closing"... Anyway, I made the drive and dropped off my bag at the front counter. I looked around the store, since it would be 30 minutes until they were done sorting through my clothes. I did not find anything in my size (XS), which was weird considering I thought this place was marketed toward younger adults/teens. I was specifically looking for some spring/summer dresses and denim shorts, and I couldn't find ANY items in XS or 24/25, let alone "Petite". There weren't many brands that I recognized, and the racks were so crowded that you couldn't comfortably sort through them. The salesgirl finally called my name and told me that they wouldn't be buying anything I brought because they already had some of my items or the item was "too worn out". I totally understand the first reason, but was confused that she thought everything was too worn out because I had stuff in there with the tags on or only worn once. Although I was bummed that I couldn't sell anything, my review is solely based on the customer service I received and the selection of items/sizes in the store. read more

Writing as a buyer. Haven't sold through here, but I have experience selling at stores like this in the past. That being said, every now and then I'll go into a consignment shop and vintage thrift shop. I like the hunt and thrill of finding a great quality vintage purse. This store is quite large with a good assortment of items. I went recently and managed to find a good condition (albeit dusty), authentic, Dooney and Bourke All Weather Leather purse from the early 1990s for an amazing deal. I snatched it up so fast as this purse has some of the best leather for vintage bags, and I knew the quality of what I had in my hands. This is what it's all about though. If you know your brands and have some time to pick through the racks, there's a sense of accomplishment and thrill to it all when you find something amazing that someone else didn't want anymore. I normally like selling my items here and I had a Louis that I bought a few years ago real with a code but I just didn't use much and I even had the handles fixed on it and so I drop my stuff off yesterday since they don't do on the spot buying anymore even though they said they do once in a while I don't know why they won't make up their mind And so on the way home from work I came over here to pick up my items and I asked them how much do you guys price per set and my total for everything was $25 for a pair shorts in a real Louis Vuitton I told them yeah I will not be selling that with you guys today and I told the girl for future reference next time ask me before you guys want a price something like that is she held up the paint piece of paper she said will you sign this right here or saying that and I told her yeah but it has a code and you know I checked it online and it was real she's like well we have somebody check it and they said it was fake and I'm like well I had a code online that I checked it from and it showed where it was made and everything and the girl with the long black hair was very rude like I was trying to pull fast one on them if it was fake I would've told her it was fake but I for a fact that it's real so nice job on offending me and for the pair shorts they were only going to give me six dollars I looked at her I said wow what a waste of my gas I don't know if I will come back here anytime soon to sell given the fact they were trying to screw me over with a real Louis Vuitton and I know how to spot real Louis Vuitton and fake ones this one has the marks of age from being an older purse and it has a code I looked it up before hand I should've been offered 100 and something dollars not $25 the staff needs to be retrained on how to authenticate items and not just try to sell it for $25 for a real Louis Vuitton are you kidding me So needless to say I was very disappointed with this visit not sure when I'll come back here read more

Over a size 12? Skip this place! This place was next door to a regular shopping haunt, so I checked it out on a number of occasions. Pretty typical used clothing store when it comes to what they offer (graphic t's, jeans, trainers, used shoes and boots). This comes with the caveat that they do not really serve anyone over a size 12. On occasion they will have an item or two which will fit someone in the 14-18 range, but never beyond that. They also don't buy larger sizes. They won't say this directly because the staff are terrified to admit their own fatphobia. They use coded language such as "difficult to wear" or "style differences." I decided to test this and took in several items which were the same as their current offerings (same brand, same item, same color), just in sizes 18-22. They refused any items (including new ones) with the disclaimer it didn't fit their style (meaning size, because they carried the same items in a smaller size). It would be nice if they were simply honest with people that if you are over a size 14 this shop isn't for you. read more

This is such a hidden GEM! I was so excited to find it next to my favorite grocery store Trader Joe's. Not only are the girls who work here so sweet and helpful - Savannah greeted me right away when I came in and she was so great throughout my whole try-on experience. She had the best style and totally helped me narrow down my choices. I had no clue it was her first day because she was so confident and went above and beyond. Honestly really disappointed with this place. Been going here for the past few years and really seen a decline in the customer experience. The staff when I went in today did not know what they were doing and had to keep switching registers because she was confused on how to work it. Not only that they bought 6 items off me and in exchange only gave me thirty dollars. Feels like a waste of effort to come and consign here. Everything I attempt to Consign my clothing, they don't want to offer much money or not take my clothing and yet the things that I see sold on the clothing racks do not look any better. I went to give them one last chance and although the telephone recording says you will obtain money right away, I arrived to have clothes evaluated for consignment and I had to sign a red piece of paper over the Memorial Day weekend that I had to return in 24 hrs to see if they would accept my clothing and to pay me or they would keep the clothing to donate. I called on 2 consecutive days and I was told they were too busy to check on the status of the clothing that I dropped off. As a result, I not only received poor service but I never saw my clothes or money I should have received for many pairs of jeans and other clothing. That's it, that's all and no more chances. Absolutely could not say enough positive things about the Folsom and Midtown locations- I've been going to freestyle since high school..so for over 12 years now and used to live a block away from the midtown location. It's always been a place to waste a little time and maybe find a treasure as well as a nice way to recycle clothing and feel better about my pieces being loved a second time. However, recently we made the move out to grass valley so Roseville is the closest location to me. Whoever is hiring for this location is completely failing the business. I took clothes there this past week to sell (because we just purchased a home and will be moving in a week) I really didn't care about making money as much as just not wasting anything I no longer wear. First off the girls are completely disrespectful and completely lack work ethic. They told me my clothes weren't ready when I returned the following day and said "anytime after 1" so I came back at 1:15, still not ready. Mind you I have my 7 month old and I'm an hour away from home. So I waited in my car another hour and came back- by this time they acted completely annoyed by me checking in multiple times. The young girl offered to write my check for I'm not even sure how much... because I didn't care.. again this isn't about making money. and I looked over to see a pair of limited edition FP overalls priced at 45$ so I said "you know those retail for 298 and I just took the tags off" Mind you, I could understand where this could be taken wrong but I wasn't bringing it up for ME, I was pointing out they could probably make more money if they wanted. The blonde girl who I'm pretty sure is their store manager began to berate me about "how the store works" and then proceeded to act hard along with the girl with face piercings and eyeballing my child??? which like??? lmao sorry I'm a grown up?? Again, I see where the misunderstanding could've been but we easily could've worked through what I was saying if anyone in the store was a mature adult OR had a lick of communication skills. Moreover she proceeded to try to make me look stupid by saying "we are professionals and know what everything is" then why do you have a costume pair of Dollskill platforms that retail for 128$ priced at 84$? Again, I just wanted to clarify you knew you could make more for your store. Also, if you're going to act like a mother with a child and a career are second class citizens my guess is you'll lose some customers along the way. I'll never return to a freestyle store, and to the two girls who wanted to act hard with me- good luck on your future endeavors, maybe pick up some customer service skills and common sense before you spread your wings. read more
