That's when I started calling around for help. Most places I called were quick to ask what was wrong and immediately quote me a fee just to come out. I was considering one of them until I spoke with Meigs. He was awesome. He told me he offers free quotes over the phone, but he didn't just give me a quote. He actually tried to help me troubleshoot the issue right then and there. He spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me, calmly walking me through step-by-step instructions. He suggested there might be another GFCI hidden somewhere else in the house or even in the garage. The garage hadn't even crossed my mind, but it made sense since the restrooms are closer to that side of the house. Since we don't live at the property, I wasn't there at the time to test it. I told him we'd try it when we were back there later in the week. I must've sounded a little flustered because he kindly said, "When you get there, call me if you need me," offering to walk me through everything again if necessary. Sure enough, when we checked the garage, there it was, a GFCI outlet we hadn't noticed before. We reset it, and everything worked like a charm. There was power again in the restrooms downstairs. Thanks to Meigs, he saved me at least $350 of the visit and solved the issue in 10 minutes over the phone. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. I have used Freitas Plumbing a few times now from installing gas lines, water line repair (copper, pvc and other materials), a couple of emergencies and a a few other jobs. They have done solid work every time, explaining how it needs to be, and up front with pricing. When their work is finished, it looks good (not slopped together). Anthony and Kai removed a 15 year old water heater and installed a replacement. Besides installing a commercial grade water heater, they also changed basically everything....hoses, pan, straps, etc. They wore masks and practiced social distancing, were very professional, had great attitudes, and provided clear communication throughout the job. An appointment was set for the following Friday with a 2-hour arrival window. Armando called to let me know they could arrive about a half-hour early. When he and Alvaro arrived, they wasted no time getting to the problem. This is a 1970's era older house and they had to access the cramped crawlspace under the house through a dinky trapdoor located in a closet. Armando took really clear video of the leaking pipe and also of other potential problems with other pipelines so I could see what was happening underneath. They fixed the immediate problem very quickly. I have no idea if the repair cost was the best I could have gotten.
