I had Greer referred to me from another relative our plumbing would leak in the bathroom whenever we ran the washing machine, Jeff came out and seemed to find the issue right away, he ran the high powered snake from his vehicle into the clear out drain outside, he said he was able to clear it out but said it looked like the problem might be at the septic tank, he helped me dig up the lid and sure enough the tank was full even though we just had it serviced a couple years ago, he said I would need a septic person and recommended someone who I had dealt with before, I had no issues with what Jeff did, he did what he could do, really nice guy , we had nice conversation while he was doing his work. The reason for two stars was Jeff arrived at 915am and left at 1030 am, I asked what I owed him but he told me the office would send me an invoice, I expected $250 , $300, even $400 I thought would be expensive but ok, the bill was $750 which I could not believe, l felt so taken advantage of, I paid the bill because he came out and did work, I have dealt with soo many local business due to the work I do and have always felt they were fair and reasonable, this was very disappointing, ruined my day because I enjoyed my interaction with Jeff. read more

I am not happy having to write this post as the company generally does a good job with the service . I have been working them for a few years to service our commercial shopping center on a quarterly basis. For unknown reasons, that service stopped several months ago. I contacted them when an issue came up due the lack of regular hydrojetting in over 9 months. They came out and performed the work and gave no reason why they had not been out quarterly to do the work. The reason for the post is that they immediately demanded a credit card payment the minute the work was done and it was a Sunday. I told them I would be able to Monday morning when in the office to use the business card. Reluctantly, they accepted. I had them perform a similar service at our other local shopping center the next day. As I was out of the office in the late afternoon and they called demanding immediate payment the minute service was done. I told them it would be the next morning when back in the office. The admin speaking said the boss was screaming at her to get payment now. Reluctantly, I used my personal card to satisfy them, but will not be using them again. No reasonable business should demand COD or only credit card payments at time of service. Especially for large commercial businesses. They should have options or Net(x) payment for commercial businesses. This will cost them alot of money and we will do business elsewhere. read more

I called on a Wednesday to have my kitchen drain snaked. 4 years ago I had Terry from this company snake my drain and I had a wonderful experience. Vince came on a Friday morning. He snaked my drain and was unable to remove the clog, he said it was too far away.He peeked under my house and told me I needed all new pipes. When I asked him how new pipes would fix a clog, he said that it would fix it. I was confused, but forgot about asking for details when he told me the price of $250 for the hour. He then told me that I would receive an email with the estimate for the pipes within 2 hours. He was always polite and friendly. I did not receive and still have not received any estimate and it is now over a week later. I called back on Saturday morning and left a message. The nice lady that handles the phones called me back on Monday. I relayed all my concerns to her and she said that Vince hadn't turned in his paperwork until that day (why would this be done when telling me 2 hours?) , so someone would call me back. Later on Monday, Jeff Greer called me and answered my all questions about why new pipes were needed and said that he would call on Friday as he was out of town at a conference and come by either Friday or Saturday to give me an estimate for the repairs. He never called or came by (no text, email, smoke signal, etc) It is now 10am on Monday, a week and a half since my original call without a working kitchen sink and I'm out $250 (not told to me over the phone or in person before work was started) and I have to call a new plumber. I'm disappointed and tired of washing my dishes in my bathroom. All people were friendly and nice, it's the service that disappoints. read more

Easy 5 stars for Greer Family Plumbing. I made the mistake of calling two other plumbers before calling Greer and both of them said that the water heater needed to be replaced without even looking at it or coming to the house. Greer came out within the hour showed me what was wrong with it and was able to fix it. The cost was more than I wanted it to be but I trust them and don't feel like I was taken for a ride at all. The other two plumbers I didn't trust at all and it would have been twice as much if I had them do it. Needed a new water heater. I'll say they were quick to respond, and we have hot water. But the labor bill was insane. $1100 for about an hours work at the house. I had to remind the plumber to write me an estimate, and then it wasn't broken down into parts and labor. Just a total. But I had to have hot water, they sure know how to take advantage. read more

Called for estimate for gas range shut off installation. The service tech that arrived was polite and right on time. He explained all the options, codes and requirements. After inspection he determined it would not be cost effective to do the work. I really appreciated the honesty and integrity. He could have easily pushed for thousands of dollars of work but he showed the company is about doing things right not just doing them for profit. read more

On May 17, 2021 Greer Family Plumbing company poorly fixed a ceiling water leak downstair on my family room above a bathroom upstairs and charged me $298.00 for a 15 minutes job. To top if off when I checked my credit card statement the next day May 18, 2021 this company charged me twice. All this plumber (Jeff) did, was put a $5 worth of gasket in a bathtub without even touching nor fixing the shower faucet valve cartridge. So, to make the story short the leak is still there. After my wife complained, Greer Family Plumbing company send another plumber on May 24, 2021 and all he did was put a sealant around the shower faucet thinking it would stop the leak downstair family room ceiling. My wife again called and complained that the leak is still there every time someone take a shower. The company told her they are sending people on May 26, 2021 and that they would open up the ceiling and charged me another $500. What a rip off plumbing company. read more

I called Greer Family Plumbing this morning after discovering that I had a pretty major pipe leaking in my garage. My last plumbing experience with a competitor was horrible (like told me the job was done, took my check and went to get the invoice-when I turned on the water, it flowed out of my cabinet and all over the floor as the "plumber" drove away with my check) so I was nervous to say the least. The dispatcher/receptionist was kind and reassuring, took my basic information and called me back with an appointment time in less than 5 minutes. (Sorry, I forgot her name) she gave me a time frame (less than 2 hour wait, how great is that!) and got the rest of my info. The plumber arrived on time (actually a few minutes early, which I loved), and completed the repair quickly. Jeff was the plumber and he was great! Jeff was also understanding that I am a nurse and didn't want to get too close to him due to the ongoing COVID outbreak. Recently our kitchen sink was draining slowly. We contacted a local drain cleaner service which could not clear the obstruction. I contacted Greer Family Plumbing, Michelle was very helpful and arranged for a plumber to be at my home later in the day. This is an update from previous post from March 2014. I finally spoke to Jeff we had been missing each other's phone call. I advised how unhappy I was with the service that we had received and that we were charged and it was not resolved, he listened to me vent and was very apologetic to my situation and wanted to come out and fix the problem himself. I told him it was taken care of we spoke of the charge and he offered to refund a portion of the charge. I really appreciated that he said he would call his office to issue the request. He even offered his service if needed in the future and he said I could call him directly if I needed anything. Wow! You don't ever hear that a owner will go above and beyond to make sure I am a happy customer. I thanked him and hope I don't ever need to use a plumber but if I do I will surely give them a call. read more

I hired Greer to put in a heavy cast iron kitchen sink a few weeks ago. They were here on time and they cleaned up after themselves. They did a great job of installing the difficult sink because it did not fit originally. It looks beautiful, they even found problems that other plumbers left behind (like hot and cold water connections hooked up backwards). A few days later I found a very small leak.
