When I called them to send a document to them per THIER request, that customer service rep just didn't give me any workable solutions with her arrogant attitude, without any solutions to my inquiry AGAIN to respond to THEIR letter as much as I can. She needs to be retrained to learn what customer service is, or look for other job. This means that we have essentially given the miserable institution a month's free loan of that money. And more excused. "The check was cut on the 22nd". Was it mailed on the 22nd? "I cannot verify that". Where was it sent form? "Livermore" Are you not concerned that it is taking more than 7 days for the check to go 50 Miles? "Not really". Took out a loan and was told if rates dropped in 6 months I could refinance for free. Six months went by and interest Rates dropped so I could and was told they changed their policy so I would have to wait a few more months. Customer service seems to be lacking at this location. The tellers need more training I didn't hear any of them conversing with the customers. My teller, Ronald acted like he didn't want to help me. When I said Hi how are you? He didn't respond. When I said I was going to cash a check he didn't think I was already a customer at the bank. He never asked if I needed help with anything else, which I did. I applied to refinance our home. So far I have spent at least 12 hours online filling out forms, downloading documents (in several cases I had no idea where to get the documents because no instructions were given), two trips to UPS to have documents faxed and one trip to your branch in Carmel (20 miles away). The only thing they haven't asked for are our latest colonoscopy results, but the loan isn't finished yet, so they still may. We have plenty of equity, an income far above the ratio requirements, and excellent credit. I've gone through this process over the years a number of times, but have never experienced anything like this. If I wasn't into it as far as I am, I would tell to stick their loan were the sun doesn't shine. read more

There are many many reasons to dislike Fremont bank. From their services (or lack of), websites, mobile banking, phone customer support. I have had the displeasure of using them for both personal and business purposes. Their methods are slow and dated. Their online features are too limited and not user friendly. Many services can not be automated or accessible online. Everything seems to require calling via phone to customer service which wastes a lot of time. I don't sit at a desk so it's hard to get to the phone during the day. So it takes longer to get things done. Phone service quality is poor as well. It is extremely irritating to have to call in the first place, then having to speak with unhelpful or rude customer service agent just makes things that much worse. They place very long holds on checks written and deposited. They always call to verify things even for small dollar amounts. Again nothing automated like text or email verification. Again since I never have a phone on me I have to call back during normal business hours to verify which delays even more! Unfortunately I'm locked into using Fremont bank for certain reasons, however, I have other bank accounts elsewhere and I prefer to use them instead if possible. I will not miss Fremont bank when I can finally close all my accounts with them. read more

What NO LINES!!! If you have to wait you just hang in the chairs in the lobby. I have been banking with Fremont Bank for 3 years. I get a phone call if there is a checking pending that is going to clear that needs me to make a deposit. Also unlike BofA and Wells who clear all there checks at night. The good - this branch is friendly and secure. They have free parking but you have to ask how to access it. They're open Saturday mornings. Now, for Fremont Bank, in general: I got a HELOC with this bank 18 months ago. The process took forever. I've refinanced in under 30 days several times, but this took 2.5 months! My fault for not realizing they have only one branch in Santa Clara County, smack in the heart of downtown San Jose. Makes direct connection difficult - had to fax lots of stuff to them, way beyond a refi. They are always super nice and helpful, in person and on the phone. But their system sets you up to fail. They require you to open a checking account, into which you make your payment. Your loan then withdraws automatically from the checking. It turns out the loan dept is completely separate from the banking part of the bank, even has different phone numbers, and never the twain shall meet. One side can't see the other side's info, so straightening out a problem is very difficult. If something does go wrong, you get fined three times: first from the checking (attempted overdraft), then from the loan dept ( Because there wasn't enough money in the checking) then the Loan Dept nicely calls you to tell you, but charges $20 to make a payment over the phone! And this happened because their app didn't send my deposit! I highly recommend doing a HELOC with your regular bank or credit union (or make this your bank, if it's convenient )it will make the process, and the aftermath - so much easier to deal with! read more

The bank web site lists the daily interest rate for a no point, no cost (refinance) loan. Fremont Bank does what it promises you (truly no cost to you on these refinance loans). They will collect the $495 application fee up front and a $300 rate lock (if you choose) up front, then they give you back those two amounts at closing. I have been thru a recent difficult short sale transaction (I am the buyer), and Josh and Josie worked hard until the very end to ensure the loan got funded in time. I appreciated the open communication as Josh and Josie would answer my questions in a timely manner. This bank will itemize all closing costs clearly for you with no hidden extra cost like some other lenders. These guys have earned my trust after several refinances and purchasing loans with them. read more

Although I have no issues with the mortgage and related services that I have availed from Fremont Bank (which was at the Fremont at location), my reviews and experience here is completely based off this location. I do not want to sound like a grumpy old man but the customer service here wasn't professional. I waked into the bank at a relatively busy jour, not the busiest to say. As soon as I walked in, one of the personal banker asked me to take a seat. There were a couple of reps dealing with one customer each. I waited. Then I see the door opening and a lady walking directly past me and along a just vacant seat. The rep actually looked at me, giving me hope that this would corrected, but eventually ignited and continued serving the lady. Then there was another guy who came in and to his conscious stood next to the rep area. The rep serving a customer looked at me and continued. As soon as the customer left her desk, I began to standup assuming I am next but the guy standing next to her desk just took it and the rep said nothing. By the way she was the one who asked me to wait when I came in. I do not understand what happened and why was I being treated like this. I can draw conclusions of my own and use twitter and Facebook to promote "this" behavior with my interpretations. I won't. But I would definitely not recommend anyone this branch and maybe tell what i went thru. Sorry Fremont Bank, with this behavior it's easy for anyone firm an opinion that your customer reps single out people. I hope they don't assume the basis of this singling out without reason. Finally someone saw me and offered me to make my check deposit and send me the receipt on email later. Although getting the receipt is the sole purpose I came over to the branch, I still agreed. I was lead to a guy who had difficulty pulling me up and ended in a scenario where he had to enunciate my SSN in the vicinity. Not something I would expect from banks who are hellbent on security. DO NOT GO THERE !!!! the rates are what they say but by the time their done with you you would gladly pay the extra quarter % ..they have the most incompetent people handling loans ever..they have to bring these people off the street and put them on the phone...They will ask you for the same forms 100 times..I received 3 full packets of the loan application almost 2months into the process, all forms had already been submitted..was told if they weren't returned promptly the loan would be dropped and I would have to start again..this after having submitted all docs at least 3 times..their loan agents NEVER return calls...they prefer to communicate via E-mail and that they do every 3rd day so it takes 4 to6 business days to get a response then not only are your questions not answered but you get another request for more docs!! I have recently refinanced my primary residence with Fremont bank. I found their rates are best among all banks and among all online mortgage brokers. The whole loan processed was very smooth and it was fast. All 3 different individuals I dealt with during loan process were wonderful and very helpful. They were always available to answers my questions and they were fast in getting back to me with answers. The whole process was very simple and did not require any unnecessary documents to close the loan. My loan was approved and ready to close in less than 6 weeks. I am glad that I chose Fremont Bank. I had a small concern while opening checking account but San Jose Branch Manager quickly and professionally resolved all my concerns.
