My BMW X3 got a battery fire and the whole battery area and the surrounding were burn out. The BMW dealer declared that it was not repairable. So did by many import car and european car shops, becasue they said that the whole main body hardness needs to be replaced - the part is extremely expensive and the labor is huge . With his skills and experience, Anil - the shop onwer, told me that he could fix it. Evenutally, he did. The repairing involved a lof of wiring and many module replacements. I won't be going back to them ever, even if they offered free service.. I had completely put my trust and recommended to friends and fam, idk what I saw in them but i was willing to get fixed anything on my car with them.. My last service for my 80s Volvo was the trailing arm bushings.. 600 nice spent dollars... Wrong. Apparently they're professionals who can tell or notice when something is loose... I been driving to work back and forth over 80 miles a day and hearing some clunking, the first day i got my car back i noticed it ..but thought to myself maybe the bushings just need to settle in... But as days went by the clunking only got worse and louder. Turns out the trailing arm bolts were completely loose .. i got under the car yesterday to check because i got suspicious.. and there it was bolts almost completely off. I was able to take the nut off by hand. I hate it that specially now a days when you pay for a service by "pros" you have to check the work. Replacement of the fuel level sensors on my 2006 Volvo XC70 required two trips to the shop and when the car was finally "ready", it reeked of gas. I went for a defective lamp light coming on into 97 E320. I had replaced bulb just a month ago. And now it it was intermittent. I took it to Anil. Anil so quickly found out I have bad brake bulb again and replaced it. It could be simple issue but Anil so quickly doubted there may be a brake bulb issue, pin pointed the problem and replaced it. First of all, I have to give it up to Anil and his team for doing a great job on my BMW. When I bought my car, I bought it from an independent dealer instead of a BMW dealer. WATCH OUT FOR ORIGINAL PARTS! Gave the car for an oil change and some work. When the car was picked up, the steering wheel which was a special and had heating was swapped out with a dirty old one. Just an update. He's excellent and fair, perhaps too fair. My only concern is that he'll get sick of this business and decide to quit it. Another example: My 2002 Volvo recently failed a smog check. I brought it in and after looking over the car for a few minutes, Anil told me, "Oh, you need a new gas cap". He opened a box and told me he'd sell me one for $40. I had to insist that I'd pay him something for his time and labor. We're all experienced with repair shops, and you can Imagine what would have happened if I had taken it to a dealer to resolve this problem -- there'd be the diagnostics that'd have to be run with its attendant labor costs, easily hundreds of dollars. read more

We spent years searching for a good Volvo mechanic, but ended up taking our car out of town (across the bay) for service at a dealership until about 2004. That was when we learned about Fremont European. Anil, the owner is a top-notch Volvo mechanic. He can troubleshoot and fix what stumps most others who say they can fix Volvos. His first repair on our car was something that no one else could figure out. We have since bought another previously owned Volvo, and this is the only place I will take the car to be serviced. Anil always charges a fair price, and he doesn't recommend repairs that are not necessary. He also always gives a heads-up about when a major repair should be due. I brought my Porsche Boxster here this weekend for an oil change and was pleased with the service I received. Anil, the owner and Luis, his staff delivered excellent service. I was out within an hour after doing a multi-point inspection (fluids, brake conditions, suspension/underchassis, etc.) and the oil change. And they only charged me half of what the dealer would! I looked at the receipt and realized that most of what I paid for were the parts, not the labor. I called and got my car towed to the garage around 2pm Monday (today is Tuesday), and it was ready for me at 3pm Tuesday. It was reasonable for the price and they were very friendly and Anil was very knowledgeable. He explained everything, so I didn't feel like he was just trying to get more money from me. My only suggestion would be call people faster about their cars so they don't have to call? I called twice but then again, calling me could've been next on her list - she's one person. Extremely pleased with the professionalism and expertise of Fremont European in fixing my BMW545i. They fixed an engine oil leak, a leak in my power steering, my active cruise control, and a break leak. Now my car runs great.
