Very nice people. Brought my car here this morning to get my trunk lift gate struts replaced....it was a rainy day and most mechanics are wary of touching a Tesla. It's not a complicated job but if we are not careful the trunk hood might knock out our head, so its not safe to do by myself. So as a senior citizen I was having a tough time getting it done by anyone. But these guys did it in less than five minutes and declined to accept any payment! Obviously I am bringing my other vehicles here from next time onwards...nice people need to get rewarded. read more

Very disappointed with this shop. He ordered the wrong parts for me , so I had to find the correct parts myself. I paid cash first, but he kept delaying my repair because he said they had another customer. I needed my car the same day. Am I not a customer too? The mechanic noticed my radiator hose was loose, but instead of installing a new clamp, he just pushed the hose back. I didn't trust it, so I adjusted the clamp myself to make sure the hose wouldn't come off. He also pointed to the pink fluid under my car and told me it was a Freon leak. That made no sense. Freon is not pink--the fluid was ATF. On a high-mileage car, a small ATF leak is not unusual. It made me question whether he was trying to sell me an unnecessary A/C repair. The mechanic also kicked my car's splash shield onto the floor. It showed no respect for my car. read more

Brought my Mazda in to replace the radiator hoses, the serpentine belt, water pump, thermostat housing, and drain and fill transmission fluid. So there was a good amount of work that needed to be done. Needless to say, Michael is the guy to see. His prices are competitive and fair but what made me choose him was his attention to detail. I went around to other shops but none had the attention to detail that made me comfortable enough to want them to do the work except for Michael. When I picked up the car, he showed me all the parts that were replaced. I liked that detail because it reassures me that the work was actually done. Good honest mechanics are hard to find. I am glad I met Michael and his team, one less thing to worry about. He always recommends OEM parts and guarantees his work. He takes the time to thoroughly access the situation even if the customer tries to diagnosis the problem themselves, like me. Recently I brought the car in for what I was 100% sure was a bad wheel bearing and some routine fluid flushes. Michael took the car out and inspected the bearing. After the fluid flush , he informed me by phone that the wheel bearing is fine saving me a few hundred dollars. Honda dealer quoted me close to 500 dollars for the wheel bearing replacement. I was referred by a friend to Car Import Specialist several years ago. I've always babied my car by bringing it to the dealer directly. However, dealer car maintenance prices were becoming pricey, service was not satisfactory, and customer service was lacking. I also felt that they were not honest and were always there to find something else wrong to add on to the cost. After taking my car to Car Import Specialist the 1st time, they were top notch in everything that I was looking for in a car shop. I knew this was going to be the place where I was going to take my cars both old and new. Honesty was a big part of my liking towards this shop. Here's an example: I recall a time when I knew my brakes needed replacement. I came into the shop requesting that ALL my brakes be changed. After inspecting my brakes, I received a call from one of their techs. It was mentioned that the front brakes definitely needed replacement, but the rears still had about 30% life. Unless I wanted to spend the extra money now, they would go ahead and replace them all. Their suggestion was to still wait several month and then call them to replace the rears. I knew if this was a dealership, they would had me replace all 4 without any explanation that the rears are not necessary at this time. I would say that I've been taking my cars over 10+ years now even though I have to drive 40 minutes away. Throughout those years, I have referred both friends and relatives. All have had positive experiences and are returning customers. This shop has a great reputation among the local community too. I still remember attending a wedding event and the discussion somehow got into car maintenance with a few couples who were strangers to me. It so happens that those 2 couples both took their cars to Car Import Specialist. LOL. The shop doesn't do any advertising because their shop has been successful on referrals alone. read more

I was attempting to leave to go to work this morning and the car wouldn't turn over. I got a jump and took it in to the shop. The car died again when it got there. Dong, the new owner, made time to check out my car. Dong is friends with the old owner, Michael. He assessed the car and found the alternator was bad and had been sapping the battery. I agreed to have it replaced and then if necessary, the battery would be replaced. One of the mechanics gave me a ride home. He replaced the alternator with an OEM and put in a 5-year battery.
