He was incredibly patient and helpful throughout the entire process, guiding us through different shades and types of wood and carpet, and giving thoughtful recommendations along the way. We did run into a small issue with the carpet, but Obaid communicated with us every step of the way and made sure we landed on a solution that worked perfectly for us. Our four bathrooms require wear and tear updates . We added new tile in one bathroom, repaired subfloor damage, updated plumping to code, and caulking. The second bathroom had loose floor tiles, and were removed, cleaned up and reinstalled. Also required re caulking around the tub/shower. The third bathroom had loose bullnose tile requiring removal cleanup and re-installed, as well as re-caulking around the vanity back splash and shower. The fourth bathroom shower wall, vanity backsplash and shower door were re caulked. Fremont Tile & Carpet reviewed each bathrooms and made suggestions on the amount of work required. The manager Obaid, helped us to select new tile for one bathroom (it looks great), suggested reuse of existing tile in two other bath, wrote up a description and estimate covering all work. The work took a span of a week start to finish and went very well. Floor and rugs were covered and all the work was executed very professionally. I would use FT&C again. read more

I have worked with this company on two Projects. First Tileing our Kitchen Floor and second carpeting the second floor bedrooms 3 years later. The quality of work is some of the best I have seen in my 30-plus years of remolding. Our experience with Fremont Tile and Carpet was great. Beginning with the showroom which has an extensive display of all sorts of tile, glass, and natural stone. We went into the store thinking of a particular tile design but after looking at all of the displays we decided on a natural stone for our fireplace remodel. It turned out beautiful. We also carpeted the same room and found a variety of options. Obaid came out and measured the room for the carpet and set up the installation. The carpet installation was completed a week and a half later, the installers arrived on time and did a beautiful job. They were very careful with the walls and baseboards. We went in in March and had Obaid gave us some selections. He came out and gave us a quote on carpet and tile for the fireplace in March. My wife if 51 years came down with stage 4 cancer and passed in May. Contacted Obaid in late July, he honored the quote from March and ordered the carpet and installed by August 2. His installers showed up at 8:15 and Obaid showed up a few minutes later to move all the furniture. They finished up at 6:15 after laying 676 square feet and Obaid was back to install the furniture. So the person showed me a some samples The sample the person showed us it was stone material and the person made us paid up front when we received the item it was plastic with a white. So when I contacted the person and told him to fix the item the person said he will charge 35% fee to return the item. The selection of tiles are excellent here. I had a very specific look I wanted for my bathroom floor and walls, and Fremont Tile & Carpet were the only ones that had them (besides ordering them online from another store without seeing them in person). They came quickly as well (within one week of placing order). I was also impressed with the knowledge of the employee (Obide and another man helped us, two different times). I'm taking off one star because of pricing. They are super expensive and charged me $250 for freight charges (they said that was standard practice). My husband and contractor both said that was unheard of, not to mention a charge of $15 per tube of caulking. But overall, I would recommend Fremont Tile & Carpet if you want a great selection and are willing to pay a bit more. read more

We went to five stores for replacing the carpet in our den. Fremont Tile & Carpet by far had the best selection, prices, and customer service. We are often barefoot and always without shoes in our home, so we wanted as soft as can be carpet for our den. Obaid showed us a wide range of options in various price ranges and was extremely candid about durability and ease of cleaning with each option, as we do have a kiddo and dogs. When Obaid came to our home for the measurements he was very thorough in discussing with my husband the various options they could do re running ethernet etc. cables underneath the carpet along the perimeter and transitions since our den connects to multiple other rooms and flooring types in our home. Obaid was also beyond accommodating with scheduling the installation - we did not make this easy on them at all (sorry!). The now installed carpets exceeds our expectations in look and feel - it's so incredibly plush!  We couldn't be happier.  We also wanted to commend the installer.  He was punctual, polite, incredibly detailed, very tidy, and receptive to making adjustments for the cables we have under the carpet since my husband reconfigured them somewhat between the measurement and installment dates. read more

We worked with Obaid on our bathroom project. We chose Fremont Tile and carpet because they had previously done some floor tile work in our other bathroom several years ago. Our project was a complete bathroom makeover including a tub replacement. We had the floor tiled, as well as the area around the tub tiled up to the ceiling and a new swing-out glass tub door. We also had the walls and ceiling texturized and painted. Obaid was very good at helping us choose materials and styles. He was able to show us previous jobs he had completed which really helped us make our decision. He had good experience working with couples that had different ideas. The work started when it was scheduled and the guys that did each step of the project really knew their areas of expertise. They were all professionals. At the end of each day, things were cleaned and packed up so the impact on the rest of the house and the family was minimal. When the old flooring and tiles were removed, we discovered a lot of short cuts had been taken over 30 years ago, as well as rodent damage. The subflooring had a lot of rot that needed replacing. We also decided mid job to have the pipe work done between the bathrooms so when it's time to re-pipe the house, we won't need to open up the bathroom walls again Even with the extra work (not entirely unexpected given the age of the bathroom), the job was completed with only a few days of slippage. In spite of all of the damage that needed to be addressed, the project came in pretty close to the original estimate. Obaid checked in with us frequently and made sure there were no construction issues along the way. We will use Fremont Tile and Carpet for a couple of other projects we are considering. I really appreciate how they handled our project from start to finish and coordinated each phase of the project. They got this project done for us in spite of the pandemic. They were great at following all of the guidelines regarding distancing and masks. They also tried to minimize the disruption to my job, given I was working from home and had to be on many conference calls. It was very much appreciated. read more

We love our new carpets! After procrastinating for too long, we decided to go ahead and replace the carpet in our family room. From our first visit to Fremont Tile and Carpet, we were made to feel welcome. No pushy sales person to intimidate us. We were allowed to look, touch and discuss as long as we wanted, with no pressure. Then when we had questions, we were given a lot of information about our various choices. We felt comforted by their depth of knowledge. Our next visit, resulted in them coming out to measure and advise us on our options of where the seams may go. We chose to minimize the seams and use the excess carpet on our stairs. Though my husband had some reservations about carpeting the stairs, I am so glad we did. They came out quicker than we had expected for the install. The installer did an awesome job! I can't even begin to tell you how courteous and professional he is. I never realized our old carpet wasn't installed correctly on our stairs until he did them. Now they follow the contours of each step instead of having a hollow space behind the carpet on the riser. Even the spot where the old carpet meets new, blends in beautifully. We couldn't be more pleased. Their prices are reasonable and they do a good job. Notices that most of the reviews were from some years ago, so thought I'd lob mine in. A decent selection, but service after purchase was unhelpful. Bought a bunch of hardwood for installation by our contractor. Didn't know the transition heights we'd need, but got charged for all the transitions along with the full order. Contractor ended up buying the transitions elsewhere and installing them. Went back to get a refund on the undelivered transitions and was told he'd have to check his records and he didn't have them right then. Was told he'd call, but he never called. Pain to go back and forth and argue over things, so I had to let it go. You'd think the large amount of flooring I bought at their not cheap prices would be enough to work with me. Never got my money back. Worth your time to go a little further to all the flooring stores in San Jose. At least as much selection, likely lower prices, and customer service couldn't be any worse. read more

The prior owners of our house bought their kitchen backsplash tile at Fremont Tile & Carpet, so we came here hoping to get a match for the new window sill. We brought a sample with us, and Habib was able to order exactly the same tile for us, only in a larger size. He had 6x6 tile in stock, but we wanted 12x12 tile so there would be fewer grout lines. Habib was happy to accommodate our small order (just four pieces), but the shipping charge was $20 on $40 worth of tile. Still, he got us exactly what we needed, and it arrived right on time. They seem to have a very large selection, and when we needed some extra Happy Floors "Living Cream" bullnose tile on short notice, he could have ordered that for us as well (although, again, the shipping charge would have been fairly significant). read more

Today, mark the first day for these people to come out to remove the old carpets and they didn't show up or call. We made a call to the office and the receptionist said another job has come up. They will call us back to give us a time of when they can get out there. We literally paid more than a half down deposit already. Let see if this company deserves a 5 star or 1 star or a letter from the Better Business Bureau. They didn't call but showed up 4 hours later to remove the carpets. The carpet guys came and remove the old carpets and installed the new carpets in one day. Did an amazing job. Definitely recommend their service but the customer service needs some adjustments. read more

It's hard to believe some of these people went to the same store. Habib was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I am an engineer and I have both built and remodeled homes. They have a great selection of the most up to date products. It's a small business so you need to be patient if there are other customers in the store. The service here was much better than we received anywhere else. I can't imagine what happened to the others to elicit such negative, angry comments. I have recommended Habib to others. read more
