I chose this place because they use Dazzle Dry and that's a polish/system I like. When I use "regular" nail polish, I'm lucky if it doesn't start chipping immediately and I hate it to look like that so until I learned about Dazzle Dry, I would just get my fingernails buffed. But DD looks great and lasts for at least a week, even on my fingers, even after typing and cooking and so on throughout the day. I had a good experience here. There were a couple ladies who I think walked in and because they wanted to sit together, I opted to do my fingers first and pedicure second. It worked out ok but next time I might want to have them do it in the typical order both so that my toes have time to dry and that I can feel more free to use my hands during the pedicure. Luckily I was just listening to podcasts so I didn't need my hands much. The one star came off because I was slightly disappointed in their color selection or lack thereof. It wasn't tiny, but they didn't have nearly the range of colors that I was expecting. Lots of pinks and there were only a couple colors I would have wanted (luckily I found one of them), so I'm not sure what happens next time I come. I may call them to see if I can bring in my own bottle because I don't want to miss out on a color I really like because they don't have it or because someone else got there before me. My toddler was very impressed and she has said multiple times in the two days since I had my nails done that she likes my nails. I think for her birthday we're going to go together and have our nails painted. Now that she knows the outcome, I hope she's willing to be patient and enjoy the treatment. read more

The young woman there did not understand the concept to NOT put no chip nail polish on the cuticle because it will allow water to get underneath and peel away. She did and I went back to repair it and Kim did a really bad job. I think they are new owners. It was for today to get my nails done for my wedding tomorrow but I have to be back to work as soon as my appointment was done. They just told me it was going to be a 15-20 minute wait longer plus the 10 minutes I was already there sitting. I pop into this salon 3-4 times a year and have always been satisfied. Not thrilled, but satisfied. It has an old-fashioned feel to it, which is not a bad thing. And they do a nice foot massage and scrub. My complaint isn't with the service; it's with the outright demand for a tip. When I entered, I noticed that they had a Venmo sign right by the Tips in Cash sign. When I was getting ready to get out of the chair, the manicurist came up to me with an iPad and said, "Tip please." And I said, "I wanted to ask about that Venmo sign," to which she shook her head and said, "no, cash tip please." (I wanted to ask if they wanted the tip via Venmo, but the more I asked, the louder she got, repeatedly saying, "NO, TIP please!)" Another attendant came over and she and I spoke, but by now I was getting angry as the first one STILL kept saying Tip Please! I turned to her and said, "yes, I get it. Just give me a minute!" I think this Tip/cash thing at nail salons has gotten a bit out of hand, but nothing like my experience at French 4U. I was really upset and I really felt harassed. Worst pedicure I've ever received. Before I start with the negative, I will say that they do stay open past closing to accomodate customers, but do a VERY rushed job. As far as the actual pedicure went, my mom and I were sitting next to each other, and we had VERY different experiences. Most places will round out the corners of my nails, as they're pretty short to begin with. This lady decided to cut mine to the quick, and in some cases, all the way down to the skin (ouch! my left ring toe still stings.) They buffed only the nails on my right foot, completely forgetting my left, and did a terrible job anyways; the woman was litterally just smacking my toes with the buffer, not even bothering to get the actual nails. The sea scrub and hot towel treatment were nice, but felt rushed (slap-on, slap-off) and while my mom got a nice leg and foot massage, my pedicurist skipped that part altogether for me. A major thing for me are calluses. I'm a teller at a bank, so my days are ten hours of standing in the same spot in front of a computer, which builds up nasty heel calluses. My pedicurist ignored these completely; she swiped a paddle buffer over my left heel, but didn't touch my right foot at all, and ignored the balls of my feet as well. Lastly, the paint job was shabby; she took more time on this part than the rest of my pedicure combined. She painted them like she was still in beauty school, only painting the middle portion of the nail and leaving the back and side edges bare. The polish was globby and she got a ton of it on my skin. I ended up going home and repainting them myself, I was so frustrated. I did see other clients getting a small shoulder rub at the drying station, but we never made it there as there was a huge group of teenage girls who refused to leave even well after their nails were dry. The place seemed clean, although I didn't seem them cleaning the tools between clients, and when it came time to paint my nails, she pulled a handful of clearly used toe spacers out of her pocket to use on me. I haven't been back here in a while, nor do I really plan to. I tried ignoring the negative reviews and repeatedly rougher service that I had experienced here multiple times, but was finally unable to accept it anymore. The staff is friendly and you can tell that most care about their service, however it just doesn't go much further than that. I showed up at 6 one weekday as it was the only time I could come in before a big event, and I understand that they close at 7 and this only gave them an hour to give me a manicure, but the remaining 4 workers essentially turned off all of the lights around 6:45 and were crowded in front of the door waiting for me to leave as my nails were drying. This caused me to feel rushed even though my nails were nowhere near dry, and I eventually ended up scuffing them while getting in my car. Despite this incredibly unprofessional and rude service, I continued to go back multiple times. In these next times, I think every time I went I came out with bleeding cuticles. This is essentially the main reason why I can't bring myself to go back. It is very unsanitary to have this happen multiple times, and there is no reason to be so rough that my cuticles bleed, when I can just try cleaning mine up by myself. I really wish I could come back and that I could give a good review, but overall I have experienced too many negatives to do so. Mostly friendly staff, but can definitely receive way better service elsewhere. read more

Absolutely the worst manicure I have ever had wish I could rate lower than 1 star. This place charged me $100 and spent two hours working on a dip manicure that in my experience should take 45 minutes and be no more than $60. Left with nails that were uneven and thick, when they started to fall off 10 minutes after leaving. I went to request a refund and they wouldn't offer one. Wish I had a picture to share how awful the treatment was but all of the nails came off within minutes. I have never written a review but for such poor service I hope this saves someone's nails and time. read more

The salon was super clean and very tranquil (no tvs were on, just nice music). The ped chair was very comfortable and the nail tech was great. Her name is Gloria. I ended up getting a manicure also. I really enjoyed the foot scrub/massage; and the neck/back massage for a few minutes at the drying station is a very nice touch as well. I had gone to French 4 U a few times about a year ago for pedicures, and it was a great experience! Like a previous yelper states, Gloria was awesome, but is no longer there This place is TERRIBLE now!! I went there a few weeks ago to get a full set of pink and whites, and everything about the experience was awful! My appointment was at 5pm, and I was still there at 7pm while they were cleaning the floors and turning the lights off! It does not take 2 hours to apply nails. Not only was I rushed out, but within 24 hours 3 NAILS HAD BROKE!! They applied SOOO little acrylic that you could not do anything without them breaking. I went back the next day to get them fixed and they told me I was "rough on nail". Uhhhh no I was not rough on nail, you just suck! Within 2 days the french manicure was rubbing off and looked like crap. I do NOT recommend this place whatsoever!!! read more

I love the atmosphere inside and the ladies are all very nice, but I ended up getting a toe nail fungus from them..yuck. My mom got it too and I don't ever go and get a pedicure so it wasn't from any where else. So that could only mean they don't clean their tools and pedicure bowls very well. And they don't turn down clients that have a fungus..which is disgusting. So now I'm weird and bring my own tools to nail salons because I don't ever want that to happen again. read more

It's a nice place on the inside, but the service to me was unfriendly. The first experience a year ago wasn't a happy relaxing time. The only reason I returned was to use a gift certificate I received. No smile or eye contact. I felt rushed choosing polish color even though no one else was waiting. Today I received a pedicure from Liah and it was terrible. The whole pedicure took 15 minutes and she barely sloughed the skin off my feet. I gave this place 4 stars for a few reasons. First, it's clean. Second, manis are $14. Third, they are efficient. Fourth, they are nice. Rarely have I gone to a nail salon of this caliber and been warmly welcomed. Here though I'm always greeted with a cheery smile and hello, and then they get down to business. I appreciate that. I don't need too much small talk. I'm only there to enjoy the process of someone making my nails look pretty. I could do without the TV, but it's not any more distracting than my phone.
