I absolutely adore the French Corner Cafe. When I was a little girl my mother and grandmother would bring me here for lunch and breakfast and then after we would choose petit dessert from the glass case in the front. Lots of wonderful memories. I still love this restaurant and come here with the kids when I can. Their quiches are to die for and I'm also a big fan of their Ratatouille and Nicoise Salad. We were here sometime in mid May. Now I don't proclaim to know French food. But we liked what we had and thought it was pretty tasty. The waitress and servers were very attentive and very helpful when it came row to the menu. We had the escargot for appetizers-if you love garlic, which I do you'll love this. It is very buttery so beware. For our main entree we had salad Montrachet and filet of sole. Filet of sole was very tender, light and buttery. The salad was okay. Oh my goodness, we might have found our new favorite breakfast restaurant of all the places we have breakfast'ed at on vacation. The chocolate croissants were unbelievably good (comparable to the best ones I ate while in Paris!) and the chocolate banana crepe was amazing...these were our highlights. The coffee was great and I loved my corned beef hash. This is a new must for any future trips to the area! read more

I live very close and enjoy having Breakfast here often. Have had dinner a few times as well, oh those Lamb Chops are divine. The owners are French and some of the staff members are French as well. I ordered take out for the following items: 2 French Onion Soup Steak Pommes Frites Seafood Crepe Croque Madame +Fried Egg On top (extra $.75 for sweet potato fries) All of the items tasted great, but the crepe was my favorite dish of the night. The steak was a little overcooked, so next time I would have ordered medium rare for a medium steak. For two people, this was plenty of food. The biggest problem I had for this take out was that the cashier forgot to give us utensils to eat. Me and my brother didn't eat breakfast or lunch, so we acted like barbarians for a little bit until we scrummage around to find forks, spoons, and knives. read more

If I could give it a no star I would. Very busy times during COVID make less than average service understandable, however, my first and only visit there was totally unacceptable. After waiting in line for 10 minutes to put what we thought was our name for a table, we learn that we just can sit down. We finally take a table that is open and after being served water by the bus girl waited over 30 minutes for a server. After flagging the busgirl she told the server who did not come to the table. Waited 10 more minutes and then spoke to the owner who was less than receiving, signaled to someone to go over to us. The server he sent was rude and did not make eye contact. We were very courteous in telling her that we had been waiting over 30 minutes, not implying anyones fault. The best way to sum up how she replied to us was 'it's busy, not enough staff so don't complain, it's basically tough s$*t, and if you don't like it, we don't care.' I replied that we understand that but maybe being courteous to just listen to what we said as far as the wait... she cut me off and said, "I'll give you a few more minutes." and walked away with her hand sweeping in the air. It was the most rude server experience I have experienced. We just got up and left. And I am certain neither she or the owner cared. Why should they? They have 6 other parties waiting to get in to get exceptionally bad service. read more

I have not physically been to this place, however, I just attended a baby shower, where they had macaroons and croissants from this restaurant, and they were DELICIOUS. The croissants are flakey, light and not too buttery. The macaroons are fresh, and full of flavor. Just Devine. Ordered the Steak Pomme Frites, was basically a strip steak and french fries. Friends have the fillet of sole and eggs benedict with two orders of french onion soup. Steak was cooked medium rare and did not have a nice crust. I thought it was very bland and flavorless. Friends were raving about the fillet of sole. Didn't hear anything about the eggs benedict so besides "I should have ordered the chicken and mushroom", I forget what the last part was, haha. They also enjoyed the french onion soup and the fruit bowl. Waitress was super nice and the place was clean, but I did not enjoy the food. It is like a quick trip to Paris, this quaint French Cafe' is quite the gem. We came here for Lunch with other today. It was fairly easy no time reservations for the time we walk in. The place is packed but it was fairly busy. Our waitresses were attentive. We ordered a quiches, seafood crepe and filet of sole are fantastic, Great food. Reasonable prices. This café is absolutely amazing. We are from San Diego and we have the worst time finding a place that everybody enjoys. This place fit the bill and exceeded expectations. My husband prefers a traditional breakfast, I prefer an exotic breakfast, and our boys are picky eaters. We were all blown away by the perfection of each entree. My husband got a traditional omelette with a side of potatoes. The potatoes had thyme on them and were cooked absolutely perfectly. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered a seafood omelette with scallops and shrimp. It had the most delicate and delicious sauce inside. Their pastries are unbelievable and the boys loved the cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls are different in that hey don't have the white sugary frosting the most do. I thought that the boys might be disappointed in that, but the flavor was so delicious and the pastry was so flaky they thought they were the best cinnamon rolls they had ever had. We went to mornings in a row to this restaurant and intended to go a third, but ended up heading home early. We feel like we might have to take a trip to Palm Springs just to go to this restaurant again. Delicious! read more

We chose the seafood crepe and a vegie burger. The vegie was well-prepared, but it is a ho-hum dish to start with, and was my husband's choice, which he enjoyed. My seafood was perfectly cooked, which is a rarity as most restaurants overcook seafood. The Morney sauce was fine. The crepe itself was heavier than most, but they pulled that off well, and the taste was robust, rather than pale. I have long loved seafood crepes, as a St. Jacques one from a former locale was my go-to dinner choice. Unfortunately, the French Corner's crepe was too bland for a 5*. The addition of mushrooms and green onions to theirs would have dramatically improved the flavor - and the visual appeal. The bus-gal, Rosa, was marvelous. The restaurant was busy, but she covered bussing tables, setting them up, seating people and giving them menus, while the waitresses were running elsewhere. They really needed one more serving person. The tables are crowded together, so essentially, one group is sitting right next to another. Perhaps that is necessity, for their demand was high people waiting for seating. There are a few booths, so get there at 8am, and you can probably grab one. We chose not to sample their desserts this time, as they were quite expensive, and mostly dark chocolate, and we had better choices that needed to be eaten, at home. read more

My boyfriend and I came back this weekend because, of course, I was dying for their macaroons. We walked in around 2 in the afternoon and found the place to be busy. Normally we come around 3:30 to 4 when it's usually down time for them. Their service was outstanding. Because we were just there for dessert, I had time to take in all the ambiance with the restaurant full of people. The wait staff was happy, there wasn't any busy bodies rushing all over the place. The atmosphere was great and incredibly relaxing. The customers seemed to be happy and enjoying their food. My strawberry macaroon was delicious. Cute corner cafe with homemade baked goods. Stopped for breakfast and had salmon Benedict. They have a variety of crepes but I was craving more carbs. Fresh ingredients and they squeeze the juice.
