Shrimp pasta

I am from out of town and staying with a friend. I found this restaurant today and had lunch and brought the friend back for dinner there. Absolutely amazing food, having lived by New Orleans for several years I was so excited. The food was on point and reminded me of my favorites from when I lived by New Orleans.

Seafood Crepes

A group of 4 of us came here to eat on a Saturday evening. We didn't have reservations and they were able to seat us right away. Our waiter was Philip and he did superb taking care of us throughout our meal. We had an order of fried green tomatoes as our appetizer. Then we ordered our main course. I got the seafood au gratin and it was delicious! Everyone was happy with their food choices and would visit again!

Seafood Stuffed Trout

Went here when I was Augusta craving a taste of home. I did not get that taste. I had the seafood stuffed trout. Overall very bland. The fish was cooked well, nice and crisp but just bland and so was the seafood stuffing. The best thing there was the house made honey something salad dressing. Ended buying a jar of that. But everything else was bland. No salt and certainly no creole or Cajun seasoning. I the service was good and quick and the place was chill. But food not good enough for me to go back.

Enjoyed dining with coworkers at The French Market Grille Augusta location for Mardi Gras on Fat Tuesday. If you want to experience a little piece of New Orleans locally this is the place to go! There was live music and everyone from the waiters to patrons were decked out in Mardi Gras attire and beads. I would highly recommend making reservations or getting there early. The food is always delicious and worth the wait.

Food is good and good service. Price is reasonable as well. Ordered crawfish popcorn, she crap soup and cajun benedict Crawfish popcorn is okay, kinda lots of flour making it hard to taste the crawfish flavor. She crap soup (bowl) is huge amount, if you like creamy then it's good. Light taste of sherry. I'd personally prefer the one at Abel Brown closed by, less creamy, more crab and more flavor of sherry. Cajun Benedict is delicious. The poached eggs are good, crab chops are made really tasty, kind of like hashbrown.

Stuffed Salmon and rice

My husband and I visited this place a few weeks ago and it was better than we anticipated. We got the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. They were crispy but they lacked flavor. We got the stuffed salmon and the blackened seafood pasta for our entrees and they were great. Both were well seasoned and fresh. The best thing about this place was the waiter. He was kind and attentive, even though he was the only waiter working and the place was pretty busy. This is a great place for a date night or just a nice dinner.

Lunch oysters $17+

Ambience. B Service. A Food. A Price. A Late lunch at 1:00...lots of parking in private lot, albeit, can get full as surrey center has lots of businesses. Not much as far as decor has changed in ambience in 40 years. They have extended out for more window seating areas that looks out into the parking lot. Host was quick in greeting and appeased me picking my own seat. Server was quick to greet and serve and take order. I've been here Ordered fried oysters. $17. Comes with drink and salad. Avocado dressing is creamy and light. Fried oysters fried crispy outside and some a little over fried chewy oyster bites inside and some were moist morsels, albeit quite small size portions. I got 7 small oysters for the r lunch plate with nice pilaf rice and housemade tarter sauce. I'm still a fan! Remind me to call periodically to see if they have soft shell crabs on the menu!!!

Frozen turtle pie with whipped cream and walnuts.

Great food. Great service. Local charm. An Augusta classic. We've been going there for 30 years.

Food is OK. Service is good. Ambiance is ok. We'd come back to try their other dishes. The hot bread is awesome.

The Annapolitan - Jumbo, Lump Crab Cakes

We finally got a chance to go to dinner as a couple. With two kids, sometimes this is impossible…read more So when we finally got the opportunity, we decided to try the Annapolitan. We sat outside and were pleased with the location. The location surely had its charms. Relaxing, calming. Perfect environment for some much needed respite. The restaurant is situated on a quaint quiet street, across from some beautiful Charlestown style homes. We both chose Ribeye steaks and boy was I surprised. They were huge! We BOTH got our steaks grilled perfect! I was extremely impressed. I jokingly told the waitress they mush have a boxer working in the back, tenderizing the meat because the steaks were so tender I rarely used the knife. The steaks was incredible, just the right amount of searing, juicy, seasoned just right, and so flavorful. And get this, we received our steaks at the same time, right off the grill so our dishes were both hot. It had been such a long time since I had enjoyed a meal this much. My reservation of going again has absolutely nothing to do with this restaurant. Cost of living is getting high and the cost of a great dinner like at the Annapolitan will cost you. But if you want something special, it is worth it.

Went there today 15 March for my birthday and was truly disappointed…read more The wait for the food was entirely too long, especially when there was only 4 other tables occupied. We arrived 10+ minutes before party of 5 and ordered our food before them and our food arrived at the same time as theirs along with the party of 3 that was there when we arrived. Needless to say my French toast was cold, I sent it back, they wanted to give me an order of French toast that clearly belonged to someone else, because it had caramel and apples and I ordered mine with strawberries. I said no thank you, I was good and didn't want any at all. Midway through my meal the guy brings out the French toast with strawberries, but the kicker is it wasn't freshly made but put in the microwave, because it was soggy. The strawberry compote tasted like it came out of a jar, and the French toast had one strawberry sliced in half on it. I gave 2 stars because the grits were decent and the crab cakes were okay, (to much mustard), they didn't have that Maryland style taste of Old Bay seasoning (I grew up in the area and frequent Lexington Market and restaurants, when I visit there, so I know the taste of good crab cakes). Sincerely very disappointed Mia

The pork belly was amazing and had a great crust. I could've had a large serving of pork belly for my main if they let me...;-) Steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Great sear on the outside and medium rare as ordered. Their take on Mac and cheese is unique and awesome. It looks like a lasagna serving and is pure creamy bliss. Make sure to order this side.

My friends and I love this place. Every time we come we wonder why don't more people know about it…read more It's a unique place in town that specializes in wine and bites to pair with all the various choices. I love the atmosphere as it's fancy enough for wine and cheese but not stuck up or snobbish as one may expect. The service here is always exceptional and the server is very attentive. For the wine I do enjoy a good white wine here, and I usually get a charcuterie board to go with it. One star off only because it's a little bit expensive and also you have to choose between ordering two cheeses and two meats or three and you can't order just one meat and one cheese. Or like single order the cheese and meats. If I drink I'm going to eat but sometimes I just want something small as my snack. Anyways wine is great here. They also do classes occasionally which I would love to attend one one day.

In addition to the glass of wine and charcuterie from Yelp, I ordered a red wine flight, and a pizza. The pizza came with apples in it, I'm open to trying new things, but I was a bit skeptical of the taste. When it came out, it was appealing to the eye and belly . It was soo good, my friend ordered another one. The flight, woo, took me OUT! I'm not much of a stinker, but I had to sit there for awhile to gain my composure. I'm happy that I wasn't driving. That night they had live music and he did a great job adding to the ambience of the restaurant. From the service I received, the food, and the wine, I would give them an A+. This place is definitely a gem.
