My first time to come here was on a whim, while in desperate need of a manicure. I called ahead of time and was informed their basic manicure started at just $12. I can paint my own nails, but need help when it comes to getting the cuticles, etc. Once I got there, I went with the basic manicure instead for $15 - that included a sugar scrub and massage. My nail tech, Katy, was great and did a fabulous job. I will definitely stop by next time for a mani/pedi, they have really great prices. It's a tiny shop, but has a homey feel. I was recommended this nail spot and I thought it was great. I was a walk-in and they got to me within five minutes. I was offered water and then got to choosing my color. One of the gentlemen technicians did my manicure (I forgot to ask his name). He was great! Fast, precise, careful, and asked me along the way if what he was doing was okay. He asked me after filing, buffing, cuticle treatment, when applying polish, and then again after. I had a shellac manicure for $30. Can't believe all the bad reviews!! been there twice and both times have been excellent. Don't come in a hurry, I get done shellac and pedicure and it takes about 1h 30 to finish. So glad I found this place!! The ladies here always do a great job! They constantly ask if you are ok. If you're getting a mani they constantly ask if your nails look ok and if you don't like the way something is done they want to fix it right away. The pedi is awesome as well! The place is under new management in the last month and has had some visually pleasing decor done. I waited about 5 mins past my appointment time. I sat in one of the blue spa massage chairs and was not offered or had the "new" brown (Zero gravity) massage chair offered to me. About 10 minutes into my pedicure, I was handed a laminated price list and asked to choose a treatment. I should have been offered that when I arrived (I actually wanted to try the Zero Gravity chair). My peidcure was ok. My pedicure technician was nice, however her English was not great and she could not understand some of what I wa saying. She filed too deep on my right foot toe nail beds and did not treat my cuticles properly (my feet were barely in water for a minute or so (it did not seem long enough for my toenail cuticles to soften to work with) and that became apparent when she was working on my toes. I got home and I still had dry a few rough and dry patches on my toes and feet. Although she did a great job on PAINTING my toes, I am upset because the reason I had a pedicure was to get rid of the rough and dry patches. I thought my acrylic full set of nails was acceptable. My cuticles were not treated/moisturized until the end with the buffing of my nails, so, it was uncomfortable while Linh was doing my nails (she nicked my thick cuticles and skin the the fasr elctrical filer she was using 4 times. Also, I missed 20 mins of my massage chair because Linh said she could not do my nails with the massage chair vibrating (so, If I was denied or had a service removed, "the massage" part of massage chair, then I should have been charged for a lesser package). Also, after leaving, I realized that Linh left the "gunk or acrylic stuff" on my hands and nails. I spent 30 minutes picking, scraping and sloughing off the dry and hardened mess around my nails and cuticles. *** A day later I thought I had gotten all the acrylic left on my hands and nails, I am still picking and chipping off this stuff. *** I will add photos to this review to support what is talked about in this review. Again, the place was clean, had a very nice decor, the staff was very nice (with the exception of speaking their language among each other). It is very rude and unprofessional to speak other languages in the public work place. The people were nice, but I probably won't go back. Disappointed read more

Went in for a dip powder and soak off by appointment. There was no soak off. My nails were wrapped in remover for 2-3 minutes then they used a Dremel bit (metal with spikes to shave off the polish almost through the nail. I could feel the heat on my nail bed. I did say something but she said it would be even worse if I chose shellac. The same nail bit (probably purchased from Home Depot) was used between each dip. the whole process was rough and rushed. One of my nail broke the next day because my actual nails were shaved so thin. The only upside was that my other 9 nails looked pretty and natural because they were so thin. read more

I used to be a regular here. They gave wonderful customer service and even a complimentary neck massage. Lynn took a lot of pride in her business. Wow, how things have changed. I came in for powder dip nails and the man working there used the drill bit on my natural nails 4 times! It burned and hurt, but I was afraid to say anything to not complain like a "Karen" since someone is providing a service for me. I wish I would have spoken up because it was bad. He didn't soak my nails in warm water - he clipped all my cuticles dry. One nail was bleeding. These nails didn't even last a week. 4 are chipped or coming off and the nail underneath is paper thin. In 20 years of getting my nails done, this was the worst, most painful and rough manicure of my life. I'm making a review so someone else doesn't go through this. If you do go, ask for Lynn and don't let the man do your nails. I do not believe he is professionally trained because it should not hurt like that. read more

I did not notice any recent reviews before my visit, so here's one now. Today was my 1st time here as a referral. I made an appt for a shellac manicure and a deluxe pedicure. The owner -Lihn talked me into dip powder and I agreed to try it. I was there alone with both the owner and 1 staff member for nearly an hour. A customer came in and had to wait for Lihn for maybe 15 minutes. She finished my nails and went to the next customer. She started her services and rushed into another room and came back with a glass of wine for her customer. As she handed her a glass of wine-she offered me a glass. She was there with me for over an hour and never offered me anything. She was aware that this was my 1st visit, she also knew that a client with 10 + years tenure with her referred me. That didn't matter, as much of the same never does. Yes -everything in this country continues to be colorism and classism. The minorities discriminate against other minorities. My nails look nice and my pedicure does as well, but I WILL NOT patronize any business that clearly let's me know that the white dollar is worth more than my green dollar. I was happy with the quality of my services until the end. I tipped them nicely for what was done, but this black woman can spend her green money anywhere. I'm a business woman and the value of the dollar does not decrease according to the race of who's holding it. That experience gave their rating below a 1. People like her will likely not ever learn that customers are not black or white, but GREEN, unless they offer a reason not to be serviced, but their race can not be the determining factor. I want to start out by saying that I have never gotten my nails done here. BUT... I have gotten my underarms waxed here, twice. The first time was awful. The tech that was doing the waxing burned my armpit/took off skin. I went to beauty school for a bit and one thing I learned was that you are not supposed to wax the same section of skin more than once. This lady waxed a large section about 4 times. I mentioned that it was going to take my skin off and she replied "no it won't, (the armpit area) is not sensitive skin" I was taken back because it's actually very sensitive. As a result of her I had a huge scab covering my right armpit. The second time i went was more my fault because I CHOSE to go back there. I really should have thought better of it but I desperately needed my armpits waxed and was in a serious time crunch and this place is the closest to my apt. This time, I went in and for some reason confirmed that the price was $15.. She said yes. After i laid down, she looked at my underarm and said "$20 for you" I was shocked and offended.. Never has any salon changed my price because of any variable. I tried to leave and they convinced me to stay.. A lady I'm guessing an apprentice came in with us that she did not ask about. Usually salons will make sure that is okay. I felt like the techs there were just bringing each other in to look at my under arms: several techs came in with the intent to look at my underarms, say something to each other, then leave the room. Went to this place for the first time last Friday morning! I was the first one there when they opened so I had Kim doing my shellac manicure and Anna doing my pedciure. They both were fantastic! At $25 for shellac and $25 for pedi I got beautiful nails, well massaged, neck, arms, shoulders, legs, and feet. In additon to that the pedi included a scrub, mask, and hot stone massage. I love the value of the mani/pedis here. For $35 you get a spa pedi complete with sugar scrub, paraffin, hot stone, and hot towel. You sit in their newly updated massage chairs and they top the experience off with a 5 min shoulder rub. I don't recommend artificial nails because they do use MMA and as you may know, that is hell on your nails. Although, if you don't care about that, they do a wonderful job of making french tips/solar nails look great. I have also had my eyebrows done here and I didn't like that experience because I really wanted threading and she insisted on wax despite that they do have threading on the menu. The girls are all very nice and try to have conversations with their clients and not just each other. I gave 4 stars because I really do like the mani/pedis and the value offered. I think they have been there for over 15 years, have lots of loyal customers. I've been going for about 2 years now. each time was pleasant. an older salon but they use sterile tools, it's neat and clean. they offer you water sometimes. they do get busy on the weekends or Friday evenings like any other salon so pack your patience, and remember you are not the only person who got off work at 5 to get their nails done for the weekend or going our of town :-) I always get a spa pedi which includes massage, parafin wax, exfoliation and hot stones for ONLY $25 bucks and a shellac which last 3 weeks that also include a massage for $25 bucks! can't beat that! I'd been going here for a year and really liked the experience. It's not your glamorous nail place (run by Vietnamese who speak mostly Vietnamese), but the people are friendly. For $20 you can get a pedicure that includes a great foot massage, legs bathed with sea salt, waxing of your feet, stone massage, etc. However, the last time I went, I think the lady cut my cuticle too deep, resulting in an infection and an antibiotic prescribed by my doctor. I think I got someone who was inexperienced, but aside from that, I've had good results there, with my paint job lasting a month. read more

One word: DIRTY!!!! The first time I came here I had a great experience, I walked in and the ladies were quick to attend me. I had noticed it was a little dirty but didnt pay much attention. I was just happy about the price... The second time I came back I had made an appointment for me and my friends and they didnt attend us until an hour later! So what is the point of making an appointment? Once the lady started doing my nails I realized she hadnt washed any of the equipment she had been using. I requested for the semi pointy nails and she made them all crooked, and pretty much destroyed my cuticles. Then she was coughing all over the place while she was working on me without covering her mouth. At this point I was getting annoyed with the whole situation, I had crooked nails and bloody fingers. This wasnt the end of the nightmare... My friend was next and the lady was rushing to leave so she made her pay BEFORE she even got the work done, ridiculous! The lady left her nails super thick and didnt even bother to ask what she wanted and just went ahead and painted her nails. My other friend had to literally fight with one of the ladies to borrow the nail dryer that wasn't even being used. Overall, it was 4 of us girls and none of us got the job done right. My nails took about 4 hours to dry (not exaggerating) and even after that some of the nail polish came off. So now I'm going to have to go somewhere else and pay extra to get this mess fixed. This was my first time at French Nail. I purchased the Shellac Mani and a Pedicure. I called asking when was the soonest they could get me in and they said 15mins. I arrived and was seated in a chair in 5 mins or so. I was very happy with the end result, my nails are flawless. I watched them go back and get the small imperfections before applying the paint. For the quality, the price is really good. Its no frills, nothing fancy, and it does take a little longer than most places. Shellac and spa pedi were about $50, which is a steal, usually some of the higher end places I go, it would be double that easily! The only thing I did not like was that when they were finished with my manicure water, they poured it right in my pedicure water, EW! (my feet were still in the water) They also use a scraper on your feet, which I really like, but you have to tell them to go easy. All in all a solid shellac and pedi, with a killer price! read more

Unfortunately, I am going to have to change my review. A small issue in the beginning with this place being so busy became a large annoyance that is compounded by the way that the staff handles delays. Being told to wait 10 minutes is fine if that is close to accurate, but when this happens with or without an appointment and multiple times per visit, I have begun to see that although they wanted to keep me from leaving there really was no concern towards my own day's plans or schedule. If I got excellent service with each visit I might have held out a bit more but with ok prices and ok results it wasn't enough anymore. I would rather try a new place out instead, than go somewhere that doesn't quite understand that time is valuable to them and to me. Too bad. read more
