Our host and his BIG Smile was very inviting and super nice. Our server was very attentive to us , super nice as well, and we never had to ask for a refill. The restaurant itself was clean and definitely gave you a sense of The French Quarter. The food was fantastic. The Shrimp and Grits were cook perfect and the Étouffée on dirty rice was really tasty. The ambiance was good. We went on a Saturday evening and there was a live musician there playing on a sax and he was so good. The restaurant is divided in half with really high walls as you enter, so you couldn't really see the live music from the right side of the restaurant where we were sitting. Food: We ordered fried mushrooms and fried pickles for appetizers for the eight of us. The mushrooms were delicious and I would definitely recommend these. The pickles were good, too, but on the salty side. They were sliced thinly and had a great crisp. The ranch dip that accompanied both dishes added a good flavor to it all. For our entrees, we ordered fish strips and chicken strips with fries for the kids, a catfish executioner (fried catfish with red beans and rice and cornbread, creole pasta with garlic toast, the large fried foods platter, crawfish etouffee, and a bowl of gumbo. The clams were on the smaller side, but good. All of the food tasted fresh and was good. The service however, ruined the overall experience. We entered the restaurant, which is divided in two by tall walls. There were tree tables aside from us. While we were there, at least five other tables were sat but no additional staff was assigned to our side. We had to flag down our waiter for drinks (which he did not bring completely out at one time. Kid drinks were delivered after asking twice and finally asking a completely different waiter as he was exiting the kitchen.) Wedge asked for lemons on three separqte occasions, which were never delivered. We had to call our waiter to order our main courses after waiting for him to come after appetizers were delivered. We had to ask for water refills twice before he came and had to do the same to get our bill, for boxes, and then to pay the bill. We did not stay to get our receipt cause who knew how long that would take? A table next to us sat down maybe 10 mins after we did. When we left, they were only ordering. They had an app but didn't even order their main dishes yet. They were very patient to have waited so long for no one to show up. I get being busy and it may have been his first time working but that's not all on him. No one else checked on the tables or to see if he needed help. We were nice each time we had to ask for something, but to have to do so for everything every single time was a bit much. read more

We came in to try the food. The ambiance is casual with a cajun feel. Half of our party had breakfast ( served all day) while I had the grilled shrimp. Our server David was spot on with fast service and refills. The food was excellent and fresh. The fried mushrooms and grilled shrimp with vegtables were especially good . The sweet tea was good and washed down the awesome red beans and rice . The Houston comminity should consider a great place for all meals in a day for great grub! read more

Second time leaving a review on this place. It was slow So I figured the food would be quick at 8:45 on a Saturday when they close at 10. I ordered boudin balls and again they didn't take out the casing when they cooked them but beef or that I had ordered those and gumbo for dinner. The gumbo came out first and I said I ordered the boudin for an app. The bartender seemed like she was ready to go and out of it. It took almost 10 minutes in an almost empty restaurant to get the boudin balls. The kicker us the casing was still in the balls which is a very unpleasant experience when eating them since they are gummy. Never coming here again read more

Been coming for decades. 1st time....My Cousin came into town the weekend of February 27th..... I was so excited to bring him to eat the best crawfish! Barbi and I love to French, we do it all the time. We sometimes French when we come to French Quarter. Okay, we only came twice so far and both times were with family and neither time did we French (or maybe I'm just forgetting). But we do like it. There are some things on the menu that I don't like, and then there's some that are amazing such as the rice with red beans and the spicy sausage. We're lucky that the people we go here with - mostly blood related to Barbi - let us try their food in return for some of ours, so I've tried plenty of things. But I do think that the portions are too small and the prices are a bit high which is the only reason I gave four instead of five stars. Plus I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to enjoying New Orleans food. If this were in New Orleans, I wouldn't give 4. By Houston standards, it's a 4 or 5. read more

When I called to explain the mishap, AJ there was very helpful, apologized, said "you're all good" and, I believed him. He did say I would need to speak to the Mgr, Diana. When Diana was on the phone, I explained the situation n how they are true frequent customers there. And I would say that they should replace Diana. Her lack of understanding and empathy was thoughtless. Well Diana, I checked with my family and they have come across your indignant behavior before. I came in for lunch today, complements of the owner (Avery) after having a negative experience with one of the staff. He, along with David (my server) provided the best experience I've ever had. Under new owner, we were disappointed in the taste of the food. Everything was under seasoned which means it all tasted very bland. The gumbo was too watery and blah, the cajun dishes were as boring. There was no salt n pepper or cajun seasonings on the table to try to spice things up. No crackers or butter were served with the appetizers and bread. Came in on a Saturday afternoon between the lunch and supper crowds. There was only one other family there, the rest of the tables were empty. So of course the "host," who looked like he just got out of Huntsville, put us in the booth adjacent to them. They all had their phones out watching videos on speaker with the volume turned up so they could hear over each other. There was an incident on the 14th with a person dressed inappropriately. This is a family restaurant that we love. This person decided to come inside with their breast & nipple exposed. The manager was absolutely correct in asking them politely to cover up. They refused. I would have insisted they leave. Let's start with when you walk in the music volume is abnormally quiet. We ended up sitting at the bar which is in the interior of the building with no windows. Sat at the bar and immediately noticed the music volume at an abnormally quiet level. We walked over to the host to see if they could turn the music since we could hear everyone's conversations. Very awkward vibe. Host provided us to speak to the bartender and they could raise the volume, so we asked and were informed the music level was the max level. The music was the most unique and we eat out ALL the time. It was 70s music. Interesting choice. While we didn't want to listen to that music, it was better than to hear everyone's conversation. Ordered steak and shrimp which came with vegetables and potatoes Felix. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and ordered these blackened. Steak was decent, cooked to the desired temp and vegetables were good. Overall, food was actually good but what made me take off so many stars was the library quiet vibes which made our experience uncomfortable. Raise the volume and pick another genre! read more

We both ordered the gumbo with hurricanes. Then I had the grilled shrimp napoleon on a bed of fettuccine with crawfish tails while my friend had the fried seafood. It was way too much food so we both took some home and got two meals out of it. The fettuccine with the sauce and crawfish tails was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient while the ambiance was calm, relaxed and happy. The only reason for four instead of five stars was the price at over $100 for two people. This eatery has been here for many years and I recently visited twice. It's located in a shopping center with plenty of parking available. My first visit was about a month ago for lunch. The hostess sat my party in one of the 3 dining areas inside at a table. I chose the creole pasta that comes with penne pasta, tomato sauce, mushrooms and shallots along with sausage, crawfish and blackened shrimp for $14.95. The meal also came with garlic bread and arrived in about 10 minutes after ordering. I noticed 3 shrimp in the dish and the portion size appeared on the small side however it was filling and tasty with very good flavor and slightly spicy. I gave the meal a 3.5. I also tried the bread pudding for dessert that came free with the Yelp check in and enjoyed it. Table service was attentive. A couple of weeks later I returned for dinner on the final night that indoor dining was allowed before the Covid 19 shutdown in Harris County. For this visit, I was solo and after being seated noticed that all of the tables were bare. No condiments, utensils, napkins, etc. The waitress explained to me this was done for sanitary reasons. I was impressed with their attention to this detail as you could tell that they were taking the virus seriously and looking out for their patrons safety. That night I ordered the shrimp po boy with fries for $11.95. Again the meal arrived about 10 minutes later and upon its arrival I immediately noticed how flat and thin the sandwich looked. I didn't like the appearance because it looked small but upon opening it up saw plenty of shrimp, dressed with lettuce and tomato along with thousand island dressing for the sauce. It was a good tasting po boy. The fries had a crusty exterior to them and were frozen out of a bag but they were hot and tasted ok. I gave this meal a 3.5 too. My table service was very good that night. I will round up to a 4 for Yelp purposes and return to this restaurant when indoor seating resumes. It's alright. We came here on Mother's Day and it was a bit of a mess. We had reservations so we're sat right away, order with in 10 minutes and food came out like 75-80 minutes after that. Food itself is pretty good. Service was also good and our waiter was friendly. But man, the place was not overly packed ( even on Mother's Day) and it took forever to get the food out. I get there are labor shortages across the country but that was a bit brutal. Given that it was Mother's Day a wait was expected, but not like that. Short review: Win-win for Mothers Day. Ambiance: We ventured out to fight the crowds during Mothers Day today at this location. Everywhere was going to be on the crowded side. But in spite of some of the rubbing elbows with another table of families, with everyone in good moods it felt very drama-free. No it wasn't going to be a quiet Sunday dinner with no one around and this location is on the cramped side because of its space. They have rearranged since the last time we were here (same holiday as before) and that helped a lot. Service: We had to add a last minute +2 over our original reservation number, but the staff were able to squeeze everyone in despite having a full dining room with waiting customers at the door. I recommend the reservations. Drinks were dispatched quickly and topped off often. The staff were at full steam getting everyone accommodated and was operating like a well oiled machine. If there was harried servers and staff, it was not noticeable. Nothing but sincere and professional smiles and accommodations from all. Food: I was weary of a buffet, but being the day it was, this was the only solution. Once we went through the service line though, I saw the selection (plenty to choose from, appetizers to dessert) and the quality, and was impressed. Nothing was being left to run low and the food prep staff was keeping the serving area neat and tidy. I tried a little bit of most of what was being served and was quite satisfied with the overall quality, variety, and availability. The number and variety of desserts was equally satisfying with something for most everyone (the key lime pie shooters were especially dangerously delicious and I'm glad the portions were small for that.) Despite the crowds and waiting customers, at no time were we rushed to finish or gather up and leave. We were able to enjoy our family time as if it were our own home. Let me just get right to it. The seafood gumbo is the bomb and that crawfish etouffee should be a damn sin it's so good. There was a bit of crab in every single bite of gumbo and I had so many shrimp I lost count. The etouffee was the perfect temp the entire time we were there and it was just piece after piece of crawfish. The actually soup in the etouffee was well seasoned as well as the gumbo and I can not wait to go back. I checked in on yelp...and they had the nerve to offer a free dessert! We chose the bread pudding that was sat in this rum sauce and...it was...just, everything. I never had bread pudding before this but best believe I'm a believer. The one thing I could have done without with the few pieces of crab shell I encountered in a couple bites of my gumbo but that just told me it was real crab meat. I can not wait to go back! They definitely deserve an updated review. So here it goes. I purchased a home in this area in 2016 so I have been visiting every few months since then. This is one of my favorite Happy Hour spots. I like the atmosphere of their best. Nice drink discounts and discounted small plate options but they also serve full menu. They frequently have crawfish deals like 2lbs/$10. I always get excellent service by the staff. They are helpful, will chat with you and allow you to sample a beer if you're on the fence. Their menus have changed over the years and I do miss the legendary fried shrimp or fried crawfish platter that came with etoufee and jambalaya... They seriously need to reconsider bringing that back. Sometimes they may or may not have crab fingers.... Just depends. Hubby and I dined in once for breakfast and it was outstanding yet affordable. Really loved the hashbrowns and how they cooked both of our eggs perfectly. Definitely a staple in Copperfield. Lots of Louisiana people come through here. I would have given 5 stars but my last visit I tried the crab cakes again even after my previous review and they are still pretty bad. The food was delicious!! The fried catfish was not slimy at all unlike other places. The catfish was nice and crispy on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. I just got the cup of seafood Gumbo and it was awful. Flavor was off, crab tasted like plastic.

We have been coming here for years. There had been a slip the last few years in quality of some of the dishes. We went again Saturday night. Restaurant was cleaner, we sat in bar area and it used to smell of smoke but this time air was clean. Don't know if they stopped smoking at the bar or got smoke eater put in but it was definitely an improvement. I was aware there was a new owner as I had inquired about stuffed flounder on the menu and he replied via email. Wife ordered catfish vermillion, I ordered redfish Louisiana and shrimp em brochette. Everything was cooked to perfection. Nothing burned or dry as we had encountered in the past. Ingredients and flavors seemed fresh. I also had a side Caesar's salad and it was crispy and cold, no wilted or brown lettuce. Didn't order crawfish this time around as they are still small but will next time.
