    Cajun fries
    Erin P.

I came here with 3 of my friends, two of whom were crawfish eating pros and helped us order. I got crawfish in garlic butter and Cajun fries. The crawfish were very very good and seasoned really well. One of my friends suggested dipping the fries in the juice from the crawfish at the bottom of the bucket and omg it was fantastic. I drove all the way from Spring to Cypress for this, but it was definitely worth it. I think that going for crawfish is such a fun experience since it takes a while, it's a good opportunity to catch up with friends more so than just getting dinner.

This place is pricy. However their seafood is full of delicious flavor. They have a lot of seating inside too. I still Love it here! Every time we go here we easily drop like 200. But we don't get to indulge often.

Boiled seafood and frozen adult beverage swirl is the best! I am a faithful hotspot special hot, crawfish, head on shrimp and snow crab advocate. You have to try this place during crayfish season. They're always busy, so go during the week on early in the day on the weekends.

This was the first time my family and I to visited Hotspot Cajun Seafood House. It took me a moment to see what they had to offer via their menu. My two kids chose the fried rice and I the Platter #2. I specifically advised that we would eat our orders in house; however, would like the rice orders to be placed within togo containers. We were seated and while waiting on our food; the two young ladies were engaged in a conversation for quite some time - that I had to ask the gentlemen could my daughter and I have a refill. I received my food however they put my children's order in late - which resulted in them waiting quite some time while I had been eating. I saw that their food had been done and was waiting on the counter. The same two young ladies were engaged in yet another conversation- which resulted in me having to ask for their food. I am completely frustrated by the lack of customer service. It is awful. Additionally, the gentleman ask the table behind me if they needed anything and/or if they were ready for two check and passed us by TWICE! We were not asked if we would like a refill or anything else for that matter. The food was lackluster for the cost and I will not recommend this place to my friends and/or colleagues.

I'm ready for the yummy mess that is about to happen. Lol

So, the service was amazing. We went on the day right after Thanksgiving so, there was absolutely nobody in restaurant eating. The fried calamari you could tell was fresh, but there was something missing. Maybe a dip or something it didn't have any seasoning on it, but it was still good. The gumbo was also really good. Overall I liked the place it was cool and nice to have found a place on this side of town since I'm over here more often.

Prices over "market value" Don't order the catfiish or chicken no way that is catfish . Fries were good. Crawfish was ehh and overpriced Gumbo comes with corn .. blah Overall if you're looking for Cajun food go somewhere else .

This place reminds me of the usual seafood joints in Houston. The food is pretty good and the restaurant gives off hipster vibes. The prices weren't that bad but you get what you pay for. I like how the restaurant has sofas and tv's at each table. The staff was "ok". They just seem like they wanted to hurry up and get off of work. I liked the fried fish and Cajun fries, but it taste like something I could have done myself. I also had a hurricane daiquiri and that was the best thing about the restaurant. I wouldn't willingly come here again, however I would go if I was invited. This place is good, but nothing special.

Raw oysters, cajun shrimp, buttered shrimp

We ordered the dozen raw oysters, a pound of Cajun shrimp, a pound of buttered shrimp, and a michelada. The raw oysters tasted fresh. Add in a bit of lime or lemon, then some cocktail sauce and horseradish.... The cajun seasoning was on point, definitely would recommend. The buttered shrimp was okay not as much flavor as the cajun seasoning which I guess is expected since it's highlighting the buttery taste but if you like butter I'm sure you'd like that too. The michelada was okay I've had better and they ran out of glass containers so we had to use a plastic cup. Overall we paid about 47$ without tip. The price, quality, and quantity of the food I think is worth it. We would go back. Side note: if there was a way to reduce some of the plastic use this place uses to help out the environment it would even be better.

I would recommend this place if you haven't tried it. I ordered the crawfish fried rice priced at $11.90 out the door. The flavor is very good, lots of vegetable, and good amount of crawfish. Everything looks and taste fresh. Would defiantly come back

Ask the Community - Hotspot Cajun Seafood House

Are they open for dine in?

Do they sell live crawfish? If so how much per lb?

It's a restaurant so the only sell cooked food. If you're looking for live crawfish a cheap price check Boyd's One Stop in Texas City, TX. They price range from $.99-$2.19/lb live. Plus they also sell cooked for about $4.77/lb.

I was told they charge extra for lemon pepper. I simply asked when they started charging for it because I've never been charged before. The employee responded that they have always charged for it. When I explained that I had never been charged in the past, she told me she had been working there a long time and had never seen me before. At that point, it felt like I was being called a liar. I made it clear that I had no problem paying the charge--I was only asking when the policy changed. The issue wasn't the cost; it was the way I was treated. As a longtime customer, I didn't appreciate being spoken to that way. Because of this experience, I won't be returning, and I'll be sharing my experience with the customers and friends I've referred there over the years. I have proof of some of my past purchases and visits.

We received the shrimp & crab relatively fast; perfect texture and flavor. Everything was juicy and easy to peel. Our server forgot our 4lb crawfish order probably because we had been talking flavors etc no biggie it was fixed quickly..... however after our crawfish was rush ordered it came out with dark red shells that were super hard. Generally this is from it being served right after its required boil cook time and NOT soaking for the additional 20-30 minutes needed to soften the shells and soak up the flavor. The crawfish were extremely difficult to peel and many stuck the inside of the shells another indication that it wasn't post soaked. I asked the server to ask the kitchen if our batch had been post soaked or straight from the boiler... he came back letting me know that they told him "well it's the end of the season and that's probably why they're OFF".... this response is utterly insane to me as we eat crawfish several times a week allllllll through the season and 3 places just in last 7 days and they were easy to peel and around the same size as these. It's not the servers fault at all; he offered to bring something else but my husband was already fighting his way through the bag and after the horrible excuse from the kitchen I'm just gonna stop somewhere else on the way home. I'm not ok with wasted food or money as crawfish is a waste when it's stuck in the shells. Please post soak your crawfish as it's such an easy fix. I wasn't too impressed the first time, and this visit certainly confirmed my initial thoughts. For La Lucha's Happy Hour, you get a choice between 2 types of oysters ($1.50 each). These were great - do this on a weekday before 6pm and you should be able to grab a table without a reservation. Barely even after we started eating the oysters, the waitress was already asking if we wanted to order more, instead of allowing us to just enjoy our food without interruptions. The menus they gave at our table were inconsistent and had different menu items. I had to ask for clarification if the redfish was on the menu since it wasn't on two of the three menus given to us. So, quality control was a miss. Rest of the menu... is limited. Everything was so greasy, from the fried chicken, the redfish, and shrimp tacos. * Red fish with pecans - 6/10. The fish did not taste like it was seasoned with salt. It was well cooked, not dry at all, but it lacked any sort of seasoning aside from the butter and pecans on top. * Shrimp Tacos - 4/10. I think I prefer Taco Bell over this one. The shell was greasy, not crisp (felt like it was stale), and I was confused with the combination of American Cheese and shrimp. They also added hot sauce or spicy salsa in the tacos - so a warning if you can't handle spice (not mentioned on the menu). * Half Fried Chicken - 5/10. The chicken was moist. Been here once before and it was quite dry, so I'm glad this was cooked well. You get 2 thighs, a wing, and a drumstick (4pc). Again, there was a lack of any seasoning on the chicken itself & the exterior. Sadly, the sauce that we picked was not the best either - oyster mayo. It would've been nice to try the others, but the half order came with one sauce. The seasonal jam that was available was the peach jam. It went well with the biscuits (half order comes with 2 biscuits, any extra is $1.50). For my people who get cold in restaurants, I would recommend bringing a light jacket since they turn the A/C up.
