What a wonderful little breakfast/lunch spot, a little bit off Duval. Seating in front, main room, and a back area breaks up any kind of noise and makes this feel very intimate. We ate in the main room and particularly enjoyed the comraderie of the staff in action. Small menu but perfect choices that we wanted to try. During our trip to Key West, my husband and I with our baby girl went here for breakfast. My husband ordered the French toast and I ordered the waffle. My husband choice was the best one! My waffle was just ok, nothing more of a normal waffle I can do by myself. The French toast, instead, was delicious. The service was ok, not very welcoming. We didn't try other plates even though they have also salt choices. They have a backyard where we had breakfast because it was already full inside when we arrived early in the morning. read more

Why is it that you always find your favorite eats on the last day of your trip!? My husband and I really enjoyed Frenchie's. We got there around opening, before metered street parking takes place, and parked right out front. We grabbed a table inside to beat the humidity. I ordered the croissant sandwich and it was absolutely stuffed with eggs, bacon and cheese. All of that filling inside of a buttery croissant just melted in my mouth! Did I mention it was a big heft sandwich? I was full nearly the rest of the day. I ordered a macaron to go and it was delicious! All in all.. a perfect pre-flight meal. I would definitely recommend. Small cozy spot on a leafy side street with great food and casual chill vibe; we noticed quite a few local customers/regulars, always a good sign. While Frenchies is famous for breakfast, we generally arrived later for lunch when it was quieter. Note that they close at 3:00PM (and start cleaning up at 2:30PM, so don't be late :). Frenchies' lunch salads are extremely generous and delicious. Especially loved the Atlantique salad that came with smoked salmon, anchovies, hard boiled egg and topped with warm fresh dijon potato salad. I was so full after eating it that I skipped dinner (and I'm a glutton so that's quite a statement!). Warm goat cheese salad was yummers too. Hubbie said his turkey club sandwich was delicious and accompanying fries were outstanding. Service was friendly enough and we enjoyed watching the "house dog" take his siesta nearby. read more

Such a quaint little spot away from the crowds in Old Town. The staff are so pleasant, authentic, and accommodating. The coffee tasted like it was being served under the Eiffel Tower, rich and smooth. The quiche was seasoned perfectly and the salmon and spinach omelette was filling and delicious. Walked into Frenchies just now for an iced coffee. Upon entrance, a girl with brown hair around 30 said "here or takeout?" No good morning, no welcome in, no smile.... I said "to go please." "Someone will be with you in a minute." I heard what sounded like a distinctively Slavic accent and said "where are you from?" because I am Polish and speak Russian. Her response: "someone will be WITH you in a MINUTE!" So much for friendly service. When she was ready to take my order, I said iced coffee with sugar free vanilla and almond milk. Once she had made it and told me the price, I handed her my credit card and she flatly said "cash only unless it's over $15." Zero warmth to this person whatsoever. I ordered two croissants to get over the cost threshold, paid with my cc and left. Ten feet out the door, I realized the coffee was black and went back. What I took to be the manager added almond milk without a word, and I left. Rude, unfriendly, got my order wrong. Way to hit the trifecta. read more

I advise against supporting an unprofessional business like this one. The experience at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. After being excited to try this place and spending lots of time on finding parking, we headed over here. We had breakfast from elsewhere on hand but we really hoped to try this restaurant's French toast and waffle. We found out it contained rum so we had to settle for purchasing coffees and a pastry instead. Extremely hungry, we got our order from this restaurant and decided to eat our food from the other restaurant at the same time when the woman at the front rudely interrogated us. We calmly explained our situation, hoping to be able to quickly finish our food and leave when she stormed off and 5 mins later an angry manager walked over to humiliate us in front of everyone. There is always a way to handle unexpected situations as a business owner, and to show zero empathy and courtesy towards your customers shows your morals and value for them. We felt so degraded after paying for 1.5 hour parking fees which went to waste and seeing how rudely the manager and woman at the front treated us and created a scene in front of their entire staff and customers, we made an exit as quickly as we could. There seem to be several other nice places in town so I would opt for those in the future-- hopefully they're not as unprofessional and condescending as this staff. read more

This was such a fantastic experience! The French toast was out of this world! Very sweet so we also ordered a regular breakfast with potatoes and eggs with ham and shared each. It was perfect! They even have the most adorable dog that rests at the front of the restaurant minding her own business but makes the most beautiful eye contact! This is a definite YES! Mya daughter and I had the avocado toast. The avocado was a prepackaged/premade avocado that was gross and bitter. It was $14.50 so you'd think they would use fresh real avocado. It was topped with sliced tomato. Nothing was seasoned and had almost no flavor except the bitterness of the preserved avocado. We also tried a macron and it also was not very good.
