    Vegan pizza
    Clare M.

Back again and wow am I pleased I got the vegan veggie pizza Detroit style! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. also huge. Got this for 2 people and we both had lunch the next day. The mushrooms on the veggie pizza are so perfect. Ordered online and was done quickly for pickup. I wish they had a vegan protein though. I added some impossible meatballs I had in the freezer. A great addition

First time trying this pizza joint and it was decent. We made our on pizza. Got a large pizza and after few toppings it was closed to $42. The pizza lacked sauce but had good flavor. I will admit the portobello mushrooms were so good. Would have loved just pizza with that. We got a small salad and it was mid. Service was slow but they gave us free fountain drinks while we waited. The ambiance was casual. Near college campus so popular among students.

The Gluten free pizza here is so delicious you have to trust me. I have been on a gluten free diet for 6 years and I have painfully swallowed my sadness when any of my friends have had gluten. I thought there was no hope for me to try delicious pizza again until I found this restaurant. Servers are lovely but seriously if you want gluten free pizza you have to try this restaurant.

Service was amazing. I think the blonde woman at the front's name was Taylor. Very sweet and understanding. For $25 I did the Sonoran restaurant week menu. I chose, garlic knots, spaghetti and meatballs and tiramisu. I came with a friend who got Cesar salad as the starter, Alfredo and cheesecake. The deal came with a glass of wine! I chose white and my friend red. Both were decent. Olive Garden has more flavor than this. There was zero detectable spice or seasoning in the spaghetti sauce which tastes identical to the marinara that came with the knots. BLAND! Meatball also bland and too much breading. You can see in the picture there are no seasonings in the sauce. I switched out the spaghetti for Alfredo and it was also bland. Dumping salt and Parmesan did not help at ALL. The chicken ($3.50 up charge) was oddly gamey and also had no flavor. Garlic knots terrible. Also very bland and doughy. Could not taste anything but bread and a hint of butter. Tiramisu was an abomination. They have done their own rendition and instead of lady fingers have replaced it with a dense heavy cake. It was very very boozy. Mascarpone wasn't light and airy, it was thick and dense like cheese cake. There are much much better offerings for Sonoran restaurant week and I would not come back. The food is bland and extremely light on any flavor besides tomatoes and undercooked pasta.

I placed an order for carry out and it was done well within the quoted time. Everything was packaged up with a lot of care which is appreciated. I was disappointed to see how small the Caesar salad was for $9. However the homemade dressing and croutons definitely elevated the salad. I also got the meatballs ricotta and that dish blew my mind. It's easily one of my new favorite Italian dishes in town. I think the ricotta is homemade, it's so creamy, and the meatballs and sauce are packed with flavor. I loved every bite. I'll be back for that dish for sure.

Stopped by Fresco Pizzeria and had a great experience! Mileenha was super friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. I ordered a personal pizza with pepperoni and black olives -- it was cooked to perfection with plenty of toppings and great flavor in every bite. I also really appreciated being sent a birthday discount email -- such a nice touch that made the visit even better. Overall, great service, tasty pizza, and a spot I'd definitely come back to!

Best pizza in southern AZ! Great delivery with pizza still hot! Add their Caesar salad with jerk chicken! Great meal. Then I add a lovely Margarita! Perfect

Stopped in for a weeknight dinner- place was quiet and a few groups were dining. I had a gluten free pizza and glass of red blend, while my dining companion had a pepperoni Stromboli and lager. It's a casual place where you order at the counter and seat yourselves. Food didn't take too long to arrive, and it was piping hot and gorgeous. Very flavorful- took half my pizza home for tomorrow and I'm looking forward to those leftovers.

    Very Veggie Pizza Garlic Bread

Oooo this place is dangerously good it'll be hard for me to not get a pizza every week. Plus many vegan options!! I got the vegan veggie pizza 12" and vegan garlic bread. The marina that came with the bread was some of the best I had I had to dip my pizza in it haha and the bread was crispy but not too hard. The pizza was soft and thick (I'm not a thin crust fan so I loved this), and lots of veggies. Everything was $32 pre tip but the pizza was very filling because of the thick dough so this last me almost 3 meals. The only thing I wished was different was the vegan cheese having more flavor (I've eaten a lot of MOD pizza just because I like the dairy free cheese flavor) but that really wasn't an issue I just sprinkled some nutritional yeast on it when I got home and it was perfect. The place was very clean and had good music. We had a group of around 8 and came a little close to closing time without realizing it but the server was very nice about it and the food still came out quick and well done.

God level pizza slice topped with anchovies, red onion and portobello mushrooms!

As a native New Yorker and Brooklynite, that has easily eaten his weight in pizza, Fresco Pizzaria served up The Finest Ive ever had. The crust had a thin crisp shell, and an almost impossibly weightless body that every pizza maker strives for. We ordered toppings of anchovie, red onion and mushrooms. They're using spoon sized cubes of portobello to retain the natural flavor and cooked to perfection. Service was 2nd to none. Perfect ambience. If I could give this place six stars I would. Bon apetit!

Chicken Marsala missing mushrooms and flavor.
    William D.

The chicken marsala can be really good... when it's made correctly. I've ordered it for takeout many times and there's about a 50/50 chance of the mushrooms being left out of the dish. Last night's order was missing the mushrooms and the marsala sauce was way different from how it usually is. The sauce was really light and just didn't have that delicious marsala flavor. Feels like a ripoff for $22. For the chicken, it seems like they use bromelain or some other meat tenderizer on it. It's good when the food is fresh, but things start to get weird if you have leftovers.

Stopped by for a quick lunch after a movie at the Loft theater. Pretty casual place with fresh pasta and pizza dishes. You order at the counter before grabbing a table. All of the staff was very nice and service was fast. Some of the pasta is made in house. I ordered a 1/2 portion house salad. It's an enormous dish with fresh salad; I got it with ranch dressing which was served on the side. Just amazing. Beef cannelloni is so delicious. The sauce is just perfect flavor, baked with a perfect amount of cheese on top. Their roasted veggies are absolutely delicious. I don't know how I never knew about this place. The server said they have been open for about 10 years. Will definitely go back to try their pizza

    White pizza
    Nancy F.

I've been to Fresco a couple of times before and the pizza was ok. Some friends wanted to eat there tonight and the pizza was fantastic. I ordered the white pizza and the toppings were artichoke, roasted garlic , prosciutto and lots of cheese. The crust was crisp and soft with plenty of toppings. Service was great and they checked on us several times. It was busy for Sunday night. It was so good I went back the next day and ordered to sane pizza to go.

Very well balanced, a lot of effort went into it. We had 30 min wait in small upstairs area for our table on a Thursday night. They don't have much waiting area, most nights you have to wait outside. It was over a 100 after the sun went down, so I'm glad there was room available. Ordered the vodka chicken Parmesan and the burrata. They were both amazing. The pasta that came with the chicken Parmesan was super tender light, tasted fresh. Their pasta is all handmade daily. All the ingredients were simple and fresh for the burrata. The pesto was chunky and gave a good texture contrast. The tomatoes were very flavorful, olive oil and balsamic were all high quality. Very flavorful dish. I liked that you could order a half order. We wanted to try it, with two entrees a full order would have been too much. I would definitely return for both. Tried the pepperoni, sausage and jalapeño pizza and it was good as well. It's very toasty and dark on the crust, made in a a very high temperature pizza oven. We had some leftover pizza to take home. I was definitely more impressed with their pasta, good handmade pasta at an affordable price is hard to find. Would definitely go back if we are ever in the area and try other items. My sister ordered a salad and she had to modify some things due to her auto immune condition. It got screwed up, but the server was so apologetic and they fixed it. It wasn't the end of the world to us. She kinda deals with this all the time since her diet is super restrictive. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, checking in with us. Make it feel worthwhile. The service is a joke, sometimes someone will greet you, sometimes maybe not. It used to be you could walk into a place, even 15 minutes before they closed, and order food. Not so much with this place( and it's a pizza place ?!!?)-which is odd because you'd think they want money. I digress. I've gone in, in the past, half hour before closed, and been told they were out of dough! Pizza place out of the main ingredient. Obviously bad meal prep, planning, mgmt, -however you want to plate it. -Now-, there's an ordering system online to , idk, 'help things be orderly ' , maybe. We were seated right away since it wasn't busy, and things started off simple enough with bread and oil. We asked for parmesan to go with it, and our server seemed unsure how to respond, eventually bringing out packet parm even though fresh was clearly available. Not a huge deal, but we found it odd. A little later, we asked for more bread. The server told us they were out but, "that they could probably make more". . He relayed it to the woman handling bread, who then made more for another table and skipped us entirely. He mentioned it again to her when he saw us looking in their direction. she looked over, and still nothing. It was awkward, since the restaurant is the size of a closet. Once the pizza came, we got up ourselves to ask for more oil and parmesan, since our waiter hadn't come to check back. We got the oil instantly since we brought us the bowl, but no parmesan. At one point my son asked for bread, again, finally it came and the server literally tossed it on the table without a word. We said thank you and he completely ignored all of us. It didn't get any better from there. The bill was dropped on the table without a word either. My husband and I kept looking at each other with confused looks. We turned the bill in with our CC, and once the server returned it, same thing, not a single interaction. We also watched the same server make another table feel like an inconvenience over something as simple as asking for a bottle of Coke instead of a can. The customer ended up backing down just to avoid the hassle. The server then told the guest, "it's fine, I can get it for you!" On top of that, staff were wearing gloves while handling food, but also touching chairs, phones, and other surfaces; kind of defeats the purpose I think? My boys also had a weird interaction with a staff near the bathrooms who was very rude to them and accused them of cutting the line, despite no one waiting. It was very strange. Bottom line: the food is incredible, no question. But the service was so bad it's hard to ignore. Best advice, get it to go and skip the experience inside.

It's a smaller restaurant, but it's beautiful inside and has such a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The music was lovely, and the whole place had a really nice vibe. We ordered the Margherita pizza, Bianca pizza, Gnocchi, Piastra zucchini noodles, two sodas, and a Prosecco. Everything we tried was so good! The pizza crust was one of my favorite parts. It was cooked perfectly and had that nice little crunch without being too hard. The Margherita was delicious, and the Bianca was just as good. The Piastra zucchini noodles with house-made pesto, heirloom cherry tomatoes and spinach were AMAZING! I'm honestly still thinking about them. The Gnocchi with shiitake mushrooms, vegetable broth and ginger glaze was also delicious and something a little different. We started with the ABG salad that surprised me because I'm usually not a big fan of Gorgonzola, but the combination of green apple, pecan brittle, and cheese worked really well together and made for a great balance of flavors. For the pizza, we ordered the mushroom pizza and added pepperoni. The sauce was excellent I believe was some sort of a garlic/oil white sauce the mushroom portion was generous which I absolutely love, and the crust was exactly what I look for crunchy on the outside while still soft and slightly sweet inside. My only minor complaint with the toppings is that the $4 pepperoni add on felt a bit light, we only had a 2 or 3 slices per piece. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that our pizza was just slightly overcooked. The bottom was charred all the way around; wasn't burnt to the point of sending it back, but definitely left in the oven a minute or two longer than it needed to be. It wasn't busy when we visited, and it seemed like the employee rotating pizzas was a little more focused on chatting with FOH coworkers than keeping an eye on the oven. I've worked in pizza restaurants for nearly a decade, so I may be a bit more particular than most customers. Realistically, if our pizza had come out even a minute earlier, it would have been a 10/10 meal. That said, I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back. The quality is there, and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future.

The pasta was outstanding with intriguingly long and wavy noodles in a deliciously meaty marinara sauce. Their thin crust pizza was very good too, with "mini-cupped" pepperoni. The pickled peppers weren't noticeable though and had us yearning for the meatball ricotta pizza instead. We chose the coffee gelato for dessert. My GF/DF pizza did not hit the same notes. The crust was dense and gummy. The overall pizza was pretty bland. I ordered the marinara pizza with garlic and mushrooms. It's the kind of place that works perfectly for date night, a special occasion, or even just treating yourself to a really good meal. The hospitality really stood out to me. Everyone was welcoming and made the entire experience feel comfortable and thoughtful. And the food was easily the highlight. Everything we tried was packed with flavor and tasted fresh. I also really appreciated having options for different lifestyles. If you're looking for something lower carb, definitely check out the zoodle dishes. They still had so much flavor and didn't feel like you were missing out on anything. My personal favorite was the pesto ravioli. The pesto was so flavorful and it's absolutely something I would order again. If you're in Tucson and looking for a cozy spot with great hospitality, an intimate atmosphere, and genuinely delicious food, Renée's is definitely worth checking out. Perfect for your next date night or a treat yourself evening. I'm already looking forward to going back!

We arrived at Renee's with our boys on a 90+ degree Arizona day, hot, hungry, and excited to celebrate them after their first flag football game. Instead of sitting down to enjoy a meal, we were told that families with children are only allowed to dine on the patio. Meanwhile, the air-conditioned dining room was completely empty. Not "almost full." Empty. I understand that businesses are allowed to have their own policies, but expecting families with young children to sit outside in 90+ degree heat while an empty, air-conditioned dining room sits right there is certainly a choice. And not a particularly welcoming one. Apparently, celebrating your kids after their first flag football game meant sweating through dinner on the patio while an entire empty dining room sat comfortably indoors. With the temperature over 90 degrees, that was not a reasonable option for our family. Needless to say, we left. Tucson has plenty of wonderful restaurants where families can celebrate, cool off, and enjoy a meal indoors without being limited to the patio simply because they brought their children. So no, I can't tell you whether the pizza is good. We never got that far. I can tell you the hospitality left a bad enough taste that we won't be back to find out
