Yum. I had been to Fresco a few times for pizza and was definitely satisfied (all take away - I've never eaten in). I was craving some fettuccine alfredo and it looked decent online. We ordered that and spaghetti with meatballs. Both were really good overall! Served with your choice of garlic bread or veggies and we got garlic bread, which was also yummy. The fettuccine was perfect, no complaints. The spaghetti and meatballs the sauce didn't really stick to the noodles so I was eating a mouthful of noodles and then a mouthful of sauce. If you look at the price and think "that's a little much," know that the portions are HUGE. We both saved our leftovers for lunch the next day. And it tasted great reheated, too. We consistently have had good meals at this restaurant. Tonight was no exception. The pizza toppings are always generous, fresh, and not overcooked so you can actually taste each ingredient. We shared a salad that is also generous in size with crispy ingredients and a yummy house dressing. Although we usually do takeout, I have dined in and service is always efficient and friendly. No. They were one of the better places in town, but no more. Not even close to average. We paid $24 (a complete waste of time and money) for a 12-inch pizza. It was supposed to be a customized Bianca (mozzarella, no marinara) with: EXTRA garlic, olive oil, basil, and mushrooms. Simple, right? W R O N G. What we got: mozzarella, a few mushrooms, and unnoticeable basil, visually and in taste. No olive oil, just cheese on top of pizza dough. One can taste both basil and garlic in a pizza, or not. This clearly was NOT for both. Someone who is deathly allergic to garlic could've eaten this pizza with absolutely no use of an epi-pen or a trip to a local ER. My hubby ordered at the counter to go. I'm unsure if the royal screw-up was thanks to the person at the register who was beyond clueless or the cook, but I'm thinking the buck stops with the cashier. She did not give him a receipt, wasn't wearing a mask, and when he noted the problems with the pizza, she proceeded to breathe on the pizza (REALLY???) and wave her ungloved finger way too close to point out that no, there's no red sauce. Bonus! Two containers of parmesan and a packet of Luigi's red peppers were thrown INTO the box with the pizza. I don't even want to fathom how many people touched those items which ended up pressed against our food. Here's a comparison on the price-point. A White 20" pizza with 8 slices at Manero's on Mulberry in Little Italy (Manhattan), made with fior di latte is the same price. A larger pie made in M A N H A T T A N. Fior di latte! Lastly, we only went here because (a) Fresco was previously fine and (b) our beloved Pizza Luna is temporarily shut down due to compliance with vaccination requirements. Also, they kindly regard both their staff and customers by masking up. I'd recommend that you pay Pizza Luna a visit once they're back as Fresco is just a Fiasco. read more

Fresco used to be the place we ordered calzones from. Now it's not. Ordered three calzones for a family treat and sat down to eat. The deli paper was stuck to the top of the calzone because the cheese grease pooled on top. The calzones were supposed to be four cheese but there wasn't any ricotta to be found. The typically sliced mushrooms were halves of crimini mushrooms leaving awkward chunks in the filling with a few slices of pepperoni stuck to the bottom of the crust. For the cost of the calzones, I expect a better meal. I'm so disappointed that they altered the recipe-I am saddened I won't be ordering calzones from here anymore. If they touch the sun dried tomato vinaigrette-I'm done. read more

The totally topped is exactly what it says totally topped, had to eat it with a fork and knife because there was so much going on. The pesto strips were so tasty, basically a spruced up garlic bread but with pesto and cheese melted on top. Would definitely recommend those to anyone. The caprese was super fresh and plated beautifully. The service was incredible they joked with us, checked on us, and made sure the food was good. I am sadly writing this review, I really tried to like the food from Fresco but after trying them 3-4 times I find for me it really misses the mark. Coming from NY it's hard to match the pizza and Italian dishes from there. I did not care for their pizza or sauce. The calzone was good and the large was hugh. The service is great. I am disappointed that when I got a reward from points I obtained on orders it has to be used in a month, it should just remain on your account. For me I also thought the pricing is a bit high, especially on appetizers and salads. I doubt I will try them again. read more

My wife and I stopped by for lunch prior to a movie at the Loft. We split a half order of the garlic bread with pesto and mozzarella, with a side of marinara, and a ten inch pepperoni pizza. About the garlic bread. Nothing inspires more confidence than watching someone stuff leaf after leaf of basil into a blender. It did not disappoint. The pesto was NOT a thin green smear, but a bold thick layer between a base of garlic bread, and a thick blanket of cheese. Delicious. (Only ate half, the rest is for dinner.) The pizza was quite flavorful, but what took it to a higher tier was the unused marinara sauce. I added it to the pizza with a knife. It really did it for me. This is a restaurant that has been in a midtown location for more than 20 years, just with different owners. Warning - the menu is a bit overwhelming because everything sounds good. After we ordered, got our wine, and sat, I started second guessing our choices (meaning I had food envy - why didn't I order a starter or another pasta dish?). Oh, but we were so right in what we ordered. It took some time, but we had wine, and the family ambiance is pleasant. Then our food arrived. Now, lasagna never looks truly spectacular, but this dish was swimming in a flavorful and slightly spiced homemade marinara. Then you cut into it, and you encounter ample clouds of housemade ricotta. And the noodles are not super thick, but instead delicate pasta that brings the entire dish together. Split meatballs are dotted throughout, so they are like little presents. Oh, and huge pieces of garlic bread to sop up that yummy sauce. Yeah, pretty awesome. But then there was the pizza! We got a small (good move!), and the crust was perfectly fired. Heavenly meats sit atop a delightful marinara, and the cheese lends the creaminess to cut through the spice. The staff is professional and able to deal with a busy lobby and dining room. We ordered the topped pizza, Buffalo wings and garlic bread. The pizza was incredibly fresh and delicious! I was shocked by how fresh everything tasted! Sauce was flavorful and the cheese was thick and savory. The garlic bread was delicious as well. Crunchy, but soft and garlicky in the middle. I had to take off one star because the wings were pretty pricey and could have used a LOT more flavor. With wings that size you definitely have to season and then sauce. This was one Italian place I was not impressed with and it is sad because I am normally not picky on American-Italian food. Service itself was fine - the servers were nice, they had a nice condiment bar that had a decent selection of Parmesan, Oregano, Granulated Garlic, etc. They have an OK wine and beer menu that will satisfy most pallets. No on the the food, which is the main reason why I was not impressed. We started with a Caprese Salad that was dressed with Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil only. It is depressing to think that people do not understand the necessity of seasoning the tomatoes in these salads. It made the entire dish very bland. The Cheesystix had a decent pull to the cheese and the bread was cooked well, but the dough seemed as though they put no salt in it. My boyfriend found the boneless chicken wings to be more like frozen chicken tenders. To think these were only the appetizers. I ordered the Alfredo Florentine for my entree - again no seasoning.
