I came here to have dinner with my family and once everyone arrived we were seated. We waited for some time before our waitress came and there were long waits between the appetizers and the main course. Eventually my sister asked if there was a staffing issue due to the very long wait. Our waitress who was nice enough apologized and confirmed that there is a staffing shortage and excused the wait. We noticed that other tables seems to be suffering like we were with waiting. The food finally arrived, and it was a mixed bag, some of us like their meals and others thought at best it was just okay. I however had the worst meal I ordered the linguine with white clam sauce. My dish arrived and it was brown the butter was clearly burn and instead of retiring the dish they chose to serve a burnt dish. Unfortunately I ended up eating it because I didn't want to wait even longer for a replacement and I was starving. I did bring the burn dish to the attention of the waitress and she apologized but to me things were too far gone and I have no interest in returning. read more

We went here with a large group of people and had a private room. The service and food was excellent. Fred was our waiter and he had help from the rest of the staff when serving us. Our table started with the mixed appetizers. I lost count of all that was served to us but everyone enjoyed the calamari, shrimp, eggplant rollatini, stuffed clams and mussels and a few other appetizers. I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo for my main dish and my wife had an evening special of Scallop Risotto. Our table had numberous deserts also. It is a BYOB facility so we had plenty of wine. Great service ... wasn't too loud so we could hear the same inside jokes we've been telling for 30 years. Pork Chops at these 2 restaurants are A+. Our family recently celebrated my father's 85th birthday at Fresco Steak & Seafood, and the party could not have been more perfect. We hosted about 75 family members and friends, and from the moment we began planning until the final dessert was served, everything exceeded our expectations. The party started with an incredible array of appetizers -- shrimp arribiata, calamari, crab cakes, fresh mozzarella with roasted red peppers and vine-ripe tomatoes, fried shoestring zucchini, and stuffed mushrooms. Every dish arrived hot, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious. Guests were raving before we had even reached the main course. After a fresh and flavorful salad course, guests chose from six entrée options: stuffed bronzino, sirloin, veal francaise, shrimp scampi, penne a la vodka, and chicken parmigiana. The stuffed bronzino was the clear standout -- the compliments were immediate and enthusiastic. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the crab and lobster stuffing was simply extraordinary. The sirloin was a very close second, with many guests commenting on how incredibly tender it was. In truth, everyone was thrilled with their meals. Dessert followed with three choices, and the only reason anything was left on a plate was because everyone had already enjoyed so much wonderful food. The service was exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. It often felt like they knew what we needed before we even had to ask. The attention to detail made our large celebration feel effortless and seamless. The beautifully renovated dining room provided the perfect setting. The design is elegant and modern, with tasteful finishes that create a warm and celebratory atmosphere. A very special thank you goes to Debbie, the hostess, who helped guide us through the entire planning process. She was organized, responsive, and truly invested in making sure our celebration was exactly what we hoped it would be. On the day of the event she was attentive to every detail and made us feel completely taken care of. And finally, Loucas, the owner and chef, embodies everything that makes Fresco so special. Not only is the food exceptional, but his pride in his restaurant and care for his guests is obvious. He came out several times throughout the party to make sure everything was perfect -- a gesture that meant a great deal to our family. While this review reflects a large family celebration, it's far from our first visit. Our company has held its Christmas party at Fresco every year, and it has long been our favorite place to celebrate special occasions. After this unforgettable evening celebrating my father's milestone birthday, we've decided Fresco will also be our go-to place even for an ordinary weeknight -- because when a restaurant is this special, every visit feels like a celebration. Came here with my family and a family friend. We had made a reservation and were quickly seated when we arrived. The restaurant was clean and well-lit (I say this because sometimes it's hard to read the menus when places are dimly lit). Let me preface: one of the guests was a picky eater & yet even she enjoyed eating here! It's definitely pricey, but a nice experience overall. Appetizer: Hot antipasto for two - SO TASTY! The stuffed mushrooms melted in your mouth like butter & was my favorite. I was surprised to really like the eggplant as well. The zucchini fries were crispy. Entree: I got the crab stuffed brazini with Brussel sprouts and it was absolutely delicious. Others got salmon as well and said it was tasty too. Dessert: Tiramisu - WOW! Visited 06/02/2024 Came here for a family anniversary party... 16 of us. Adelina (?) was (IS) a fantastic server... very friendly and open to too many questions. Like so many other reports, the family style appetizers were all really amazing. Eggplant rollatini, stuffed mushrooms, clams, calamari, shrimp franchaise... and a few more I can't remember. I also can't remember what everyone had, except to say that we all enjoyed our meals... EVEN the KIDS! I had the Halibut with lobster risotto, which came home with me... and just got finished as I write this review. The ambiance is really unexpected from the outside... We were lucky to have a "private" room... although the baby shower just outside the door was... a little loud. Fresco is a BYO, which is always a major plus in my book. We tried this place as an alternative to Arthur's Steakhouse in North Brunswick. I was in the mood for a good 24 oz. Ribeye for my birthday, but my wife can't take the decor and smell of Arthur's. Luckily, I found this spot. The ambiance alone was miles ahead of Arthur's. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Making reservations was easy. The food was excellent!The Ribeye was only 22 oz. but was seasoned perfectly and the temperature was precise. It was very filling. I ate the whole thing. My family loved their dishes, as well. They don't have a bar. However, it's BYOB or BYOW. Luckily, there's a liquor store with a decent wine close by. This place is worth coming back to. read more

This time we started the manga calamari for appetizer and then the Kansas City steak and the Halibut for dinner. I couldn't finish the fish. It was so much but so good. Service is wonderful. First we did not get menus , after they seated the four of us . I waited for 10-15 minutes , got up went to front desk asked for menus . OK read the menus , we asked our next table diners what they had , they told us about the other menu you had to scan . Now up to this point NO waiter approached us AT ALL! After another 5-10 min the waiter tells us about the best specials etc . Then he asks our orders , takes our orders . The French onion soup was very good , not too salty , the seafood risotto was too salty , I did not taste it . My dish was excellent , broiled seafood medley plenty of large pieces of shrimp , salmon , stuffed lobster tail , scallops , a couple of vegetables , also good , not dry , it had a lemon butter sauce with it , very good. Other dishes were , a crab cake app , was too small , and the other dish was good . Mainly I don't think we were assigned a waiter , no water refills , no , offers of seasoning , cheese , never asked if everything was OK . Oh never asked if we want dessert , never received a check to pay , after eating ! Now we were not in a rush we had good company , the four of us . Talking about whatever . Eventually I had to walk again up to the front desk to ask for a check , I told him we could have used more water , he said he could get us water , I said don't bother . I waited for him to produce a check , I walked back to table , we paid and left . Now note it was a full restaurant , plenty parties of 6 , 8 , diners . The dessert options were plentiful and perfect to share. Cake was moist and did the job, but had a subtle hint of lemon, not sure why. Went here for my birthday dinner and we had a great experience. Frescos isn't the most update interior, but for some reason, I feel like that added to some cozy charm. We were not greeted with the warmest reception, but we were seated immediately without our full party, so that was good. Our server Andreas, was very attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the menu, especially the specials lol (there were like 25 of them). I love that this place is BYOB.. allows the bill not to be astronomical as there were about 8 of us. Menu is a nice size with good variety. I attended a conference in the area. We made reservations for a party of 12 to eat on a Friday at 6:30. The restaurant is BYOB but it is in a plaza with a liquor store a few doors down. The staff were attentive, restaurant was clean but it is a bit small (for a large group). They have various food options. They serve warm bread in the beginning of the meal. The calamari was tasty. I ordered the chicken parm and it was delicious. I ordered the Oreo cheesecake to take home and it did not disappoint. Overall the group consensus was that the atmosphere and food were delicious. As always the server was great, but this time the specials were recited, I did notice while overhearing the specials told to a neighboring table that we weren't told all the specials. Came in earlier this week with a group of four for a business dinner. Been here many times over the past 10-15 years but not recently. Our server was excellent and I wish I could say the same about the food. The food has significantly dropped off since the last time I ate here. Seafood mixed appetizer for the group was pretty disappointing. Oysters/clams were ok, sashimi was good. Lobster tails on the app plate were barely edible. We also ordered the escargot appetizer which was the highlight of dinner. It was excellent. I ordered the filet mignon special which had chimichurri on top. It came with Brussels sprouts (way overdone and mushy) and potatoes which were in the underdone side of things. Two shrimp as well which were grilled. Shrimp were good, nothing special. Presentation was pretty sad. The filet was cooked to order but the cut of meat was very poor for a filet at this price point. My colleague also got the filet special and said his filet was not a good cut of meat either. Sad to see this place drop off so severely from how I remembered it. Will not be back and can't recommend. Much better places in the area to spend your $$$. read more

I visited Fresco this past Saturday night to attend a dinner party for 20. 3 separate tables in order to comply with Governor Murphy's COVID19 dining regulations. Seating outside, a handful of outdoor propane heaters to warm up the location. The food was very good as usual.....the service was far better than usual which is why I felt compelled to update the review. I have always loved the menu, the food and the BYOB policy however I always experience the worst service. The young lady who took care of our tables handled her business like a champ....forgive me because I don't recall her name. I dined indoors at Fresco this past weekend with my parents. We called last minute to see if we could get a table for 3 inside and they said if we came now, we could be seated right away (they live 5 minutes away). They've done a good job in the indoor dining rooms spacing all the tables out. It seems like the tables are closer to each other if you sit outdoors. The menu has been consolidated to one page so it's easy to wipe down between meals. Fresco has a lot of nightly specials - I wish they would make those available on their website or on a scannable menu since it's very hard to hear with the masks and remember everything the waiter said. I got a crab cake & beef tenderloin special with potatoes and vegetables and it came with a salad to start. The crab cake was yummy; the beef tenderloin was a little burnt on the edges which overpowered the taste. Wish it had not been so seared at the edges. Living in the area I have been going to fresco since they have opened and it's always been my go to place whether for regular Saturday night dinner family dinners Valentine's Day Mother's Day. I've been there a lot. We took one of our kids and their family fanniversary dinner . My granddaughters are 10 and 12. The children's menu was never offered but I knew enough to ask for it. One of the girls order from the kids menu the other wanted fillet mignon but with French fries not mashed. This isn't the first time we've done this. The waiter who I've never seen before returned to the table telling us there would be an extra charge for the fries. Not wanting to upset the child I said no problem. She got her fries with a $6 charge but not the original side that comes with this adult portion of steak. It has made me stay away from there for a while. Love this place! My go-to meal is the filet mignon wrapped in bacon. It comes with a side of mashed potatoes and veggies and it is delicious! They usually have daily specials which are all very good as well. I have even had their salad with grilled chicken which blew me away and was one of the best salads I have ever had!
