    Seafood Fra Diavolo

We went here with a large group of people and had a private room. The service and food was excellent. Fred was our waiter and he had help from the rest of the staff when serving us. Our table started with the mixed appetizers. I lost count of all that was served to us but everyone enjoyed the calamari, shrimp, eggplant rollatini, stuffed clams and mussels and a few other appetizers. I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo for my main dish and my wife had an evening special of Scallop Risotto. Our table had numberous deserts also. It is a BYOB facility so we had plenty of wine. It is worth going to again.

LouCas to Frescos for back to back crew steak nights with special guest from North Carolina... Michael "Fat Koko with bacon and egg for Fraser" Fraser was outstanding. 9 of us so we ordered most of the menu and passed it around. Great service ... wasn't too loud so we could hear the same inside jokes we've been telling for 30 years. Pork Chops at these 2 restaurants are A+. Servers recommendation was the grilled octopus for apps and he was right on. Steaks came out great as expected. Oysters on the half shell were fresh. Frito Misto for an app was nice n crunchy. Milltown n EB same as it ever was.

Came here with my family and a family friend. We had made a reservation and were quickly seated when we arrived. The restaurant was clean and well-lit (I say this because sometimes it's hard to read the menus when places are dimly lit). Let me preface: one of the guests was a picky eater & yet even she enjoyed eating here! It's definitely pricey, but a nice experience overall. Appetizer: Hot antipasto for two - SO TASTY! The stuffed mushrooms melted in your mouth like butter & was my favorite. I was surprised to really like the eggplant as well. The zucchini fries were crispy. Entree: I got the crab stuffed brazini with Brussel sprouts and it was absolutely delicious. Others got salmon as well and said it was tasty too. Dessert: Tiramisu - WOW! This coupled with the espresso was the perfect combination and ending to lunch.

We tried this place as an alternative to Arthur's Steakhouse in North Brunswick. I was in the mood for a good 24 oz. Ribeye for my birthday, but my wife can't take the decor and smell of Arthur's. Luckily, I found this spot. The ambiance alone was miles ahead of Arthur's. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Making reservations was easy. The food was excellent! The Ribeye was only 22 oz. but was seasoned perfectly and the temperature was precise. It was very filling. I ate the whole thing. My family loved their dishes, as well. They don't have a bar. However, it's BYOB or BYOW. Luckily, there's a liquor store with a decent wine close by. This place is worth coming back to.

I enjoyed everything about my dining experience here. The food was exceptional and the service by Adelina and her coworkers were top notch. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fancy yet local spot! 10/10

Great neighborhood restaurant. Good portions and everything I've had on menu is delicious. This time we started the manga calamari for appetizer and then the Kansas City steak and the Halibut for dinner. I couldn't finish the fish. It was so much but so good. Service is wonderful. They are not rushing you. Suggest reservations and it's BYOB.

Divine date night spot, but be sure to make a reservation in advance--long wait time. Wonderful and attentive service. BYOB! Octopus app was the most tenderly cooked I have ever had, but was lacking seasoning. Big portion to share. Soups were pretty good, but also not blow away. The steak was extremely juicy and cooked to perfection, though the blue cheese topping was a little overbearing. Scallops were very tasty, but only 4 moderately sized (not jumbo). The risotto is a MUST get!!! Best I ever had--jazzed with garlic and creaminess. The crispy onions were a strange side, could've used a fresh veggie. The dessert options were plentiful and perfect to share. Cake was moist and did the job, but had a subtle hint of lemon, not sure why. Would try this place again as their menu is diverse and fairly priced.

Went here for my birthday dinner and we had a great experience. Frescos isn't the most update interior, but for some reason, I feel like that added to some cozy charm. We were not greeted with the warmest reception, but we were seated immediately without our full party, so that was good. Our server Andreas, was very attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the menu, especially the specials lol (there were like 25 of them). I love that this place is BYOB.. allows the bill not to be astronomical as there were about 8 of us. Menu is a nice size with good variety. We ordered the appetizer sampler which had calamari, eggplant rollantini, stuffed clams (soo good), stuffed mushrooms (over the top good), etc. I would recommend that to appease everyone in your party. My grandfather had a side of the crab cakes which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy. My French onion soup was average.. I've had much better. For my entree, lobster ravioli was delicious. Stuffed nicely with a very nice balanced sauce. Dessert was cappuccino which was tasty. Frescos is a solid choice if you're in the area.

Tonight, I decided to pull in and give it a shot. The place was packed inside. I'm not sure how word got out to the community that this place is really good. But it has. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a large chicken caesar salad. The pizza crust at this place is SPECTACULAR. The outer crust is crispy and crunchy and not even a little bit dry. The undercrust is also crispy and crunchy and stands up straight when you pick up the slice. The cheese is high quality. After just one bite, I understood the reason the place was so crowded. There are a lot of people working in the kitchen and they also have a sit down waitress service area that was full as well. There are plenty of wait staff running around and serving dinner. Everyone is very friendly and the gentleman behind the counter greeted me the second I walked in the door. Now for my negative criticisms and they are borderline petty. The sauce was good but it doesn't blow you away. When you have spectacular crust and high quality cheese, you would expect the sauce to be on the same playing field. It just isn't. It could probably have used a bit more seasoning. I understand that if you have a lot of staff you also have a lot of overhead. I am not opposed to paying up for high quality products but my large pepperoni pizza and chicken caesar salad cost just under $49.00 which is extremely high for this area. It's definitely worth your time to give this place a shot. But it's definitely not a place you can eat at often unless you're independently wealthy. Overall Rating: A

I'm convinced she clocks in by yelling, "I'm ready! I'm ready!" The second I found out she loves SpongeBob, everything clicked. She has SpongeBob's work ethic, Sandy's efficiency, Patrick's friendliness (but thankfully remembered our order), and she somehow survived dealing with hungry customers better than Squidward survives a Monday. If the Krusty Krab was a real restaurant, Mr. Krabs would've promoted Brooke immediately, SpongeBob would've finally had someone who could keep up with him, and Plankton would probably try to steal her instead of the Krabby Patty formula. 10/10 service. Lunch time on a weekday seems to be the perfect time to dine here. I enjoyed everything I ordered, from appetizer to dessert. I started with the calamari which arrived fresh and hot, crispy and lightly salted, and didn't stand a chance at our table. I ordered the ribeye "Bryan style" which tops the steak with goat cheese, lemon butter, sun-dried tomatoes, and possibly parsley. I enjoy a more marbled steak, but this was a particularly fatty cut. Overall, the flavor from the toppings really came together for a well-balanced taste, mildly salty and savory. The ribeye comes with a choice of soup or salad; I chose the Caesar salad, which was brought out prior to my entree. It's a good, crunchy salad made with real anchovies. Making sure to leave room for dessert, I ordered the peach and blackberry crostata which is an open faced tart served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I ordered it to-go, and naturally my ice cream melted before I made it home. I was mostly interested in the peaches anyway which I attacked while waiting for the check. I will just leave it up to my imagination how it would have tasted with the ice cream. Our server was great, attentive, and was available for anything we needed. I would definitely return to this location.

The manager was OK, but a bit businesslike instead of warm and welcoming. The main and specials menus had interesting items listed, but I was concerned about the comment on the menu that red tomato sauce is used in most dishes, since that is not my go-to choice. Before I ordered, I asked our waitress if the Pollo Saltimbocca alla Romana on the specials menus had a red sauce or a white wine sauce as listed on the menu, and was assured it was a white wine sauce. Two of us ordered that and both dishes came with a red sauce. Neither of us expected that - neither of us liked it. It was very bland. It didn't taste anything like any Saltimbocca I've ever had. My wife ordered Chicken Marsala and said it was tasteless bland Marinara sauce with button mushrooms, instead of a Marsala sauce with Marsala mushrooms. The manager came over and asked how we liked our food. When one of us said the Saltimboca was not as expected and not very good, she started arguing that it was the way the menu described it. Not a great response to an unhappy customer. Portion sizes were OK, but this dining experience was an overall disappointment. We will never repeat it. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this restaurant. It is BYOB and has off-street parking.
