Grandma pie

Ordered a grandma pie from here and was pretty impressed. Nice thin crispy crust, pizza was not greasy, and takeout order was ready in less than 15 mins!

Pepperoni pizza

7/6/25 - I've lived in Central NJ since 2002. I must have driven by Maria's Pizza and Subs in Milltown, NJ a few hundred times but never stopped. Until today. We got a large pepperoni and a large spinach artichoke. I heard that the pizza there was super thin and crispy. This was not my experience. Our pies although on the thinner side definitely have more substantial dough than other thin crust pizzas I've sampled. I've learned that dining in is the way to go from a deliciousness factor. But this place is so tiny inside so I opted for take out. The pies are reasonably priced and they are delicious. There's ample parking in the back. Friendly staff. Fast service. And the family loved em. I'll be back. Overall Rating: B+

Supposed to be a pepperoni bar pie.. only a few pieces of pepperoni though..

I wanted to love this pizza place, I really did. When we first moved into town 5 years ago, we thought this was a pretty good place.. but then it went downhill in my opinion. We ordered a bar pie with pepperoni the other day. When we got home and opened it, I thought someone was playing a joke. There was minimal pepperoni on the pizza; I wouldn't even call it a pepperoni pizza at that point. It was nice and thin and crispy, but very disappointing when it came to the pepperoni.

*NEW Spinach & Artichoke Pizza, Paparadelle with Bolognese Sauce Pasta Special, Jalapeno Poppers

The spinach and artichoke pizza is flavor packed and delicious- definitely a pizza to try. We ordered it well done so it was extra toasty. The bolognese sauce was perfect, loved the dollops of ricotta, the perfect touch. Service was faster than expected on a busy night. Small inside so haven't eaten inside, but great spot for takeout. Would recommend!

Enjoying pizza with my favorite buddy!

Went to Maria's with my favorite pizza buddy and per usual, they never miss a shot. They have outdoor seating -which is where we posted. Clean and overlooking the busy Main St. We had a plain pie but nothing of it was plain. In fact it was hot, cheesy, crispy and full of flavor. Maria's is your typical mom and pop authentic pizzeria that everyone relies on when they want to feel at home. The staff is always busy, but friendly and swift. If you're ever in the mood to slow down and enjoy life, stop in and have a slice or two at Maria's. Oh and do yourself a favor and order their superb Thai Chili Wings -they are not the wingettes either. The wings are cooked to perfection every time!

Tried a few things here and can honestly say, they are consistent with their food quality. Last time I tried the Big Mac pizza, that was different. Not bad. Good cheese pies and chef salad.

Medium White Pizza

Got takeout from Maria's tonight while visiting my Family in central NJ. Ordered around 7 pm and our food was ready right on time for pick up 25 minutes later. We ordered a grandma pie with pepperoni and a medium white pie. The grandma pie wasn't as crispy as I hoped when we first brought it home, but after keeping it in the oven for 20 minutes or so, it got crispier. The sauce was good and lots of pepperoni. At first glance, the white pie just seemed like a solid cheese layer; I'm used to white pies with blobs of fresh ricotta throughout. It was pretty tasty though, again after keeping it in oven for a bit to get crispier and warm the cheese. I'd give this place a solid 3.5 stars. Good pizza for the cost. A little oily.

It's good pizza! I had both the bar pie and the regular pie. If you are in Milltown then you should have pizza here.

5/1/26 - There's a somewhat new place on Ryders Lane in Milltown called Pasquale Brick Oven Pizza…read more The parking lot has looked crowded the last few times that I have driven by. Tonight, I decided to pull in and give it a shot. The place was packed inside. I'm not sure how word got out to the community that this place is really good. But it has. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a large chicken caesar salad. The pizza crust at this place is SPECTACULAR. The outer crust is crispy and crunchy and not even a little bit dry. The undercrust is also crispy and crunchy and stands up straight when you pick up the slice. The cheese is high quality. After just one bite, I understood the reason the place was so crowded. There are a lot of people working in the kitchen and they also have a sit down waitress service area that was full as well. There are plenty of wait staff running around and serving dinner. Everyone is very friendly and the gentleman behind the counter greeted me the second I walked in the door. Now for my negative criticisms and they are borderline petty. The sauce was good but it doesn't blow you away. When you have spectacular crust and high quality cheese, you would expect the sauce to be on the same playing field. It just isn't. It could probably have used a bit more seasoning. I understand that if you have a lot of staff you also have a lot of overhead. I am not opposed to paying up for high quality products but my large pepperoni pizza and chicken caesar salad cost just under $49.00 which is extremely high for this area. It's definitely worth your time to give this place a shot. But it's definitely not a place you can eat at often unless you're independently wealthy. Overall Rating: A

With many…read morespectacular reviews both online and through those I've spoken to in person, I had such high hopes that I was going to find my new go-to pizza spot, but I don't think I will ever return after this encounter. We dined in on a snowy evening when there were no other patrons in the restaurant. Very few stopped in to grab to-go orders, but we were the only group to actually sit and eat dinner here. Upon reaching the counter in search of a menu, our first negative encounter occurred. We asked an employee if we could see a menu, and he dismissed us quite quickly in a rude manner, telling us to look on the counter as if we were blind. No menus there, nothing was there actually, leaving us standing confused. Once he realized his mistake, menus were thrown onto the counter without another word spoken. During this time a family did walk into the restaurant to pick up a to-go orders, which was not yet prepared, leaving them to stand and wait. When we decided on our order and approached the counter once again, we were told we had to wait 5 minutes for them to take our order. Understandable if the restaurant was busy and the front of house staff were in the middle of doing something, but no - the person who told us to wait 5 minutes was just standing there, doing nothing. This employee was not actively making the other guest's order (as there was a back kitchen responsible for that), leaving us even more confused as to why we had to stand there waiting, face to face with the employee, who was just standing and staring at us. After a few minutes of standing in confusion, the other employee who we encountered prior began arguing with this one, in front of the guests waiting for food, leaving us in a very awkward position. Only after the employee was scolded by his coworker was our order officially taken down. Once we received our food we sat at the few tables Ninos had to enjoy our meal. Throughout our dinner the two workers remained arguing with each other, outwardly discussing staffing issues and leaving us to feel unwelcome. Upon leaving, we packed up our leftovers and returned to the counter in search of a bag to place our food in. When asking the staff for a bag, we were thrown a stack of paper bags and told to take what we needed. Since the bag looked to be on the smaller end, we asked if this bag would fit the aluminum tray of food that we had leftover, to which the staff replied "I don't know, go figure it out for yourself." The food was decent, the pizza was crispy but nothing to write home about. During the time we dined in the options for pizza were a bit limited (understandably). The penne vodka was just okay, we felt as if it was pretty bland and heavy on the cream. The best thing consumed here was the Philly cheesesteak - messy and cheesy in the best way, but also lacking flavor and could have used a sharper cheese or even some salt. The bread was fresh and soft, which would be great for other hero sandwiches they serve. With the food being mediocre and the service horrific, we definitely did not feel welcome when dining in here. Throwing items at customers seems to be a common activity here, along with dismissive remarks and constant arguing between the staff making you feel as if you've intruded on personal matters. If the service were better my group would have considered returning, but this experience has left a bad taste in our mouths overall.

Through the years, if anyone asked me for a recommendation for pizza, I would ask you what style you preferred. And if your answer was thick neopolitan, I sent you here. I grew up on Staten Island and my favorite pizza shop was Al's Pizza (RIP) on the corner of Jewett Ave and Victory Blvd. That's the same style I grew up eating. That's what I prefer. But I do enjoy other types as well. Michelangelo's reminds me of Al's very much. The pizza at Michelangelo's is thick, hearty and heavy. Tonight, we ordered one plain and one pepperoni. The plain is thick and chewy. It has a small crunch to it. The outer crust is thick and chewy with a light crunch as well. It is not dry at all. The cheese tastes premium and there is plenty of it for you cheese lovers. For me, the star here is the sauce. The pie is generously sauced which I absolutely love. You would think a pie this thick would be droopy, but it surprisingly stands up pretty well. And if it does droop a little, the cheese is so abundant that it holds it together and nothing slides off. The pepperoni has all the same traits. The difference here is the pepperoni adds a lot of grease which I'm not crazy about. I dont believe it's the pie makers fault as pepperoni gives off a lot of grease when cooked. I love the staff here. Friendly and competent. I am always greeted by my first name which is appreciated. There's been some happenings here recently which led me to believe there were issues with the business. It was closed for 8 days without any indication as to why. The phone was also disconnected. Finally on day 4, I saw a sign on the door in the distance but I was late for a ballgame and didn't have time to stop and read it. It's such a good pie that I hope they have resolved the issues permanently whatever they may have been. Overall Rating: A-

Came to Frank's Pizza to do my son's second birthday party. Overall our experience was pretty good…read more I would say they'll be so much. Very good. We'd gotten several pies and a salad. Pies I found very good value. The salad not so much. We've gotten the chicken marsala pie, a grandpa pie, a sausage and broccoli rabe, and a white pizza with broccoli. The fan favorites for our party were the chicken marsala and the grandpa pie. The guys who helped us set up was really nice, he checked on our party multiple times, they set us up with a table in the back to accommodate 12 adults and two kids. The restaurant itself is pretty roomy for a pizzeria. The back area itself is a little more a sit-down feel. As for parking, they have a shared lot about your businesses, since it's on the corner of Jason to a ShopRite parking can be harder to find, but it's not impossible. Impossible. You might have to make a couple passes or park far and walk if you're fine with that. If you're coming with with older kids or just adults shouldn't be an issue at all. The only place where this lost the star was when my wife had a call. I had to order the pizzas. She was thinking about getting a little side salad and wasn't too sure. She was up sold on a half catering tray of Caesar salad. That was really just chop from a lettuce and some croutons. She did not ask a price for it which is on her that half Caesar salad was 40 bucks. And we took the majority of it home which was basically a waste so I feel like we would have been better served getting two regular Caesar salads or one Caesar salad because we were getting four pizzas already. Another thing to be wary of especially with large parties is I'm fairly certain they did include gratuity on our party. Which would be fine if when we got the bill we got an itemized receipt. They had instead just given us a receipt with the grand total. My wife not thinking there was tip on there had tipped on it again so they got an extra generous tip from us. Either that or they mischarged us because when I went back and did the math we were either overcharged or they had added gratuity without letting us know. Despite this, it was still a good experience. My son loved her chicken marsala pizza and ate the leftover slices over the next two days afterwards. If we were in this plaza again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop back in.
