Vito's sandwich dad grilled chicken, arugula, roasted peppers, and fresh mozzarella. Bread was crispy and nicely toasted. The sandwich cane with a side of balsamic vinaigrette. The meatball parm sandwich had good flavor. The bread was also toasted. The staff was friendly. The restaurant isclean and has a seating area. Parking out front. I love their pizza. It is probably my favorite in the greater East Brunswick area.. Yeah, I know there is some stiff competition, but my palate prefers Francesco's pizza. It is the perfect sauce to cheese ratio... the crust is delicious on its own... perfectly chewy, just how I like it. And the sauce has that slight sweetness that I love. Also, my husband said that service is extremely friendly (he picked up the order)... The reason why it is only 4 stars is because the wings were some of the worst that I've had. A large order was placed at my job through the app slice which included a single slice of mushrooms and onions. It was simply a mushroom and onion slice with no other options given on the app. When I looked at what arrived it was just absolutely mind-boggling and appalling, this sad excuse of a slice had raw onions and mushrooms haphazardly thrown on top. SIDE NOTE I just wanted to include that this photo was taken AFTER I had already picked off so much of the onion already. Normally every pizza place I have tried (in my 27 years as a NJ native) will just add the toppings with a little extra cheese on top on a cheese slice just to revive the slice and make it look appealing. When I reached out to the store, thinking they forgot and stating how unacceptable this was a girl who answered the phone said that this is how it is done, they don't cook the toppings unless it is specified. I was completely baffled and had never come across this before, and there was going to be a 0% chance I was going to be eating raw onions at my customer service job. She was very snippy and disregarded me, stating that the owner has been doing this for 30-40 years. I then asked her what the owner's many years of experience said regarding customer service because this is embarrassing and she nonchalantly said I could just file a dispute with the slice app. Thanks for the stellar service! I used to think I lived in a bad area for Italian food, being in Middlesex county. I missed the good cheap pizzerias in BK/ SI. Then I discovered Maria's in Milltown and now possibly even better, Francesco!! Besides the excellent food, Francesco's also has amazing availability which is something I definitely can't say the same for at most restaurants in NYC. The last time I was at Francesco's, I was able to walk in and have a sit-down dinner for 6 adults and 7 kids on a week night. They threw some tables together and made it work. This time my family arrived for Sunday lunch and we were the only ones eating at the restaurant. Usually that's a bad sign but definitely not here. The food was still amazing. The grandma pie was super good - the crust was fresh, soft and doughy on the inside and on top was flavorful cheese garlicky sauce and basil. The pastas are terrific as well. We had a lunch special with linguini in red sauce with calamari shrimp and mushrooms. We ordered it fra diavolo and it was excellent. It was only $13 for lunch too. The fried calamari was good too - fresh tasting and crispy shell and soft tasty squid inside. The marinara sauce was also delicious. For me, the food is amazing, the service was attentive and the prices are very reasonable. The owner has been at the counter both times we dined in and is very friendly. Throw in ample parking and previously mentioned great availability/ convenience, and Francesco's is an easy 5 stars for me. read more

So, when you order $41 worth of food on a Friday after a long week you're not gonna be happy when it doesn't show up. Ordered with grub hub, but the restaurant does the delivery. Called when it was 30 minutes late. They said they never saw the order because their internet was out because of the recent storm which is understandable. The guy on the phone offered to put my order together and send it out, but when I told him I ordered a Sicilian pizza he said they didn't have them and offered a grandma pie. At that point I was fed up, got my money back from grub hub and got Domino's . Some really obvious advice for this place. If your internet is out kindly inform the service you use that you can't take orders. Seems simple. Also, Sicilian pizza should be something you never run out of. These guys will deliver on their website to anywhere within a 5 mile radius, so if you are in Spotswood, you may qualify for delivery even if yelp says no. The meatballs here are delicious, which is always a good sign someone knows how to cook. Penne vodka was also excellent. So far so good. The not so good was the margherita pizza. Sauce and crust were tasty, but the basil was lost and the cheese is tasteless. The slices were floppy, and the center of the pie was a mess. My driver forgot my sodas, and they tried to give me a credit for next order to fix the problem. When I wasn't loving that, the boss man drove over the sodas, which is just top notch service. The bad part was he used so much cologne I could smell in on the bottle every time I took a sip. So overall, these guys cook good food and go out of their way for the customer to be happy. Not a bad spot, but not very clean. We were in Milltown for a car show, and after calling a few local places that, despite the 25% indoor occupancy rule now in effect, are still not allowing indoor dining. I don't get that - the restaurants have been complaining about not being able to open, now they can - but some places aren't offering you to eat inside? It's October, it isn't great eating outside, especially after the sun goes down - it's too cold for comfort. This place had indoor dining, with tables spaced out for social distancing. However, the place desperately needs to be cleaned thoroughly. The chairs were dusty and dirty. The pizza spatula put on our table was encrusted with dirt and rust. When you use the bathroom, you can see the kitchen is dirty and disorganized. The bathrooms were not clean. Have I seen worse, yes, but that's not the object here, to see if there are dirtier bathrooms than this place. Instead of the high school age employees sitting at empty tables, while playing on their cellphones, a more capable manager/owner would have had them cleaning the place. The food was ok, we had pizza, salads, and a few cold sub sandwiches, and everything was decent. I have no complaints about the food. The place needs a deep cleaning, and a better program of regular maintenance. read more

We love this place! Their portions are huge. My husband and I usually split the Vito's Favorite sandwich, which is so good. The chicken cutlet they use in the sandwich is nice and thin, and there is plenty of flavor. The half size is more than enough for 2 people to share. We've also gotten the pasta dishes for dinner. Again, portions are great to two people (plus leftovers). They come with a side salad, bread, and a side of pasta. Delivery has always been quick and within the window they gave us. I'm not the biggest fan of switching local pizza places because I have stuck to my personal favorite spot for years on end, but I had to switch because I heard my friends raving about Francesco. The buffalo chicken pizza was amazing and different from most places, as the blue cheese isn't already added as a topping (which is one of my personal pet peeves.). The service is excellent too! Also, they tout Slice for on line ordering, but this does not allow for a refund if they make an error. Yes, they do what they can to rectify, but it is still frustrating. Okay. So I tried this place twice - Just so I can give them a fair rating. On both tries, I was seriously not impressed. Their food was very bla with nothing "authentic" about it. Their pizza was very dry and had way too much bread (not enough toppings) which really turned me off. How can you be a pizzeria and screw up pizza? Last night we tried the cheesesteak sandwich, the mozzarella sticks and the chicken francese with a side of alfredo fettuccini - the cheesesteak had very little meat in it (again mostly bread), the sticks were way overcooked (dry also at that point)....the chicken was okay but drenched in oil and lemon juice . . .The alfredo fettuccine was not bad. read more

Beware! None of the employees cooking or serving the food have masks covering their noses or mouths. They are wearing their masks under their chins including the owner. I also had to wait 45 minutes for a pizza because they don't know what they are doing. I was told your pizza was given to those people outside but they didn't open the box. Believe me I wouldn't have accepted but turns out they made it wrong. They had to remake two pizzas for myself and the people eating outside. I can't believe they are cooking food talking and arguing while spittle is flying everywhere. Took the pizza home and heated it in the oven. I will never go there again. Accurate delivery speed time and food that satisfied my cravings! I ordered the plain pizza and pepperoni slices and they satisfied my pizza craving. The pizza was still very warm and I love when the cheese is still gooey. This is one of the few delivery places that allows individual pizza slices rather than ordering an entire pizza pie for delivery (via GrubHub). The chef salad and side salad were made with fresh ingredients. I also liked the deli meat and cheese; very fresh and juicy slices/rolls. The meat ravioli was still hot when it arrived and it even came with blue cheese dressing. The ravioli was mouth-watering and flavorful. It also came with a side of sliced bread. The mozzarella sticks were good but not the best; the marinara sauce was the same. Lastly, when I ordered online, I asked for two large fountain drinks ($2.00) each. I was expecting the drinks to be "large" and worth $2.00, but instead I got two bottled drinks! I was disappointed at the drink size since I drink a lot of fluids. The chemical odor coming from the rest rooms can be very strong whenever someone opens the door to the rest room. So get your food to go and enjoy it.
