For a hospital cafeteria this is very decent. One of the few blessings of my mom's hospital stay…read morewas eating a yummy and affordable breakfast at the cafeteria. The wonderful chef made me a bacon breakfast sandwich on Saturday and the breakfast quesadilla on Sunday. I was disappointed that they were closed on Labor Day. It's not like anything you've never had but the fact that it was cooked fresh with good ingredients and love made all the difference. The (turkey) bacon was very crispy and hot. The breakfast quesadilla is actually 3 separated corn tortilla quesadillas which were almost like tacos, plus it was served with sour cream and a taco sauce? I got it was three extra pieces of (turkey) bacon. It really hit the spot when my mom's breakfast kind of let her down. Mom ate one, I ate one and I was able to take one home for my dad. Also, when I returned home to my dad, he had been refusing most foods, including his favorites but he enjoyed the quesadilla and the bacon which was more than a relief. I was bummed I never made it to lunch. This Kaiser has been very good to us, including the nice staff in the cafeteria from the chef and the cashier. It was not an easy couple of nights but the cafeteria was a bright spot. Wish they had longer hours.

We tried the focaccia bread for the appetizer, it was really tasty. I chose the wedge salad with shrimp and for dessert I had the banana bread pudding. Both were really good. Did not acknowledge special event even though the birthday was listed on the reservations which I can overlook but this would be a great way to deliver a great experience. They seem to have too many rules in place and not enough freedom for staff to make things right. We didn't want to send anything back when the dish was not up to par. But we informed them of the situation afterwards. They took the plate back and asked the head chef to taste it and they credited the remaining food that wasn't consumed. This is policy but does not accomplish anything. First, they did not inform us of the decision. Second, I would prefer they didn't credit anything if they're not crediting the entire dish since it makes it seem like they are upset we complained by only crediting what was not eaten. For this price range ~$100 per person I would assume a higher bar. It's not the outcome that matters but how the guest feels after the experience. Was money happily spent should be the question they ask. I would have preferred an apology from the head chef. When I'm spending $100 per person I get best wishes from the waitstaff and a healthy pour of champagne for celebratory drinks on the house to start off the experience. This is common practice and expected. An extra dessert only after we ordered dessert falls flat and seems meaningless. It should have been delivered before we were asked if we wanted desserts. Offering after we ordered desserts makes me feel they wouldn't have given anything if we didn't spend money on desserts already. There was a possible step to save the service delivery when they were out of ice wine - comp the port - which wasn't done either. Many blunders with the service but I would go back - not for special occasions, though. Maybe just for business lunches - less personal experiences would be acceptable. Drinks were acceptable though and I would like to try their wine list.

There's outdoor seating too if you don't want to wait for indoors. I ordered the hazelnut iced coffee which was creamy and refreshing. Fortunately, not too busy when I went on Tuesday 11:30amish for breakfast. Ordered: -#6 Eggs Milan (with included hashbrown and choice of toasts.) loved that it had pesto sauce on it, too. -Apple cinnamon waffles (with sautéed apples, cinnamon sugar spice and whipped cream, maple syrup on the side). Also pretty delicious & fluffy. Overall, it's worth the meal. Great prices for food and smooth tasting coffee.
