I could taste the barest hint of mint, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the filling was. It had a very empty, artificial quality to it. My sons finished it, and enjoyed it. Made with something like 87% Dark Chocolate (with healthy antioxidants), this brownie must be the healthiest dessert in all of mankind. I must order it! So I did, along with a cup of coffee (it was the only truck serving warm coffee). Verdict? Each bite was indeed a supernatural explosion of sweet flavors, dopamine and euphoria flooding my brain. I gave a friend a bite and she was equally amazed and commented that "she could taste the butter." Wait. Hold on. This isn't healthy, is it? Damn. I thought..maybe it was? Well, it is. It's healthy for the soul. That's it. Yes. 5 stars for the dessert. 3 stars for the coffee. I'd love to see some Stumptown or artisan-roasted coffee brewed here with a lot of love. As an avid tea drinker, I personally was expecting at least loose tea. It was a bit dangerous for us trying to pass one kettle around the table of four people as well. They also don't give you any iced water to drink on the side which was disappointing. In addition, no one came to clean out or change out your tea cup when you were moving on to drink the next tea. So I ended having a taste of earl grey in the chamomile tea. For the 3rd tea, I ended up dumping some of it out on my plate and wiping with my napkin. Eek! We did however, enjoy the food. They present you with a 3 tiered tray with a variety of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries and jam/butter. We all thought the finger sandwiches, scones and desserts were delicious. We browsed around and were impressed by the offerings of baked goods such as bread and almond ring pastry, and jars of unique sauces and jams, plus their outstanding shortbread, which we sampled on the way home, ooohing and ahhhing and wishing we had a nice cuppa tea to go with! The associate was most generous and helpful. Now for the pie tasting....yes. It was hands down the best pot pie you can get locally. You can actually see and taste peas, carrots, onion and chicken, not just a pile of glop. It reminded us of grandma's chicken ala king back in the day.
