Stopped into Soupherb for lunch today with a few coworkers. As usual, the portobello chicken salad was amazing. It comes with one of the best raspberry vinaigrette dressings I've ever had. The tasty multigrain slice of bread included rounded off my meal perfectly. I really need to expand my order to something else on their expansive menu, but I don't get here often enough and always want this salad when I do! My coworkers were also pleased with their lunches - chicken portobello sandwich and grilled cheese with broccoli cheddar soup. 4 stars because even though they have someone clearing the dishes off the tables, the tables are always dirty and you have to do a quick wipe down with napkins before you sit. read more

I decided to stop into Soupherb before my doctor's appointment. It's a small establishment but warm and welcoming by 3 generations (all women) in the kitchen! I forgot to ask for their names but all 3 were super friendly,and patient with me and my questions on what's good to eat! Prices were decent and portions are good sizes! There was at least 8 types of soups, if you wanted a sample 1st, she gave you this tiny little bowl before you placed your order. I tried the Potato Soup and vegetable soup. Both were very good but I decided to go for the Goat Cheese+Roasted Vegetable Salad $9.95 ! Roasted red peppers, portabella mushroom, eggplant on a bed of greens with a HUGE dollop of toasted Goat cheese on top! I had the balsamic dressing on the side, it was not needed at all! This was delicious! While eating I observed a continuous flow of customers coming in to pick up orders or sit during lunchtime. Customers knew the staff by name and made friendly small talk. There are sandwiches on the menu and combos of choices to chose from the menu. I'll return soon just for the The Goat cheese+ Roasted Vegetable Salad before Friday, it was that good! Since this a food review it is hard for me to give more than 2 stars to this place. The staff was friendly and efficient so that made the experience pleasant but the food left a lot to be desired. We had the soup sampler and all soups lacked flavor and were watery. The bread that came with the soup was stale and the tuna macaroni salad needed so much salt to tastes I am glad I don't have high blood pressure. We had the BBQ chicken special wrap and it was so sloppy that it was leaving pools of something on my plate big enough to swim in. The onions that were supposed to be cooked were raw. The #. 8 for me was the best thing I are there due to the interesting combo of sprouts, mushrooms and turkey but the panini was burnt. Have to say folks. This place is getting one less star for my updated review. I decided to get some soup (roasted turkey noodle) to go with my usual already overpriced salad today. I didn't realize that a medium soup would run me almost another SEVEN dollars on top of my $10 salad!!!!! Still, I was excited to have some homemade turkey noodle soup... Boy, was I grossly disappointed. The noodles were super soggy, the soup itself was severely over-starched that it was more of a gelatin texture than it was a "broth". It was extremely salty... And the kicker is - it wasn't even real turkey that I had expected!!!!!!!!! Lucky for them I got it to go because I probably would have demanded my money back (though I'm sure they would have said no). I have to say, my chicken portobello salad was good as usual... But dear god, I will never ever ever ever order anything else from that place ever again. Oh btw, the bread that comes with the salad is pretty gross too. Gah!!!!! read more

I was truly surprised to see such a low rating for Soupherb, I love this place! The staff is always really friendly and accommodating. I always order the cajun chicken wrap (blackened chicken, lettuce, avocado, cheddar, red pepper, chipotle mayo) and a side of chips. Every once in awhile i'll order a soup too. I've had the chicken wing, lobster bisque and tomatoes ravioli before and they are all fantastic. Slightly pricey for lunch but everything is homemade from scratch so that is to be expected. Free refills on soda and their baked goods are delicious as well. (Get the brownie!) read more

The food here is excellent, but numerous times I show up and the sign says that they are open until a certain time and they are already closed. Arrived tonight at 6:05pm. Sign said they were open until 7:30. The lights were out, but the door was unlocked. This was from a previous time. Today 10/16/17 I really wanted a salad and knew they closed at 5pm on Mondays. I tried to call at 3:50 pm to order for take out. No answer. I drive up and see woman who works there talking on the phone by the door. By the time I park the door is locked at 4pm. Sign says they close at 5pm. Not sure what is going on here, but it is not a good business model. There are days that are very slow at work for me. I am not allowed to just close. Dirty dining area- dirty, dirty, dirty... Plus no air conditioning... Plus a hair of some sort on the rim of the soup cup... Oh man, I really truly seriously wanted to like eating here, since I heard a former classmate & family own it now, but it was one bad realization after another. Though, I will say it was bustling. Almost every table was full, so someone sees something redeeming about Soupherb... I will say that the food itself had an overall decent taste though, that's why I'm giving 2 stars, not 1. I ordered a cup of the chicken & poblano soup and the turkey panini. Mom had a cup of the chili and half of a BLT, the menu special. Chicken & poblano tasted good, but I think the chicken meat was CANNED... UGH, kill me now!!! It also tasted sort of canned overall, so eh. The chili that I tasted was awful. Just had a bad taste, can't quite pin point why- looked good but tasted BAD. My panini was decent, aside from the sprouts. Hot sprouts melted into cheese are not good. Fresh sprouts are fine- they should be used like lettuce- would you press lettuce into a panini? No. Didn't try the BLT but Mom said it was nothing special. We also had 2 cookies, which again LOOKED good, but only tasted okay. Too sugary. Blech. Don't even look down at the floor... I wanted to yack when I realized the floor was not all dark green- the edges indicated it was once a berber commercial carpet. Totally gross. And the table and chairs... OOOOOOF. Table was sticky and not clean, chair was so sticky that when I stood up my skirt was literally STUCK to it. WTF?! This place needs an overhaul of epic proportions. Clear out the dated 80's country kitchen look, scrub the chairs and tables CLEAN, paint 'em, and replace that flooring. Also get or jack up the a/c. It's damn near 90 outside and I was schvitzing the entire time I was there. Won't return unless major renovations happen because in my mind, a dirty dining area = a dirty kitchen and that just ain't gonna fly. read more

Homey little lunch spot. The food is prepared fresh for each order and I have always been very satisfied by the quality. You kind of feel like you are at a cafeteria in a church. As far as the cleanliness, I have been here for lunch 4 times now and have never seen what Lindsay A or L.R have mentioned. No dirty tables or hair in food - that is for sure! The major negative of Soupherb is the cost. You cannot get lunch there for less than $15 a person. Pretty steep for Buffalo. Overall, I enjoy treating myself to lunch at Soupherb every one and awhile. read more

I used to love this place, today I ordered a $6.50 bowl of Italian Wedding Soup and am certain it is the same Progresso Soup I ate last week in my kitchen, I purchaed the can at Wegmans for $1,49. The only difference is the bowl from Soup Herb had a lot less meatballs than the contents of the can. read more

I have enjoyed the soups at this establishment and, after multiple years in the "food business" myself, I can say that these are the best I've ever had. I have had the French onion, bean, and other soups and they have all been outstanding. The flavoring is perfect and the stock is wholesome and has body to it. If you really enjoy great soups, you can't miss here. Service is also excellent and timely. The coffee they serve is one for someone who loves a good cup of coffee that is full bodied, oil free, and not bitter. I was in the mood for soup and we decided to give this place a try. I can only say this was so disappointing. My soup, chicken and dumplings, tasted like it came from a can and was barely warm. I also had a half of a grilled cheese sandwich which is the only reason I am giving it 2 stars. It was good, not great, but good with a nice flavor. My friend had a turkey sandwich which he said was alright but what you get for the cost seems a little absurd. The place feels very dirty and there were little bugs, like gnats, flying around the deli case of salads. I will be sure to find another place to go for soup from now on. read more

I used to eat here all the time when I worked at the bead store next door. The staff was always super nice and the food was excellent (I had a major addiction to the Cajun chicken wrap....sooooo good). I haven't been there in a few years and I'm supposed to go tonight with friends. I'm a week post-bariatric surgery and need soup options, so I have been trying to call since 2pm to see what the specials are. Not a single person has answered the phone (I wait so long, I get the operator)....your website says you're open until 8....I guess we'll see when we get there. If you are open, though, you can't take two minutes from making the food to answer your phone? I bet you lose a lot of customers that way. read more

I was very surprised at how absolutely freezing cold the dining area was. However, when we mentioned it to the counter staff, they did raise the heat. I ordered a grilled vegetable salad that was good; but the peppers seemed to be jarred to me. Why grill all the other vegetables and give me jarred peppers? For the most part this is one of my favorite places to get lunch they are sorta tucked away in a huge plaza so it's sorta hard to spot I've ordered a couple different meals from them since I started going in the last year. My favorite I would have to say by far is the Cajun salmon wrap it really is incredible. I don't know how they do it but the blend the perfect amount of spices to make it just right. The price isn't to bad 12.95 which is a great deal because it's a decent size wrap so it definitely fills you up. The wrap has grilled salmon fresh spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and I believe that was avocado, all mixed with mayo and Cajun spicing. The salad that I ordered was a caesar salad with grilled chicken on it. The grilled chicken was amazing, I'm not even kidding it was some of the best grilled chicken that I have ever eaten now the lettuce and the dressing on the other hand was I feel like something that you can purchase from a store in a bag and extremely generic caeser dressing in which I was very disappointed. Now onto the rating. the location is not the best, I believe they would do better business if they had there own location outside a very cramped plaza. The interior is also very generic for me they have an extremely narrow space so the seats out sort of pushed against both walls and you need to walk through this narrow space to get to the counter so it can't hold a lot of people. The customer service is weird sometimes it's great and other times it's par and what I mean by that is they were just business they didn't try to connect with me as a returning customer which I'm against I work in customer service my standard are a bit higher I expect to have you try to connect with me on a personal level and It just not consistent here but maybe that's asking a bit much there. What happened? This place went down hill fast. We used to eat here as a treat; due to the cost. Two sandwiches/wraps and a side salad trio will set you back over $30. We have been there twice in the last month. Both times were a disappointment. First trip we dined in, and they forgot to make my sandwich! Second time the salad portion was very small, and they tasted funny. My sandwich also had little to no meat on it. I would say maybe it was due to new crew, but it is always the same people working there. Don't waste your money or time. It is sad to say a chain restaurant would be a better value for your money. read more

This is one of my favorite places for a sandwich. That being said... the other night we walked in at 6pm (both the Internet and the hours posted on their door say they close at 730pm) and had the weirdest experience we've ever had here. I'll note that we were the only people there. When we got to the counter to order, the guy says "whatchuwant???" I had to have him repeat it a couple of times. We finally ordered, said we'd have it "for here" and sat down. Everything was very very sticky (table, floor, chairs). The two employees then seemed to make quite a display of how annoyed they were that we were there. They brought patio furniture inside, turned off the lights, walked by again to put a sign on the door that said "sorry for the inconvenience but we are now closed and will reopen tomorrow at 11am." We started feeling pretty awkward. Eventually our food came out, delicious as always, but they did forget my fiance's soup- he went up to the counter to ask for it and they had to pull it out of the cooler (all of the soups and sides were still out when we ordered). Made us feel really unwelcome- no indication when we ordered our food that they were trying to close up. We gobbled up our food quickly and were out the door by 630pm - probably won't be back for a while, and definitely not for dinner. read more

I visited Soupherb recently as a friend suggested it for lunch. It's a small place in a strip mall. Upon walking in, I couldn't help but notice how filthy the carpet is. I wanted to turn around and walk out but my friend was there waiting. You have to go up, cafeteria style and ask for what you want. They have an array of salads there - about 4 or 5 and sandwiches and soup. The kitchen looks very tiny. My food wasn't bad. I had a portobella sandwich and it was tasty with big pieces of mushroom, guacamole and cheese (which I usually don't eat, but I gave it a try). The table was dirty and sticky - we wiped it off with napkins. I also had minestrone soup. It was passable, and I ate about half of it. The staff is friendly and nice and accommodating. I feel they should clean this place up, maybe paint, get rid of that filthy carpet and bump out their counters. It could be great - but as of now, with the way it looks, it's too depressing to go back in there. It's sloppy looking and not a great atmosphere in my opinion. read more
