So, I ate here after eating a dinner catered from this place. This is basically like Chipotle except 1000 times better!!! The reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of all of the flies that were in the place. Now, I realize that this may be normal in Florida but I'm not from Florida and it's not normal to have insects flying around all over the place while you're eating. Flavorful, fast and guilt free food! I'm a member of the Junior League of Boca Raton and I attended a meeting in which Fresh Kitchen was served recently and it was delicious so I had it in my radar to give it a try on my own. I've now had it for dinner twice within 5 days. I enjoyed my meal (sweet potato mash, bbq chicken, roasted mushrooms, and kale slaw) so much the first time, I got the exact same thing again. The kale slaw is a little hard to eat although I get thats why it's referred to as slaw since it's cut so thinly. The BBQ chicken is excellent! I sat outside the first time which was nice (the plaza is beautiful and well maintained) and then got to-go the second time. Since I work in Fort Lauderdale, the only build your own bowl concept I'm very familiar with is Beehive Kitchen. Comparatively, FK seemed to have more options, the bowl is cheaper (Small or "four" is $6 at FK versus a $11 small bowl at BH) with no additions, the juices are cheaper ($5 at FK versus $8 at BH) and there is a kids size option which Beehive does not offer. Fresh Kitchen opened my eyes to a more affordable bowl concept that is in my city of residence. What's not to love? I thoroughly enjoyed both meals this week and will be back soon for more! read more

The cold noodles and BBQ chicken were great. The veggie chili kind of didn't go with it, I was looking for the brussels sprouts but I guess they weren't there that day. They recommended a sauce that they thought would go well with the chicken but I didn't like it and I didn't want to go pay $.50 for a different sauce so I just ate it like that. I'm so disappointed that I took a 30 min drive to pick up an order I placed online and I sent my husband to pick it up and they handed him someone else's order. He didn't need to check the bag because I ordered the food and I paid for the food and your server verified my name.. Not until we are home do we realize this isn't our order. Just had FK for the first time and my only suggestion would be to GO TO BOLAY OR BEEHIVE!! The bowl tasted great. So I would give it a 5/5 stars on that. Most toppings that are included at other places cost extra. Annoying but I do not mind spending more for a great experience. However, whoever hires these employees should be fired. Never in a restaurant have I felt so rudely treated, rushed, and ignored by all the workers. At 2:30 on a Sunday, nobody was behind me in line and I was looking for the first time at the menu. Asked several times what I wanted while they built the bowl for the person ahead of me and I asked for more time. Felt super rushed. The entire time asking what I wanted next when still working with another customer ahead of me. Every question my boyfriend and I asked they seemed annoyed to answer but pretty normal for a new customer? Then, someone asked me what additional toppings I want and then ignored me? The guy said "oh I wasn't listening what did you say?" Pretty sure he was just on something because he was seriously in another world. Be on whatever you want but if you can't perform the job then that's a different story. Every employee I encountered was unfriendly and rude. I don't need them to be the most pleasant but don't charge more than every other bowl place from boca to Miami and provide a horrible customer experience. Well despite the not so great reviews on this place I decided to try it since I was already parked in that plaza. Let me start by saying the place is nice and has a decent atmosphere. The help is really friendly the prices are fair. Some of the reviews I'm here say that they give you no food well I got the six bowl and was full when I left. Now for what I think of Fresh Kitchen. I thought the food looked good and I got the sweet potato noodles, the pesto chicken, and the almond chicken. What I thought immediately was is all of the chicken was overcooked and dry. To me that is an amateur mistake. Even more so one piece would be good the next piece will be dry which to me is inconsistent. Also I thought that the flavors of things were off. I mean the sesame Green beans didn't really taste like sesame to me and not to mention they were way undercooked and I can tell they have been sitting around. The Parmesan broccoli was pretty good but it also was off on flavor just didn't really taste the way Parmesan broccoli should. The sauce that I got to put on top was coconut sauce recommended by the checkout girl. It also had a strange flavor. I always keep an open mind when I go to places for the first time and I don't just leave negative type reviews I leave positive ones when they deserved as well. What I think is edit time where Bowl restaurants are popping up everywhere you have to be BETTER. I do not think that fresh kitchen was BETTER at all. The next question I ask myself is would i come back to this place? In the beginning I said I would give it another shot but by the end of my meal it was clear that I would not be returning to Fresh Kitchen. On top of the food of being mediocre one huge turn off for me is there was MULTIPLE FLIES in the restaurant and I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT. Totally gross and that alone would make me not return. As for me I like to think that I know what I'm talking about... After all I've been cooking for 30+ years and I'm currently a food blogger. I'm not trying to be hard on this place I'm just being honest. I am going to try really hard not to compare this place to Bolay across the street. I went knowing it was the same concept and I should judge it on the food not a comparison. However, it fell far short of Bolay. The place is clean and very visually pleasing. Long line at lunchtime. That's fine. Means people like it. When I finally got to the front I ordered a large bowl. I got the sweet potato noodles and quinoa as a base. I like the way they divided between hot and cold. For veggies I got (at first) Brussel sprouts and the Parmesan eggplant. When I tasted the eggplant it was done in a tomato sauce. That wasn't mentioned anywhere. And I didn't realize. I don't eat tomato sauce and was very unsatisfied with this. But I brought it up to the front and they remade the whole bowl for me, no problem. I just wish that have been posted I thought it was eggplant roasted with Parmesan cheese. But I gather it was supposed to be a play on eggplant Parmesan but I didn't get that. Because it said Parmesan roasted eggplant. But they corrected it no problem. As my protein, I got pesto chicken and steak. Both were tasty but nothing extraordinary. I did like that they offered avocado(additional charge) and I put feta cheese on but that was an additional charge. The sauces did not thrill me but this shiracha coconut was interesting. I loved the outside patio. It was large with lots of seating. Very relaxing and nice atmosphere. The food was ok but not great. I hate to compare, but I like Bolay much better. I often try to choose restaurants that are quick and easy and fresh kitchen is just that! I always drive by this place on my way to work and today I finally stopped and went in for a bite to eat. I was super nervous because I was unsure if I would like the options or if they even had anything I would like but it turned out to be so delicious and easy to make a bowl. Then comes the roasted vegetables such as brussels sprouts,broccoli ,mushrooms and many other choices. Now add your fresh hormone and antibiotic free grilled meats. There's barbecue chicken ,buffalo chicken baked chicken ,grilled steak,ahi tuna and a few others. And finally many choices of the sauces and add-ons like guacamole or corn salsa and beans. This was my first time at this restaurant, and I'll definitely be back! I've been looking for healthy alternatives to standard restaurant food without having to resort to the usual salad or bean soup. This really hit the spot. I got the 4-bowl with coconut ginger rice, sweet potato noodles, roasted mushrooms and citrus grilled chicken with creamy ginger sauce. And piña colada tea to wash it down. Everything was delicious. We had an excellent experience at Fresh Kitchen tonight. We order from there on average once a week. We always wish they did curbside but instead they have a quick grab and go by the door which works fine. Tonight, however, Bruno took our somewhat high maintenance order over the phone, held it a half hr to prepare so it would be fresh & hot when we got there & when it was not ready he offered to bring it to our car & gave us a card for a bowl on them next time. On the contrary to many of the negative reviews I read, I think FK is WAY better than Bolay. The staff is much friendlier and they give bigger portions. Every time I eat it it's absolutely delicious. I always get the Four Bowl with sweet potato noodles, quinoa, broccoli and citrus chicken or BBQ chicken with the coconut siracha sauce. Ah-mazing. Just gotta find what you like there's a lot of options. I would eat here everyday if I could afford it.
