Large iced shaken espresso with caramel drizzle and oat milk
Brooklyn C.

I got a large iced shaken espresso with Carmel drizzle and oat milk and my husband got a large iced chai latte. He always gets the egg scramble with ham and Swiss and devours it every time. I had a little cheesecake from here a few months ago and I could tell it was frozen. I'm not sure about the other pastries in the case but I won't be getting the mini cheesecake again. I like the wall of local goods adjacent from the register- lots of good things. The baristas are nice.

Cold brew to go

On the same block as the hamburger Inn is a wonderful bakery and coffee shop called fresh start CafƩ and Bakery. We discovered them quite by accident. Usually, I go to coffee place had been carphology, but the last two trips to Delaware coffee had been weirdly closed or had weird hours leaving us stranded in the city without coffee. We did a yelp search and found that there was a coffee shop less than a block away, which was fresh start cafƩ so we cross the street and walked a half a block to a tiny storefront located in the middle of the block. We walked in and we're completely impressed just from the moment we stepped in. Super clean shop, bright and cheerful big goods displayed in an organized, easy to see manner in two or three large cases. The quality of the baked goods looked excellent. We looked up and there was just so many menu items all easy to read on the menu board that hung on the wall behind the counter. We decided to get some baked goods, a breakfast sandwich and two coffees, and we didn't regret any of it. They were all beyond five stars What did we get you might ask? We got: A bacon egg and cheese biscuit: really high-quality bacon so flavorful very generous amount egg was a fresh egg cracked there cooked their fresh. The perfect amount of cheese on top of a house made biscuit that was a good size and quite flavorful. We wanted to split the biscuit and they even wrapped it in two separate halves outstanding customer service outstanding presentation And just the perfect egg sandwich. In my opinion. Haven't had one better in Columbus area, which I include Delaware in (even though it's not) Then we got a spinach roll and a pepperoni roll to eat later both excellent the pepperoni roll was a little better than the spinach roll, but I bet the spinach roll would've been amazing if I had eaten it there warmed up... I was at a dog show, and I ate it the way they gave it to me, which was out of the case Still delicious We got a cut out cookie. I'm glad I took a bite of it when I first got it cause it was quite excellent, however, it sat in the car, which then got really hot, so the icing didn't do so great after eight or nine hours inside a hot car so I pitched it which was aa tragedy... Because the initial to buy, it were delicious Our coffees I got a pumpkin spice latte half sweet made with soy. It was great. I enjoyed every little tiny drop of it which I usually don't do. I usually drink half and pitch. This was worth every bit of calories. I think my husband got an Americano or a dark drip with cream. I can't remember but his was gone almost by the time we got to the car he said it was excellent. If you're in Delaware, there's three coffee options all within two blocks of each other and I'm telling you this spot... It's the home run. This is where you should end up at. It's perfection.

New Orleans iced coffee

Stopped on a road trip, I really prefer better coffee than what the national chains can offer. This place is fantastic! Our family tried the Chai muffin, salted chocolate chip cookies and the best maple oat scone I've had outside of my own kitchen! The coffee was full bodied and complex. The New Orleans coffee has a deep tangy earthy side, followed by a sweetness that was just the perfect balance. If you are headed to/from Columbus, it's a quick turn off of 23, and there is a public lot in the back with a rear entrance for avoiding parallel parking! Sweet staff who were filling orders with efficiency!

Start your day at Fresh Start! Delicious coffee and beverages! Good selection of food items as well. Fun seating outside and a good place to stop while wandering around downtown Delaware! It is a good spot to get reenergized!

I stopped by to grab a bite. I usually get coffee here and so glad to try their sandwich line up. Each of them sounds unique and you can select either with bagel or biscuit. I got the Club sandwich with biscuit. Club sandwich is always one of favorite and having it with their biscuit just take it to another level. The crust is crisp and cheesy and soft on the inner part. Along with the different classic layer of the Club sandwich. Highly recommended. The also have a full line up of pastry and sweets available. Of course, their coffee menu can't be forgotten. If you happen to be around the Downtown Delaware Ohio area, make sure to check them out.

Popped into Fresh Start for the first time today after breakfast. The sign out front featured Apple pie chai and I just had to try it. The cafe is a nice size and bright, with good seating areas. We were promptly greeted and gave our orders, the service was very fast. If I hadn't already eaten I would have tried one of the amazing looking pastries, but now I have another excuse to come back. The iced apple pie chai was good, but the chai flavor could have been stronger. It looks like they serve Crimson Cup coffee, which is always pretty solid. Glad to have discovered a new little cafe and can't wait to try more of their offerings.

Had a great experience here! I got a stracciatella milkshake and it was to die for. Service was friendly and everything looked delicious. Even got some pup cups for my dogs! Can't wait to try to berry muffin in the morning.

Sausage, egg, cheese SO big biscuit and a smoky New Orleans!

We went to a coffee tasting this morning and had so much fun. We are weekly customers, yet we had not attended one of these free events. We learned a lot about our favorite beverage. We stayed, of course, for breakfast- delicious!

Biscuits and gravy

This is my go to coffee shop as a newer Delaware local. The homemade biscuits are a must try. My husband loves their biscuits and gravy add an egg on top. Service is always friendly!

Peanut butter pie

We stopped here in a cold day to get something warm to drink. I got a slice of peanut butter pie and a chai tea latte with caramel walnut. The peanut butter pie was delicious! The chai tea latte was ok, but I probably should have just gotten a normal one because it was easy too sweet. I would come back again if I were in the area.

Egg and sharp cheddar sandwich on scratch-made biscuit. So good!

I'm new to Delaware and Fresh Start has quickly become my favorite for coffee and breakfast goodies. The environment is cute with a local art gallery in the back for you to browse while you wait for food. Service is friendly and quick. And the scratch-made biscuit sandwiches may be the best biscuit sandwich I've ever had!

Lavender haze
Christina I.

My husband and I brought our two kids (4yo and 1 month old) to celebrate Mother's Day during the week. The staff was super friendly and fast. We had coffee and I got a lavender haze (so good). My husband got a burrito and liked it and I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with strawberries--the pancakes weren't exceptional but they were tasty and our overall experience was really fun.

Apple Cider Cranberry Cupcake
Stephanie L.

Yummy! We popped in for a quick dessert after eating at Restoration. I got an Apple Cider Cranberry cupcake and also a christmas cookie. Both were very good. Prices weren't bad. Normal cupcakes are ~$1.85 and specialty ones were ~$2.65.

In the back is cream cheese cinnamon roll and in front is vanilla glaze and right is hot chocolate cinnamon roll

Best business to come to Delaware in some time. Sticky buns with cream cheese icing and the almond croissants are incredible.

Do you have vegan pastry options on the menu for...say...tomorrow?

No, we don't do any vegan pastries. Sorry.

Are there gluten free options?

Yes. Everyday we do a gluren-free muffin option. We also typically have gluten-free pecan sandies, buckeye bars, coconut macaroons, and energy squares on hand daily. Our energy pack, vitamin pack, protein pack and granola are also gluren-free. We… Read more

The staff are usually local students, who are very nice and treat everyone with a great attitude. The food is great for when you want a small snack with your cold treat! My favorite is the foot long cheese coney dog. And of course fresh hot fries for my kids. Their soft serve is delicious, and doesn't taste "commercial grade" like most of the chain places do. Most of the Corp places we go to upsets my stomach for the rest of the day. Dari Point's Ice Cream is very easy on my stomach, and I love all of the flavor options they have. Everything from rich & decadent to light and refreshing. Try the orange pineapple flavor! Please keep in mind they are still following the COVID health codes, so expect a slightly longer wait that usual. But I've never waited more than 10-15 minutes in their line, even on a weekend. It's worth the wait!!

They serve Johnson's Ice Cream which is made in near by Bexley Ohio. Johnsons has great ice cream if you haven't had it... try it you will love it. I guess here they add googley eyes to the ice cream. I just love that. I didnt get ice cream. I decided to go with a house made cookie. Butterscotch. They're true to their name my cookie was slathered in butterscotch syrup too. So my hands were super sticky! You might want to make sure you have wipes somewhere in the car. (i did). But wow. Great cookie. Wasnt expecting that. Will definitely be back next season. Couldnt find anything wrong. A+

Service is actually the SLOWEST I have had for ice cream. You would've thought they were hand making it themselves back there in real time. I got the blueberry pie and moose tracks flavor. I won't be back, but I wish them the best. This made me a bit sad considering I live in Powell, my parents live down the street and Delaware and my sister's family with a 5 and 8 year old nephew in Delaware as well. This could have been a top place with the family. Not a lot of flavors. Farm house style seating, you will be sitting outside. Nothing special or cute. No decorations. Just an old farmhouse.

In an industrial-park type strip mall, off Maxtown. Nice and open inside, super friendly and helpful staff, plenty of pies on display. Fruit pies, cream pies, and my goal for the day: pot pies. I'd never had theirs, and with cold weather they sounded good. I got a standard chicken (they also have white meat, and chicken with broccoli) and beef. Other options were beef/broccoli/mushroom, I think, and one or two more. They come in small, medium, and large. Small is about what you would get at a grocery. Of course I couldn't resist the sweet pies, but I only got one small one, a win for my health. Coconut cream, for Kid K; I ended up eating half of it, but she loved it too. Pot pies: I got mediums, about 2 servings worth. Very tasty. Sturdy but flaky crust, packed with meat and potatoes and veggies. All pies are in very sturdy boxes. I almost saved one to reuse around the house, they're that good. Definitely will be back. A bit out of my way, and I miss their other locations which were a little more handy for me, but these are worth the detour.
