So far so good. Cute place, lots of decor that looks good, just slightly cluttered on the walls. 10 tables, 9 seat 4 people, 1 seats 8. They have some high ish tables, kinda like bar style, and my 5'3" body can actually reach the foot rest bar on the chair! Yay! They also have a sushi bar area. Maybe 8 seats there? Seems like Vietnamese owned place based on waitress' slight accent, sushi chefs are Asian, they have one small tv by bar area, wine, sake, beer. We're here for sushi: 70, 74, 87, the sea roll with salmon fully cooked (cuz preggers). Had high hopes, but were quickly a little disappointed. Rolls were REALLY small, smaller than we're used to and expected, and the roll with scallops on top had ONE scallop per piece...usually there's a small pile of scallops per piece and the sauce used on that roll in particular was really heavy...pretty sure I felt some heartburn as soon as I swallowed it. We liked 87 and sea roll a lot, but sea roll was too thin to merit 11$...most of the rolls there are 8-9 dollars. Ended up spending 44$ there with tax and tip, probably should've gone to an all you can eat place instead. Not terrible, not great, but probably won't be back. read more

I have been to this place before and the food was great. Today 5/10/23 I went for lunch. I ordered a few different things for me to have leftovers for lunch at work. I ordered an Arizona roll, the chicken teriyaki lunch special and an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls came out first. It was the strangest and most soupy egg roll I have ever had, the vegetables used had zero crunch or flavor. They were so over cooked. The inside of the egg roll was mushy and almost tasted like soup. I only had one egg roll out of the six. My sushi and chicken teriyaki came out quickly and they were so much better than the egg rolls. But the quality that I had today compared to the last time were dramatically different. My server was nice but totally detached from doing his job, he was on his phone constantly. I wasn't able to say anything about the egg rolls until he brought me my bill. I asked to have them taken off because I didn't like them and I only had the one. He informed me that my request was impossible because they there in the system and he couldn't take them off my bill. He stated that the owner refused to put that option in the system. I asked to talk to the owner but he was not in the building. What?! How is this possible that if your food is not edible you still have to pay for it?! I asked the server to let the owner know that I won't be coming back and I also wrote a note on my check for the owner expressing my disappointment. All the more reason to not eat out these days! It's expensive and the quality is not there. Yelp also ask about ambience, there isn't any. After I left the bathroom I used hand sanitizer due to the lack of cleanliness. Don't waste your money here, go where the food is good, service is welcoming and the place is clean. I am not going to give this place any stars. Yelpers are right. The sushi I had was very tasty, and a generous ten pieces. I had the Alaska roll, advertised as a California roll with salmon on top: tasty and creamy, such as I used to see in Hawaii. The sushi proved to be the highlight of our meal. I also had the Meatball Pho. The broth was tasty, but the meatballs were chewy and tough, and the rice noodles were falling apart. Not recommended. Grilled shrimp was meh. Not recommended. Gyoza was okay. Egg rolls were okay, but bizarrely served chinese style with sweet and sour sauce vice fish sauce and veggies, as you would typically find in a Vietnamese restaurant. All-in-all, while the sushi roll was on par with Yelp! reviews, nothing else we ordered was such that makes us want to go back. read more

This is the second time me and my husband come. We got pho, Las Vegas rolls, and salmon and tuna nigiri sushi. The quality of fish is amazing, their salmon was wonderful, fresh and buttery, and their tuna was subtle and very soft. I loved their Vegas roll ~amazing!! The pho and Vegas sushi roll were amazing but we waited an hour to get the food. When we arrived at 11am it seemed like they just opened but we're not prepared for lunch. They only had two people working. Avoid lunch here unless you have two hours. First time going here; have nothing but great things to say. It is very low key, tucked in the corner, "mom and pop" kind of feel place. I love Pho and I love sushi so I had to try this restaurant. They offer your typical range of fare when it comes to Sushi and Vietnamese specialties. This was my first time trying Bun Chay (although not my first style of "Pho") and boy was it amazing. Being a potato heavy dish (white and sweet potatoes) it was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were not mushy and the broth was unique all on its own. It really complimented the ingredients without taking them all on in the broth itself. The spicy tuna salad was also very unique (having Ikura: salmon roe Incorporated into it) and was very pleasurable from both the look and taste of it. Convenient little spot and super delicious. Went on a late evening (5pm) on a Saturday and we were the only ones there, quick service and food came out in record time. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with the food, service, or restaurant. I dont know if all their drinks are cans but the Wife ordered a coke and it was a canned one so that was different--not sure they do refills either? I've only ever ordered takeout here and I've always had great experiences. Fast and easy pickup. The prices are good. The flavors in the vegan Pho Rau broth are really nice. Even before adding in the sauces that they give you on the side. I love that they always give a good variety of sides to add in. Its easy to judge Fresh Sushi Pho by its cover. Its a very small restaurant located inside a strip mall with DSW, Moon Smoke Shop, some salon I've never heard of before, and a flooring company. Its new, and they don't just specialize in Sushi. But its seriously the best thing since sliced bread. I like a lot of different sushi places in Tucson, but with each one I have something I don't like about it (being one of the five options I listed before) but this place has it all. The presentation and quality of the sushi was great, and is easily just as good as any "high-end" sushi place I've been to. The sushi was fresh, just like their name suggests. The price is about half of what you would expect and get from any other local sushi joint. The service was fast, and the waitstaff was kind and helpful with the menu. And its one of the first places that has an AMAZING rice-to-sushi ratio. Usually with cheap sushi, you get a LOT of rice. Even with expensive sushi sometimes, you get a LOT of rice. This place has the perfect ratio going on. The pieces (even the deep fried ones) are just big enough to fit in your mouth with one bite. The perfect size, if you ask me. There's a lot of options for sushi in Tucson, and I've always liked one more than the other depending on what I was looking for that day. But, I'm officially breaking up with all of those sushi restaurants for the well rounded Fresh Sushi Pho. read more

I'd call this place pretty all right. It's a good option when all the members of your party want Asian food but nobody can agree on which country. When our family visited, we sampled it all: sushi, pho, fried rice and even a poke bowl. Nothing was outstanding, but nothing was terrible either. I don't think this place would ever end up in our regular rotation, but it is good for indecisive nights. Everyone can find something they like with the expansive menu. My only notable complaint is that the salmon in both the sushi and poke bowl was so cold it had clearly been frozen before... it had ice crystals still. When I'm eating a slice of raw fish, I want it as fresh as possible. I know that's hard in the desert, but there are other places around town that avoid that previously-frozen taste. read more

Hands down BEST Pho, in Tucson. This restaurant has perfected the food art of Pho. The broth is delicious and makes you feel more than just satisfied; It's like the ultimate soul soup. I had ordered a Dragon roll, Baked Scallop Roll, squid salad. Dragon Roll: they only provided three pieces of eel which any restaurant does, but they didn't warm up OR toast the eel so that it wouldn't be so rubbery. What a waste of money. A sushi chef who can't properly make a dragon roll is less than mediocre. Baked Scallop Roll: Baked sauce on top of the scallops were good, but that's it. They only placed one small baby scallop per piece. C'mon! That screams CHEAP SUSHI from an establishment that is called "Fresh Sushi-Pho". Not even close to being fresh. Oh! I also forgot to mention that the sushi came out when my table was finished with the Pho soup. Meaning- it took the sushi chef, FUCKING 30minutes to make TWO sushi rolls. Pathetic. This is a small mom and pop restaurant with one stop shopping for Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese food, great idea! The sushi was fresh, well presented, and delicious. We ordered two rolls and a Tuna Tataki, the only thing was I kind of expected the Tataki to be served with a ponzu or shaved Daikon but it appeared to be Tuna and sliced cucumber. It was listed under the sashimi section so I understand, but it left something to be desired even though it was very good. The restaurant is small, a variety of tables some taller with very comfy leather seats, a small sushi bar and a large flat screen tv with a soccer match to watch. There was a little bit of confusion with ordering but we got though it and the restaurant started filling up very quickly. The prices are decent, and they just started offering beer and wine. Saw this place the other day and thought it was new. Wandered in tonight while our boys took their karate class next door. So glad we did! The sushi chef, a young and very friendly man, was super welcoming. Place is small and intimate decorated simply but perfect for what it is. Fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Chef's knife work was refined and fast. We had several orders of nigiri and a poke bowl. Everything was well prepared and portioned. This will be a regular spot for us. I'm not exactly sure what it was, minced shrimp? It was as long as & shaped like my middle finger, not shaped like shrimp. I was so excited to see this restaurant show up by me on the east side of Tucson. So far my experience wasn't too good. I ordered their grilled beef sandwich. The old Wendy's commercial popped in my head "Where's the Beef?" I had to check to see if they remembered to put the meat inside. It was a nice size baguette with a tiny portion of meat. I was honestly hesitant on coming here because a place that sells sushi AND pho must not do either really well... but it turns out that they do both pretty ok. Nothing remarkable. The sushi was a little expensive for what you get, but I came from San Diego where it's a little more affordable for amazingly fresh stuff. I got the pho tai, and the broth was waaaaaay too sweet for me. I know a lot of places has to sweeten up some Asian tastes in foods to accommodate for the Americanized taste buds, but I think they went overboard here, but it could be just me. To be honest, I don't like any of the pho I've had in Tucson. I'm a new transplant, but I've been to the top places and I'm not impressed by any of them. The decor is interesting, and it seems family and group friendly. Overall, the place is just ok. Ok so I've been in Tucson for about a year now and I have yet to find a good sushi place, and I Love sushi! Until now. This place is the definition of hole in the wall. I've, literally, never heard of the place until yesterday. I had a good feeling about this place as soon as we pulled up. The place has an old run down feel, kinda like they are probably running some kind of high stakes poker game in the back. But that made me think that the food was even that much better. I ordered the Florida roll, the basic California roll, and the Tucson roll. Some of the best modern sushi I have EVER had. I will probably become a regular here, honestly. They weren't busy at all for a Friday night. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was told I could sit anywhere I wanted. Promptly received a menu and waited only a few minutes for my order to be taken. There were a few customers that were seated ahead of me who had to place their orders. Food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The volcano roll didn't look as I expected. Usually they are deep fried. However, it was exactly as described in the menu. Everything was delicious. The food was phenomenal (so good that I got three quarters of the way through each of the servings before realizing I forgot to take pictures, that's why they're not fill serving pictures ). The cucumber salads I've had in the past have chunks of cucumber which make it kind of hard to eat, especially with chopsticks. However, here they shred the cucumbers into strips which make it easier to eat like noodles. And it has a great nutty flavor! Not too sour! The Las Vegas roll was warm and crunchy, not soggy like some other places. The Combo Poke Bowl had a great clean flavor to it. Not too sweet! Today there were 3 parties there and it took 20 minutes for our order to be taken. The first person ordered a sushi roll and bowl of Pho and we were told the kitchen was short staffed so the order would take awhile. "Sushi" and "Pho" are in the name of the restaurant!
