First & foremost, the owner Manuel is so kind & welcoming. I went here on a Friday night so it was a bit crowded but Manuel was kind enough sitting me (as I was solo dining haha). Came here during cinco de mayo. I didn't know what to expect. But it was bustling. The manager/ owner was outside greeting customers. He was very very friendly. I thought he was a worker or a host to get people to dine inside or take out. Once walking inside it was a bit disorganized. I didn't know if you were supposed to sit first then order from someone or if you order first at the register then sit. But it was a mixture of sitting and ordering at the front and they bring it to your table. Anyways, I ordered the 3 tacos combo - where you choose the meat, cilantro, onion and guacamole sauce. I got the three taco combo for about $11 which is pretty good for NYC. Went with the Al pastor and only waited about 10 minutes before my food was ready. The tacos were packed with meat, loaded with cilantro, and came with plenty of extra salsa and sauces. First bite and I was already in love. The meat was juicy and full of flavor with a little kick of spice and a hint of sweetness. I added more onions myself but honestly the portion was amazing for the price. The Al pastor had that perfect balance of sweet and savory and was even better with the green salsa. That one was pretty spicy and added some extra moisture while the red salsa had a serious kick. Taquerias are single-handedly one of the best things ever, and I'm so glad they're all over Bushwick! :) I ordered the veggie avocado burrito, and it was so filling. The burrito was MASSIVE. It had red and green bell peppers, tomatoes, squash and avocados. It was also filled with beans, rice, pico de gallo, cheese and sour cream. The burrito came out to around $12, which is a little bit higher in price point. However, this is New York after all. I didn't take a picture of the inside of the burrito, because trust me, it didn't look appetizing. I promise it was delicious though! Definitely ask for the green and avocado sauce! Both aren't spicy, but they add extra flavor. The cashier was super nice. The service was great. Nothing fancy for a taqueria. The prep time is a but longer, but I wanted to note that there was only one chef. So, you have to be patient, because it's truly out of everyone's control.
