HOWEVER - sometimes they add an 18% automatic gratuity and sometimes they don't. I've noticed that they typically add it if you're sitting at the bar or during busier times, but I'm not sure if there's a clear rule on this. I get it - they work hard here and the servers don't want to get stiffed by folks who have had a few drinks. It's clearly stated on the receipt, so it's not like they're trying to hide the charges. Either way, make sure that you double check the first receipt that they give you when they bring the check, since the final receipt (the standard one where you sign and tip) isn't itemized. Don Tequila is a reliable neighborhood spot, with great food and drinks. There are ways around most of the things that other reviewers have complained about. Only the back portion of the restaurant is pet free. I may people upset but I will continue to say it - I am a dog and pet lover, but they do not belong in restaurants!
