I have visited Fresh Thyme on Lindbergh numerous times. I have had a wonderful shopping experience every time. The workers there are all very kind and helpful. Multiple food products there are definitely one of a kind. Things that cannot be purchased anywhere else. Small shopping store; however, packed with so many wonderful products. I definitely will continue to shop at Fresh Thyme whenever I am in the area. I am partial to the location on Lindbergh. I've been to another location and it was not as appealing to me. Went there to get eye of round on sale 5.99 # also a bag a shrimp on sale 13.98 2#13-15 . I got the shrimp did not get eye of round asked the butcher if they had anymore. He said you did not see them I said no can you bring more out. He then said if you did not see them were out. Michelle Robinson the store manager is very discriminatory against anyone with any disability. They hired me knowing I had a visual impairment and I overheard her saying "why would you let me hire someone this f**king blind?" She then wrote me up without ever speaking to me or anyone telling me what I did wrong. She did nothing but speak poorly about me and my vision. I am reporting this to HR because this company is terrible to employees with any form of dis ability and the communication is nonexistent. read more

Just left the South County Fresh Thyme location and had the worst experience. First off: nothing open but self checkout. This is not ideal for your handicapped guests. But whatever. We needed a gift card, which you cannot get through self checkout. At one of the traditional lanes there was a woman standing by herself and we asked "Are there any traditional lanes open? We need a gift card" The woman was extremely dismissive and rude "Not until she gets back from break." She didn't even look up. And we asked "Well what should we do?" And she just walks away without saying anything. Finally comes back and took this poor girl off her break to check us out and get us a gift card. The girl she took from her lunch was fine and courteous. But as we're getting checked out, they start turning other people away from the traditional checkout. Yelling at them to use the self checkout too. The rude woman then snidely remarks "Welcome to the future". This was the last straw for us. We asked to speak to a manager. This rude lady WAS THE MANAGER. Her name: Sarah. Extremely extremely rude. Sarah kept saying snide things to another employee who randomly appeared out of nowhere and who had no idea what had previously occurred and was just blindly sticking up for this rude manager. When we asked for corporates number she yelled "Google it! I don't know it, I'm new. We don't get paid enough here and we're short handed!" she can certainly run her mouth about a situation she has no clue about and she can stand around and be rude with her manager, but neither one can run a register? All for a gift card. As a manager you have to take one of your employees away from their break? Legit. The manager was rude for absolutely no reason right from the getgo. So we just matched her level. All she had to say was "I'm sorry, we're busy and short staffed right now and our cashier is on lunch, is there something I can help with?" How hard would that have been? Someone with absolutely zero people skills shouldn't be working with the public ESPECIALLY as a manager. Sarah is the Scrooge of Fresh Thyme. I completed understand the plight of working retail during the holiday season and not making a living wage. I get it. But my god, especially as a manager...legit just be a normal level of courteous. BAD Meat! Just bought meat from Des Peres store. I purposely asked the woman behind the meat counter to make sure the chicken was fresh because it had an odd coloring to it. I'm an aisle type of shopper. I hate to wander but this store is designed to do just that. If you aren't a fan of Trader Joe's or Aldi set-up, then this store isn't for you. Fresh produce but a bit smaller than I thought it would be. I'd much rather hit Lucky's if I want the same store configuration. Canned tuna for about $3 a can?! No, thanks. I did buy some, they were on sale for about $2.50-ish but I couldn't tell the difference between these cans and the ones for $1 on sale at Schnucks or Dierbergs. Not your place for everyday essentials unless you enjoy overspending on your dailies. I don't. I can say, if you need random things you can't find elsewhere then try Fresh Thyme and they might just carry them! They also have some great selection of fresh produce and yes, I think they might be slightly better than other grocery stores in this department. They have things you can buy in whatever quantity you want (rice, grains, flour of different types, candies, chocolates, dried nuts, coffee, etc) but I'm not sure if you're necessarily saving money in the long run. They have nicer meat selection, I will give them that as well. Would I return? Sure. I'm pretty confident there will be a time I'll need something from here. read more

I LOVE the fact that this spot is here in South County and close to home! I've been able to visit several times now, and I'm a happy shopper! The store is clean and has a great variety of food and non-food items. I am impressed overall with the store, but they still have some inventory issues to work out -- some empty shelves on a few staple items I was looking for, and one item where the whole shelf of product looked defective (non-dairy mayo had separated). I chalk that up to them trying to figure how much to keep in stock and when to re-order. I have no doubt they'll iron that junk out, and this 3 Star will go to a 4 Star review. I love the fried bulk self-serve on coffee, nuts, grains, seeds, olive oils, vinegars, and grind your own almond or cashew butter! I also love their fresh squeezed juices and produce selections. Everything is great quality! They also have a nice selection of personal health products - from supplements to natural OTC meds, to shampoos and conditioners, etc. I also have to admit that their alcohol aisle made me happy dance. I didn't know they also sold that, and the selections were decent. So, it's nice to have that option. Prices were right on target for the health foods, specialty products, and organic / vegan / natural foods, in my opinion. It isn't as pricey as that Whole (other) Foods store. I'll keep going back! Visited Fresh Thyme on Dec. 16th. Pleasant store, well lit and laid out in an efficient manner. I'd describe this as a cross between Aldis and Trader Joe's. Prices seemed very reasonable especially on fresh meat and deli items. Their bakery section features artisan breads, bagels, muffins, and other assorted pastries. There was lots of produce choices and prepared foods like sushi and chicken pot pie. I purchased a Fresh Thyme chicken pot pie for $6.99. It was delicious! Served 3-4 people and was easy to heat on the oven. My other purchases included their bacon, blueberry muffins and cheese. So far I'm very satisfied with Fresh Thyme! read more

On many occasions, I have driven buy this location before this store was built and opened. When the St. Louis County Library closed the Tesson Ferry branch which is where this store is located, I was upset because the Library closed, and they tore down the library building. Then a sign that said, "Coming Soon: Fresh Thyme Farmers Market," was put up on the property facing Lindbergh. After I saw that, I wasn't so upset anymore because several stores where I go shopping are other locations of Fresh Thyme Farmers Market. We got one in Terre Haute along with the one in Manchester and in Kirkwood if I am in the area and need something. This location is a typical Fresh Thyme store and has all the same type of departments in similar locations of all the other stores where I have gone shopping. The people are friendly and helpful; the produce section always looks gorgeous with everything arranged how they do it. The checkouts are set up like the other Fresh Thyme stores. The clerks who work there can be friendly sometimes and standoffish sometimes. It depends upon who is there when I'm there. I think that it's like that at all the other stores, too. So sometimes, I wonder if they don't like their job, are having a bad day or just jerks. Doesn't matter because I like the store and will go back when I am in the area and need something. read more

Inconsistent. Out of stock on so many items it's not worth even going. Check out has 8 lanes, one of which was open. A second lane was operating with the light off and closed sign up, confusing customers deliberately. Offered no apology for their mess of a store. Didnt care that people cut in line because they cannot even flip a switch to turn on a light to signal the lane is open. Then wonder why customers get confused and angry. Mason jar lights suck. Your closed sign at the end of the register signaled to me that your lame was closed, so i went to a different lane while other people got to cut in line and go to the closed register. Maybe close your store until you can be even the slightest bit consistent. read more

I love their seafood selection and their bulk section. They have a few special items that I like to get there as well, such as some premade vegetarian items. However, they are out of AT LEAST one very common item every trip. Ironically, they very rarely have fresh thyme in stock... Also, for being a "farmers market" some of their vegetables are terrible quality. I have gone there many times looking for something as simple as a bell pepper or zucchini only to find that they only had two or three sad, shriveled ones. I asked a manger about this continuing lack of stock about two years ago and was told they were still working out some kinks, being a new store (at this point they had been open over a year). However, if anything, it has gotten worse. Even giving some leniency due to Covid, the quality and selection is worse than just about any other store in the area. If Trader Joe's were closer to me, I would literally only shop at FT for the bulk items. Also beware- The outrageous prices for everyday items are second only to Whole Foods. read more

OK it says to take the Covid pandemic into consideration when doing your review I am . there was absolutely no control in the store whatsoever besides the fact that everybody had a mask on. there wasn't one person on the floor directing the movement of people there was absolutely zero social distancing one person right on top of another blocking the isles blocking meat counters produce two and three family members per cart there was forward traffic backward traffic and I guarantee you the store was overcapacity I was dismayed and disgusted I haven't been in there since March I don't know if I'll ever go back. I have not been in any store that was that out-of-control and chaotic since I've gone back to a store on occasion in the last month no place have I seen that was just so overwhelming. read more

The selection is halfway decent (they don't carry the kind of milk I drink) and there's lots of neat things there. But I won't be back. Recently I went BACK to Fresh Thyme after visiting another grocer close to my home for a while... Fresh Thyme really isn't that far, but we get lazy and we go to wherever we can get to as fast as we can and get out of there because of Covid....What I didn't realize was how much I had been missing!You don't have to worry about produce that's been sitting there too long and thats because the produce is so fresh it sells quickly. The meat dept. no matter what you buy is so fresh and definitely tastes better..If you are health conscious as I am, I never met a chicken that wasn't perfect. You need to take a few minutes out of your busy life and go to Fresh Thyme, Lin Ferry in South County. Because of Covid I started the delivery at home service ..Best idea I ever had.. The people from Instacart are very, very responsible and respectable. I heard that very soon they're going to have Drive Up, if you are in a real hurry. I'm very sad that I have to give this location such a low review but it is what my honest thoughts. Tonight an employee chose to show her ugly side, My friend and I had gone in to the store to shop around and see what's new and interesting we had gone in looked around for a little when all of the sudden there was a large crashing sound so we had gone to the other side of the store to see what was going on, we then see a huge amount of bottled honey on the floor, we looked seen a worker going to clean it and we continued to the check out we get to the check out and are in line be hide an older women and had a few people when all of the sudden "Rebecca" comes up to the counter and yells at me and my friend saying that we are rude to have knocked down the honey and not pick it up. WE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT HONEY FALLING. Then she goes to say she has us on video knocking it down and when we asked to see this such video she walked away. I am not the one to pick a fight but when I am accused of doing something wrong when I did nothing that's gets to me. So I ask to speak to a manger "Scott" he never shows up then Rebecca comes up and says Scott has left the building and that she is manager so we had left and called little to find out Scott was there and Rebecca had lied to my face. She is absolutely the most disrespectful and rude employee that I have ever met. As for the manager he didn't seem to care and was acting like it was no big deal that his staff is running around yelling at customers in front of other customers. Very impressed! I went here today to pick up lunch after hearing that they had a good selection of ready to eat items. The salad bar was fresh, stocked, and had everything I wanted, including Kalamanta olives which are usually harder to find on a salad bar. I got a salad and a cup of soup. As I wondered around the store I was impressed with the blackberries for $.77/pack and got quite a few, as well as the bulk liquids and dry foods. Really, they are "all Natural" but if you want antibiotic free non gmo, those are $3.99 per pound? Thought about buying some ribs and a pork but while at Dierbergs but needed to go to Fresh Thyme for some fruit on sale. Decided to get it at Fresh Thyme -- SURPRISE, SURPRISE, Fresh Thyme was $1 per pound more expensive than Dierbergs. I usually cut chicken breasts into chicken tender sizes strips. Last several packages of chicken breasts bought there, when cut into tender size strips, found extremely bloody veins that dripped blood. Obviously, chickens had not been allowed to bleed long enough before packing. QUALITY HAS SLIPPED TREMENDOUSLY on all meats and veggies since Lucky's is no longer around that they need to compete with. When the cost of antibiotic free non gmo meat is cheaper at Dierbergs or the same price, I much prefer Dierbergs. GREED CAN BE COSTLY TO ANY COMPANY. read more

I really like this store! Their weekly specials are great and the broad selection of bulk items that customers can dispense on their own is much appreciated. Produce is nice looking and fresh and they carry a good choice of organic but still affordable pantry items. The bakery isn't my favorite and unless the breads are still freshly crusty, I pass. My biggest complaint is the deli counter. Good grief, it's so slow! When my trips start with a 10-15 minute wait to get a pound of Boar's Head turkey and 1/2 pound of cheese, I'm already annoyed by the time I get to the rest of my shopping. The counter staff is friendly and helpful but painfully slow with no second gear when store volume picks up. Sometimes I wait and sometimes I don't. But I'd never bother with Schnucks again if FTFM would sort out the deli. read more

Unbelievable difference between this location and the Manchester store. When we shop at Manchester we're greeted and treated like friends coming by to visit. Everyone in the store seems eager to help in any way. At the South County store we were pretty sure we were an inconvenience to the ladies in the meat dept who were much more interested in their conversation then serving customers! Seriously, stood for several minutes before they spoke then had to repeat my request because she zoned out. The store is not as well-kept and the cashier definitely let us know that she was much too busy to greet us, smile or really even to have to deal with customers at all.
