I LOVE Dierberg's. It's high end quality but without the expensive prices........to ME. I know some people fell Dierberg's is expensive but I fell the prices are comparable some of the other grocers. If you want to talk expensive, then we can talk about Straub's..........on another day. This location is nicely stocked, not my first choice to visit but it'll do when I'm in the area, it's convenient to dip in and out for my grocery needs. They have plenty of parking and they're always jumping. During the holiday season they are funny. When it's time to close the manager gets on the loud speaker and makes these funny announcements every 5-10 minutes, basically letting customers know they are closing on time and the employees have families to get home to as well. I completely understand that. Also, there is usually a tree lot during the Christmas season. They offer a good selection of produce. I like the homemade Dierberg's items across from the deli counter. They have a cute little seafood area in the back of the store towards the middle, very small but able to meet your needs. The frozen food/dairy section is good as well. read more

If there was an award for the best playlist at a grocery store, this Dierbergs would get it! I love the music that they play here and they play it a little loud which makes it even better. You kind of get lost in it while you're doing your shopping if you're by yourself. Often I have found myself starting to sing to a song and then I realized oh shoot, there's people around, you're at a grocery store. But seriously, this Dierbergs is great. Bland, overpriced food. Done wasting my money here. Also, they use clearly near expired produce for the salad bar (lettuce/spinach is ALWAYS wilted) yet charge a hefty $10 per lb. They've added a nice addition to their deli and prepared food, Bob's Signature Smokehouse BBQ. It may not be Pappy's or Bogart's, but it is damn good for quick meal. They've got Baby Back Ribs, Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork or Chicken, and Turkey Breast. You can also get Smoked Salmon and a Whole or Half Chicken. We've tried the 1/2 Rack Baby Back Ribs and Beef Brisket. The meat fell off the bones and the brisket will have me going back for more. They offer eight different signature sides, but we made our own at home. You can see the smoker as you enter the store, it sits right out in the parking lot. If you don't notice it, chances are you'll smell the apple and cherry wood that they are slowly smoking the meat over. read more

I don't often shop at Dierbergs, but last night I was in the mood to pick up some ready-made items and this is the place to get some of the best prepared foods I know of. They also have a very nice olive bar and sald bar. The salad toppings are fresh and refilled often. They have all sorts of items ready to heat up and eat. I selected some appetizer items; mac & cheese bites, chicken wings, mozz sticks, etc. These are going to come in handy when celebrating NYE. I also picked up some pita chips and soda; the store is clean and organized well. The workers are helpful and friendly. Since I don't often shop here I was a bit turned around, but it was nice to browse the aisles and see what other fun items I could buy. This will continue to be my go-to spot for prepared foods, cheeses and snacks when I want to be fancy. read more

I go to 2 of their locations - North County, Hwy 67 and Brentwood locations. I love their stores for their variety of products, excellent customer service, produce, meat section & deli. I've noticed they have excellent value in high-end meat cuts, products & in-house specialities. The sushi gentleman was so very courteous to create a sushi of cuts of seafood only. I shop at Trader Joe's for price, speciality products & wine. Whole Food's for their organic & no preservatives selection. But, I always end up finishing our list of weekly must-haves at either Dierbergs for their detail of variety of products! read more

Because both my beloved stores quit carrying the Chinese Hot Oil I needed for a well-used recipe. Grrr. This Dierbergs didn't have it, either, but Teresa (the assistant manager) checked & said every other Dierbergs in town carried it so I could get it today. Then she asked how soon I needed it. When I replied "this afternoon", she called another employee who lives by another store and who was coming in later to PICK UP A BOTTLE & DELIVER IT IN to my neck of the woods! Are you kidding me?!?? I've had 2 negative experiences in a row in the last week at this location, on Monday i bought two packages of Dierbergs ground beef that look fresh and were not expired only to find that once I had opened both packs for dinner they both smelled rancid. The deli employees are also rude. read more

This location has always been the castoff of the Dierbergs family of stores. Less engaged employees, broken down self-checkouts, a worse layout, frequently sold out of items, rude deli workers, and so on (none of which I notice at the Brentwood location a few miles up the road, FWIW). I had some home that the location would improve after a taxpayer-funded $5 million makeover. But my hopes were dashed. In what has to be the most poorly-executed, haphazard remodeling effort ever, this store just makes no sense anymore. It's atrocious. The customer service area is now a bizarre little island in the middle of the store, littered with returned milk bottles, crates, and various other items scattered about. In what used to be the large floral area is now a weird mix of diapers and greeting cards; a complete waste of space that looks like a downmarket dollar store rather than an upgraded Dierbergs. The front has a weird seating area festooned in 80s-era fake brick. It just looks so out of place. Nothing makes sense here. Whoever implemented this design should be ashamed. It literally made this store worse. And really nothing in my previous review has changed. I'm just shaking my head that they got CID money to "improve" the store in this way. read more

My one star rating is based solely on the recent quality of cut flowers. I've purchased many cut flowers from area grocers. Recently, the quality and longevity of several different types of cut flowers has been very poor at Dierbergs. I have brought this to the attention to the store and corporate office to no avail. This is my go to Dierberg's for overall grocery needs. Carries my favorite selections of produce (sometimes locally grown), meats, and other essentials. Sometimes Dierberg's is pricier than other chains, but I think it's worth it for their quality items and a relaxing environment. Sometimes items are on sale, too. This Dierberg's is in my former neighborhood and I have always liked it. It's like where South City and South County meet. It's clean and the selection is nice. It's not a big West County Dierberg's but it gets the job done. I stopped on a Wednesday morning and picked up 3 prepared lunches for work for the week. I really liked an entrée called gochujang chicken. It didn't have much gochujang in it but it was very good. I will be back! read more

What I love about this Dierberg's is that their healthy snack food section is big! I finally found some unique "healthy" chip options that I've been looking for. Also, their overall presentation is brighter and prettier. They have the feel up being more upscale with out the pretentiousness of somewhere such as Straub's. However, what I don't like is that the upscale feel is covered in their prices. On average, I found them to be a little bit more expensive than competitiors. And this may just be me, but I hated their price tags! Anything on sale had a price tag with 4 numbers on it. The regular price, the sale price, the discount percent, and the amount saved. Last time I was here I stopped the manager on duty and told her how awesome her staff are, even at 9 a.m. You can ask anyone anything, and if they don't know they go find out, but most of the time they know the whole store very well. The meat is great, as is the produce. The yellow dot sales are great for stocking up. I like this store, but dont buy my ALL my groceries here, only something I need last minute because everything is a bit over priced! Usually only get produce there. Dierbergs here at Mackenzie point also serves the St Louis community as what could be an extended branch of a retirement home. Never have you a place where the preferred form of payment is making out checks! If you use a debit card you might be considered weird over there. Yeah, I've gotten weird looks, um its 2013 not 1983 people! I feel generally pretty good here because I feel like I am doing community service here shopping around with all the old folks; hey I'm doing my part OK... You will find yourself waiting like 20 minutes in line while grandma makes sure to bring all 150 coupons with her. The Dierbergs in Brentwood is a little bit more hip. I have lived in STL my whole life and could never quite wrap my head around the other grocery stores. Dierbergs has been where I've shopped the whole time. I've gone to local competitors and they just feel wrong. The more expensive national chains don't do much for me. Mostly I just get some produce and maybe some meat, seafood, or dairy anyway, not a lot of prepackaged stuff, but it's nice to have stores like Dierbergs around. read more

I have been shopping at this store for almost 20 years, and I used to love it. I used to drive past several stores with better prices that were closer to my house to get to this Dierbergs because the service and layout were so good. That all changed in the past 12 months. Their new layout is terrible. What genius decided to change the entrance so that it's no longer wide enough for people to come in and out at the same time? Even worse, now you have to play a game of Red Rover when you enter, hoping that exiting shoppers don't run over your toes while you try to dodge through them to get to the carts. Having to stand in line at the express checkout to get a lottery ticket, then go back in to do your shopping, is a joke. And the service has gone way downhill. They're still competent, but they used to range from polite to really friendly, now they range from curt to rude. I have stopped going out of my way to go to this store. I did give them an extra star for how well they've handled the pandemic. read more
