Unfortunately, the broth was extremely salty, and when I bit into one of the wontons it felt like I bit into a bone, which was very unpleasant. I also ordered sticky rice with mango, but the rice wasn't sweet and the mango didn't taste sweet either, which was disappointing. The egg roll ended up being the only thing anyone in my home actually ate. I also had to ask for sauce, so make sure you check your bag before leaving to ensure you have everything you need. Parking lot and inside always deserted, but I decided to give it a try. Got sushi roll and Thai tea. Tea was good but cup is too big doesn't fit in a car holder and sushi had a revolting smell that made me sick without even getting close to it. I opened the container and almost threw up. Update: I have now ordered from fresh wok at least 5 times. I have found there is a lot of inconsistency in the food and quality of food. For example the first two tone I ordered drunken noodle I love it, thought it was good enough to stand up to most Thai restaurants. The third time it was so unbelievably overcooked that the noodles turned to mush/paste as I tried to pick them up with a fork. It was awful, gummy and weird, the worst drunken noodle I've had. The first two times and the fourth time I ordered Tom yum soup it was yummy! The third order I received it was weird... like they mixed 1/2 Tom yum with 1/2 Tom Kha. Maybe they were running out of Tom yum and topped it off with Tom kha? I dont know, it wasn't so great. Most of the time I order food from here my stomach gets upset the next day, not too surprised but the last time my stomach was pretty bad, like more than I should have been from just a little greasy egg roll or something. ...and we're back! FW has been closed for somewheres about 12 months. Today they finally reopened. I decided they deserve a second chance, so I stopped in late in the afternoon. Looking around, it looked like the same old FW. So I asked, "What has changed?" The man told me they got unfired. Huh? I thought perhaps he meant a change in personnel. Nope. Apparently they had a significant fire about a year ago. Not so noticeable in the dining room, but lots of damage (and repairs/refitting) in the kitchen. He said the floor is new, but not much else that I would see. Okay, so I placed my order: - Egg Roll - small Hot & Sour Soup - small Pork Lo Mein Ten minutes later I'm on my way home. At home, first the Egg Roll. With mustard. Super good. I think I could have eaten 3 of those. Then the Hot & Sour Soup. With homemade crispy noodles. Very, very good. And Pork Lo Mein. I've never had PLM bad enough to throw out, but this may be a first. Ill flavor, and tastes like it was prepared yesterday. Fresh Wok made a medium good first impression (again). The dough was made fresh and the dipping sauce was sweet with a small kick and the dumplings was a nice size . I ordered pork fried rice with general Tso chicken ! AGAIN made fresh ! My chicken was nice and crispy . They was not stingy with the sauce nor the portion ! My pork fried rice and big pieces of pork in it , it was not like the diced of pieces of pork , it was really nice size pieces of meat in my rice which I loved . My son order chicken lo mein and he really liked it , he could not finish it because it was a huge portion . I didn't taste it but from watching him eat he really liked it . My husband order Hunan chicken extra spicy with a side of jumbo chicken wings . I'm assuming my husband really likes his dish because he cleaned his plate lol . And when they said jumbo chicken wings they really meant jumbo ! They was nice and crunchy . Overall I would definitely visit again ! And i need others to as well !!!! Traveling for work in the Richmond, VA area. Staying at a hotel with room service but figured I'd get out for a bite to eat. I will say I looked hard to find somewhere that wasn't a McDonald's or other fast food joint as I like to eat a decent meal. I stumbled upon Fresh Wok as the sign kind of stands out in the outdated shopping center it is in front of. The place is quiet. I believe I was the only customer at the time. The owner or manager had her child there studying. Not atypical to me as I grew up in the Asian culture and this is a norm for this heritage. I ordered the Gyoza for an appetizer and the double dragon for entree. The gyoza was actually pretty good. Very fresh as it burned my mouth upon first bite. I am half Japanese so I was skeptical about ordering them as my mom prepares these at home and they're delicious. It is supposed to be pan seared on the bottom and steamed on top. These are more like a three sided pan fried gyoza. Still pretty good though. The double dragon was beyond filling, enough to share for two. It was half chicken and the other half shrimp and vegetables. Shrimp was cooked correctly and not overly rubber as if over cooked. The sauces both meats were in tasted delicious. I would come back again as it was a nice freshly prepared dinner around the airport. The area fresh wok is in may not be amazing but worth a few minute trip to grab lunch or dinner before heading to the airport or if you are staying around the airport. Kudos to this place for being the ONLY open chinese takeout place during the COVID pandemic nearby. We were craving general tso and some noodles so that's exactly what we got. The general tso's chicken was decent, but could have used a lot more sauce- there wasn't enough for my rice to roll around in! The pork in the pork lo mein was tender, but the noodles itself could have used some more oomph. And the fried rice was takeout grade fried rice- salty and bad for our cholesterol. Randomly, we got a roll of salmon sushi and crab rangoon because it seemed cheap and we got what we expected. This establishment is conveniently located directly across from my job. The name doesn't speak volumes. The food didn't seem very fresh to me. I definitely feel mislead. Let's start with the gyoza that was very similar to a pasta hot pocket. It was fried hard on one side and slimy on the other. The outer shell was very thick and it was almost inedible. I was highly disappointed that I wasted my calories on 2 of them. I ordered the General Tso's chicken lunch special. It came with fried rice and an egg-roll. The fried rice was bland and the General Tso chicken had a weird after taste. The chicken was soggy, sweet and greasy. It made me groggy. I wanted to love this place. I wanted 9mile to finally have something other than McDonald's and Bojangles, but this isn't it. I love Thai, Chinese and Japanese cuisine, but this restaurant is an insult to great Asian restaurants. Hopefully, it will get better with age. On a lighter note. I shared my lunch with 4 of my students and their underdeveloped palates were appeased. So maybe they will become lifelong customers, since they are within walking distance. read more

After reading some of the other reviews, I must say I am surprised. I've ordered from there several times and the food is always hot & fresh when it arrives. I do agree they had some trouble with the website at one point but it's actually a 3rd party site that services many other restaurants. It has been updated recently and works better now. I haven't gone into the restaurant itself yet so I can't speak to the seating or on-site service. I also haven't called in my order since I prefer to use the online method, so I can't speak to that either. The portions are huge and we usually split our meals in half and freeze it for another time. Once I asked for the steamed brown rice instead of fried rice and they did it without any grief whatsoever. A lot of places flat out say "no substitutions" so I was happy they did that for me. I'm sorry to read that other people had less than satisfactory experiences but I, for one, have had great success ordering online and the food is good. read more

Since I just moved back to VA I had find a good Chinese place . Luckily I found it on my first try. The first time I went I ordered general tso shrimp and it was so good. They could've put more broccoli in this dish. The second time I ordered delivery but it was way too cold outside. I ordered jumbo shrimp with vegetables and I was dis there was about 6-7 shrimp in my entire medley then the veggies were more on the soggy side rather than crunchy and that's why I took away a start. I spent a lot on that delivery because you have to meet the minimum plus the delivery fee and tip. read more
