I love this place! They have so many varieties at discounted price and everything is fresh and antibiotic free! Everyone is so kind and helpful as well, answering all my questions about different cuts of meat and how to cook certain types of vegetable. I also love that they have a little food vending area between the meat and produce and they sell turkey legs for $5! I've been meaning to come here for a while and finally made it on a Sunday morning. The parking lot was busy, but I was able to find a spot. Just be aware when pulling out of spots, as there are cars everywhere. The produce all looked very fresh and colorful. I was enjoying tossing random fruits and veggies into the cart. The prices were very affordable. The meat side of the store was packed. There were people and carts everywhere which made it alittle awkward to move my way through the store. People's carts were so full of meats. I have never seen stocking up like that, even at Costco. I purchased chicken tenderloins for $2/pound which is a great deal to me. I cooked them and they were so tender and juicy. The chicken tasted way better than what I purchase at the mainstream grocery stores. Kind of makes me really think about what I've been eating. I will be returning for sure. I just wish there was a market like this closer to Dr. Phillips. Trader Joes and Whole Foods don't compare. read more

I'd actually have to make a pros and cons list to determine if I prefer a farmer's market to Freshfield-it's that easy and affordable. The store is divided into two completely different sides. One for the produce and one for the meats. We buy a pretty decent amount of produce and make it out for under $40 on a heavy week. Amazing! My boyfriend has a possibly diagnosable meat addiction and we get out of that section for $60-$70 most trips. It would cost about $200 to let him have his way with Publix. This place is amazing! I cannot say enough good things about it! The food it great quality but inexpensive with a wide variety of options to choose from! I love how easy it is to get in an out of each section (meat and fruits/veggies) even on a busy afternoon. Word to the wise, go early if you're going to go on a Sunday because if you go anytime after 3pm there's little to no chicken left. their Bacon-Wrapped Steaks are amazing one of my favorite things they offer but everything is delicious. You know those Walmart commercials where they tell you to bring in your Publix receipt to compare... do it HERE! Talk about fresh, delicious and such a lovely experience. They buy directly from the source which eliminates distribution trucks and warehouses. It gets to you quicker and is truly fresh! I have to add the given: "How have I lived here 12 years and not been here before?" Yes, this week was my first trip but FAR from my last. Layout: Fruits & Veggies to the left, Ice cream and hot dog stand in the middle and Meats and Fish to the right. Both are separate and you have to shop at them one at a time. When you enter the produce side you will see a sign greeting you with what is Organic and Local...WIN! I promise I have never seen such a gorgeous, amazing array of beautiful fruit, veggies and spices before. There is also local eggs, juice and honey along with various other items. This is not a full grocery though. Also, the staff was awesome and super quick and attentive. I took home the following for only $25!!!!! Yes, $25: Oranges (Huge ones) Peaches (Huge ones) Grapes (Yes, huge ones!) Bananas Strawberries Cucumbers (Not so huge but great) Onions Cauliflower (Huge) Local Honey I also ran into the other side to grab some seafood and so glad I did. Freshly cut Salmon, entire sides... yeah a huge Salmon for only $6 a side. $12 total for an entirely cut Salmon. It was delicious! Love Freshfield Farm. They always have great, fresh and inexpensive produce items to load up on. The Meat/Butcher side has some great cheeses too. I go and stock up at least once a month if not more. The hardest part is trying to walk by the food window outside. They serve quite a few items, including some great tasting smoothies and ice cream and turkey legs - every time I say I'm going to have one of the legs and then get sidetracked by the ice cream ;-) read more

I came in on Sunday, the day before Memorial Day and it was packed. It was definitely my mistake lol There were a very big variety of choices of produce and meats. What I really liked is that each price tag had the place of origin where each item came from.The prices are very reasonable and definitely cheaper than Publix or Wallmart. Their Produce and Meat are in two different places, which is nice. Make sure you try their Ice cream. My friend and I tried vanilla ice cream with strawberry and it was delicious. I would write more about the store but it was so busy I did not have much time to explore and walk around. This place is amazing, and the only place I will by my meat and produce. Located in a building that looks like a barn, it's split into to halves. On one side you buy all your produce - much of which is locally sourced. You can also purchase eggs and orange juice on this side. The other side is all the meat, and it's incredibly fresh and again mostly locally sourced. They have a deli counter with fresh cuts and deli meats, and offer a pretty decent selection of seafood as well. Between the two stores if a small walk up window to buy ice cream sundaes or turkey legs. I absolutely love this place, and the prices are incredible. My only 2 gripes are: 1. parking can be a pain sometimes 2. they don't sell milk , bread, butter, etc - so I cannot get all my shopping done in one location. I usually end of leaving here and going to Publix across the street for all my other essentials. However, that just shows how much I love this place that I'm willing to make 2 stops. read more

How have I missed "yelp'ing" about Freshfields Farm before? I have been visiting this place on and off for three years now, as it is a bit of drive for me, but maaaannnnn, is it worth it. Saying this, if you have never been before, you need to be in the right mindset. It is small. It is crowded. It is worth it. Meditate before you go and your wallet and stomach will be happy you did. First things first, this place tends to always be busy and hectic. Once you see the prices and selection of quality food, you will understand. So, know this, parking is a *bleep*. Many people park outside of the parking lot because it is tight and you have to hunt for someone leaving to get a spot. Its okay ... don't let this deter you. Secondly, there are two sides/stores to enter. One side (the left side) only sells produce, some beans, eggs and nut butters. There will be a mix of organic and conventional in here. If you are like me, anything with a soft exterior, I purchase organic. I usually pay handsomely for this preference at Whole Foods and Publix (actually, Publix is more expensive than Whole Foods.) Regardless of the other store prices, I can find organic selections at Freshfield for half of what I pay at other grocery stores. HALF! Sometimes less! Oh the humanity! So, when I go, I know I'm going to buy massive amounts of what I can, take them home immediately and freeze what I know I can't eat quickly. You pay when you exit, of course, but then I head over to ... the other side. The other side ("the right side") ... this is where you will find all kinds of affordable meats. Not only are they affordable, as with the produce side, you can find good quality animal protein that is grassfed, wild caught, no hormones, etc. They have the lot. Again, I buy the lion's share as I can get twice as much or more for my hard earned dollar than the equivalent of other grocery stores. As it already packaged, its an easy freeze that was easy on my wallet as well. I also feel good about my meat purchase here because if I can buy more "well treated - the grassfed, no cages, wild caught animal protein", then my dollar is also talking to the farmers voting for more well treated/healthier options. I have friends that live farther than I do, (its about a 25-30 minute drive for me) and I tell them to bring cooler because they will want to buy "big." Its just too affordable to ignore and is completely worth what you think will be a hassle until you realize the fantastic value. The employees are always very nice. The stores, both sides, are well kept and clean and you can even get yourself a cooked turkey leg and/or some ice cream at a little store window between both entrances. At the moment (and for awhile) this is my preferred place to use for stocking my refrigerator in Orlando. The focus being on just the basics: meat and produce - good luck finding a canned product! Choose your time to visit wisely though, or face the crowds. I like the building itself - a red barn with metal roof - and the space is very well laid out, with two distinct buildings for produce and meat. Really good mixture of various produce, and usually something obscure to try, too. The staff here is extremely friendly, and they seem really knowledgeable about their fruits and vegetables. They have a board in-store that shows what they are featuring, what is organic, what is local, etc. (and they have this information on their website also - which I really appreciate when mentally shopping earlier in the day!) The place is very clean and well kept up. The prices are fair: produce seems a bit typical for the quality, meats are cheaper than most retail grocery outlets. Most everything is all-natural and never frozen - and their website has an abundance of information about what their food is and where it comes from (some fish are farm-raised, so check the packaging). They also have an on-site ice cream shop, and sell GIANT smoked Turkey drumsticks. Overall, the business and the employees really take pride in offering fresh, healthy food and being friendly about it, which is what makes this my go-to spot. read more

I use to come here every Saturday with my mother when it was called Pops Produce and Mom's Meats. I hated it!! It was always packed and freezing. Now that I am an adult, I can appreciate the great prices and fresh selections. I still come here once a week to do my grocery shopping. The produce side has a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. They have the sweetest produce and some organic items as well. They also have frozen vegetables, legumes, spices and honey. Amazing prices! I get like 6 full bags for under $30. Love it! The meat side has a large variety of fresh meat, not frozen They do have frozen seafood section in the middle of the store. I love the bacon! It's so thick and perfect. Can you tell I love bacon? They also have a small deli section with cold cuts. Once again, great prices. They accept credit card as well ad EBT. The parking gets crazy on the weekend, so I usually park on the road. The carts don't go all the way to the street, so if you park their be prepared to carry your groceries. read more

This place is worth a trip across town, paying tolls, to shop at once a week. Back in the old days, this was Momm's meats and and Pop's Produce - but things have changed! The buildings are revamped to look like a red barn and there is a cute ice cream counter to keep the kids entertained. There is a meat side and a produce side, completely separate. Now, this may be inconvenient to some, but I thought it was great...but I'm also a vegetarian. ;) The produce is fresh, plentiful and several organic options are less expensive than any farmers market, grocery store or warehouse store in Orlando. Unreal. I walked out with a cart load of produce for about $30 and I had organic strawberries, portabella mushrooms..along with conventional raspberries, green tomatoes, peppers, grape tomatoes, local oranges, dried beans, local avocados, small potatoes, euro cukes, sweet onions, a bunch of culantro....tons of stuff. I popped into the meat side to see how things had changed, but it had been years and years since I had been to the old Momm and Pops. The meat shop is a compact space, but well laid out. I was able to take my checked out produce, (full cart) in the meat side, no problem. I picked up some hormone free and antibiotic free chicken (Bone in Breasts for the hubby, legs for the pup) for less than the price of regular chicken at a grocery store or even Costco or Sam's. Nice. They have a deli counter offering freshly sliced cold cuts and the store cases have every cut of meat imaginable. Frozen and fresh seafood, nice prices. Also offered was in house Applewood smoked pulled pork and whole pork roasts ready to go. Again, great prices. I'll be back to the meats when I need to stock up for the hubby or guests. As a juice nut and a fan of locally sourced goods, it is easy to be a fan of Freshfields Farm. Nothing like picking your produce and getting your hands "dirty" by touching real vegetables that are not coated with wax. Unlike my normal grocery shopping habits, when I go to FF I usually arrive without a list and choose what looks best for what I need. Thankfully I enjoy just about every vegetable under the sun so choice is never a problem. Parking wasn't that bad, and we went on a Saturday morning. Packaging was too much, good for a family but way too much meat for a couple. This stopped us from buying a lot. On two separate incidences two elderly women got quite rude with us and our cart as we were perusing the meat. It's called patience, jeez. The actual meat counter had very limited selection. We got bacon wrapped filet from here that we cooked the next day and it was really good! However... It is now two days later. We cooked our flap meat and right into the first bite we both knew it was rotten. And this was with salt and pepper seasoning on it. Two days? Are you kidding? And after the market we went straight home all of five minutes away. The produce had really good prices, but it's not as sweet as you'd expect. Wish they were open on Sunday! You can't beat the prices! I've compared them to other places around town and regular everyday prices (non sale) they can't compare. I priced boneless skinless chicken thighs there and at Publix... $2.10 a pound cheaper at Mom's. Ground chuck $3.19 a pound. They have a whole seperate building just for produce. It is so awesome. So many times of produce. From two types of eggplants (Japanese to Asian), a ton of different types of peppers (the spicey kind), to greens and fruits. read more

Meal prep heaven! I love coming here for their fresh selection of produce and meats! When you arrive you will notice that it is ALWAYS busy... and for good reason! Parking lot is full, but it's a high turnover. But Sundays can be extra cray. Freshfields is set up in two buildings. The first and most busy is the produce. Here you will find seasonal and organic fruits and veggies all priced way cheaper than other grocers. They even have farm fresh eggs and exotic produce like lychee, dragonfruit, and sugar cane. It gets pretty crowded in there, but they have the aisles formed in a way that allows you to walk through the whole place in a line and pick up produce as you make your way to the cashier. Maybe it's the Christian music playing, but nobody seems to be in a crappy mood despite the "cattle chute" feel. The next building is where the meats are. They have majority of the cuts for beef, pork, chicken, and chicken. They do not have chicken hearts however or beef ribs. They also have a good assortment of grass-fed beef options. There is always usually a good deal on chicken breast and tenders for you healthy peeps out there. Literally the best price for that in Orlando! Between the two buildings there is a little concession stand for some ice cream, hotdogs, and even smoked turkey leg. It's a bit of a drive for me to get there, but well worth the trip! read more

When I go grocery shopping, this is the only place I go for buying meat. As for produce, I buy fruits and vegetables from here as well as a few other produce markets around town.Grocery stores, such as Publix and Super Target, I usually buy just canned or boxed goods. The quality and prices of Freshfields' beef, pork, chicken, and seafood is fantastic! I went today, and I purchased the following: Pollock (four filets) frozen @ $2.18 a pound-$2.88 Tilapia, frozen @ $3.77 a pound-$3.05 Top Sirloin Steak-$7.74 Boneless/skinless chicken breasts @$2.99 a pound-$3.71 Sirloin Cut Pork Chops (package of four)-$3.16 A total of $20.54! The deli has great prices on their deli meats, and their Serrano ham is my favorite. The pastrami is a close second, and I have a fondness for the garlic bologna. Cheese, such as American, provolone, and other selections are already sliced and packaged. In the deli, they also carry N.Y. Strips and bacon-wrapped filets. And fresh seafood, such as salmon, is available in the case next to the deli. The produce department has great prices as well. Vine ripe tomatoes for $1.58 a pound. Several selections of lettuce, fruits, and vegetables. The produce section also carries milk, eggs, and several selections of dry beans. If there is a vegetable you are looking for preparing a ethnic dish, chances are you will find it here. If you cannot find it, ask. The staff at Freshfields' Farm will gladly help you find an item, cut or trim meat, and are the friendliest staff a store could have. The only reason I give this four stars is because of the parking. Yikes! On the weekend, the parking lot is constantly full, as well as the first day of the month. And even on the weekdays, it is busy. But if it is busy, then that should tell you that Freshfields' Farm is doing something right. And what is really great is that during these hot summer months, you can stop between the meats and produce and get an ice cream from their snack bar! But get it with the strawberries when they are in season! I forgot to mention.The roast beef that is served sliced in the deli is cooked right there on the premises. If you you enjoy a great roast beef sandwich, pick up a package as soon as you enter. It will be the first item available to your left as you enter. And it is usually priced at $4.99 a pound! The deli also has a rotisserie and sells rotisserie chicken that is usually priced at $5.99. You can find them in the heating case to your left before you go to your cashier. And it is really good! They have added more sanitizers around d for people to find quickly and they are managing numbers in and out of store. They also have the best meat selection and fresh produce. The meats are so affordable and are fresh, we will buy an extra pack and freeze for future use. I love their chicken tender pack and their selection of steaks. They are priced perfectly to feed a family of 4. Their produce is great as well. They keep what is fresh in store. The produce lasts more than the next day, unlike other stores. I suggest going during the week that way you don't end up playing bumper carts. Some of my favorites that I buy for an awesome price are the organic apples, avocados, and kiwis. I am not a meat eater so I can't really rate the meat department but from what I see they're not doing too shabby either. They even have a small ice cream parlor. I've lived in Orlando, FL for over three years. I've travelled around the world as a soldier and as an executive. We love to eat healthy and we "juice" at least once a day. We buy our produce, fruits, and meats at this market and let me tell you, we save a ton of money vs. buying at a regular supermarket, and it becomes another outing! The people are so friendly and helpful. It's always crowded. The displays are constantly filled and cleaned by staff. Most of all, the produce and fruits are fresh and last longer at home then most other supermarket produce. The meat market is a little smaller but the meat assortment is there. I would like to see a larger selection of seafood, but they have all the basics. The red meats looks so palatable that your mouth begins to drool; I will caution you to control your impulses because you just want to run out and get a BBQ grill right there and then!!! This place saved us when we were on a strict budget, allowing us to keep eating fresh for less. Their produce often seems larger, fresher, cleaner, juicier, cheaper than in supermarkets though there are times some batches are better than other times. I guess it depends on when they replenish or what's in season . Even regular brands that are in stores like Driscoll etc most times are fresher and plumper here, maybe they have less time between the source and the shelf. For instance blueberries here are still firm juicy whereas at the supermarket almost 50-60% are always mushy already and tiny in comparison. Same brand. Not sure how they do it. The best blueberries & blackberries I've had. I also never knew I liked kiwi until buying it here, they were still firm and wonderful after ripening. They offer organic and local options too but not as much organic as I'd like. I've overheard first timers comment about expecting more. They seem to be slowly expanding the organic options though so hopefully it'll get there. They often carry items like dragon fruit, yellow yam, mammee fruit, wheat grass, local honey, rainbow chard, baby Bok Choy, Chinese eggplant, bittermelon, mung bean sprouts...not just run of the mill items, enticing you to try new things. The meat side has started to offer some grass fed and organic options but not much yet. Otherwise the meats are not bad, definitely cheaper. I still personally prefer the meats at Publix or Whole Foods but if on a budget you can't beat the value. Pork, beef, chicken, duck, cheese, lamb, fish, shrimp... try the Honduran head-on shrimp, a different taste and texture. Also for us "Jamericans" you can regularly find oxtail, goat, skin-on-pork stew meat and saltfish (bacalao / cod) for our Caribbean dishes. Their cashiers are fast, friendly and efficient. I am happy to have them as an option in Orlando. I also love seeing people succeed by doing things right. I wish they were closer to home, would shop there every week! read more

I have friends that live downtown and south of downtown that have raved about this place. We ended up on that side of town and popped in just to check it out, and of course left with a boatload of stuff. The first impression is the freshness of the produce we passed. We grabbed some seriously fresh herbs that they packaged, so hard to find fresh dill and they had it along with other herbs you might need, but I had a plan for homemade pickles. Lots of produce identified as local. It felt like a real farmers market and also reminded me of a mini Stew Leonards. In the meat section, separate entrance we picked up chicken leg quarters at 83 cents a pound and thighs about the same price. Seriously, it's 2019 when do you see chicken for 89 cents a pound. If you are a carnivore there a a ton of cuts available. Will have to make an excursion down there again, but right now my freezer if full of cheap chicken read more

So what do you get when you combine a butcher shop and speed dating? You get the fastest, coldest, clockwise moving line for meat I've ever been in. This place is a place to go for (1) fresh local meat (beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and deli meats--and cheese!); most of them at a bargain price and very fresh looking, and (2) local/organic produce. The problem is that in the meat room you need to be QUICK! People (like me) who wander in there thinking they can simply plod along and do some actual thinking, are in for a rude awakening as people stream into this relatively small, very cold, room filled with meat, going in a clockwise circle that is eventually part of a check-out line. If you snooze you lose and this meat-go-round place will force you to pick your selections or be picked up off the floor with the speed of the patrons, who clearly know what they want before they get there; that this a great place for meats. For the rest of the vegetarians and vegans among us, there's a second room that is dedicated to produce, both organic and local (Florida) where possible.
