However we were pleasantly surprised to find out that they did offer outdoor seating, and due to our 5pm arrival time they accommodate us in the outside seating area. We ordered two wagyu sets, and also added a maguro katsu side portion to try out the tuna. You self sear your proteins, and they cook quickly. The server explained appropriately how long to cook each item. Delicious, pricy, but overall totally worth it for the meal. Amazing food and great service! Made a reservation for the first seating on a Sunday morning. It's located next to Domu (which is owned by the same chef Sonny Nguyen) on the first floor of East End Market. The restaurant seating is omakase style, the menu has 3 options featuring Japanese Wagyu, tuna and curry menchi katsu with U.S. beef. Each order is presented beautifully in a set with 2 small sides, a bowl of barley rice, 2 different dipping sauces and a cabbage salad that you pair with goma (sesame) dressing. You also get a hot bowl of suimono soup towards the end of your meal. Unfortunately it was a bit to salty for my preference. To cook the wagyu, you place the pieces onto the hot stone butane grill in front of you and sear to your preference. There's no smoke and the market is open air enough you don't smell like BBQ. The meat is so tender and buttery. It was delightful. The potato salad was delicious and the pickled cabbage complimented the richness of the wagyu very well. My husband had the surf and turf. We made a reservation since they do not have a lot of seats even thought it didn't seem like an issue. I got the surf and tuff with the Wagyu and the tuna. Loved this place so much!! I'm a Domu die hard but my daughter suggested this place. Modeled after a small Japanese eatery located in the far end of East end Market sits this unassuming place. It's very simple you have 3 choices and all looked amazing. Reservations are highly suggested. You sit down and the awesome staff explain the whole process to you. Your food is served Bento style with some fun sauces included. The tuna was so fresh and the steak filet was amazing ! All of the sauces and sides complemented the tuna and steak. Halfway through the meal you are served this delicious smoky broth which has a calming but smoky flavor. One of the most unique dining experiences in Orlando! Gyukatsu Rose has been on our list for a long time and, now that they're offering brunch, we knew we had to check them out. I got the Wagyu set and my husband had the Maguro set. The process of cooking it yourself in the tiny stove was fun, and the food tasted delicious. Our sets came with rice, a cabbage salad, and some smaller side dishes. I preferred the Wagyu over the Maguro, but both were honestly great. The quality is great for the price. Came here with my husband for an early Valentine's dinner. I loved my meal here last time and wanted to share it with my husband. I ordered my usual which was the single cutlet set and my husband ordered the curry cutlet iteration. Service was great. Our server was attentive and was helpful as she was explaining things to my husband since it was his first time. Between the two we found we preferred the OG single cutlet a little more. Not to say that the curry cutlet is to be missed on - we just prefer its flavor profile. I'd definitely recommend the curry cutlet for anyone who wants an intenser flavor profile. It was alright. I think the biggest draw to this restaurant is that there isn't another restaurant in Orlando with a similar experience. I believe it is the only gyukatsu restaurant here. However, it's quite overpriced for what it is. You can order a variety of katsu, which is meat cutlet that is breaded and deep-fried. The restaurant has very limited seating, and it's all bar seating on high chairs (which is kind of uncomfortable). Once your katsu comes out, you are provided with a hot stone plate, where you can additionally grill/sear your meat to your liking. The experience is cool, but I don't think it's worth what you're paying for. Flavor-wise: the curry katsu tasted like meatloaf, the maguro (tuna) katsu tasted flat, and the wagyu was fine. This is closest experience you'll get to what it's like to eat at a little corner joint in Japan. In Orlando anyway. The King opened this place up recently, a little eight-ish-top counter restaurant in the middle of one of the busiest food halls in town. I'm hoping it's a roaring success, because I loved every minute of my time here. The counter is lovely. Plenty of space for the cooktops and your tray of food, as well as all the seasonings and sauces they keep on hand. Everything behind the counter is pretty simple. Those little curtains cover the doors and windows, like in Japan. Your host is with you chit chatting with you pretty much the whole time. It's a nice experience. The service was exceptional. You get a little tutorial on how to cook the meat, with a wide range of cooking times. Anywhere between 10 seconds and one minute, they said. I'll tell you right now, if you cook these little cutlets for a minute, it's gonna be jerky. But, it was nice to have the tutorial. The food itself was phenomenal. The way they do things in Japan is provide you smaller portions of higher quality stuff. If you use chopsticks, it makes you eat everything more slowly, allowing you to really enjoy the ingredients. The menu is pretty simple. You get a Wagyu beef set meal, or a tuna set meal. That's it. I ordered the Wagyu Single Cutlet set meal, which included Hokkaido Barley Rice, Suimono Soup, Cabbage Salad, Potato Salad, House Pickles, Onion Sauce, Yakiniku Sauce, and Fresh Wasabi. A ton of little components. No wrong way to eat it. A little of this, a little of that, dipped in this, dipped in that, add a little finishing salt, maybe a little green sauce. Just dig in. You're gonna have to fine tune the time you cook your beef. You want it to me long enough to have the fat loosen up a bit, but not too long to where it gets tough and chewy. All part of the fun. Everything was delicious. Amazing, melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu, the rice was simply delicious, with hints of that barley, yummy soup, a refreshing cabbage salad, nice, acidic pickles, and two sauces that really pack a punch. Solid all around. After our lovely meal, we ordered the Matcha Ice Cream Brulee, and surprise, it was also delicious. My partner and I arrived around 6pm on a Friday and were able to be seated right away without a reservation. This was pure luck on our part, as it's a small bar area seating with only about 8 seats. After we arrived there was reservation after reservation with a decent wait list for walk ins. The server was so patient, friendly, and knowledgeable, giving us the rundown on the "set meal" concept, where you simply choose the type of meat and portion size you'd like, everything else is set. I went with the Wagyu Single Cutlet and Maguro Katsu and my partner simply got the wagyu. I wanted to try both! We were craving the wagyu katsu we had in Japan from Gyukatsu Motomura and remembered Gyukatsu Rose had opened recently, so we decided to try. The wagyu here is tender--almost melting in your mouth with each bite. While I personally would have enjoyed a bit more marbled fat for that extra richness, the quality was still pretty good. I was very pleased they had fresh wasabi, it's hardly seen and it's like the cherry on top for wagyu. The staff is friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Located inside East End Market, finding the entrance was a bit tricky--the main doors were closed because it was already past 7pm, so had to walk around the building to find an open door (in the corner-far left facing Domu). Some directional signs outside would definitely had helped. The space itself had just the counter seating (about nine seats set up inside when we visited) and some outdoor seating available as well. For those missing the Gyukatsu Motomura of Japan, this spot definitely hits the spot. It satisfied my craving and transported me back to my Gyukatsu experiences. Located inside East End Market right next to Rion's Ocean Room, you'll find the intimate 8 seat counter. You'll definitely want to make a reservation to guarantee yourself a seat (timeslots drop weekly on Resy). They also added a few outdoor tables to accommodate a few more guests per seating. We made reservations for a late lunch/early dinner on Valentine's Day, right when they open at 3pm. We were seated promptly and given the rundown by their friendly, knowledgeable staff. We started with some light, refreshing sake that happened to be BOGO for V-Day. This was our second visit, so we already knew based on our first experience, we were going to want some extra wagyu, so we ordered one additional cutlet to share. Then out comes the beautifully curated tray of yumminess including your lightly breaded and fried wagyu cutlet, rice, suimomo soup, cabbage salad, house pickles, potato salad, onion sauce, house soy, and fresh wasabi -- all for $29 or $48 for a double cutlet. The little stone grills are already hot as soon as you sit down, so you can start searing your wagyu right away. This quality steak can be eaten raw the way it's served or you can flash sear it for just a few seconds on each side. Melts in your mouth like butter and we ate every last bite! I was not familiar with this Japanese ishiyaki concept before experiencing it here, and I can see why it's so popular in Japan. I love that it's one set meal and the only decisions you have to make are choice of sake and how many wagyu cutlets you want. I was also very impressed by how quickly everything comes out -- perfect for us new parents who are running against the clock and can no longer sit through a 2+ hour dining experience with an infant. Firstly, we recommend to not come with a group larger than 2, as you will most likely not get seated together/at the same time. We had a large miscommunication regarding our seating and ended up waiting 3 hours. The staff also seemed kinda pushy to have us finish due to the volume of customers. I get it as it's a very popular area with only 8 seats. However it's not an atmosphere that invites hanging with your friends in my opinion. Regarding the food, it was good but not worth a wait. Feel like you're eating in Japan without leaving Orlando. The space is minimalistic and cleanly designed. With only 8 seats it still feels spacious and even with hot grills in front of you the exhaust fans keep you comfortable. The experience is fantastic, giving you agency over your meal with a variety of sauces, seasonings and dishes to mix and match to your desired. The wonderful staff give you their personal recommendations and ideas but then once that tray hits your table it's a choose your own adventure of flavor. I was expecting a slightly thicker crust on the beef but it was perfect as it was. I suggest eating the end pieces first as they're fully cooked through and grilling won't do much justice to that wonderful meat. My preference was just salt so the wagyu fat can really shine through but the onion sauce was a very close second and I will be trying to replicate at home. The pickled bok choy was an unexpected delight with a slight mustard note to it. I would drink the cabbage salad dressing if it were socially acceptable. The soup was a warm and mild palate cleanser and I upgraded the mushrooms in it by grilling them in the wagyu fat. The only thing that was just ok was the rice, with the barley I was expecting a more nutty flavor but it was just nicely cooked rice. We took a matcha pudding to go which didn't quite feel like it matched the elegance of the meal with crushed Oreos and marshmallow fluff but it was tasty despite not tasting matcha (chocolate and marshmallow really overpower anything else). I'm so glad I got to preview this experience because once it's fully open (soft open starting January 16) it will likely be nigh impossible to get a seat. I was very excited to see this kind of concept enter the Orlando restaurant scene since having this meal from Japan! The quality of the meat was amazing and it was so tender. I also really liked the other sides that came with the dinner, especially the cabbage salad. Having the variety of sauces and seasonings you could pair with the meat to your preference was a great touch. Shout out to Karla for explaining everything so nicely! My only gripe would be that the outside of the meat wasn't crispy from the flash fry. Anything this restaurant group touches is gold! I learned about this restaurant when trying Rion's Ocean's Room a few weeks ago at East End Market. This is right up our alley. After seeing several local foodie influencers post as well, I was absolutely hyped. So when we were in the neighborhood for the soft opening, I suggested to come here. I will add the disclaimer that since this is new and the weekend, we waited a little over 2 hours, but I found it worth it. I like that this is a set menu so everything came out fast. Our server was very knowledgeable as well and shared info about everything in the set. We also ordered green teas and matcha pudding to go. Loved the pudding so much. This is a must try. Everything was flavorful and well made, and it's fun to cook the wagyu. The goma dressing is absolutely fabulous. I can't wait to come back again! read more

This was something fun and different for dinner. The steak was really tender and I enjoyed it!

Absolutely amazing experience! Make a reservation on Resy. People without would wait or sit outside. There are only maybe 9 seats? It's located inside of east end market so plan some extra time to find parking if arriving at peak times. Upon arriving we were greeted by Lisa who was super sweet and explained everything. You basically choose if you want wagyu or tuna, single or double meat. I ended up getting double Wagyu and glad that I did! It comes with rice and some sides, I seared each piece only a few seconds each, and fried all the sauces, loved them all! The soup was also delicious. Amazing experience and delicious food! This was such a treat! The presentation was beautiful and I got the double portion of meat. If you're really hungry, this is 100% the way to go! The meat was so tender and the coating was perfectly crispy and even. The sauces and sides allow for you to use as much or as little as you like, creating flavor combinations as you go. If you like beef (wagyu) and kastu this is the place to go. I've had some pretty amazing katsu from Japan and Vancouver. I haven't really found a place where I felt I got my katsu fix in Orlando. Though this is not your traditional type restaurant it's still worth it and very yummy! There is a caveat. Since this place is only doing walk in wait lists your waiting time may vary. You can buy beer or sake during your wait and sit in the outdoor seating area. We waited about 2 hours. If it wasn't for good company I probably would've left. I would probably recommend going as early as you can. Even if it was 2 hours I felt it was worth it. Also it was only $29 which I feel is a good price for what you are getting. read more

A one of a kind experience that took me back to Japan! Food: we got their set menu (only one choice at this time) and the meat was definitely delicious! I wasn't a fan of the breading, but the sauces definitely made up for it! My favorite was the onion sauce because I loveeee yuzu. The wasabi and pepper flakes also added to my perfect bite. The dressing for the cabbage was great and was my friend's favorite sauce to dip the meat in! The sides were pretty good but wish there were more variety (onsen egg, curry sauce, radish, maybe a white sauce, etc.) I got the dessert to go just to try. I'm not a huge Oreo or marshmallow fan but the matcha pudding part was pretty balanced! Being in east end it's so cozy and inviting, the staff are amazing too. It's definitely a must visit. I gave it 4 stars because gyu katsu is my favorite thing in the entire world to eat. I will definitely be back, hopefully when they have alittle more variety in meat cuts / marblings and sides! read more
