    Japanese Breakfast Set
    Alicia J.

I cannot recommend this enough! I've never had a traditional Japanese breakfast before, and loved every bite of this curated meal. Every item and flavor profile seemed intentional. This was a balanced breakfast, and I loved everything. Service was fantastic, as always. Their small and intimate setting, paired with a wonderful staff made for a relaxing and delicious experience. Huge love for this amazing, small, and family-owned spot!

Came here with my husband for an early Valentine's dinner. I loved my meal here last time and wanted to share it with my husband. I ordered my usual which was the single cutlet set and my husband ordered the curry cutlet iteration. Service was great. Our server was attentive and was helpful as she was explaining things to my husband since it was his first time. Between the two we found we preferred the OG single cutlet a little more. Not to say that the curry cutlet is to be missed on - we just prefer its flavor profile. I'd definitely recommend the curry cutlet for anyone who wants an intenser flavor profile. Also, for anyone who isn't comfortable cooking meat to their preferred temp, the curry cutlet is a safe bet. I honestly enjoy the evening seating. East End is nice and somewhat busy, but not too busy. Highly recommend a meal here. I look forward to coming here again.

One of the most unique dining experiences in Orlando! Gyukatsu Rose has been on our list for a long time and, now that they're offering brunch, we knew we had to check them out. I got the Wagyu set and my husband had the Maguro set. The process of cooking it yourself in the tiny stove was fun, and the food tasted delicious. Our sets came with rice, a cabbage salad, and some smaller side dishes. I preferred the Wagyu over the Maguro, but both were honestly great. The quality is great for the price. I'm not sure if this is something that I'll crave, but I would definitely take visiting guests here!

I had a fantastic meal at Gyukatsu Rose in Orlando. I remember having a similar meal in Japan a couple years back and I was hype to see that this place had opened up here in Orlando. The food was delicious and unique with perfectly breaded gyukatsu that you can sear to your liking right at the table. The beef was tender and flavorful and the sides of rice, cabbage, and soup made the meal feel complete. The service was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Staff explained how everything worked and made sure our experience was smooth and enjoyable. The ambiance felt warm and inviting with a great energy inside East End Market. It was a comfortable place to enjoy a relaxed dinner with friends or family.

It was alright. I think the biggest draw to this restaurant is that there isn't another restaurant in Orlando with a similar experience. I believe it is the only gyukatsu restaurant here. However, it's quite overpriced for what it is. You can order a variety of katsu, which is meat cutlet that is breaded and deep-fried. The restaurant has very limited seating, and it's all bar seating on high chairs (which is kind of uncomfortable). Once your katsu comes out, you are provided with a hot stone plate, where you can additionally grill/sear your meat to your liking. The experience is cool, but I don't think it's worth what you're paying for. Flavor-wise: the curry katsu tasted like meatloaf, the maguro (tuna) katsu tasted flat, and the wagyu was fine. However, none of the ingredients tasted "premium", and the ambiance and service did not feel "premium" either, so it's hard to justify a "premium" price point.

Pros: Location is unique and fun, right in the middle of East End. I love it. The service was great. You get a helpful tutorial at the beginning of the meal, and you get checked on throughout the meal at a perfect rate. Very friendly people. The food was awesome. Very small portions of very high quality side items. All there to accentuate the highest quality of meat. Sliced large enough to get the quality, but small enough to cook with ease. Cons: No cons. They have a tuna option that we didn't get to try, and the steak option we did have, but no in between of both. Tips: They are obligated to recommend anywhere up to 60 seconds of cook time, but don't you dare. You will have a piece of rubber on your hands, and if you like it like that, please don't waste everyone's time by coming here.

What a fun experience for dinner tonight! We've been to a similar restaurant in Japan and came prepared knowing what we were getting into. He got the Waygu set and I got the Curry set. The curry set comes pre-cooked and has a meatloaf-texture since it's a blend. He enjoyed the waygu, I'll get it next time! We loved that they had traditional dressings for the cabbage. The food was tasty and we felt a great price point. The server was friendly and always kept the water flowing. Looking forward to our next visit!

This is closest experience you'll get to what it's like to eat at a little corner joint in Japan. In Orlando anyway. The King opened this place up recently, a little eight-ish-top counter restaurant in the middle of one of the busiest food halls in town. I'm hoping it's a roaring success, because I loved every minute of my time here. The counter is lovely. Plenty of space for the cooktops and your tray of food, as well as all the seasonings and sauces they keep on hand. Everything behind the counter is pretty simple. Those little curtains cover the doors and windows, like in Japan. Your host is with you chit chatting with you pretty much the whole time. It's a nice experience. The service was exceptional. You get a little tutorial on how to cook the meat, with a wide range of cooking times. Anywhere between 10 seconds and one minute, they said. I'll tell you right now, if you cook these little cutlets for a minute, it's gonna be jerky. But, it was nice to have the tutorial. The food itself was phenomenal. The way they do things in Japan is provide you smaller portions of higher quality stuff. If you use chopsticks, it makes you eat everything more slowly, allowing you to really enjoy the ingredients. The menu is pretty simple. You get a Wagyu beef set meal, or a tuna set meal. That's it. I ordered the Wagyu Single Cutlet set meal, which included Hokkaido Barley Rice, Suimono Soup, Cabbage Salad, Potato Salad, House Pickles, Onion Sauce, Yakiniku Sauce, and Fresh Wasabi. A ton of little components. No wrong way to eat it. A little of this, a little of that, dipped in this, dipped in that, add a little finishing salt, maybe a little green sauce. Just dig in. You're gonna have to fine tune the time you cook your beef. You want it to me long enough to have the fat loosen up a bit, but not too long to where it gets tough and chewy. All part of the fun. Everything was delicious. Amazing, melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu, the rice was simply delicious, with hints of that barley, yummy soup, a refreshing cabbage salad, nice, acidic pickles, and two sauces that really pack a punch. Solid all around. After our lovely meal, we ordered the Matcha Ice Cream Brulee, and surprise, it was also delicious. Sweet ice cream, with the bitter brulee, and the texture of the crisp sugar post-brulee. Just lovely. Overall, yes, this was lovely. You gotta come experience this.

My bf took me to Gyukatsu Rose fo my birthday treat! I have been wanting to go since they opened. I thought parking could be tough, but when we drove in the parking area, there was one spot waiting for us. We had a beautiful smile welcomed us. The server was very friendly! She explained to us the sauces and what to expect. I could tell she was genuinely wanting us to enjoy what they offer. We fell in love with the atmosphere. My bf got Mexican Coca Cola and I got green tea. I usually don't drink soda. But Mexican Coca-Cola was actually pretty good. The meal I ordered Gyukatsu with curry which was Thursday special. He had wagyu katsu. I put the raw egg on the rice. Egg must be fresh to eat raw. My rice became a very tasty rice. It reminded me when I was growing up in Japan. My beef was well cooked and just perfect amount of curry. I enjoyed every bite of my katsu. My bf enjoyed cooking his Wagyu and enjoyed both dipping sauces. The raw cabbage was even tasty with yummy GOMA dressing. He never eats raw cabbages before. But he loved them. The clear soup was also nice, warm and very fresh made. The amount of the meal was perfect. Of course I wanted to have some good desert. It was ice cream with matcha(but didn't overpower others) My bf didn't try it because he doesn't do any matcha. Forgot to mention: I got a complimentary gift. Yes my desert was very yummy. Experience for us was very perfect. Not super fancy but the people and the foods made our evening so special. They might have many choices. But what I experienced was authentic. I am grateful! Highly recommend here and will go back to Gyukatsu Rose again!

Their steak is pretty close to what you can get from Japan! I think the breading is a little thinner than what it's supposed to be, but it still is really really good! For $35, you get the steak and all the sides. This place is pretty worth it. I would definitely make a reservation as they have very limited seating

Such a fun and delicious experience at Gyukatsu Rose, located inside East End Market in Audubon Park, Orlando. My partner and I arrived around 6pm on a Friday and were able to be seated right away without a reservation. This was pure luck on our part, as it's a small bar area seating with only about 8 seats. After we arrived there was reservation after reservation with a decent wait list for walk ins. The server was so patient, friendly, and knowledgeable, giving us the rundown on the "set meal" concept, where you simply choose the type of meat and portion size you'd like, everything else is set. I went with the Wagyu Single Cutlet and Maguro Katsu and my partner simply got the wagyu. I wanted to try both! All sets include barley rice, soup, cabbage salad, potato salad, house pickles (amazing), and several different sauces/seasonings. A hot stone grill is set in front of you, and you cook your meat to your liking/preferred temperature. It was a fun and romantic date night activity. The food was delicious and fresh. I loved everything.

This meal was an incredible example of traditional gyukatsu. It's a rare opportunity to find a restaurant that does this style so well, and I couldn't be more impressed. The wagyu was deliciously tender, and the cabbage salad with goma dressing was outstanding. The potato salad and pickled bok choy were both incredibly flavorful. The yuzu soda had a subtle citrus note with a crisp sparkle. To finish, the matcha crème brûlée was a fun experience--torching the sugar at the table--and the matcha flavor paired beautifully with the cookie crumble. The service was intimate and attentive. Great conversation and welcoming environment!

Right inside of east end market. Ordered the wagyu single cutlet and was not disappointed. Lisa was a great server and she explained all the items that were served with the meal and gave me some pairing tips.

So if you're a long time Central Florida resident, then you know that street is very walkable and super cute with the park nearby but also high end. I mean it has a Williams Sonoma, like casually. The restaurant is located at 525 S Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789. My boyfriend did get the reservation I think about a month in advance. It very much surprised me as one of my goals is to try new places in Orlando, and this was one that he had been to that I hadn't been to. So A++++ for him. So the restaurant had a super nice atmosphere but was very booked out. There were heart balloons at every table. So the decor was absolutely in the room with us lol. The service was very nice and I feel that they were very attentive and almost felt like maybe they had been trained to provide a certain feeling to customers. I'm sure they had been. Getting into the food, I'm not sure what the bill was. I wasn't allowed to look at it. I will say that I'm sure it was at least $100. I did leave feeling very full, but I do feel like that's a lot of money for me to feel full. We ordered the Misoyaki Butterfish, which was a Miso-glazed Chilean sea bass on a plate with ginger-sake eggplant, butter garlic sautéed spinach, and Japanese potato purée. It's a large plate and we did share, but it was not the whole fish. I think if I pay $45 for a fish, I want the whole fish. My rating is 8.5/10. It was incredibly delicious, but I want the rest of my fish. We also got the Kanpungi, which was fried Korean style boneless chicken bites smothered in a spicy soy sauce glaze. My rating of this is 9/10. I think it was great and was very filling for an appetizer. We accidentally ran into our friends at the restaurant, who had sent us a bottle of sake. The sake was great. We sent back a non-alcoholic cocktail they had and a sake based cocktail. I couldn't tell you what it tasted like, but the service presented and delivered back and forth between our table in a manner I can only describe as carrier pigeon-esque. They did great. I love fanfare. I think for a first date, this is a great place to bring someone you have been talking to for a little bit and want to show that you have a good stable job in this economy and like foods outside of American food. I wasn't on a first date as a note lol. My overall rating is 7.5/10. I mean I think everything was great, but that price stabbed me a little. My boyfriend did suggest to me that it would have been a higher rating if we had gotten one of the rolls. So that's on me. It is in a great walkable neighborhood though. So you are getting charged for ambiance.

The place itself is very art-directed, modern and purposeful. Apparently it's owned by the Kabooki Sushi team, and the quality speaks for itself. It's not your typical sushi restaurant. It's hand rolls. Which means, seaweed is the wrap. Theirs is imported straight from Japan. And for the record, the seaweed is dense, flavorful and also way healthier for you than a mouthful of rice. I sat for the omakase which included a very delicious hamachi appetizer. Then an onslaught of handrolls including lobster, eel, a lean and fatty tuna (toro, the best) and a spicy root vegetable of the name I can't remember. In all, this place has great hours. A wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. And flavors that you can explore because the folks there want you to have fun eating the food as they prepare it. It's very live and fresh. And I'm super grateful it's just a few blocks away because I'll leave you with this. The prices are reasonable too. 5 stars all around. But be careful, I hear it gets packed during peak evening hours. Bravo though. Mosonori has a place in Orlando's culinary scene, for sure.

We made our reservations, arrived, buckled up, and went along for the ride. Ambiance was nice. I love when all of the diners are seated at a mega-bar around the kitchen. I like seeing all the phases of the dish being put together. And I also love that we got taken to a different room entirely for dessert. Dessert lounges are a trend I definitely want to stick around. The service was nice. It wasn't the scheduled down-to-the-second kind of service choreography that some Three Star restaurants have, but it was well-timed, and it was very friendly. If I had one recommendation, it would be to have staff slow down and enunciate more clearly when it comes to describing the dish. There are so many components to so many of them, I missed some of the words. As for the food, wow. Just wow. The website touts an experience that is both Japanese and French. We start off with the snacks course, a few little seafood courses, the big fish, the chicken, the meat, and then onto the dessert room. So there's plenty of food to go around. I won't detail everything, because it hopefully won't be the same when you come, and no one wants to read all that anyway. I will point out some highlights and lowlights. I'm gonna say it, this was one of the best snacks course I've had at tasting menu, ever. The wonderful contrasting textures, the intricate tweezer work on ingredients that actually help the flavor, it was just so good. The choose-your-own-chopstick-adventure box was a fun surprise. The playfulness of the emergency fork at the end of the box was hilarious. A really nice way for a place like this to lighten things up, for people who maybe come here a little stiff because of the pricetag. The crispiness of that chicken skin was unlike anything I've ever eaten, and I will remember it until my dying day. That was probably the biggest surprise of the night. Thank you for that, Omo. The biggest lowlight of the evening for me was the "beignet" that was served with the final savory, meat course. Whatever that thing was was not a beignet, and calling it one brings you great shame. The desserts were ultra fun. I like how they really wanted to showcase Florida citrus, I loved that Melon, a really impressive piece of fruit, and the playfulness of that box was something I hadn't seen in American tasting menus, I was really glad to see it. Overall, this was a very good experience. I will not rank it publicly against other Starred restaurants in Orlando, but if you are interested in that kind of stuff, just reach out, we can chat. A really nice meal, Omo. Thank you!

Very cool. Service was also very good. It wasn't the perfectly, down to the second, choreography that I've seen at other places, but it was well timed and they were very friendly, personable folks. The food was to die for. It was a little confusing with exactly what fusion they were going for, but it was very delicious. Probably the best snack course I've ever seen at a place like this. Cons: Not a single con. If you are able to consider, but are wondering if it's worth the price tag, yes, it is worth the price tag. Tips: Come. And get a drink pairing. The sommelier did a great job with the pairings.

First off, the setting is gorgeous sitting around the chef's counter. Sitting at the very end, it felt like a private dining experience with my partner and the chefs/staff who were putting on such a show. Each course was thoughtfully explained and presented with such fine care, really making me appreciate each bite and ponder about the ingredients being used. Hearing about the hyper-local farms and what they provide was really unique, while also appreciating the fish, rice, and vinegar they import from Japan for authenticity. Overall a great blend. The food is expertly prepared, though I wish they leaned more into the sushi and Japanese inspiration for the entire evening. The fresh fish and sushi courses were the highlights of the show and make for a peculiar parallel to the later deeper flavor dishes like the braised short rib. Possibly this is averted if we had splurged on the wagyu supplement but still felt like the menu takes a turn towards the end. I can't speak more highly of the service here. The entire team was incredible throughout the entire evening with an energy and passion that only comes with this caliber of restaurant. With Sushi Saint and Perla's now all here, we did notice when we went to leave how tricky the parking lot becomes. Even with the valet, we struggled to leave with cars stacked up trying to park - would make sure you arrive with plenty of time. Overall, Soseki was a great experience and worth its most recent star and price. We had incredible food served by impressive people that made for an amazing celebration.

Definitely made the occasion feel special from start to finish. First off, book ahead. Seating is extremely limited and this is the kind of place that fills up for a reason. Chef Tony runs the counter with a level of precision and calm confidence that you immediately feel the moment you sit down. It's not just about the food, it's the pacing, the storytelling, and how intentional every course feels. The omakase flows beautifully. Nothing feels rushed, nothing feels dragged out. Each piece builds on the last. You can tell there's real thought behind the progression. The fish is pristine, but what stood out more was how balanced everything was. Clean flavors, subtle creativity, and zero gimmicks. A few bites genuinely caught me off guard in the best way. That moment where you pause and just look at the person next to you like... yeah, that was special. If you're going, get the drink pairing. It actually elevates the experience instead of just being an add-on. Everything is thoughtfully matched and enhances each course without overpowering it. Service matched the experience. Attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without sounding scripted. The whole room feels intimate and dialed in. Chef Tony made the experience feel personal, not transactional, which is rare even at high end omakase spots. If you're in Orlando and serious about sushi, this is a must. Not just for the quality, but for the experience as a whole.

From the moment you walk in, you understand why it earned its place on the Michelin Guide. Tori Tori is not just a restaurant; it is a performance of craftsmanship. The warm glow of the bar, the clean architectural lines, the open kitchen framed like a stage--everything feels intentional. Through the glass, the chefs move with the precision of artists, each skewer turned with care, each plate treated like a canvas. The atmosphere is a beautiful tension of old and new: authentic yet contemporary, refined yet welcoming. It carries the soul of a true Japanese izakaya while embracing modern elegance. Even the air feels curated--smoky from the grill, alive with conversation, and humming with anticipation. I searched for one of the best gluten-free restaurants in Orlando, and Tori Tori exceeded every expectation. The food was so extraordinary it nearly brought me to tears. The chicken yakitori and beef kushiyaki were transcendent--juicy, deeply flavorful, kissed by flame, and cooked with astonishing precision. Every bite felt like perfection distilled into something simple yet profound. My parents had the fried chicken and loved it just as much--crispy, tender, and impossible to stop eating. Some meals satisfy hunger. Others become memory. This one became both. I still dream about this place--the flavors, the atmosphere, the gratitude of sharing something so beautiful with people I love. Tori Tori gave me more than dinner; it gave me a moment suspended in time, one filled with joy, awe, and thankfulness. If you are searching for an authentic and stunning Japanese izakaya experience, pull up. Truly one of the best restaurants I've ever had the privilege of visiting. All that's left to say is: Arigatō gozaimasu. Thank you--for the food, the artistry, and the memory.
