Generous portions for a reasonable price! $15 for a regular bowl and $16 for a large bowl (why wouldn't you go large?!) You can pick rice, greens or half/half as your base. This was my first time here so the staff happily helped me and suggested the Sensei Bowl which came with both salmon and tuna and avocado and a lot of yummy toppings. You can also build your own bowl as well if you want things more customized. The rice was fluffy and soft and the fish was fresh and flavorful. When I went it was on a Tuesday evening on a cold day so the food cart park was pretty empty. But there was a fire place by the middle area to keep it cozy. This place is amazing and perfect for those hot Oregon days! First off, I love the ambiance of the BMX food pod. The seating is great, it was kept very clean for how many people were there, and the variety is excellent. However, skip all the other carts and go to this one! The fish tasted fresh, the rice was perfectly cooked, and it was ready for me in literally 2 minutes. I had the Spicy Salmon Don because I'm a fan of creamy spicy sauces, and it did not disappoint. There was definitely a big kick of heat, but it was perfectly offset with the fresh cucumbers. The size was perfect for a regular bowl! I typically can eat 2+ sushi rolls (maybe $25 total?), but didn't even finish this bowl that cost me $15. I will definitely be thinking about this simple, delicious meal for a while. As an fyi, I went in May 2023 and prices were $15 for a regular bowl and $16 for a large bowl, the prices shown in a lot of these photos are outdated. read more

This seems to consistently be one of the most popular carts in the BG food cart pod. I tried the Just Poke bowl (no rice, salad, or chips) with salmon ($11). The fish was good and fresh, and I got a decent amount of fish. There was a lot of sauce, but I think if I get cucumbers next time, it will make a nice salad. We also tried the seared scallops, which consisted of small to medium-sized cold raw scallops. One side was dark as if it had been seared, but it was cold, so they are not seared to order. I like picking all of the toppings in the build-your-own. Service is pretty fast, even when busy. read more

This was one of my favorite food carts in the Beaverton food cart hub (BG Food Cartel) but recently due to price increase, I've noticed they don't pack in as much as they used to. I know price increases are common now due to the pandemic but the quality isn't quite the same as it used to be. The main difference is that they serve less protein and base than before. I'll probably still order from here but maybe not as often. read more

When I'm in the mood for a poke bowl, this is where I went for years back when I lived in Portland. Upon a recent visit back to the neighborhood, it was easily on my list of places I was craving and had to have a lunch at. It's good to see that after the pandemic, the quality still held up despite the modest increase in price. Of all the other options available at the BGs Food Cartel, I might be missing out because I keep coming here because it's just that good! I always customize my bowl and they have a great selection. I'm a big fan of whatever they're doing with their crab salad, and I always get a double-portion of it (for an extra fee). This is easily one of the best poke bowl places and I'll be lucky to find another like it. read more

Seriously the best poke bowl I've ever had!!! I ordered the Sensei Poke Bowl and it was amazing. I ordered the regular size and it was plenty, I even had left overs! The ingredients were fresh and so flavorful, it really complimented each other well. I loved how the salmon and tuna were cubed too, it was enough to really get the flavor and have enough for each bite. Added spicy Mayo and soy sauce to the top which made it BOMB! Highly recommended, already wanting to order again. I will say though that I thought this place was a little pricey. If it was a little cheaper I would eat here all the time! read more

First timer! I got the regular sized Sensei poke bowl and it was filling- Pretty generous portion. I was pretty hungry and I had some leftover. It was yummy but wasn't the most flavorful and didn't have "awe" factor I was hoping. If you're hungry definitely give it a try. Maybe I'll try a different sauce next time read more

Pros: 1. Friendly customer service 2. High quality fish 3. Good sized portions Cons: 1. The mayo sauce is a too generously added, it masks the quality and flavor of the fish instead of complementing it. 2. We got home, most of the way through the dishes, and found a hair (not ours) in one. Thankfully, we were pretty much done eating. So, we ordered the salmon don and the world class poke. On the positive side - the spicy salmon was not scrape - it was nice tasty chunks of very fresh salmon. Can't express enough how much I appreciate that! If we go back, we will get a build your own amd avoid the mayo - it was quite thick in both dishes, amd really took away from being able to savor the quality of the salmon and other ingredients. Based on other strong reviews, I must confess, this made the experience a disappointing. Not going to ding them on the hair too badly - seems like every third place we try since the pandemic started has an issue, be it hair, raw chicken, etc. , so while not good, accidents happen. read more

This is one of our go-to cart in Beaverton food carts BG Cartel. My wife and I, always order Large Sensei bowl consists of salmon and tuna poke with salad and rice topped with seaweed, avocado, sesame seeds and spicy sauce. It can't go wrong. Short version: didn't get what we ordered and paid extra for. Go to SeaSweets Poke instead if they're open. Long version: Went here instead of SeaSweets Poke because they were temporarily closed. My wife and I ordered the sensei poke bowl. She asked for crab salad added to it which cost an extra dollar. I asked for the tuna to be spicy and he informed me that it's ground instead of chunks like the regular tuna and I said that it's fine. Then later he asked me again about it and was confusing and again was telling me that it was not chunks. The sensei poke bowl is supposed to include salmon and tuna, but instead he replaced my salmon with spicy tuna as well for whatever reason. Also, the crab salad my wife asked for and we paid extra for, was not in her poke bowl. read more

I have to confess I'm a pretty bad Asian foodie. This was my first poke bowl. I got the scallops with classic Hawaiian and many of the unlimited accoutrements. I like unlimited. I liked the freshness of everything and the customizable ness. The sauce was delicious but a little heavy handed. My wife raved about it and I almost didn't get it back. I think I might choose a different sauce next time. The classic was pretty ginger heavy which I'm not a big fan of but that's my taste. I was pretty impressed by the value. It's not common that I will get something raw and think I got a good deal. Maybe it's just cause it's my first but I'm a fan. read more

They need to learn not to serve piping hot rice with cold poke. Why? Because everyone knows hot rice will cook sashimi. Super disappointing! Got food to-go and after 10 mins of just leaving I noticed the fish in my bowl started to cook because of the hot rice. For a poke place that should be well known that room temperature rice is the way to go. Tsk, tsk! Also for $11 they don't fill up the bowl with much fish, you get more rice than anything and that's a rip off. Hopefully this place improves, hopefully! read more

Worst poke bowl ever!!! Got the large spicy tuna with greens as base. Didn't have a single actual piece of fish. Just a gross pink paste lightly sprinkled on greens. Basically $14 for a small bowl of mixed greens. Very disappointing. Will never order from them again. read more

Cashier was friendly and menu was easy to read. I got the Sensei Poke Bowl and it did not disappoint. Although the bowl looks small, they pack it full. Warning! They have no idea what is in their food apparently. I asked "does this have sesame seeds? I can't have sesame seeds" they assured me there are no sesame seeds if I don't want them. this place continues to lives up to its name, even during the pandemic! in my opinion, this food truck does better than other brick and mortar poke places around the area/beaverton. you really get value for the price you pay, theyre pretty generous! on top of that, they offer many yummy variations and sauce/topping options to choose from if you byo bowl. the quality always manages to stay consistent regardless of whether i get it from the cart or order via ubereats. the service at this cart is always swift, efficient, and delightful read more

We come here all the time when we want good fresh poke. Their house sauce is delicious! They add a lot of protien so it doesn't seem like you're gonna eat a whole heap of rice at the bottom. Though the last time I went (2 nights ago) the rice was a bit wet and it stuck together, but the whole bowl was still nice. If you ever crave good poke you should come here! read more

Best Poke place I've ever had. Large portions and a huge variety and the food is super fresh. I would give this place a 5 star just on the food alone but there are two small things that bring this to a 4/5. The rice is served hot instead of room temp or refrigerated and they have no way to order for pickup/carryout so you have to come in person and order on-site. Still my favorite food truck and the only place I go to get Poke. read more

I love this place! I like being able to customize my bowl, and I like the toppings they have available. I would eat lunch here at least 1x/week when I worked in Beaverton. I changed jobs and working downtown (close to the now-boarded-up Apple store), I tried the poke places there and just didn't like them as much. Creamy habanero is the bomb. I'm sad they stopped having fried wontons. read more

Extremely Unprofessional Behavior at the Poke Counter…read more Today my friend and I drove to Uwajimaya specifically to buy fresh poke, which we usually enjoy here. When we arrived at the poke bowl service counter, we were standing in front of the menu screens trying to decide what to order. We were not in line yet, because we were still looking at the options and deciding. We had only been standing there for less than three minutes. At the time, there was an Asian male employee helping another customer. After that customer finished ordering, another male employee (tall with long hair) gestured toward me and asked if I was ready to order. I said, "Can I get a mini bowl please?" Instead of confirming my order, he immediately asked whether my friend wanted the same thing. My friend was still deciding and had not said she was ordering yet, so I politely replied that she wasn't sure yet, but I was ready to order mine. The employee then shook his head and slammed the rice container, which completely surprised me. The gesture and attitude felt very disrespectful and unnecessarily aggressive toward a customer. For context, I work in the food service industry myself, so I understand that things can get busy. However, at that moment there were no other customers waiting behind us, so the pressure and frustration displayed by this employee felt very inappropriate. Because of how uncomfortable the interaction felt, I told him that it was okay and that I would not order anymore. My friend also said it was okay and that we didn't want anything anymore. Instead of simply letting us go, the employee shouted loudly across the counter, saying "Come back, come back! What do you want? Come back!" while waving his hand at us as if we had to beg for him to serve us. We had done nothing wrong--we were simply looking at the menu and politely asked for a mini bowl. The experience left us feeling confused, pressured, and honestly quite uncomfortable. We later reported the incident to the customer service counter. The female employee there (wearing glasses) listened and said she would forward the report to management. I have visited Uwajimaya many times and usually enjoy shopping here, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I hope management addresses this situation and reminds staff that basic courtesy and patience are essential in customer service. After the incident, we decided not to order poke and only purchased a bottled tea before leaving. We ended up going to another Japanese restaurant nearby for food instead. I'm sharing this experience not to attack the business, but to provide honest feedback. Uwajimaya has always been a place we enjoy visiting, and we would be happy to come back in the future--once we feel confident that customers will not be treated this way again by this particular employee.

Then select the little sides like crabmeat and avocado or seaweed salad (there's more options). Third, you pick the type of fish you want for your protein. More veggie extras, add sauces like ponzu or shoyu or spicy chili. Then you complete it with toppings of your choice as well; Corn, roasted garlic, onion, furikake, etc. My bowl was prepared by the same guy as the first time, who's probably the manager or owner. Who seemed polite, but didn't say much to help with the selections. No big deal regarding services. I ordered a Large Bowl for $19.99 and added a $3 tip. The container felt a bit heavy, but it also felt like a medium bowl for the price. It was that, two large scoops of rice, but you felt a bit shafted with the amount of poke given to compensate for the amount of rice. Suggestion: Add all the extras and toppings I guess. The taste was decent, but wasn't enough to make me wanna come back any time soon. It's worth a try if you haven't been here.
