My husband and I had a lovely evening at the Beer & Dessert pairing event with Sweet Hollow Bakery. The female owners of both local businesses did an outstanding job walking us through the tasting event. The beers and desserts were fabulous but the hospitality was even better. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Parking lot on site and looks like a lovely outdoor area when the weather is nice.

My fiancé and I were dog sitting in the area and I wanted to check out a brewery. My fiancé doesn't drink but was kind enough to accompany me as I found this place and saw they had mocktails and food options that could entertain her XD. Drove up. Parked. Cute farm setting with the brewery in a barn like setting. Not the biggest taproom, but definitely cute and cozy! Tbh (we don't have kids) but I read all of the hullabaloo about them not allowing kids. I can see why regarding how small the space is on the inside. Either way, a group came in and had a child and they made no fuss about it (Take it the kid was a little older and well behaved). Anyways, we walked in unsure what to do but we were kindly greeted and told to pick a table and they would come take our order. We ended up ordering a mocktail for the fiancé, their basket of cured meat and I got their IPA. Here is our order review: Mocktail - I don't remember what it was exactly but it had ginger, non-alcoholic vodka, and cider in it. If you like the taste of alcohol but don't want the actual alcohol, this would be a good choice! It tasted strong for not having anything in it! However, it was not to the liking of wifey as it tasted too much like alcohol. Our server agreed the drinks were more of an experiment and can taste interesting/different. The brewery has a free little coffee section and she was satisfied with their k-cup apple cider lol. The server did notice she did not drink her mocktail and kindly asked if she wanted something else, so that was very kind and generous! Cured meat: I think my fiancé read it wrong and thought it would come with cheese and maybe some other items but it was a 3 whole columns of different meats and a pack of club crackers. It was a hefty portion and we had to take most of it home! I was very happily surprised as some places are super skimpy with those kinds of items. Only $15 for all THE MEATS! IPA: a good, simple IPA - how I like them! Liked it enough I ordered a second one (which is rare)! They had other types, and I can bet they would be tasty but just not my thing (They were on the darker side) I did try their cider though - a little too sweet for me, but not a bad cider in my book! Overall it was a nice outing and pleasant experience. I could picture myself hanging out their with their IPA on a cold and snowy day. Also, dogs are welcome. We met a nice one who was able to hangout and relax with her human while he enjoyed some beers. What could be better?!

What a cute little hidden brewery! It feels like you're driving into the middle of nowhere to get here, but it has a massive outdoors space and quite large indoors. My favorite part about Frey's is that you can make your own hard seltzer's, or hard ciders with their special flavorings. Choose from ginger, pineapple, blueberry and more. It doesn't taste artificial at all. They have games both indoors and out. It can be a bit hard to hear inside, even if it's empty, given the tin/steel design it is echoey. Another huge pro is that it is dog friendly both indoors and out! They have little dog beds inside for your furry friends to lay on. Their food selection is a bit small. Mostly apps and snacks.

I had looked for several options to celebrate hubs birthday. I wanted a place with nice scenery, lots of space, and variety of options. Freys is located in Mt. Airy, so I thought it was going to be closer, but its definitely out in the boonies. The drive is beautiful though. There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating. However, because of the heat we decided to sit inside. They had lots of seating options and the bar was big and looked really nice. I was super excited to try the seltzer. My favorite was the pineapple. I tried blueberry and raspberry and wasn't a huge fan. My husband is a huge IPA fan and seemed to like one of them. They have plenty of card games, which was just perfect. The only thing that was kind of disappointing are the food options. They do offer chips and queso, hot dogs, pretzels, etc...so obviously snacks and light menu. So if you plan to come here hungry, it may not be a good idea. The staff were really nice and attentive. I would definitely come back to Freys and take advantage of their outdoor seating next time. But overall, good vibes and options.

Sure, sure, I love the beer, but now I can get coffee some mornings too. And I'll bring my own travel cup next time. Take it to go, and pet a friendly barn cat on my way out. If they have coffee in the morning, and beer in the afternoon, does that make the employees beer-istas?

I really like all the beers I have tasted and I love the relaxed atmosphere and friendly bar service. This is my second trip here and something about it makes me happy to be there as it's so down to earth and welcoming in a country setting. The picnic tables outside were full of young families on a sunny weekend afternoon but I see on a social media post they have recently added more tables and made a request to visitors to limit bringing the younger children, except by special request. Yay to both as the outdoors when we were there looked more like a playground. My next wish is for a few different snack menu choices. But either way, I'll be back because I really like their brews!

Went here on a Friday afternoon. I love that it just looks like its on an old farm! There are plenty of outdoor tables and chairs, so it was perfect for social distancing. The shed that holds the brewery is quite nice and would be great for group gatherings, when that's completely acceptable again. It's also kind of fun outdoors as there are cats that roam about greeting customers. Although beware if you are allergic because they are quite friendly, and will come jump up on the picnic tables to be near you. Overall, pretty good beer out of the options we tried with some distinct flavors. My friends also really liked the salt and vinegar popcorn that they sold.

Ample outdoor seating with umbrella shades! The staff here were very friendly and the tables outside were clean and spaced well. Plenty of parking. The beers were really good and some of the best that I've had in Maryland (Mt. Airy, Frederick, and Olney). My favorites this visit were the Chaotic Little Friend and New Biotic Racing. Can't wait to come back!

I was pleasantly surprised by this well-kept secret! We heard about the 80's Nights--so my friends and I got tickets. It was a great event--with a fantastic DJ, who not only played a lot of 80's songs--but he led contests really well and got the crowd really engaged and having fun. The decorations were great--from all the 80's toys (Mr Potato Head) to signs "Totally Bogus" to the names of the special drinks. A lot of thought was put into this--which made it really fun. I especially liked the variety of drinks. I don't like beer--so I was really happy with the great variety of drinks, and the non-alcoholic options are a great touch. That's something that you rarely see, and I really appreciated it. All of the wait staff was very friendly, too. I will definitely be back and am going to tell all my friends about Frey's. It is a great place, and I look forward to checking out the outdoor seating next time. And meant to mention--they had a lot of nice food and snack choices, too!

Classic MD craft beer farm making on site beers, ciders, and blends (coffee & beer for example). They have 20 rotating 'flavors' that run from light to heavy stouts. They offer indoor with a bar, long tables and couches and outdoor seating is plentiful with picnic tables (some with umbrellas) but on busy days you would be wise to bring your own chairs or blankets. The beers are quality and I myself prefer the Pressured Pig. They have some dood items on site or you can bring your own picnic.

I was there last night just to see the place and check out the beer. I had my Wife , Daughter and my Son , his Wife and one Grandson with me. Or they had me with them whatever. We were able to bring our own snacks but they had a menu of about the same things we brought. They had a good Beer list. I can't remember what the name of the beer I got was , But it was number 3. I like stouts. It was awesome. I had 3. My Grandson wasn't riding with me just so you know. I don't read long posts so I will make this short. I liked it and can't wait to take my friends here.

Expectations were high, after my sister's go to craft brewery closed down and her husband took to Stone Silo immediately, signing up to be a club member. The building itself did have a stone silo on property that opened up to fields. There was a rustic, farm type feel walking in the front door. Welcomed by stone and dark colored woods, the facility was quite large and clean with ample seating. A glance outside there were fire pits and chairs to sit set, along with an 'adult only' section if you don't like your craft with a crying 2 year old. I sampled a few beer including the IPA, which was a bit underwhelming, but expected since the West Coast is known for quality IPAs. I settled on the Japanese rice lager, 'Nojo with Yuzu.' What a mistake! Not something I could get behind and I like yuzu too. Just too tart for a lager and not what I was looking for in my light beer selection. Second round I tried their Czech style dark lager, Clever Crow. Not sure what about this was supposed to be lager, it really felt more porter-ish to me, did not drink light and just not what I was looking for in a dark lager. The grounds and staff were great, it was a fun place to hang with family, but maybe I just made two poor beer decisions. Expected a bit more from the taps but would be willing to go back and give Stone Silo a second chance, as I know my bro-in-law will want to go back since it's close to the house

(2) I overheard one of the reps (at the festival) say their popular cider was Raspberry which they didn't have there.
